GARRIOCK, Ruth (Labelle) 2008-07-17 It is with great sadness that the family announces the loss of Ruth Garriock on July 14 with her family by her side. Ruth was born in Fort William on September 10, 1916 to Sarah Jane (Cashmore) and Fabian Labelle, the youngest of 11 children. Ruth met her best friend and married Gordon Garriock on May 24, 1941. Survived by daughter Gordie, grandson Michael Humeniuk, Paola (Marcolin) & Lindsay; grandson David Humeniuk and niece Linda Dufour (Joe). Numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at St. Domenic‘s Church, Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00am with Father Dan Lapolla officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the TBHRHSC Angioplasty Unit or Rotary Foundation c/o Fort William Rotary Club.

MACKENZIE, FRANCIS BARRY, "SPUD" - Of Hampstead passed away unexpectedly in Grand Falls on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Born in Charlottown, PEI, August 22, 1949 he was a son of the late Lester and Jessie (McRae) MacKenzie. Barry was employed at NB Power for the past five years and prior to that he worked and had several trades at the Saint John Shipyard for 27 years. He also served with the Canadian Armed Forces in Cyprus during the 1960's. He enjoyed antique cars, riding motorcycles and reading, but his greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife; Marlyn Mae MacKenzie; three sons, Stewart MacKenzie of Saint John, Danny MacKenzie (Donna) of Saint John and Trevor MacKenzie (Lisa) of Victoria, BC; one daughter, Crystal-Dawn of Saint John; three brothers, Jackie MacKenzie (Lilly), Alexander MacKenzie (Wilma) and Robert MacKenzie, all of PEI; three sisters, Laverne McGuigan (Michael), Ida Williams and Ruth Jenkins (Brian), all of PEI; five grandchildren, Devan, Tori, Damien, Brianna and Ethan; brothers-in-law, Allen Marshall (Arlene), Raymond Marshall and Wayne Marshall (Susan), and sisters-in-law, Leslie Marshall and Karen (Jerry Adams); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by three brothers, Roy, William and Niel. MCINNIS, CHARLES EMMERSON At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008, CHARLES EMMERSON McINNIS of Chipman, passed away at 49 years of age. Survived by his mother, Joyce (Hatfield) McInnis of Labrador City; by brother Mark (Lea) McInnis of Mississauga; by sisters Nancy (Rod) McGrath of Labrador City, Janice (Allan) Chen of Oakville, Ontario and Sheila Burton of Kitimat, British Columbia; and by four nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Charles Emmerson McInnis and his brother Dwight McInnis. There will be no visitation at the request of Chuck. Funeral service will be held from the Christian Life Centre, Chipman, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18th, 2008 with Rev. Dennis Sisco officiating. Interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery. OAGLES, MARY ELBIRA - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on July 15, 2008, Mrs. Mary Elbira (McLaughlin) Oagles, wife of the late Lesley Carr Oagles and the late Cedric Scott of Blacks Harbour NB went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born at Honeydale NB on October 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Scott) McLaughlin. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Mary is survived by two daughters, Lousie (Guy) McLaughlin of Blacks Harbour, Helen (Doug) Robillard of Ottawa ON; one son, Calvin (Thersea) Scott of Andersonville NB; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Doris McLaughlin of Saint John NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husbands, Cedric and Les, Mary was predeceased by three daughters, Erma Hannington, Barbara Thorne and Judy Ayotte; five brothers, Naaman, Quincy, Keith, Frank and Cecil; two sisters, Cora Regan and Ella McLaughlin. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked for many years at the factory for Connors Bros. at Blacks Harbour. She was a member of the United Pentecoastal Church at Blacks Harbour. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and serving her Lord. Resting at the United Pentecoastal Church, Blacks Harbour, from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Phil Anderson, Rev. Ivan Perry and Rev. Andrew Regich officiating. The interment will follow at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Mary's memory donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. SAINIO,Margitta 2008-07-17 Mrs. Margitta Elsa Sainio, aged 80 years, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on July 17, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospice. The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to all the nurses at the Regional and St. Joseph’s and especially to Drs. Johnson, Lai, Mapeso and Davis and Pastor Dave Haberstock. Marg was predeceased by her parents, Erika and Wolfgang Roetscher, brother Horst Roetscher and sister Ilse St. John. