LEFEBVRE, Mary Geraldine ''Geri“ - Passed away at Cassellholme with her family at her side, Monday, March 24, 2008. Geraldine (née McParland) beloved wife of Clarence Leon Lefebvre in her 83rd. year. Dearly loved mother of Michael (Linda Marconi), Suzanne Beauchamp (Richard), David (Carole Champagne) all of North Bay, Carol Lefebvre ( Shelley Schenk) of Kitchener and Janet Atkinson (Stephen) of Lively. Loved grandmother of ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Natalie Beauchamp, Lauren and Matthew Lefebvre, Melissa, Julie, and Marc Lefebvre, Jessica, David and Jake Atkinson. Dear sister of Inez Kaufmann (Willi) of Abbotsford, B.C., Noleen Kasey (Ted) of Tampa, Florida, Clarence McParland (Barbara) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Helen Duquette (Don deceased) of North Bay She will be dearly remembered by 4 sisters-in-law, Irene McParland ( Clifford (deceased) of North Bay, Léa Lefebvre (Tom deceased) of Davidson, Que., and Yvonne Bilodeau (Noel) of Gatineau, Que.,Sylvia Lefebvre(Frank deceased). Geri will be lovingly remembered by several dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Clifford and Andrew McParland (Pauline deceased) and several young siblings. Geraldine was born in Mattawa, May 12,1925. She was employed with the National Registration office in Ottawa during the end of the World War II and also worked as a farmerette in summer months on a fruit farm in southern Ontario. She moved with her family to North Bay in 1945, and was employed with the United Cigar store on Main street for several years, then to Shoppers Drug Mart on Cassells Street for 18 years. August 1,1949 she married Clarence at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption. She was a member of the Pro Cathedral C. W. L. for over 60 years, and worked on the funeral team, making lunches and knitted hundreds of pairs of mittens over the years for the annual C.W.L. bazaar. A loving mother and grandmother who would never forgot a birthday. Family and friends may pay their respects at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday, March 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 o 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Pro- Cathedral of the Assumption, Thursday (time to be confirmed). DICKEY, T. Lloyd DICKEY, T. Lloyd - 77, Lincoln, N.B., passed away March 8, 2008, in White Rapids Manor. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Harry and Janie (Bowden) Dickey. Lloyd was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic with LaHave Equipment for 23 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Victoria Lodge, having joined in 1958; a member of the Masonic Lodge 32 F&AM, Fredericton; and a member of the Shriners Luxor Temple, Fredericton. He is survived by his wife, Thelma; sons, Calvin; Carl (Anne), both of Lincoln; grandson, Michael (Chrissy) Dickey, Oromocto, N.B.; great-grandsons, Cameron, Ashton, Preston; brothers, Ralph (Judy), Halifax; Gordon (Shirley), Brookfield; sister, Helen Hutt, Wolfville; nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 11, in Wesley United Church, Lincoln, Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Lower Lincoln Cemetery. Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 22, 2008 in her 72nd year. Shirley is predeceased by her soulmate Vince Baldwin, by her parents, Louis and Evelyn McQuaid., her sisters Lula and Glee and by her brother Leon. Born in Câp St. Louis to the late Emile Martin and the late Marguerite (Despres) Martin. Omér had been a fisherman until retirement. June Lavinia MacCallum June Lavinia MacCallum, 61 of Middlesex passed away Sunday March 23, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born June 3, 1946 in Moncton, she was a daughter of Florence (O'Blenis) MacDonald and the late Harold Jones. She was a homemaker who loved baking and spending time with her family and a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Salisbury. Survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Douglas; her five children, Charlene Garland of Salisbury, Stephen (Kim) of Colpitts Settlement, James (Marcia) of Salisbury, Cindy Steeves (Jonathan) of River Glade and David (Lisa) of Colpitts Settlement; 16 Grandchildren; one Great Grandson; brother, Douglas Jones (Debbie) of Boundary Creek; sister, Mildred Simpson of Colpitts Settlement and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Edith Gautreau; brother-in-law, Douglas Simpson and stepfather, Jim MacDonald. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800), with visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. STEWART, George John “Red“ - WWII R.C.H.A. Veteran 1939-1945 Family Owned Stewarts Dairy at 689 Princess St. George passed away peacefully on March 23, 2008 at the Kingston General Hospital in his 88th year. