CLEVELAND, JOYCE ELIZABETH - Annapolis Royal. After a short and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully and with dignity on August 2nd, 2008, in the Annapolis Community Health Center, Annapolis Royal, N.S, at the age of 69. Born in Saint John, N.B, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Winnifred (Teare) Mawhinney formerly of Maces Bay, N.B. Joyce graduated from Eastern Charlotte Regional School, St. George N.B, and teachers college in Fredericton N.B; she taught in Blacks Harbour N.B, Rothesay N.B, Devon N.B, Central Kings, Cambridge, Bridgewater and Annapolis Royal from where she retired after teaching 35 years. Upon retirement she and Karl spent several winters in Florida where she enjoyed meeting with her friends and doing water aerobics. She loved to cook, garden and curl. She was a member of the St. Mary's Angelican Church, Belleisle as well the treasurer of St. Mary's Cemetry Fund, She Is survived by her husband karl; step-mother, Joan Mawhinney, Saint John, N.B; sister Pat (Rod) Shewchuk, Kenora, Ont; brothers Keith (Joanne), Chipman, N.B, and Clyde "Bud" (Lydie) Fredericton, N.B, two aunts; and two uncles; several nieces and nephews and cousins; as well as two god children. She was predeceased by aunt, Doreen Snow. Cremation had taken place under the care and direction of the Kaukbach Family Funeral home, Annapolis Royal where visitation will be held tuesday from 7-9pm A memorial service will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday August 6th, in St. Mary's Angelican Church, Belleisle, Annapolis Co, N.B, with Rev. Liz Early officiating assisted by Rev. Canon Ken Vaughan. Interment will take place at a later date. SHARPE, MARGERY T. - The death of Margery Thelma Sharpe of Westfield, wife of the late Donald Sharpe, occurred on Sunday, August 03, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Portland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Thelma (Murray) Chapman. Margery was a member of the Westfield United Church, and was a long time member of the Philip Jergeson Chapter # 18 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Margery will be sadly missed by her daughter, Diane Mooney of Wirral; brother, Ernest Chapman of Wasaga Beach, Ontario; sisters, Josephine Kiss (Frank) of Toronto, Anah LeClair of Angus, Ontario, and Shirley Whittaker (Ron) of Hampton. Margery was "Nana" to granddaughters, Jackie Tieu, Jennifer Bateman (Pat), and Angela Moriarity (Neil), all of Saint John; Suzanne Sharpe of Westfield, and Leanne Bamford (Darron) of Lake George; grandsons Rick Mooney (Bronwyn) of Fredericton, and Roger Mooney (Nancy) of Quispamsis, great grandchildren, Johnason, Jason, Kevin, Jarid, Jorja, and Marli; sisters-in-law, Blanche Rideout of Hartland, Eva Chapman of Kennear Settlement, and Esther Chapman of Grand Bay; special cousins Fay and Joy Somers of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margery was predeceased by a son, Burton Donald Sharpe; son-in-law, John Mooney; brothers, Charles Chapman and Fred Chapman; sisters, Winnifred Misdorf and Lois Goddard; a sister-in-law, Cathy Chapman, and brothers-in-law, Ralph Goddard and Edward LeClair. SOUTHERN, Nellie Beatrice (nee Wilson) - After a courageous battle with Cancer, entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Saturday August 2, 2008 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of Thomas Richard Southern, of Woodville, for 55 years. Cherished and loved mother of Kathy and her husband Russ Clark and Ken and his wife Donna Southern all of Woodville. Treasured grandmother of Rick and his wife Jenna Southern, Joe Southern, Derek Clark, Adam and his wife Stef Clark and great grandmother of Wyatt Southern and Will Clark. CARVALHO, Jacinto 2008-08-05 Mr. Jacinto Carvalho age 67 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2008 with his family by his side. Jacinto was born on January 2, 1941 in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He served in the Portuguese Army, and during his travels he met the love of his life, Augusta. They were married and had five children, and immigrated to Canada and Thunder Bay in 1974. Jacinto worked at Northern Wood Preservers until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed working and had a great work ethic. His spare time was spent in the garden. Jacinto had a great love for his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren was important to him. He always said, "The door is always open" whether family or friends, everyone was welcome in their home. Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Augusta, children Zelia (Wally) Widla, Delio (Kim), Joao (Barbara), Eulalia, Susana (Carmine) Ceci, grandchildren Monique, Cassandra, Olivia, Dale, Brandon, Adam, John-Reese, Tyler, Caprice, Nicholas, Cierra, Victoria. Siblings Soleste (Manuel) Medeiros, Joao (Hirondina), Amancio (Aldina), Jose-Luiz (Olga). Also survived by Lidia Oliveria, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and his dog Maquaquenho. DRURY, DAVID R. - The death of David Reid Drury of McGregor Brook Road occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 3, 2008 at the age of 61. David enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends, whether he was at the camp, curling or hunting. He was a member of the Sussex Gyro Club. He watched NASCAR and always cheered for the Earnhardt's. He loved cars, antiques or new. He was a hockey fan and followed whatever players were in his pool. He had a knack for woodworking and enjoyed giving his creations to others. David is survived by his wife Sheila (Armstrong) Drury; his father Wilfred T.