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Reino; son Wilfred and wife Carol; daughter Annemarie and husband Mike Prpic; granddaughter Jennifer and husband Mike Picard; granddaughter Marcia and husband Ed Foekens and grandson Raymond and wife Marissa Sainio. She had a strong passion for and was very proud of her great-grandchildren Joshua and Alec Picard, Landon and Lucas Foekens and Sarah Sainio. Also holding fond memories of Marg are her brother Ingo Roetscher and partner Cindy Cockell; sister Ingrid Sabatier and sister Ursula Flesher and husband Stan; brother-in-law Bill St. John and sister-in-law Denise Roetscher. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She was affectionately known by everyone as "granny" and she frequently demonstrated her love with heartfelt, handwritten notes expressing how much her loved ones meant to her. She deeply enjoyed gardening, photography, their family camp and her many trips across North America with her beloved husband Reino. She volunteered many hours at the Shelter House preparing meals and knitting for those in need. Her deep sense of joy and peace came from her strong faith in God and her extended church family. Friends and family wishing to honor Marg’s memory with a memorial donation are asked to contribute to the Epiphany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. A memorial reception to celebrate Marg’s life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 499 Dewe Avenue, with Pastor Dave Haberstock officiating.

MITCHELL, “Jim“ James Fraser “Windy“ - In loving memory of Jim Mitchell, 90 years of Sudbury who passed away Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at Extendicare- Falconbridge, Sudbury. Jim was born in Parry Sound and married Violet (Dini) in 1945 in Toronto. Jim had been the warehouse supervisor at Falconbridge Ltd. retiring in 1978 with 43 years service. When Jim was younger he loved the outdoors, spending many hours fishing and hunting. He was a Ham Radio Operator for several years and his call letters were VE3 ESM. Many summers were enjoyed with family and friends at the cottage on Lake Mindemoya. Jim was one of the forgotten Heros of WW2. Jim was captured on December 25, 1941 and spent the entire war as a P.O.W. in a Japanese Concentration Camp. His presence and sense of humour will be missed by all. Beloved husband of Violet (Dini) Mitchell predeceased 2002. Loving father of Jim (Diane), Darlene (John Moffat), Christine (Richard Lefebvre), Landa (Eric Cormier), Cathy Gregorchuk (John Blouin) and Colleen (Mark Steiman). Cherished grandfather of Jim Jr., Shannon, Michael, Danielle, Rik, Tony, Jennifer, Ashleigh, Mitchell, Carly, Rachel, Jason, Jamie and great grandchildren Angelo, Roma, Madison, Emily, Samantha, Jacob and Fischer. BOUDREAU, Edouard “Eddie“ - In loving memory of Edouard “Eddie“ Boudreau, 71 years, who passed away at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian Site, on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008. Beloved husband of Pierrette Fusz of Azilda. Loving father of Robert Boudreau (Vicki) of Cartier and Gilles Boudreau (Carolle) of Sudbury and step-father of Ron Fusz (Rita) and Michael Fusz ( Marilyn), both of Manitouwadge, and Carole Tricco (John) of Onaping. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Dear brother of Omer (Georgette) of Ottawa, Marie-Louise Boudreau of Bathurst, New Brunswick and the late Auguste (surviving wife Annette of Sudbury), Martha and Leonard, all predeceased. Cherished son of Edmond and Eugenie Boudreau, both predeceased. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his little dog Samantha. Eddie was born in Allardville, New Brunswick on December 12th, 1936. He came to the Sudbury area in the late 1950's where he worked as a truck driver for several years and then in the maintenance department at Cambrian College. He was known as an avid musician. RONALD JACK Thursday, July 17, 2008 Ronald Jack, 63, of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. He was born July 14, 1945 to Stewart and Mary Jack in Kenora, Ont. He lived in the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation all of his life. Ronald loved to be outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake. He worked as guide for many years before losing his leg to diabetes. