Native de Paquetville, elle était fille de feu Charles Hébert et de feu Jeanne LeBreton. Elle laisse dans le deuil deux fils: Régent de Petit-Rocher et Charles (Murielle Pitre) de Beresford; une fille, Ginette Roy, avec qui elle demeurait, de Caraquet; quatre soeurs: Marie-Elizabeth Chiasson (feu Alexandre) de Bois-Blanc, Lilianne (Sévère Doiron) de Caraquet, Théotiste Richard (feu Léonard) de Shippagan et Véronique "Monique" Roy (Johnny Vienneau) de Bathurst; un frère, Alfred Hébert (Marie) de Paquetville; un demi-frère, Bernard LeBouthillier (Monique) de Sainte-Cécile; une petite-fille, Sophie, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, amies et amis. Une soeur, Rosanne, l’a précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle de Mme Duguay sera exposée à compter de 19h, le mardi 22 juillet, au salon LeGresley de Paquetville. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Augustin de Paquetville, le mercredi 23 juillet, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. LEITCH, Ella May - Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, July 20th, 2008. Ella Leitch of Shannonville in her 89th year. Loving daughter of the late Randall and Margaret Smith. Beloved wife of the late William Leitch. Dear mother of Barbara (Harry) Mulvey, Nancy (Charles) Mulvey, John Leitch (Donna) and Robert Leitch all of Shannonville, Lewella (William) Clapp of Trenton, Shelly (Daniel) Goldfarb of Corbyville, and Clare Leitch (Darlene) of Prince Edward County. Survived by sister Vera Lynch of Belleville. Predeceased by her sister Eileen Tripp, brother Clare Smith and daughter Linda Darlene. Beloved wife of the late Charles. Loving mother of Allan and his wife Marie of Napanee, Dwyla of Belleville, Phyllis of Napanee, Nancy and her late husband Earl of Westport, Donald and his wife Rose of Oshawa, the late Reta Pooley and the late Charles and dear mother-in-law of Maureen of Belleville. Bernard "Bernie" Thibideau BATHURST - Bernard "Bernie" Thibideau, 58, of St. Anne St., Bathurst, passed away suddenly on Friday (July 11, 2008) at his residence. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Lee and Leona (Legacy) Thibideau. He was a former employee of the New Brunswick Liquor Commission. He is survived by five brothers, George (Adeline) and Daniel both of Toronto, ON, Raymond (Judi) of Nepean, ON, Donald (Carol) of Fredericton, NB, Bill (Patricia) of Bathurst, three sisters, Mary Sue Burns and Mary Paula Thibideau both of Bathurst, Bonnie Lee Thibideau of Saint John, NB; several nieces and nephews. LLOYD, PAUL WILLIAM Paul Lloyd was born in Berwick, NS in 1929. Paul passed away quietly at the Oromocto Public Hospital with his family by his side at the age of 78. He spent twelve years in the Canadian Armed Forces serving his country until he was medically discharged. He then worked as a foreman at UNB and also at Base Gagetown. He was then self-employed until he was not able to work any longer. He was a member of the Legion Branch #93 in Oromocto for 23 years. He was a very caring husband and father and was liked by all who knew him. Surviving Paul is his wife, Evelyn (Smith) Lloyd; children, Brenda (Carl) Hilchey, Michael (Kathy) Lloyd, Derek Lloyd, Kevin Lloyd, Carolyn (Steven) White, Christine (Michael) Henry, Theodore (Kelly) Mahar; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much; sister, Joyce (Hayden) Tremere; and brother, Hugh Lloyd. Paul is predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Christine (Lee) Lloyd as well as several aunts and uncles. There will be no service by request. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NB Lung Association. Adrienne Arseneau Mrs. Adrienne Arseneau, 73, wife of Sylvio Arseneau, Rough Waters Drive, Bathurst, which occurred Friday July 18, 2008 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of Hilda Boucher of Acton, Ont. and the late Harold Boucher. She worked for K Mart, as assistant manager of the Cafeteria, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good VC Br 18, avid bingo player, and member of the Liberal Association, also a volunteer for many organizations. She is survived by: a son, Richard (Donna) of Bathurst; three daughters, Wanda (Linda) of Bathurst, Christine ''Tina'' (John Price) of London, Ont. and Donna-Lee (Shawn Jagoe) of Milton Ont; nine grandchildren, Cassandra, Trina, Steven, Brandi, Brody, Sarah, Logan, Tabbitha and Jamie; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Declan, Benjamin and Isabella; five brothers, Leonard (Janet), Rheal, Sylvain (Delcina), Rodney (Annette), Owen (Deborah) all of Bathurst; four sisters, Alma (late Harvey) Lapointe, Mona (Gérald) Doucet both of Bathurst, Rowena (Robert) Dingee of Dalhousie, Sheila (Steven) Bélanger of Bathurst; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Albanie and Jarvis Boucher. