Beloved son of Anna and Harvey Kaster of Walkerton, husband of the late Jackie Kaster, father of Cindy Kaster. Extended family of James and Tammy Green of Hanover and Bonnie Buchanen of Owen Sound. WOOD, Keith Stewart Paisiblement le dimanche 28 septembre, Keith est décédé dans sa 90ème année. Cher époux de Jeannine Guillevin-Wood, oc, père affectueux de Bruce (Vera Kenney), Vickie Guillevin (Yves Magnier) et Brad (Lise Brunet), grand-père dévoué de Jeffery, Ryan, Samantha, Pierre (Erica Audet), Michèle, Tiffany et Meghan. Il laisse aussi sa soeur Marguerite Carson et sa nièce Donna McNeely (Bruce). Né le 10 août à Peterborough, Ontario, il était le fils de Mildred Deyell et Bruce Wood. Il a servi outre-mer pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, dans le R.C.A.F. et arborait fièrement son anneau de Flying Goldfish décerné en tant que survivant des résistants de la Mer du Nord. Keith était surtout un homme doux, qui a vraiment aimé les siens, sa famille élargie et son réseau mondial d'amis. Il a vécu sa vie à plein et nous nous souviendrons toujours de son rire et de sa joie de vivre. C'est au Complexe funéraire Mont-Royal 1297, chemin de la Forêt Outremont que la famille accueillera les visiteurs, le dimanche 5 octobre de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h et le 6 octobre de 19 h à 21 h. La célébration de la vie de Keith aura lieu dans la chapelle le mardi 7 octobre de 10 h 30 à 11h. Une réception suivra le service. BUTTNER, Robert "Bob" 2008-10-03 July 25, 1936- Sept. 26, 2008 We regret to announce the passing of Robert Joseph Andrew Buttner on September 26, 2008. Bob was born on July 25, 1936 on the family homestead 6 miles NE of Lestock, SK. The family moved to the Pinewood area in ON in the fall of 1939 living in a farmhouse about 5 miles north of Pinewood. The family again moved in 1943-44 to Stratton ON where Bob and his siblings grew up. Those were happy years for the family. Bob played various sports including hockey and baseball. He and his siblings went to the Morley Public School. In 1952 Bob, on the invitation from a relative, went to work on one of the freighters sailing the Great Lakes. He worked on the ships for about 4 years, coming home only for Christmas and the winter months before returning permanently to Fort Frances. He subsequently married Patricia Gray and started his own family. Bob worked as a stationary engineer at the Fort Frances Hospital before moving to Dryden. He then became chief engineer at Dryden Regional Hospital. Bob was predeceased by his parent Annette and Joe Buttner. He is survived by his sons, Wayne Buttner (Claire) of Dryden, Charles Buttner of BC and Andy Buttner of Dryden, by his daughters Juanita Otto (Fred) of AB and Melissa Lockhart of Dryden. Also surviving are his grandchildren George Brignall, Cynthia Buttner, Jason McGowan, Amanda and Brittany Otto, Paul and Amy Buttner, Bridgid and Hilary Lockhart and Madison Buttner, his great grandchildren William and Jonathon Gibbons and Gwendolyn McGowan. A Memorial Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Bob Buttner was held Wednesday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph‘s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Campeau officiating. McLEAN, Rosemary Nellie 2008-10-03 Mrs. Rosemary Nellie McLean, age 67 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Rosemary was born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She moved, with her family, to Thunder Bay in 1981 and had resided here since. She worked as a cook for a number of years at Gerry’s Restaurant. She was married to Norman McLean September 19, 1965 in Sydney. He predeceased her in 1997. Rosemary was a member of the Ladies Auxillary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5. She loved her computer, especially doing graphics and writing poetry. She also had great affection for her cat Dusty. Rosemary is survived by her children Dawn Munshaw (Terry Friske), Michelle Schulzki (Karl), Cindy Gonzales (Tony) and Derek (Monica), grandchildren Corey, Brandon, Matthew, Kimberley, Michael, Rosa, Jonathon, Daniel, Pedro, Kyle and Nicholas, sisters and brothers Veronica Ryan, Leona Schennery and Helena West, Johnny Haddad and Joey Haddad. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, grandchildren Julia, Lindsay, Kathleen and Anthony, sister Marilyn Stover and a very special aunt Julia Brian, who raised her for most of her growing up years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Agnes’ Church at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam. Services will be complete in the church. Interment will take place privately at St. Andrew’s Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with friends and family will take place on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel with vigil prayers to be offered on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorials to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated. O’NEIL Anthony (Tony) Joseph O’Neil, 96, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. Tony was born March 6, 1912 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Jack and Louise O’Neil, and had lived all his life in the district. He had worked for 35 years at the local paper mill, retiring in 1977 as a millwright. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and also was very active in the community, especially with Kiwanis, cooking for the steak fry, selling tickets, and helping with auctions and Meals on Wheels. He also was a significant supporter of Sunny Cove Camp. In his younger years, he enjoyed sports and playing baseball. He was an outdoors person who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in his younger years was a guide during the summer. He later spent many summer vacations guiding in the Arctic. Tony is survived by his daughter, Grace, of Winnipeg, Man.; four grandchildren, Patricia Kitchen of Moose Jaw, Sask., Katherine Tysz of Fort Frances, Ont., Brenda Robinson of Elkford, B.C., and Elizabeth Kloepfer of Winnipeg, Man.; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bernice, and his second wife, Jeanette. He also was predeceased by 10 siblings; a step-son, Larry Perkins; and a granddaughter, Irene Davidson. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Francis Pudicherry will officiate, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may visit prior to the service Monday at the church. The pallbearers will be Frank Strain, Herman Rodrigues, Harold Huntley, Steve Buttner, David Chambers, and Peter Boon. In memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Luigi Martinello 1922 - 2008 Au Centre d'hébergement St-Augustin, Québec, le 1er octobre 2008, à l'âge de 86 ans 8 mois, est décédé monsieur Luigi Martinello, époux de dame Mathilde Colbalchini. Né en Italie le 8 janvier 1922, il était le fils de feu dame Maria Sbrissa et de feu monsieur Dominico Martinello. ELLIS, Donald "Donnie" Shepard September 12, 1931 - September 22, 2008 Donnie Ellis, beloved husband of Mrs. Geraldine Ann Ellis of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on September 22, 2008 at the age of 77 years. Some heartfelt words from his daughter: Donald was born September 12, 1931 to Harriet and Thomas Manly (Dwight) Ellis. Don or sometimes known as Donnie was no stranger to hard work given the decade and location of his birth. He regaled many a story of early mornings tending to cows and janitorial duties at his "backyard" Rockland School. A welcome change came during his years at Western Canada High School where his landlady treated him to homemade soup and a towel laid over a radiator. Donald returned home to the family farm to 4:00 a.m. shift changes during harvest as well as a cow/calf business. Geraldine Ann McCurdy, upon missing her bus, found herself married to the "handsome stranger" offering her a ride in the fall of 1967. Don is well known for his generosity, and as being a man who did not stand on ceremony. He was not defined by his success in business, but by his steadfastness and genuine concern for those who asked for his help. A loved, quiet, gentle man, satisfied with a life of work, he never traveled far from where he grew up. He was content to invent and garden his life toward the benefit of others. Donald is survived by son Douglas (Tara), daughter Ann-Marie, and granddaughter Ciara. He is also survived by sister Audrey (Frank) and sisters-in-law Betty and Catherine, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by wife Geraldine, parents Dwight and Harriet, and brothers Bruce and Graham. It was Donald's wish for there to be no formal Service. An informal gathering to celebrate his life with family and friends will be held at the Desert Palms Room, in the Carriage House Inn, located at 9030 Macleod Trail South, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2008.
