TAYLOR, MARGARET - of Plumweseep passed away on March 28, 2008 at the age of 87. Born in Sardis, BC, she was the wife of the late Alfred Taylor who passed away in 1967. She is survived by three children, two sisters-in-law: as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her son, Mark, three brothers and two sisters. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday evening, April 2nd at 7:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship with the family. FADER, (GORMAN) CHERYL BRENDA The death of Cheryl Brenda (Gorman) Fader of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Campbellton, NB, on October 5, 1949, she was a Registered Nurse employed by AHSC until her retirement in 1999. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Charlotte Gorman (MacIntyre) of Boutiliers Point, Halifax County, and one brother, James of Simms Settlement, NS. Cheryl is survived by daughters, Angela Fader of Saint John, NB and Sandra Johnson of Hampton, NB; two grandchildren, Blake and Alex Johnston; three sisters, Glenda Bonang (Dwight) of Dartmouth, NS, Kaye Boutilier (Darrell) of Dartmouth, NS, and Arlene Crews (Claude) of Queensland, NS; five brothers, John of Halifax, Richard of Halifax, Gilbert of Halifax, Reginald of Georgetown, and Timothy of Halifax; as well as several nieces and nephews. Cheryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had a calling of Nursery School Teacher. Her passions included rug hooking with The Tearoom Hookers of Sussex, NB; painting; and she belonged to the knitting club of LDS. She loved most of all being with her two grandchildren and the times she spent fishing and bike riding with them. Visitation will take place at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 12:00 Noon until 2:15 PM, at which time the funeral service will be held. BOONE, ALLEN CLAUDE DOUGLAS The death of Allen C. D. Boone of Geary, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, March 28th, 2008. Born in Geary on July 15th, 1921, he was the son of the late Marvin and Etta (Smith) Boone. Allen graduated from Provincial Normal School in 1939 and began his teaching career. He held many teaching positions throughout New Brunswick for over 20 years and following that, he decided to become an office worker until his retirement. After his retirement, Allen loved to research genealogy. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Drummond of Waasis, NB as well as several nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by his parents; sister, Florence; and brothers, Arnold and Alfred. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home (357-5100) on Thursday, April 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Gerald Matthews officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Lower Geary Cemetery. Frank, Emery Killen 1916 - 2008 Frank Emery Killen - 92 of Moncton, NB, died on Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at the Dr. G. L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Forest Glen on February 11th, 1916, he was the son of the late William Killen and the late Margaret (Cameron) Killen-Middleton. A veteran of The Second World War, Frank served overseas a mechanic. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Reade) Branch of Fredericton, his half-sister, Dorothy Kervin of Moncton, his sister-in-law, Irene Killen of St. Paul, grandsons, Shawn C. Branch of Saint John and Kevin Branch of Fredericton and several cousins nieces and nephews. Frank was pre deceased by his wife, Blanche (Garland) Killen and three brothers; Elwyn, Everette and Fred. There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. Istvan "Steve" Gergely Istvan "Steve" Gergely, 83, Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, March 30, 2008 after a short illness. Born in Gyor, Hungary, he was the son of the late Armin and Aranka (Rosenfeld) Gergely. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a Holocaust Survivor, and came to Canada with his family during the Hungarian Revolution. Steve and his family have been settled in Moncton since 1957. He was a European master watchmaker and jeweller, and owned and operated Steve's Watch & Jewellery Ltd., for nearly fifty years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sara (Szalai); sons, Peter, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Robert (Bev), Moncton; grandchildren, Laura, Toronto, Ontario, Andrew, Edmonton, Alberta, Erika and Michael, Moncton. A brother, Bela; and a sister, Magdolna predeceased him. A private shiva for the immediate family only will be held. Funeral services will take place at Tiferes Israel Synagogue, at 4:00 pm, Monday, March 31, 2008, with interment following in Tiferes Israel Cemetery, Chartersville, NB. No flowers by request. BOSDACHIN, Aurelio. 