COLLINS, Audrey (nee Miles). In Huntingdon, originally from Verdun, passed away on October 10, 2008, Mrs. Audrey Collins, nee Miles, aged seventy-seven years. Beloved wife of the late David Martin Collins. She leaves to mourn her daughters Joy (George Palmer) and Judy (Gary Browning), six grandchildren: Alyssa, Vanessa, David, Julie, Ben and Hannah, her brother Corby and her sisters Pat and Barbie, also many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her two brothers Raymond and Gary. Visitations will be held at the Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Inc., 170 Chateauguay street, Huntingdon Wednesday, October 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, October 16, starting at 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. SHEA, Harry Charles March 17, 1934 - October 12, 2008 Harry Charles Shea beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many passed away in the arms of his loving family at the Carewest Sarcee Facility on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Harry was born in Rocky Mountain House and moved to Calgary at an early age where he met and married Rhea in October 1960. They settled in Regina for six years where both of their daughters were born and many life long friends were made. The family returned to Calgary in 1966. Harry was employed as a salesman and later as a regional sales manager for Bostitch where he thrived in his job for thirty-five years until 1990 when his illness shortened his career. Harry continued to find pleasure in his volunteer work at the Carewest Sarcee which lasted for over forty years. He found enjoyment as an active member of the Alberta Pioneer Auto Club, participating in many show and shines with his 1948 Mercury pick-up. Harry found great satisfaction in his home and garden as well as his and Rhea's many trips to Kananaskis. Harry is survived by his wife and dear friend, Rhea; daughters, Angela (Brent) Strader, Vicki (Derrick) Max all of Calgary; granddaughters, Katelyn Strader of Edmonton and Victoria Strader and Kristi Max, of Calgary. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Mae) Shea of Bragg Creek; twin sister, Pat Shea of Ladner, BC; brother-in-law, George (Barb) Bolton; sister-in-law, Shirley (Roy) Nourse of Calgary; along with many nieces and nephews. MAXWELL, John George In his 80th year, on October 10, 2008, John passed away peacefully, hand-in-hand with his beloved wife Sheila and surrounded by his children. Born in Hull, England on October 27, 1928, John leaves behind his best friend Sheila; children Sandra (Tim), Sharron (Daniel), Jeffrey (Lise) and Ian; grandchildren Jennifer (Corey), Jaime (Angelo), Jessica, Cynthia (Adam), David, Alexander and Mackenzie; great-grandchildren Samantha, Jaelyn, Victoria, Grace, Annalysse and Alexis. Coming to Canada in 1966, the Maxwell's settled first in Ottawa then Kanata to celebrate life. As a 20-year member of the Kanata-Hazeldean Lions Club and founding member of the Kanata Squares Dancing club, John along with Sheila enjoyed many nights of friendship put to music. Later John sang merrily along beside the members of the Unforgettable Hearts and Belles and Beaux. From his workshop came all varieties of items, from spoon racks to tables, then his favourite pastime, making clocks to share amongst his friends and family. John will also be sadly missed by nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic including his courtesy niece Jackie (Rob) of Kanata. Words cannot express the heartfelt thanks to the staff on the 5th and 6th floors of the General Hospital, and the Palliative Care team on the 5th floor at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital. MITCHELL, Captain Bryan "Mav" Captain Bryan "Mav" Mitchell of 15 Wing Moose Jaw passed away suddenly on October 9, 2008, in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 46. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Alliance Church (corner of 9 Avenue N.W. and Thatcher Drive). Captain Padre Joe Almeida will officiate. Bryan is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Melody, and his two daughters, Milann (age sixteen) and Kiera (age twelve); his parents, Gail and Rick Nesimiuk of Bangkok, Thailand; two sisters Kara (Todd) Nesimiuk of Doha, Qatar; Marlea (Darren) Ward of Brampton, ON; Melody's parents Ken and Lillian Anderson of Calgary, AB; brothers-in-law Garth (Pam) Anderson of Calgary, AB, Mark (Carmen) Anderson of Edmonton, AB. He is also survived by five wonderful nieces who loved him very much. Captain Bryan Alexander Mitchell was born on December 27, 1961 in Red Deer, Alberta. He first enrolled in the Canadian Forces on January 24, 1983 under the Officer Candidate Training Plan (OCTP) program as a pilot (32U). He completed his pilot course, February 15, 1985. He went on to complete the Basic Helicopter Course on October 26, 1985 and was subsequently posted to 427 tactical Helicopter Squadron Petawawa on September 5, 1985. He was posted to the Multinational Force and Observers-Middle East (CCMFO) on September 15, 1987 until he was posted to 2CFFTS Moose Jaw on July 15, 1988 as an instructor on the C-114 Tutor training jet, achieving his A1 instructor rating. From April 1, 1993 until April 7, 1995 Captain Mitchell was selected for an exchange posting to Scampton, UK. In April 1995, he returned to Canada and was posted to CFB Calgary, where he took his release. Following his release, Captain Mitchell was part of the British Aerospace System based out of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 1995 until he returned to Calgary in 2004 to rejoin the Canadian Forces. He was re-enrolled on July 23, 