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing hockey and pool, as well as participating in other sports. Ronald leaves behind his wife, Shannon Martin of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation; children, Gwen Louise Jack of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation, Caroline Jack of Kenora, Ont., Joseph Jack (Jeanette) of Nestor Falls, Ont., Dean Jack (Beatrice) and Nicole Skead of Kenora, Ont., Ron Jack (Douidet) of Dryden, Ont., and Andrew Suave of Cornwall, Ont. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Bruyere; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Mary Jack; brothers, Howard and Harold Jack; sisters, Ida Jourdain and Olive Jack; son, Patrick Jack; daughters, Delia Bryant and Barbara Kewaykabo; and stillborn daughter, Rhonda Jack. A wake will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 3 p.m. at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation gymnasium. DISLEY, Nora (Nee Adam) Born in Lanark on June 17th, 1918. Passed away peacefully at the Garden Terrace Nursing Home, Kanata on Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Joe Disley, 1960. Dear father of Suzanne Welch (Peter) and Glen (Tanis). Adoring "Poppa" of Gabrielle Welch and Pippa Shortt. Survived by brother Dr Jim Shortt, Sarasota Florida. Will be missed by brothers and sisters-in- law, Gail and Claude Lalonde, Ian and Lorna Stoddart, Leslie Shortt and nieces and nephews Michelle and Paul Lalonde, Dr Karen Stoddart, Allison Stoddart, Andrew Stoddart, and Scott Shortt. Bill was the son of Dr Charles Shortt and Winnifred (Worsnop) Shortt. He graduated in Civil Engineering from UNB in 1962 and from the University of Western Ontario in 1964 with an MBA. He worked for the T Eaton Co for many years, the Toronto Board of Trade and since 1994 USC Registered Education Savings Plans Inc. Since 1998 Bill and Linda lived at Windstone Farm in Beckwith Township, where Bill was able to fulfill his dreams of huge vegetable gardens and growing the best garlic. DeMAERE, Margaret Pearl October 2, 1939 - July 15, 2008 Margaret Pearl DeMaere (Hawkins) passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on July 15, 2008 with her husband and all her children gathered around her. Pearl was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on October 2, 1939. She grew up in Red Deer, Alberta. Pearl graduated in the 1961 Class of Nursing at the University Hospital in Edmonton. After graduating Pearl started her first job as an RN at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary. She met Doral in 1962 and they got married in 1963. They lived in the United States from 1964 to 1969 where three of their children were born. They moved back to Calgary in 1969. Pearl loved gardening and had a beautiful garden and was a member of the Rose Society. She loved doing family history work and has done a great amount of research on her ancestors. She has left a wonderful record of her family's history. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and mother. She was frugal in meeting her own needs, but generous to her family and friends. Despite all her health problems, she was a kind and patient ray of light to everyone. Pearl loved all of her friends, classmates and colleagues and thought of them often. She treasured her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she appreciated all those who visited her over the years. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her husband Doral, her five children: Julie, Roch (Roslyn), Andra (Pat), Chris, Catherine as well as her eight grandchildren, her sister Doreen Girard, nephew Mark Girard, and many others whose lives she touched. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Maureen, Dr. Heimbach, Dr. Chan, the staff at the Rockyview Hospital as well as all the other people that have attended to her over the years. THOMAS, Stanley E. Of Cochrane, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2008, at the age of 89. Stan will be lovingly remembered by his children, Grant, Glen and Wendy and his four grandchildren, Dan (Dionne), Kristi (Jeff), Shari and Rob and five great-grandchildren, Adriana, Dylan, Alyssa, Devin and Asher, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his wife Coral, and sister Ferne. Stan was born on December 11, 1918 in Durban, Manitoba and was raised in Swan River. At the age of fourteen, Stan's family moved to Southern Alberta and settled in Picture Butte. As a young man he served in WWII with the 14th Troop Carrying Company. Following the war, he returned to Alberta where he married the love of his life Coral and together the couple raised three children. He was an avid sportsman and a natural athlete as well as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over sixty-two years. Stan spent the last years of his life in Cochrane. He will be deeply missed but has left his loving family with many wonderful