MATTHEWS, Donald William 1925 - 2008 The family of Donald Matthews sadly announces his passing at the Foothills Hospital on May 31, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-five years, Gwen Matthews; his children, Sandra Matthews, Donna and Keith Gisby, and Brenda and Steen Pedersen, all of Calgary; his grandchildren, Ben and Siphuong, Alex, Salena, Lystra, Kayla, Sarah, Michael, and Emily; and his great-grandchildren, Maia and Aria. He was predeceased by his brother Ralph Matthews. A celebration of Donald's life will be held at PIERSON'S Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue S.E.) on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. MARTIN, Edna (nee Kitchen) - Peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Friday, May 30th, 2008, in her 90th year. Loving wife of the late Norman Martin (1980). DWYER, Dr. Joseph - With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Joseph Dwyer on Saturday May 31, 2008 while golfing with his long time friend Dr. John Clark. EDNA MARINA MIDDLETON nee Cheese Peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, May 27th, at the age of 49. Survived by her loving husband Marlowe married 22 years, cherished mother of Richard (Heather) and Mandy (Tyler). Dear sister Gwen Mark and Bernie Smith of Kingston, and Wendell Cheese (Joan) of Brockville. Caring Aunt to Mary Casselman (Aaron) of Brockville, Barry Mark (Dana) of Kingston and Laurie Cheese of Brockville. Predeceased parents David and Betty and brother Ron. Edna was born on January 30, 1959 in Kingston, Ontario where she grew up. She moved to Harrow with her family in 1986 then to Kingsville in 1988 where she enjoyed her life. She is best remembered for the wonderful job she did raising two wonderful children. RITTENHOUSE, Glen Gordon (Proud Veteran of World War II) - At the St Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, June 1, 2008, Glen Rittenhouse, born and lived in Jordan Station his entire life, aged 86 years. A veteran, Glen served Canada with the Royal Regiment of Canada from 1941-1945 and was part of the D-Day invasion forces and liberation of Holland. Returning from war, Glen began a lifelong career working with his father and brother at M.K. Rittenhouse & Sons. He had a natural gift for designing, motivating and leading and he created a lifetime of achievements, never fully retiring from the family business. His commitment to helping others through community programs was relentless although he rarely spoke of his successes and achievements as he was also modest. Glen is survived by his wife Shirley, his sons Carl (Sarah), Randy and Mark (Wendy). GRAVER, Cyril Horace 2008-06-02 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of CYRIL HORACE GRAVER on MAY 31, 2008 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Ignace, Ontario on October 28, 1910. He resided with his parents, Catherine and Edwin James Graver. Cyril grew up in Ignace and started with the CPR in 1927. He had several other jobs during his life, before retiring in October 1975 as an engineer for VIA Rail. Cyril enjoyed canoeing and sightseeing with his wife and children in the Ignace area. He most enjoyed canoeing out to the White Otter Castle. He loved to sit and tell many stories he had about his life and the history of the area. Cyril will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Cyril was predeceased by his wife Lillian on May 31, 2006, who he had been married to for 71 years. Also predeceased by his brothers, Edward & Munden and his sister Jean. He is survived by his two sons, Alan of Ignace and Dean of Vancouver, his daughter Lynn (Hugh) of Alberta and his grandchildren; Murray (Sherry) of Ignace, Andrew (Lisa) of Dryden, Susan, Sharon (Paul) and Sheila of Thunder Bay. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren - Hope and Kimberly, Kira, Brenden, Austin and Ethan. Also many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life and his late wife‘s will be held at a later date.

Born on June 23, 1928, in Tay Mills, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Davidson) Boone. Irvine worked as a self employed carpenter for many years. He was also a member of the Smith LOL #144 in Woodlands and greatly enjoyed working in his workshop. Irvine is survived by his brother, Allen (Dorothy) Boone; one nephew, Duane (Cathy) Boone; several cousins and the family of the late Etta Foster. Besides his parents, Irvine was predeceased by one brother, Eldon Boone; one sister, Elva Boone; several aunts and uncles and also his special friend, Etta Foster. CONNORS, Ralph M. Ralph M. Connors, 81, of Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully with a smile on his face at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday, May 30, 2008. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Frederick and Altie (Larracey) Connors. A Second World War veteran, Ralph worked for the CNR until taking a teaching position at NBCC, St. Andrews, where he and his family lived for 24 years. He retired from NBCC, Moncton. He was passionate about sports, as a participant, coach, builder and gave generously of his time. He was past president of St. Andrews Legion Branch #8 and received the Meritorious Service Award. Kathleen Mabel Brooks 1909 - 2008 Sackville, N.B. - Kathleen M. (Wheaton) Brooks, age 99, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Kathleen was a longtime resident of Middle Sackville, but resided in Port Elgin, N.B. at the Country Side Residence for the last year and a half of her life. Born on April 3, 1909 in Mount View, N.B., she was the daughter of the late William and Natalie (Cook) Wheaton. Kathleen was a member of the Middle Sackville Baptist Church and was involved with many activities including quilting and was a life member of the WMS. She was active in the 4-H Club, teaching the sewing class and was also a life time member of the Women's Institute. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her children, William (Elizabeth) Brooks of Moncton, N.B., Shirley (Willard) Cameron of Charlottetown, PEI, Lois (Garnet) Beck of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Janet (Mike) Cooke of Riverview, N.B.; two sisters, Elsie Estabrooks of Mount Whatley, N.B. and Geraldine Trenholm of Sackville, N.B.; twelve grandchildren, Joanne Adair, Lorna Fox, Sandra Haddad, Douglas Brooks, Kenneth Brooks, Carolyn Cameron, Derrick Cameron, Julia Loran, Jonathon Beck, Ryan Beck, Kevin Crowder and Kirk Crowder; fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lorne Brooks in 1987; sisters, Freda Reid and Gwen Estabrooks; brother Gerald Wheaton and two infant sons. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 6 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 2 PM from Campbell's Funeral Home, with Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. A time of reception will be shared at the funeral home following the service. Burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery. PERKINS, William Acheson On Friday, May 30th 2008, surrounded by family, following a courageous fight awaiting a liver transplant at the age of 69 years. Loyal and loving brother to Sherle Perkins and Harry Perkins (deceased), and brother-in-law to Liz Webster.