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. RIOUX, JOSEPH AUREL (AL) July 15, 2008 Joseph Aurel (Al) Rioux passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Victoria, B.C. following a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, N.B. on June 23, 1920, he was the middle child in a family of thirteen children. Following service with the Air Force during World War II, he earned his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, settling in Fredericton. Working with his brothers, he went on to found several companies, including Rioux Realty and Maritime Bricklayers, with offices and construction projects throughout the Maritime Provinces for many years. He was responsible for the design and building of many landmarks in the Maritimes, including the Lord Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Playhouse and St. Dunstan's Catholic Church in Fredericton, as well as various buildings at UNB, Saint Thomas University and University of PEI. In 1980 he became Vice President and General Manager of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business in Toronto, serving in this capacity until 1987, when he retired and moved to Sooke, B.C. He remained there until his illness this year. A community and political activist throughout his life, Al ran for political office at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, and served in many roles with various organizations, including Chambers of Commerce in Fredericton and Sooke, Kiwanis, the Kinsmen, the Rotary Club, the Garrison Club, and others. He was a founding member of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. For the last several years of his life, Al was an avid member of and fundraiser for the Canadian Legion. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Al is survived by his daughter Colleen of Calgary; son Kerry and his wife Carol (Boal), also of Calgary; daughter Holly Pierlot and son-in-law Philip of Morrell, P.E.I, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Marguerite, brothers John, Nap, Cleo and Roland, and sisters Agnes, Nanette, Elzere and Theresa; as well as several in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Paul and Richard and sisters Yvonne and Pauline. A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Calgary. May he rest in peace.

GRASS, MAVIS D. - The death of Mavis Doreen Grass of Sussex occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on July 19, 2008 at the age of 76. Born at Rusagonis, NB, a daughter of the late William and Frances (Mersereau) O'Leary. Mavis was the wife of the late Robert M. Grass who passed away in 2001. She is survived by her sons; Richard (Janet) Grass of Crawford Lake, Sherman (Jan) Grass of Picadilly, Timothy (Judy) Grass of Red Deer, AB and Rodney (Sharon) Grass of Wards Creek, grandchildren, Becky and Steven Grass, Jeffrey (Mindy) Grass and great grandson, Jesse; sister, Isabell Calhoun of Keswick, NB and brother, Horace O'Leary (Marg) of Beamsville, ON. Besides her parents and husband, Mavis was predeceased by a sister, Gladys McLaughlin. GALBRAITH, JOYCE A. - The death of Joyce A. Galbraith of Saint John, wife of the late John G. Galbraith, occurred on Monday, July 21, 2008, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born at Tide Head, she was a daughter of the late G. Henry and Theresa (Callaghan) Gerrard. Joyce was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Canadian Women's Army Corps. She was a member of the Kennebecasis Branch # 58 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Legion. Joyce is survived by a son, Paul A. Galbraith of Toronto, Ontario; two daughters, Carole Ann of Toronto and Susan Louise of Halifax; a brother, Earl Gerrard of Moncton; two sisters, Isabel Ellsworth of Tide Head and Maxine Price (Murray) of Campbellton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by a son, David Galbraith; and by two brothers, Allan and Kenneth. FOLKINS, CLARA - Mrs. Clara Folkins formerly of the Anglican Church Homes 857 Main Street Sussex passed away on July 21, 2008 at the age of 94. Clara is survived by three daughters: Jean (Rev. FAWCETT, IDA - The death of Ida Fawcett of Hanwell, and formerly of Plaster Rock, N.B. occurred at the Pine Grove Nursing Home on Sunday, July 20th, 2008. Born in Wales, UK, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lily (Price) Kerton and the wife of the late Donald Fawcett. Ida graduated from Normal School and taught school for many years in Plaster Rock and surrounding areas while subsequently earning her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Teaching Degrees. She enjoyed playing Piano, Knitting and Crocheting. An active member of Saint George's in Plaster Rock for many years, she attended Christ Church (Parish) Church since her retirement in the Fredericton area. She will be sadly missed by her loving family. Survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Spinney (Clyde) of Hanwell; two sons, Earle (Barbara) of Plaster Rock and Tommy (Nikki) of Minto; three grandchildren, Matthew, Gillian and Peter; one brother, Doug Kerton (Cherri) of BC; three sisters, Rose Charters of Charters Settlement, Pearl Smith (Merle) of New Maryland and Joan Cowie of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. MCCRACKEN, PHILIP RUSSELL Philip Russell McCracken of Fredericton Junction, NB passed away at his home on July 19, 2008 at the age of 55. Philip is survived by three brothers, John (Alice), Moncton, Ronald (Joan), Martinon, William (Karen), Tracy; three nieces, April (Michael) Harvey, Heather (Joe) Cavanaugh, Beth (Serge) Quinlan; and one nephew, Christopher McCracken; two great nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Philip had been employed with NB Power for several years and enjoyed the past number of years working on the family homestead, he loved spending time with his brothers and their families at the camp. THIBEAULT, Eric Joseph 2008-07-22 Eric Joseph Thibeault March 23, 1957 – July 21, 2008 After a more than 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer, Eric Thibeault passed away peacefully at his home in White River, Ontario on July 21, 2008. Eric is survived by his wife of 30 years Melodie (nee Talbot) in White River, and this three daughters Amanda Walchuk (husband Kevin) and grandson John in Oshawa; Kathleen Thibeault (Maurice Townsend) in Pickering and Randi Thibeault in Wawa. Also by his parents Clifford and Maria Thibeault and brother Danny Thibeault of Cartier. Eric was a proud and active member of the White River Lions Club for 20 years and will be sadly missed by everyone. Visitation will be held at Lougheed‘s Funeral Home on Regent Street Sudbury on Friday, July 25th between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., with a funeral service at St. Francis Xavier Church in Cartier at 11:00 on Saturday July 26th. A memorial service will be held in White River on Monday, July 28th at the Senior‘s Harmony Club at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Lady Dunn Hospital Foundation. STOKALUK, Steve 2008-07-22 Mr. Steve Stokaluk age 87 years a resident of Merrill Street passed away with his family by his side on July 19, 2008 at St. Joseph‘s Care Group. Born in Port Arthur, Steve was a lifelong resident of the City. Steve began his working career with New Idea Sheet Metal and later retired from Thunder Bay Heating and Ventilating. He was a charter member of the Thunder Bay Golf Association, Past President of the Strathcona Golf Club and a longtime member of the Port Arthur Curling Club. Steve also enjoyed coaching both Minor League and Junior Hockey. He was an ardent hunter, fishermen and bridge player. Both he and Phyllis spent many winters in Las Vegas and they traveled extensively to Florida, California, Hawaii and the Bahamas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Phyllis, sons Donald (Linda) and Steve (Frances), grandchildren: Stephen Stokaluk, Cheryl (Dale) McGinnis, Stephanie (Giorgio) Prete and Donna (Bart) McLean, great-grandchildren: Michael , Justin and Sydney McGinnis, Savannah and Athena Prete, Brandon and Nicole McLean and Dawn Stokaluk, brothers Lawrence (Elsie) of St. Catherines, ON, Emil (Effie), Julien (Nellie) of Thunder Bay and sister-in-law Hilka of North Bay, ON. LEHTINEN (nee Gawryletz), Mary 2008-07-22 Mary Lehtinen, (nee Gawryletz) age 91 years, passed away peacefully in Dawson Court on Monday, July 21, 2008. Mary was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on April 14, 1917. She moved to Toronto, ON as a young woman during WWII, where she met and married Leo Lehtinen, and later moved to Thunder Bay where she raised their four children. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Arvi (Pat), Linda, Allan (Rita), and David (Nazare); devoted grandmother to Jim, Cathy, Michael, Shayna, Jason, Tanya (Cory), Tiffanie (Jeremy), Tamara (Shawn), Jesse (Ti), Landen, Lexi, Lucas, and a devoted great grandmother. She was a very kind and considerate person, remembering everyone‘s birthdays as well as participating in all special occasions. Mary was a strong and independent woman with a quick wit and a heart of gold. She took on the role of caregiver, not only to her children, but also their friends. She never turned anyone away and always had a place for those who didn‘t. Mary enjoyed traveling, especially to see her niece Jean where they would often embark on new adventures. She loved to play BINGO and had a soft spot for nickel slots at the Casino. She also spent many hours gardening, blueberry picking, and camping with her family. Mary was predeceased by her parents; siblings; and special grandchildren Christopher and Patrick. Funeral Services for the late Mary Lehtinen will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. CLIPPERTON, Doug - Suddenly on Friday July 18th 2008, Doug Clipperton of Strathroy and formerly of London, passed away in his 66th year. Beloved friend, companion and husband of Corrine Clipperton. Grandmother of Jason Schwab (Sheri) of California, Rachel Meharg (Chris) of Sarnia and Timothy Schwab (Janis) of B.C. Sister of Noreen Heuser and Jeanie Clancy (Henry) all of Arizona. Predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Mary Schwab (1973). Born in Marysville, Michigan, graduating as valedictorian from St. Stephen's High School in Port Huron in 1942, marrying her high school sweetheart in 1946 before moving to Sarnia in 1950. Kathleen worked for the FBI in New York City and was the recipient of the FBI Certificate of Honorable War Service presented by J. Edgar Hoover for her services during World War II. She was a member of the C.W.L. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. She was also the office manager for her husband's practice for 23 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, July 24th at 11:00 am with Father Len Desjardins, the Celebrant. LA FAMILLE STE-MARIE a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de Me MICHEL STE-MARIE est décédé le 19 juillet 2008, à l'âge de 67 ans. Michel est connu dans la région de l'Outaouais où il a pratiqué le droit en pratique privée pendant plusieurs années. Issu d'une famille d'avocats, il a suivi les traces de son grand-père Wilfrid et son père Joseph qui, avant lui, avaient eux aussi pratiqué le droit en pratique privée dans la ville de Hull. Peu de temps après avoir été reçu au barreau, il s'est joint à Louis Bertrand et à Paul Bertrand pour fonder la Société Bertrand, Ste-Marie, Larouche sur la rue Principale à Hull. En 1979, il a choisi de continuer à pratiquer seul sur la rue Champlain. Il s'établit d'abord dans la maison où ses grands-parents Ste-Marie avaient eu leur résidence plusieurs décennies auparavant. Quelques années plus tard, il déménage au 175 Champlain dans le même immeuble où son oncle Marcel avait son bureau d'arpenteur géomètre et où son cousin Jacques Marcel pratiquait comme notaire. Michel a eu une longue et belle carrière dans le domaine du droit civil. Sa pratique l'a amené à faire beaucoup de droit commercial. Il avait un côté pratique que ses clients en affaires aimaient et respectaient. Il maîtrisait bien le droit de la preuve et de la procédure civile ce qui en faisait un adversaire redoutable devant les tribunaux. Il a comparu dans plusieurs causes importantes. La plus célèbre est sans doute l'affaire Maloney qui s'est rendue jusqu'en Cour suprême du Canada. Il a aussi agit comme avocat-conseil devant la Cour suprême du Canada aux côtés de Me Agnès Laporte dans la cause de R. v. Côté (1996) 3 S.C.R.139, une importante affaire de droit autochtone. Homme de principe, il était un travailleur infatigable pour défendre les causes qui lui paraissaient justes. Il a été très généreux de son temps lorsqu'il s'agissait de voir aux affaires de la profession. Il a contribué à plusieurs travaux importants du barreau local et du barreau de province. Il a servi comme bâtonnier du barreau local pendant 1 an, de 1982 à 1983. Il a aidé plusieurs avocats avec moins d'expérience que lui à s'établir. Il est prédécédé par son épouse, Me.D. Wendy McLean, et laisse dans le deuil sa fille Tara Willis (son époux Mark) et sa petite-fille Emilie, son frère Jean Ste-Marie c.r. et son épouse Josette ainsi que leurs deux fils, François et Marc. OBITUARY FRANCIS (FRANK) PATRICK McLARNON 1922 - 2008 With peace and dignity, at the Veteran's Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Frank died in the early hours of July 19th at the age of eighty-six. Surrounded by his loving family he left us