1930-2008. At Lasalle Hospital, on March 30, 2008 at the age of seventy-eight years, died Mr. Aurelio Bosdachin. Beloved husband of the late Ida Gamboz. He leaves to mourn Anita (Giovanni DiLollo) and Roberto (Karen Piatkowski), his beloved grandchildren Stefano, Evan and Emily. He also leaved his sister Germana Sincovich, his brothers-in-law Bruno Gamboz and Fausto Gamboz and many other family members and friends. OLIN, Mary 2008-03-31 Mary Olin Mrs. Mary M. Olin, age 95, of Good Sheppard Village, 51 Walkover Street, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph‘s Hospital, with her good friends at her side on Thursday, March 27, 2008. Mary was born March 6, 1913 in Isojoki, Finland, and moved to Canada in 1928. In 1938, she married the love of her life, Hilding Olin. Together they built their home at 33 N. High Street, where she lived for over 50 years. Mary was a hard worker, working many years as a domestic cleaner. Mary was a good friend to many. Her home was always open and she would always have coffee made for everyone who came. Mary especially enjoyed her time spent at her cottage at Surprise Lake. She was a long time member of the Scandinavian Home Society. She was predeceased by her loving Husband Hilding Olin, of 56 years, in May 1994, her parents in Finland, Kalle and Hulda Maki, and her sister Helen (Walter) Jarvis, of Florida. Mary is survived by her brother Aulis (Rose) Maki, her cousin Alice (Emil) Bergland of Saskatchewan, nieces and nephews and their families, Arlene" Cookie" (Tom) Johnson enroute from South Carolina, Bob (Marcie) Jarvis of California, Barb (Bruce) Lindquist and David Jarvis all in Minnesota. Mary was a very special friend to many, and will be especially missed by her good friends Melody and Rick Lundstrom and their family, Jonathon of Ottawa, Laura-Anne of Sault Ste. Marie, Per and William Lundstrom who always referred to her as "Grandma. Mary will be sadly missed by her many friends, some whom held a special place in her heart for well over 40 years. As per Mary‘s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday April 4, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at her beloved Christ Lutheran Church, Walkover Street, officiated by Pastor Dave Haberstock. Visitation for friends and family will be one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made in Mary‘s memory to the charity of your choice, or to Christ Lutheran Church. Gérard Cormier 1946-2008 Gérard Cormier, 61, formerly of Shediac passed away suddenly on Friday, February 29, 2008 in Windsor, Ontario. Born April 11, 1946 in Moncton, he was the adopted son of Léona (Bourque) and the late Clorice Cormier. Gérard was a truck driver and a brick layer. DANYLUK, Anna 1911 - 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Danyluk announce her passing on March 29, 2008, at the age of 97. Her memory will be cherished by her son Michael (Cristina); daughter Florence (Ken) McKie and children Heather, Katherine and Dana; daughter Vicky (Jim) Burton and son Brad (Melinda) and great-grandsons Josh and Nick. Anna was born in Poland on January 11, 1911. In 1929 she came to Canada and settled in the Drumheller area where she met and married Nicholas in 1932. Ten years later they moved to Calgary where they built their homes and life together. Anna was predeceased in 1994 by her husband Nicholas of sixty-two years, her sisters Julia, Mary, Tekla and brothers Michael and Andrew. She was proud of her Canadian Citizenship as well as her Ukrainian heritage and generously helped her family in the Old Country. Known for her nurturing and caring of others, "Mamma D" welcomed all to her home and family table. She preferred to provide help rather than receive and highly valued and helped her family achieve their educational goals. Anna will be remembered for her keen personal work ethic and her caring concern for others. She enjoyed gardening, traveling with family, and maintaining family traditions. Strongly independent, Anna remained in her own home until her mid-nineties. The family deeply appreciates the care and support of Dr. Donna Wachowich, Sister Laura Prokop SSMI, and the care givers at Cedars Villa Nursing Home. A Funeral Mass officiated by Fr. SAARI, Herbert Leonard (July 12, 1946 March 30, 2008) - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert (Herb) Leonard Saari after a short but hard battle with lung cancer. He passed away peacefully at his home in Merritton surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 40 years, Linda; his children (who were his great source of pride) Brett (Michele), and Lynn (Steve). Two grandchildren who were the light of his life; Cole (Punkin) age 10 and Scott (Goober) age 7. He is also survived by his brother Jules (Betty) and his mother, Anne. He was predeceased by his father, Julius. He is also survived by his favourite in-laws; Lori (Mike) Lang, Sandy (Mike) Concessi, Jim (Terri) McCallum, and nephews Ryan, Steve and Mark and his niece Jennifer (Stuart). Herb was a former employee of the St. Lawrence Seaway retiring in 1998 after 34 years of service. He loved to spend his summers up north at the shed and spent most of his time on the boat baiting everyone else's hooks (especially Linda's). We will miss his stories and will especially miss the lengthy pauses (those of you who have heard one will know what we mean!). His love of games bowling and poker and friendships gained through that meant a great deal to him. The family would like to thank CCAC, Para- med Nurses, especially Jan & Diane for their great care and support. A special thanks to Dr. K. Atkins for the great kindness shown to Herb during his illness. Cremation has taken place. FOX, Douglas Carpenter January 8, 1920 - March 29, 2008 Douglas Carpenter Fox, beloved husband of Erna of fifty years, went home to his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Douglas Fox was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 8, 1920. He married Erna Schwanke on December 19, 1957. Doug worked for thirty-nine years for the Bank of Canada. Upon his retirement, he became the office administrator at First Alliance Church for ten years. Doug lived first and foremost to serve his Lord and Saviour. He was a devoted husband and treasured the time spent with his wife, Erna. Serving his