2004 under the Direct Entry Plan and was subsequently posted to 2CFFTS Moose Jaw on August 16, 2004 as a flying instructor where he once again achieved his A1 Instructor Rating. Captain Mitchell was selected for a coveted tryout for the Snowbirds in the spring of 2008. On August 15 of this year, he was posted to 431(AD)Sqn and would have been a member of the 2009 air demonstration team. Bryan was a devoted husband, father and considered a best friend too many. He had a great sense of humour and loved to banter. He was a very humble and compassionate man. He attacked life at full throttle, having a passion for fast cars, bikes and jets. Bryan took pride in his career, knowing that his role in the Armed Forces was an important one. He was a great pilot and leader. Bryan was passionate about flying, although his death was tragic, he absolutely loved what he was doing. Most importantly, he was devoted to his family and took great honour in building a strong family in faith. All who knew Bryan, will remember him as a man of great faith. Although he may be gone, we know where he is. SADLER, Hilda Hilda (Stotyn) Sadler of Calgary, AB born in Monarch, AB on June 20, 1922, passed away on October 10, 2008 at the age of 86 years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband James; son Rodney (Lily); grandsons Nigel (Sarah), Devan (Amy) and Brandon; great-granddaughters Rayne and Amira and great-grandson Aiden. She is also survived by her brothers, Tim, Arie and Ed Stotyn; and sister Truda Luce (Stotyn). Hilda will be forever missed and remembered for spending precious moments with her grandsons. JOSLIN, Johannes November 28, 1927 - October 9, 2008 Johannes Joslin of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Johannes was born in Manokwari, Indonesia, residing most of his life there until moving to Calgary in 2003. He was an accomplished seamster and enjoyed doing word search. Johannes was also environmentally friendly, with nothing being wasted. Johannes is survived by his children, Hanoch (Stella), Fryda (Gani), Benny (Meithy), Welly (Detha), Vonny, and Victor (Melda); twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Tomas (Maria Angela) Jo; stepmother Ngo; stepsister Ersilia (Poon), as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Kristina and his son Paulus. DUPLESSIS, Père Réal c.s.c. Le père Réal Duplessis, religieux de la Congrégation de Sainte-Croix est décédé le 10 octobre 2008 à Montréal, à l'âge de 75 ans. Né à East Angus, fils de Lucien Duplessis et de Marie-Anne Côté, il entra dans la Congrégation de Sainte-Croix en 1952. Il a été ordonné prêtre le 31 mai 1958. Il a exercé son ministère d'abord au collège de Plessisville (1960 - 1969). De 1969 à 1973, il est directeur des Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal à Montréal. De 1973 à 1978, il est vicaire à la paroisse Saint-Laurent puis il revient à l'Oratoire Saint-Joseph deux ans (1980 - 1981). De 1981 à 1994, différentes paroisses profitent tour à tour de son zèle apostolique: la paroisse Saint-Noël-Chabanel à Thetford Mines, la paroisse Sainte-Croix à Cornwall puis les paroisses de Coleraine et de Vimy Ridge dans la région de l'Amiante. De 1994 à 2002, il est aumônier au centre hospitalier de Thetford Mines. Enfin il prend sa retraite en 2002 à la maison Basile-Moreau. Il laisse dans le deuil outre ses confrères, ses belles-soeurs Jeanne Laverdière (Maurice), Claire Charrette (Lionel), Thérèse Mailhot (Marcel) et plusieurs neveux et nièces. Il sera exposé au 4994, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges à Montréal, le mercredi 15 octobre de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Des prières communautaires y auront lieu le même jour à 16 h 30 et 19 h 30. L'eucharistie des funérailles sera concélébrée le jeudi 16 octobre à 10 h, à la crypte de l'Oratoire Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal. KOZLICH, John Michael - It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Kozlich at his home on October 11th, 2008 in his 76th year. Son of the late Jim and Anne. Beloved husband of Mildred (nee Spigelski), dear father of son Mark (Carrie) and daughter Mary (Larry). John is also survived by his brother Jim and family Barb, Wendy, Tanya and Jaxon, cousin Barb (Jerry) Sinwaski and by his brother-in-law Joe Spigelski and family. John was a long-time employee of Inco's Mines Exploration Department. In retirement he won an international award for website design, gardened passionately and became an accomplished bird carver. Father of Donna Dickson (Domenic Bombardieri), Virginia McIntyre (husband Pat predeceased) all of Toronto and Don Dickson of Sudbury. Don was the grandfather of 8. Missed by his sister Patricia Sancartier of Sudbury. He was the son of the late John and Florence (Orr) Dickson. McFARLAND Harold Nelas - In Loving memory of Harold who passed away peacefully on Friday October 10, 2008 at the Southlake Regional Health Centre Newmarket , at the age of 67. Harold left school at an early age to help his parents on their farm and continued to work hard all his life including spending his last 20 years working as a transport truck operator. Harold was a wonderful man, happiest spending his free time at home with his wife Linda and forever faithful friend Buddy. Harold enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, the odd night out at the racetrack, and in general loved to putter. Harold loved country music and enjoyed going to see his favorite musicians perform in concert. Beloved husband of Linda, father of Brian, Patrina, and Jeffrey. Loving father figure to Tracey and Karen, and grandfather to Joey, Katie, and Tess.