for a better place. Survived by his wife Cecile (Simonelli), he was a loving Father of David, Karen (Clark) and was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lydia, a cherished Grandfather (Papa) to Mitchell, Kayleigh and Courtney, Elizabeth and Daniel, Jason and Monica, a Great-Grandfather to Cassidy, and a brother to John, and was predeceased by his siblings Agnes, Mary, Theresa, and Gerald. Frank was a veteran of WWII, and served overseas with the Toronto Scottish Regiment. He was a gentleman and a gentle man, a strong, kind and patient man who will be greatly missed and forever cherished by family and friends. OBITUARY JOHN L. TOOLE Aged ninety-five, passed away July 14, 2008. He was born February 16, 1913 in London, Ontario Canada. John lived most of his working years in Montreal and retired at age sixty-five years after a very accomplished career at Canadian National Railway as a Vice President and Chairman of CN Investment. At retirement, John moved to Ormand Beach and later Jacksonville. He was very active in golf both on the course having played into his late eighties and off-the-course on the executive of golf clubs in both Montreal and Ormand Beach. He is predeceased by his wife Elaine Patricia Toole who he married in 1943; brother, Grant Toole; sister, Marion Wood; Father, Wade Toole and Mother, Mable Leary; brother-in-law, Kenneth Augustine Callen; sister-in-law, Bernice Callen. JOBSON, Herbert Henry 1921 - 2008 Herb Jobson passed away at the Bethany Care Centre Harvest Hills on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the age of 87 years. Herb is survived by Hazel, his loving wife of fifty-seven years; son Brian (Melanie); daughters Maureen (Ranald Gault) and Valerie; grandsons Jeffrey (Jennifer) and Calen; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his sisters Edith Hall and Violet Esler. Herb was the child of pioneers, and grew up on the family farm east of Balzac, AB. He attended Butte School and Parkway School locally, and Crescent Heights High School in Calgary. He took over the farm when his parents retired and farmed for most of his life. Herb married Hazel Mills on July 18, 1951. He was an active member of the community, involved with Balzac United Church, Balzac Hall, the Airdrie Over-50 Club and many other activities. He always enjoyed socializing with his family, friends and neighbors; and he cheered on his children and grandchildren at sporting and musical events. POFFENROTH, Harold April 4, 1924 - July 20, 2008 Harold Poffenroth of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Intercare Chinook Care Centre on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Harold was born on April 4, 1924 at the General Hospital in Calgary. He was the only son of Henry Charles Poffenroth and Mary Kromm. Harold's father emigrated from Russia in 1912 and homesteaded in the DeWinton area. On December 1, 1945 Harold married his beloved wife Bernice (Babe) Goettler and together they carried on the tradition of farming on his parents' land. They later continued farming in the Gladys Ridge area. The family retired into city life in Calgary choosing the community of Kingsland in the 1960's. Harold had a love for roses that still bloom today for the Kingsland residents that he befriended over the years. He was a simple man, with strong values. Harold will be sadly missed by his family, Dennis and Mary of NB, Brian and Cheryl of Calgary, Garry of Red Deer, Gail and Terry Glascock of SK; grandchildren; Kim, Kelly, Laura, Amy, Krista, Trevor, Joseph and Jason and by three great-grandchildren. RIGNAULT, Duke (Dukestr) November 3, 1950 - July 19, 2008 Duke passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the age of 57 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his two children, David and Nicolette; brothers, Terry and David; and sister Anne. He was predeceased by his parents Bob and Angela. Duke was born in Trinidad and moved with Helen to Calgary in 1975. He spent most of his life working in the oilpatch, starting as a roughneck and most recently as Contract Sales Manager with Trinidad Drilling. Duke was a fierce competitor and a lovable and loyal friend. Duke's greatest joys in life were his marriage to Helen and the birth of his two children. He shared many diverse passions from competing in mixed martial arts tournaments, making wine and his "famous" hot sauce, to playing the guitar with his close friends. The Dukestr brought love and laughter to all. He will be forever remembered for his genuine love of people, his many practical jokes and his infectious laughter.