memories. PRUNER, Herbert Wesley - Died at St. Catharines General Hospital on Monday, July 14, 2008 in his 86th year of life. Predeceased by his wife, Dulcie (May 11, 1986). Survived by his wife and devoted companion, Reta Hodgson, whom he married on February 14, 2003. Beloved father to David Pruner (wife Cindy) and Karen Kish (husband Karl) and loving stepfather to Margaret Hodgson and Patricia Hodgson-Carruth. Much loved grandfather to four grandchildren - Evan, Katie, Leah, and Philip - and proud great grandfather of baby Bryson. Dear brother of George (wife Kay) and Don (wife Joan) and remembered by many nephews and nieces. Fondly remembered by lifetime friend John Shore (wife Thelma), best friend George Towle, and sadly missed by neighbours and friends in the community. Herb retired as an inspector from TRW in 1987, but continued working in sales for Talbot Marketing for the next 21 years, and is thus remembered by his many clients in the Niagara area. Herb came to St. Catharines in 1936, where he raised his two children, shared in the lives of his four grandchildren, and saw the birth of his great grandson on December 7, 2007. He was devoted to the four generations of his family and will be always loved and remembered by all of them. At Herb's request, cremation has taken place. EVERETT E. GREEN JR. Thursday, July 17, 2008 Everett E. Green Jr., 81, of International Falls, Mn., passed away June 28, 2008 at the Falls Good Samaritan Center in International Falls. He was born Aug. 28, 1926 in Virginia, Mn. to Everett and Ella Mae Green (Peterson). He graduated from the Falls High School in 1944. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean War. Following his honourable discharge from the army, Everett spent 25 years with the army reserve. He also was employed with Boise Cascade, retiring in 1988. Everett enjoyed spending time at the cabin with family and friends, and volunteered for many years at the Falls Good Samaritan Center. He also enjoyed going to Muskie hockey games. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, Ont., where he sang in the choir for many years and served on council, and also enjoyed Bible studies. Everett was a kind and thoughtful man, and loved giving little presents to people and making beautiful hooked rugs to give to everyone. “Big Unc” will be greatly missed and always loved and remembered by his family and friends. We were very blessed to have him as our uncle. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett E. Green Sr. and Ella Mae (Peterson) Green; brother, Edgar Green in 1991; brother-in-law, Allan Freeman in 1993; sister, Edna (Green) Freeman in 2001; infant nephew, James Freeman in 1952; and by special family friend, Zelma Golnick in April, 2008. Survivors include his nephews, Allen (Kathy) of Brampton, Ont., Everett Freeman, Lanny (Sue) Freeman, and Michael (Cheryl) Freeman, all of Fort Frances, Ont., Walter Green of International Falls, Mn., Darrell (Terrie) Green of Le Suer, Mn., and Jody (Eric) Lehman of Chaska, Mn. Also surviving are special great-nieces, Sarah Freeman-Kivimaki (Chris) of Fort Frances, Ont. and Beth Freeman-Wrolstad (Dan) of Dryden, Ont.; great-nephew Mark (Erin) Freeman of Toronto, Ont.; and great-great-nephews, Scott Kivimaki of Fort Frances, Ont. and Benjamin Freeman of Toronto, Ont. Graveside services, with full military rites, were held Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls. A celebration of Uncle’s life will be held Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Brian V. Keffer officiating. Hamilton Jr. For most of her lifetime, Gertrude resided in Southern Florida where she practised nursing.

Il était le père de Nadia Gagné conjointe de Steve Lafond, le grand-père de Loic, le frère de feu Marcel Veilleux (feu Georgette Beaulieu et conjoint de Simone Turcotte), Clermont Veilleux (Lisette Lacasse), Clémence, Johanne, Murielle (Gaston Labbé), Suzanne (Guy Beaudoin), Louise (Jean Doyon), feu Nelson, feu Romain, feu Jean-Baptiste, Jeanne d’Arc, feu René Veilleux (Claudette Graveline). Il laisse également ses frères et soeurs, beaux-frères et belles-soeurs de la famille Gagné ainsi que ses neveux et nièces. La famille recevra les condoléances vendredi le 18 juillet 2008 à compter de 9 h à la Résidence funéraire Gamache et Nadeau ltée, 590, rue St-Alphonse Sud, Thetford Mines. Le service religieux sera célébré vendredi le 18 juillet à 14 h en l’église St-Alphonse de Thetford Mines. En guise de sympathie, des dons à la Fondation de l’Hôpital de la région de Thetford seraient grandement appréciés. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Maison funéraire Gamache et Nadeau ltée, membre de la Corpo?ration des thanatologues du Québec.