family, friends, and others brought him great joy. He had a wonderful sense of humour, and had a great passion for tennis, playing well into his eighties. To know him was to love him. Doug will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife Erna. Daughters and sons-in-law: Heather and Brian Larsen, Marilee and Gerald Nakano. Priscilla was born in Trinidad and immigrated to Calgary in 1969. Her love for children led her to a teaching career for many years until her retirement. McDERMOTT EDWARD (TED) JOHNSON - Died peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2008 at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. Husband of Mary Jane Armstrong of Petrolia. Loving father of Lynda Barbara Gordon of Sarnia and grandfather of her sons Scott, Cameron, and Jason. Will be missed by his sister June MacMillan and her family of Toronto. Also an adopted grandfather to the families of Ron and Muriel Armstrong of Oil Springs, John and Ann Van Duren of Nairn and Alan Armstrong of Toronto. Ted spent most of his business life with Canron Ltd. Living for some years in Toronto and Montreal. He retired as division manager of one of its subsidiaries. In 1943 he joined the R.C.A.F. and completed training as a wireless air gunner. He was commissioned and after returning from overseas was placed on active reserve. He was a longtime member of the YMCA and once served as voluntary board of management chairman of the northwestern branch in Montreal. In that time he was also a member of the Westmount Rotary Club. He was honored to be a brother of Orient Lodge A.F. & A.M. - Toronto District for many years and later also of Royal Albert and Edinburg Lodge - Montreal District. He loved the game of golf but never was able to give it the time it deserved. He was good friends of Joe and Bev Noble and a member of their Westview Golf Club in Aurora and was also a member of Heritage Heights Golf and Curling Club in Petrolia. LOCKWOOD, Elizabeth (Bette) Ada (nee Underwood) November 15, 1930 - March 28, 2008 Late on the evening of Friday, March 28, 2008, Bette peacefully passed away at the McKenzie Towne Care Center due to complications with Alzheimer's at the age of 77 years. Bette was born and raised in Calgary, graduating from Western Canada High School. Bette's family were pioneers in Calgary - her grandfather, Thomas Underwood established Memorial Park, First Baptist Church and was mayor of the city in the early 1900's. It was in Calgary where she met her life-long partner, Chuck and where they chose to raise their family. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially at her cottage on Pine Lake. She was a devoted grandmother and spent many wonderful hours with her grandchildren sharing her passions of sewing and painting. Bette will always be remembered for her loving ways, her kindness and the care she provided throughout her life to her parents, brother, family and husband. There was a special place in Bette's heart for First Baptist Church, especially her friends in the Malcolm group and for the YWCA where she volunteered for many years and eventually served as president. Bette was also actively involved with and sat on the University of Calgary Senate for many years. Once her sons left home, Bette replaced her volunteer activities with a position at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce where she developed a very special and lasting friendship with Deb Robillard. Bette will be greatly missed and is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Charles (Chuck) Lockwood; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Anne and granddaughters, Kenna and Julie; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lois and granddaughter Lindsay. Bette was predeceased by her brother Thomas Underwood and grandson Fraser Lockwood. Her family will miss her terribly but take comfort knowing she is now at peace and with the Lord. GREEN, REV. JULIAN GRACEN - The death of Julian Green occurred at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, Friday, March 28, 2008. Born in Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, January 15, 1913, Julian was the son of the late Audley and Carrie (Holmes) Green and husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Saunders) Green. Julian was a faithful member of the United Baptist Church Clergy for over 30 years having served churches in North River, St. Martins, Oak Bay, Salisbury, Millville, Pennfield, Hoyt and Fredericton Junction. During WW2, he was a member of the 90th Anti-Tank Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery and served his country in the south of England in 1940 and 1941. Julian was a proud member of the War Amputations of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Joan (Garry Guild), sons, Richard (Patricia) and Burton and half-brother Steven Green. Julian was predeceased by his sisters, Royal and Isabel and great-grandson, Matthew Gallagher. He is survived by grandchildren, Deborah (Stephen) VanSlyke, Deidre Green (Shaun Gallagher), Deanna Green (Frank Vanderlaan), Dr. Peter Green and Sean Green; and great-grandchildren Jeremy and Kristen VanSlyke, Anna and Jonathan Gallagher, and Adam and Kate Vanderlaan. The family expresses sincere thanks to Julian's many devoted caregivers of the past decade. The DVA and Dr. Keddy provided outstanding support and care. Visitation will take place at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, Fredericton on Thursday, April 3, 2:30 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 8:30 PM.
