BARD, Harry MD. 1935 - 2008 Entouré par son épouse et ses enfants bien aimés, Belinda et Anders, Harry est décédé paisiblement, le 26 septembre à l'âge de 72 ans. C'était un homme très bon et aimable. Nous nous souviendrons de Harry pour sa grande générosité et compassion dont il a fait preuve à l'endroit de tous ceux qu'il rencontrait. BRENNAN (nee Remillard), Norma - The family announces with sorrow her death at St. Joseph's Villa on September 27th, 2008. Daughter of the late Hillaire and Mabel Remillard. Wife of the late Doug Brennan. Loving mother of 5 children - Valerie Brennan of London, On., Gary Brennan, (Julie) of Sudbury, Beverly Armstrong, (Mike) of Copper Cliff, Tim Brennan of Penticton, B.C., and Shelley Horner (John) of North Bay. Special friend in later years of the late Charles Ristimaki. Sadly missed by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Norma worked at Eatons of Canada for 28 years. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion and an active member of the Copper Cliff United Church. She was a citizen volunteer with the Sudbury Regional Police for 3 years. Norma met Doug in Montreal while she was entertaining Canada's troops during world war 2. She loved music, singing and dancing and being on stage. In later years Norma sang and danced in the Canadian Legion production of, “Till We Meet Again“, which played throughout northern Ontario. Norma loved and savoured life, living it to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling and visited many far off places. She always made the best of every situation and looked for the best in others. Norma was very proud of her children and enjoyed a special relationship with all of her grand-children and great grand-children. Norma's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at St. Joseph's Villa and especially Gardenway and Hillcrest neighbourhoods. Their dedication, kindness, generosity and tireless efforts will never be forgotten. BROCKLEBANK, Norman Scoffield 1917-2008, Veteran WW II - Peacefully passed away while sleeping, at Barrie Manor on Friday, September 26, 2008, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Lyla Lambertus for 65 wonderful years. Adored and admired father of Gayle and her husband Peter Kirk of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of two granddaughters, who he loved deeply, Katie Kirk of Barrie and Megan Kirk of Victoria, BC. Survived by his brother Roy and wife Agnes of Listowel, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Parker Brocklebank of Cargill, a brother Clarence of Elmwood and a sister Isobel Procknow of Kitchener. Norman and Lyla lived in Orangeville for 52 years and then moved to Barrie in 1998 to be with their family. Norm was a motor mechanic all his life. He served 4 years in the army WWII with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) from 1942-1946. They moved to Orangeville and he worked for R.D. Bryan and Co. as the Service Manager for 10 years. He went into business for himself, and was the Mercury Dealer from 1957-1973. Norm worked for Gordon Davenport Automotive Supply from 1975 to retirement in 1982. He will be remembered fondly by his family as a wonderful friend; a gentle man and guiding light, always honest, steadfast and predictable. The family sincerely appreciates the care by Dr. D.J. Beecroft, the staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital, Veterans Affairs Canada, Whispering Pines Retirement Residence and especially the staff of Barrie Manor. We have been so appreciative of the professional assistance of the Community Care Access Center in Barrie. Special, loving care has been provided by Mary Marlene and Rena of St. Elizabeth Health Care Simcoe over the past many months which allowed Norm to remain as independent as possible. Diligent and wonderful care has been provided lately by Bayshore Nurses to assist in his comfort and peaceful transition to his end of a wonderful life. We have been truly blessed. Il était l'époux de feu Thérèse Gingras et le fils de feu Anna Lagacé et de feu Raoul Garneau. Il laisse dans le deuil ses 2 fils : Claude (Jocelyne Fournier) et Gilbert (Francine Bouliane); ses 2 filles : Louise (Louis-Georges Brazeau) et Danielle (Guy Mutchmore); ses 7 petits-enfants: Jean-François (Johanne Fiset), Jean-Marc (Hélène Pelletier), Mélanie (Patrick Côté), Gaby (Francis Leblanc), Gabrielle, Alexandre et Mathieu; ses 11 arrière-petits-enfants: Daphné, Marie-Pier, Alexis, Félix, Annabelle, Noémie, Jasmin, Miguel, Cassandra, Ludovic et Jeanne; ses 2 soeurs: Monique (Roger Lemay) et Marielle (feu André Lajoie); ses 2 belles-soeurs: Marguerite (Gérard Bertrand) et Claire ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousin(e)s et ami(e)s. Il fut prédécédé par son fils Joseph; par son frère Bernard (Rachel Lahaie) et par ses 3 soeurs: Isabelle (feu Georges Laurin), Thérèse (feu Michel Lefebvre) et Claudette (Ernest Nielson). Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Une célébration de prières, en présence des cendres, aura lieu le jeudi 2 octobre à 10h à LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS sise au 95, boul. Cité-des-Jeunes à Gatineau (secteur Hull). La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 9h30. Pour ceux qui le désirent, des dons à la Maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie ou au CLSC (secteur Hull) seraient appréciés. La famille désire remercier de facon très particulière, l'équipe du CLSC de Hull ainsi que le personnel et les bénévoles de la Maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie pour les excellents soins prodigués et leur soutien.
