Dyck, Henry Walter, Mr. February 1, 1942 - August 19, 2008 Henry Walter Dyck passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at St. Paul’s Hospital after battling ALS (Lou Gherig Disease). Henry is survived by his daughters, Heather Burkowski (friend Kip Harder), Carmen Dyck (Keith Jorgenson); grandchildren, Nadia Burkowski, Anaya Burkowski, Frances Jorgenson, Lily Jorgenson; sister, Elsie Reimer (Clarence); brother, Jake Dyck; and sister in law, Catherine Dyck. He was predeceased by his wife, Donna Dyck; parents, Cornelius and Helena (nee Ens) Dyck; and brothers, Abe Dyck and Bill Dyck. Henry worked as an electrician and during weekends and evenings he tirelessly worked on their beloved farm. In his retirement he kept busy attending auctions and restoring his antique tractors. In lieu of flowers, please honour Henry’s memory with a donation to ALS Association of Saskatchewan, Box 31028 Normanview Mall, Regina, SK, S4R 8R6. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Ellicott, John George, Mr - August 19, 2008 Passed away suddenly on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at Ajax Pickering Hospital at the age of 57. John will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years Kerry (nee Blackburn), and his adoring daughters Kristin, Larissa and Lindsay. John is also survived by his mother Eileen Rickard, sister Madeleine (John) Ramsperger and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father John and sister Georganna. John better known by his many friends as “Johnny Baby”, who’s sense of humor and devilish charm and passion for his guitar and music, will never be forgotten. Southlake and the campfires at the cottage will never be the same without “Johnny Baby”. Lambe, Sheila Diane, Mrs - August 19, 2008 Passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2008 at the age of 71. Sheila will be sadly missed by her loving husband Jacques Fortin and her adoring children Robert (Michelle), Gary (Elaine), and her 8 loving grandchildren. Sheila was the proud owner of the Decorator Depot in Toronto for the past 19 years. Leyh, Agnes Elizabeth (nee: Farago), Mrs. November 19, 1929 - August 30, 2008 Agnes passed away unexpectedly at the U of A Hospital. Agnes was born in Plunkett, Saskatchewan and was raised as a farm girl in a Hungarian family. Agnes and her husband farmed for the first few years in the Plunkett area and also ran a farm machinery business. They moved to Westlock, Alberta in 1962 with their family of three children and remained in their family home for 42 years. Agnes was never afraid to do anything, whether sorting eggs, being a ward aid at a local hospital or working in a drug store. Agnes' best times could be had cooking and having friends and family over for a meal or coffee as she loved having company. Agnes and her husband Lyle have been living in Stony Plain the past few years, enjoying their retirement. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Lyle Fredrick Leyh of Stony Plain; her daughter, Brenda and son-in-law Garry Hutchinson and their children, Wade (Nicole) and Scott (Elena) and great-granddaughter Danika; son Leslie and daughter-in-law Ruth Leyh of Qualicum Beach, B.C. and their three children Aaron (Emily), Jennifer and Jocelyn; her youngest son David Leyh of Edmonton; her brother and sister-in-law, Leslie and Edna Farago, of Watrous, Sask and sister-in-law Leona Farago of Regina; as well as four nieces and a nephew. She is predeceased by her father and mother, John and Mary Farago, sister Eva who died at birth and brother John Farago. Respecting Agnes' wishes, a private ceremony will be held for just the immediate family but a reception honouring her life will be held at the Westlock Memorial Hall on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Cremation has taken place and her final resting place will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Edmonton. Many thanks go out to the U of A Hospital ICU Nurses and Staff and the Doctors who cared for her. Holland, Aubrey Douglas, Mr. - August 30, 2008 age 55, of Calgary, Alberta and formerly of Amherst, N.S. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary on August 30, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, he was a son of Anita (Cormier) Holland of Amherst and the late Stanley Holland. Aubrey was recently employed with National Fast Freight in Calgary and formerly with the Amherst Cemetery. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Tyler. Aubrey enjoyed bowling, softball and playing cards. He is survived by his wife the former Doreen Berry, daughter Anita (Greg) of Comox, B.C., sons Aubrey (Tanya) and Aaron (Tanya) both of Calgary, Alberta, granddaughters Ashley and Amber and grandson Tyler all of Calgary, Alberta. Besides his mother, Aubrey is survived by sisters Helen (Bev) of Enfield, N.S., Ann Marie (Ray) of Courtney, B.C. and Mary (Charlie) of Newtown, N.B., brothers Joe (Jean) of Amherst, Stanley Jr. (Marg) of Westville, N.S. and Frank (Laura) of Amherst as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Aubrey was predeceased by an infant brother Stanley Arthur. A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced, with interment in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. Robinson, Catharine "Kitty" Inch, Mrs. November 4, 1909 - August 24, 2008, After a long life, well lived. Kitty Robinson died on 24 August 2008. She was born in 1909 to Frederick and Margaret Ford Inch, and was predeceased by her sisters Louise (Ayres), Nell (Corner) and Violet (Hill) and by her brothers Frederick, James and Albert Inch. Her brother William Inch (Shirley) survives her. Married to Cecil William Robinson Q.C. who died in 1988, Kitty together with Cecil raised three children, Patricia Roman (Ted) lives in Montreal; Michael (Andrea Poole) in Toronto; and Penny Woodcock in Calgary. Kitty enjoyed her six grandchildren: Jennifer Roman Briere (Benoit), Paul Roman (Lori Ann Simpson), Alexandra Robinson Fawcett (Benjamin), Laura Robinson White (Byron), Caroline Poole, and Scott Woodcock (Anna Mason). She also delighted in her five great-grandchildren: Nicolas and Cedric Briere, Emily and Katherine Roman and Josephine Mason- Woodcock. She will be missed by her family who admired her, loved her, and will treasure her memory. Kitty contributed to many organizations during her lifetime, including the Hamilton Art Gallery, Hamilton Foundation, Hamilton Golf and Country Club, Thistle Club, Cedar Springs Ski Club, Big Sisters, Garden Club and Ballet Bridge. She skied, played tennis and golfed well into her senior years. In addition, she read voraciously, completed cryptic crosswords, played bridge, attended the theatre and travelled widely. Kitty was a kind and supportive friend to many who will remember her positive attitude, generosity, support in times of trouble, great style sense and brilliant smile. Her Christian faith sustained her through the many trials of her last years, and her family is grateful for care provided at Highgate Retirement Home and subsequently at The Meadows, Ancaster. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kitty's life in a Service of Remembrance at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton L8P 2C8 on Thursday, 28 August at 2:00 p.m., with a reception following the service. Iverson, Paul, Mr. October 7, 1922 - August 31, 2008, beloved husband, father, grandfather, GG grandpa passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor Hospice on August 31, 2008. Paul was born in Astrup, Denmark on October 7, 1922 to Axel and Emilie Iversen. He immigrated to Canada in 1950 with his brother Aage. They crossed Canada by car in 1951 to Calgary. Paul began his own cement finishing business in 1954. He married Bella Larsen in November 1953. Paul is survived by his wife, Bella; four sons, Axsel (Sharon), Niels (Linda), Ken (Moira) and Bruce (Brenda); three daughters, Anne (Matt) Hornberger, Karen (Don) Hight and Judy (Bob) Ross; 15 grandchildren, Craig, Holly, Melanie (Scott), Paul, Andrea (Dan), Carla, Jeffrey, Curtis, Corrine (Fraser), Elysia, Kyle, Daniel, Jennifer, Colleen and Brett; four great grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Olivia and Thomas; as well as brother Aage (Stinne) and two nephews in Olds, AB; Karl Emil, Evald (Eva), Karin (Ernst) and all his nieces and nephews in Denmark; sister-in-law Ellen (Gordon), and brothers-in-law Niels (Barb) and Bob (Joan). Paul will be missed by all. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Christian, and sisters, Ella, Inga and Bitten of Denmark. Paul moved to Dana Village in 1996 where he enjoyed card playing and games with his friends. Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Agape Manor Hospice. (Nick) Most recently of Windsor, previously a resident of Oak Ridges, and a long time employee of A&P food stores, Nick died peacefully in his 86th year on August 30, 2008, while in residence at Richmond Terrace Long Term Care in Amherstburg. Nick was predeceased by his parents Esme and Reginald Nicholson, his grandson Ryan, his first wife Gladys and his second wife Marlene. Nick leaves behind his daughters Linda Ross (Ted) and Verna Webb (Steve) and his son Brian (Sue); grandchildren Barb (Adrian), Jeff, Allyson (Jay), Erin; great-grandchildren Hannah and Aiden; step-daughter Lee Ann (David) and step-grandchildren James, Melanie, Brandon and Rebecca. Jones, Albert, Mr. February 14, 1921 - August 20, 2008, After spending the morning with his son, Bob and the afternoon with his best friend, Dorothy, Al died in his sleep on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Al spent twenty years in the Navy then worked for AGT for as many years again, up until very recently he lived a good life full of activities with good friends and family. He was a good man and was loved by many. Al was predeceased by his loving wife, Claire and his sister, Beth. He is survived by his sons, Wayne (Peggy), Bob, Greg (Gail) and Terry (Marilyn); seven grandchildren; Tony, Carrie, Mark, Craig, Andrea, Nikki and Ali; four great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Noah, Joel and Camryn. Albert is also survived by his sister, Annie; cousin, May Quinn and the Hutchinson clan back home. The family would like to thank the staff at Silverbirch Lodge and the Hardisty Nursing Home (especially Doreen), for all the help and kindness. Elizabeth of Hungary, passed away peacefully on the evening of August 23, 2008 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1976, her son Daniel in 2008, as well as sisters Ann and Helen and her brother Mike. Elizabeth will always be remembered for her gentleness in the hearts and minds of her son Bill (Shirley), her sisters Mary, Madeleine and Irene, her grandchildren Jason and Suzie, her great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Canada and Hungary. Pasitney, Annie, Mrs. September 30, 1922 - August 22, 2008, Annie, age 85 years of St. Volodymyr Villa, Saskatoon, SK passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2008. Annie was born in Sutherland, Saskatchewan September 30, 1922, where she grew up and attended Sutherland School. She met and married her husband, John in 1938 thus moving to the farm in Rama, Saskatchewan. She encountered the hardships on the farm raising three sons by herself during the time of the war while John served. This was where she learned how to cook a meal from nothing. In 1948 she moved back to Sutherland where she lived with John on Central Avenue raising her family until October 1, 2000. Her next move was to the wonderful staff and residents at St. Volodymyr Villa. The family can’t thank them enough. Her five sons were the heart of her life. She never lost her way in loyalty, commitment and love. She was a protector to all. There are absolutely no words that can describe the utmost love that she carried. The love of God in her brought everybody towards her to be her friend and companion. She will never be forgotten. She is survived by her sons, Oscar (Joan) of Port Alberni, BC, Bob (Pam) of Edmonton, AB, Jerry (Judy) of Kelowna, BC, Dave (Debbie) of Saskatoon, SK, Don (Nan) of Thailand; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Rose Thomas of Saskatoon, SK; one brother, John (Nellie) Koshman of Saskatoon, SK, one sister in law, Helen Koshman; and numerous nieces and nephews. LANG, Frank Joseph January 22, 1947 - August 19, 2008, age 61, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit, V.G. Site, Halifax, with his wife and son at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 22nd, 1947, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Rita Lorraine (Schubert) Lang, Halifax, and the late Adolph Lang. Frank was employed by Alweather Windows and Doors Ltd. Besides his mother, Frank will be sadly missed by his wife of 22 years, Donna Marie (Bonner); son, Matthew (Heather); brother, Fred (Grace), St. Catharine's, Ontario; sister, Sandra Kline, Halifax. He was an honorary "Grampie" to great nephews, Raymond, Alexander and Brendan Kline; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a special friend who was like a son, Gregor Knapp, Germany. He was predeceased by his father, Adolph Lang; brother-in-law, Raymond Kline; and a niece, Krista Kline. Family members would like to extend a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, for their care and compassion given to Frank and all his family. Lunger, Dorothy Annie, Mrs. March 12, 1914 - August 20, 2008, On Wednesday, August 20, 2008, Mrs. Dorothy Lunger of Morinville, AB passed away at the Venta Care Centre at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her loving husband Archie Lunger, three children, Lyle Lunger, Ransom Lunger, and Eldon Lunger, son-in-law John Mason, and two grandchildren, Sheila Lunger and Shelly Lunger. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Fay Clark, Stuart (Shirley) Lunger, Wenonah Mason, and Daryl (Gail) Lunger, brother Ken Thomson, and daughters-in-law Jeannette (Eldon’s widow), Judy (Eldon’s first wife) and Carol (Ransom’s first wife), as well as her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and adopted grandchildren. Dorothy will be remembered for her interest in current events, reading and her love for travel. This very special and treasured lady, known to all that were blessed to know her as simply "Nanny Kay", passed from our world into the next. Born in Newcastle, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Hollett) Mitchell. Kay was predeceased by the love of her life, Victor Clarence Power; brothers, Nicholas and George; sisters, Helen Blackler, Theresa McGrath and Jenny Doucette. In her 82 years with us she was the proud mother of five beautiful children; sons, Clarence (Jean), Bible Hill; Robert (Gail), Gailford, Ont.; Phillip (Terry), South Rawdon; daughters, Rose (Don) Fox, Lower Sackville; Holly (Jim) Erwin, Lower Sackville. She was the foster mother of Marilyn Jollimore, Hants County; Michael Slaunwhite, Halifax. Kay was also the grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Leisure time for Kim was spent camping with family and friends. He was an active member of South Sask. Mountain Bike Club and in winter he would cross country ski – all with his life long friend Mike Bazinnet. The family would like to thank Dr. K. Kennedy, Marlene, Mrs. April 18, 1938 - August 22, 2008, With a generous heart as big as her smile, and a tongue as sharp as her mind, Marlene cast an unforgettable aura over her many friends at Allen Gray nursing home in Edmonton, before her death on Aug. 22 at the age of 70. Born April 18, 1938 in Sarnia, Ont., she attended SCITS high school and enjoyed an auto-parts career at Autolite in Point Edward. A devoted single mom, Marlene made sure her son wanted for nothing, loved bingo and never missed the carnival, Jeopardy or a weepy romance flick. After a stroke put her into a wheelchair in 2000, her resilience, humour and courage made for the best eight years of her life after a move to Edmonton, where she engaged her community and raised money for charity. She is survived by her son Gregory and wife Wendy, grandchildren Brendan (wife Erin), Sarah, Avalon, Michael and Tyler, all of Edmonton; great-granddaughter Mackenzie Kennedy; aunts Jean Ford of Edmonton and Gladys Vanstone and Florence Brander of Sarnia; and cousins. Thomson, Margaret Mercer, Mrs. November 28, 1913 - August 21, 2008, Born November 28, 1913, Margaret passed away peacefully on August 21, 2008 in Calgary. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Jean Peterson of Idaho, seventeen nieces and nephews, many grand nieces, grand nephews and the multitude of students she taught in Namaka, Standard and High River. She was predeceased by her parents Belle and Hans Thomson of Namaka, sisters Helen Bauer of Nebraska, Isabelle Cascadden and Ida Pollard of Calgary, brothers James and Hans Thomson of Michigan, Andy Thomson of Calgary and nephews Fred Thomson of Michigan and Harry Pollard of Calgary. Margaret was born and raised at Namaka. After completing Normal School in Calgary she began her long career as a teacher. She was a perfect example of decorum, thoughtfulness and compassion which made her an exemplary educator. Her career commenced at Namaka School where she taught from 1932 – 1937. She taught at Standard for one year and moved to High River in 1939 where she made her home and taught until retiring in 1973. Her retirement years were filled with travel across the USA, Australia, Japan, Russia, China, Africa and Europe. Although she had no children of her own, she was aunt, mother, grandmother and friend to her nieces and nephews in whom she always took great interest and loved dearly. She will be greatly missed. A private family service will be held at a later date. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of their choice.

Vermette, Ange-Emma, Mrs. February 10, 1915 - August 22, 2008, Peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2008 after a short illness, Ange-Emma passed away at the age of 93 years 6 months. She leaves to mourn her six children: Maurice (Emma), René (Julie), Cécile (Gilles Alarie), Gilles (Antoinette), Paulette Fernande Seliski and Lionel (Patricia); 22 grandchilddren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one sister Lucille (René Ayotte) and one sister-in-law Alice Clément as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ange-Emma was predeceased by her husband Jean-Baptiste in 1999, her grandson Luc Alarie in 1988, by her sisters Alice, Florence and her twin brother Alderic. Mom cherished her family above all else. Her greatest love was to bring together, into her home, her children and grandchildren to celebrate all family events. And even though she suffered from Paget’s disease in one leg, her passion for tending her flowers and her large garden continued on for many years. Thank you mom for the love you’ve shown us and the memories you’ve left in our hearts. You will be missed by all. ROBINSON. Alma Jean - It is with great sadness the family of Alma Jean Robinson (nee Getty) announces her passing on November 13, 2008 at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia, at the age of 89. She was born on June 4, 1919 to Leonard (1936) and Eliza (1982) Getty. She is predeceased by her husband Lionel (1984), her son Tom, her daughter-in-law Luella, her son-in-law Bruce (2002), her grandsons Randy and B.J. (1991), and an infant grandson Timothy (1982). She will be greatly missed by her son Chuck and his wife Sharon, Fred and his wife Ruby, all of Petrolia, and her daughter Pat Bright of Watford. She was a loving grandma to six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and big grandma to a great great grandson. Jean was a long time member of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and was very active in the Women's Auxiliary until her later years. Jean's life revolved around the work she did for her church, her many crafts, enjoying her family, and even near the end one of the babies could bring a smile to her face. Visitors will be received on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia, where a funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Allan John Reaburn It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Allan John Reaburn of Chesley, who passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, November 13, 2008 in his 82nd year. Cherished father of Jamie (Linda) of Palmerston, Cathy (Mark) Hamel of R.R. #2 Elmwood, David of Bradford and Susan (Les) Leifso of R.R. #2 Elmwood. Special grandfather to Matt (Larissa) Hamel, Megan (Chris) Kanters, Erin Hamel, Brady and Paige Leifso and Kyle and Chloe Reaburn as well as great grandpa to Mitchell and Spencer Hamel and Kody Kanters. Allan will be fondly remembered by his brother Bob (Sheila) Reaburn of Exeter and sister Ruth Lahn of Woodstock. Predeceased by his wife Jean, brother-in-law Rob Lahn and his parents, Earl and Myrtle (Hatten) Reaburn. Dad was a life long resident of Chesley and was active in business and community. He was also a life member of the Kinsmen Club of Chesley. Gail Wiggins Passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Sharon Gail Wiggins of Durham. Loving sister of Joe Wiggins and Dorothy McNab, both of Durham, and Wayne Wiggins and his wife Grace of Seaforth. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Sadie Wiggins, her sisters Hazel Jacobs-Sager and Marlene Wiggins, and an infant brother Keith. Gail owned and operated Top Dog Grooming for 14 years and she loved working with her clients and their pets. Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Wednesday, November 12 from 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Gail’s Life was held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13 at 1 pm. Rev. Jim Johnson officiated. Words of Remembrance were given by Kevin Wiggins, Crystal Duquette and Rosemary Ringler. The congregation listened to Gail’s favourite singer, Elvis, sing, “How Great Thou Art,” “He Touched Me” and “Amazing Grace.” The flower bearers were Crystal Duquette and Jesse Jacobs. The pallbearers were Kevin Wiggins, Rob Wiggins, Sean Duquette, Wilf Ringler, Randy Jacobs and Craig Jacobs. Interment at Durham Cemetery.