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie of 60 years. Beloved father to Linda Stewart and Bill (Marilyn) Stewart. Cherished grandfather to Scott Stewart. He will be sadly missed by his sister Jean Bainbridge. George is predeceased by his parents William and Amy Stewart, brother Glen and sisters Gwen and Mary. George will be dearly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews and friends. At George's request cremation has taken place. WHITE, Myrtle Blanche - It is with sadness we announce the death of Myrtle Blanche White (Loucks) on Saturday March 22, 2008 in her 98th year. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Stanley Albert White, in 1997. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Yvonne Miller, son-in-law Lorne, and grandchildren Stephen & Cameron Miller, and Lynne Ingram (Dale). Fond memories of Great Nana are left with Jeremy Pilkey (Heather), Jennifer Pilkey, Jeff Ingram (Ashley), Amy Ingram (Troy), David (Danielle), Christine, and Catherine Miller. Great great grandchildren who will miss her are Philip, Madelyn, and Xavier Pilkey, and Austen Ingram. Myrtle is survived by a brother Arnold (Jackie) and a sister Velma. She was predeceased by siblings Keitha, Lily, Edith, Gertie, Iva, William, Amos, John, Donald, and Violet. During her lifetime, Myrtle helped Stanley build two residences, co-operating in the actual physical construction as well as decorating the interiors. She was a member of the United Church and was well know in their circles as an innovative craft producer. She enjoyed traveling and spent many months on the beaches of Florida and Texas. SPIERS, Gabrielle We are sad to announce the passing of Gabrielle Spiers on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 in Vancouver BC. Born July 16th, 1918 in Troyes, France, Gabrielle Lussier, or Gaby, as known to her many friends, was brought up in Montreal. She graduated from the Villa Maria and later served in WWII with the Canadian Red Cross at their headquarters in London. She was married there in 1945 to Arthur J. Spiers and they were together until his death in 1982. Gaby was a member, and served on the executive of the Red Cross Overseas Club. She cherished her many Red Cross friends from all across Canada, edited the club's newsletter for many years, and helped to organize several national reunions. Lively and vivacious, Gaby hosted many Red Cross parties at her home in Montreal. She was honored by Canada and presented with the Commemorative Jubilee Medal by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. In 2005, Gaby joined over 60 original Overseas Club members at their final reunion in Ottawa where they were also honoured guests at Canada's national celebration of the 50th Anniversary of VE Day. Gaby is survived in Vancouver by her daughter, Blue Caroline Schindler, and by her son, Paul A. Spiers of Massachusetts. A celebration of her life will be held in Montreal this summer. PIERCE, Marion Louise (nee Dell) - It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Pierce announce her passing on Friday, March 21, 2008 at Riverside Glen Long Term Care Facility in Guelph. She died peacefully in the early hours of the morning. A resident of Riverside Glen for the last six years, Marion was loved by all who met her. Never one to complain, Marion was always able to find just the right moment for her humour to shine through during the many visits of family and friends. Born in Niagara Falls on July 5, 1922, Marion was a resident of Niagara Falls for 80 years as well as a member of Lundy's Lane United Church. After graduating from Stamford Collegiate, she joined Dominion Chain in the payroll department where she worked until her marriage to George Nathaniel Pierce, who predeceased her 8 years ago. She is also predeceased by her mother Agnes (Hawken) Dell, father Henry Clive Dell, and brother Robert Dell of Fredericton. She will be sadly missed by her children, Stephen and wife Merrill, Millicent and husband Jack, and Bruce and wife Patricia. Her grandchildren Heather, Andrew, Sarah Dell, David, Cameron and Colin have fond memories of a very loving, generous grandmother. In her last years, she always brightened when her great grandchildren Emmie, Jake, Lily, and Hadley came to visit her. JONES, Douglas G.E. (Doug) January 12, 1920 - March 20, 2008 Douglas G.E. (Doug) Jones, beloved husband of Barbara of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Doug was born in Pointe Claire, QC on January 12, 1920. He resided in Montreal, QC and Cambridge, ON before moving to Calgary in 1980. Doug was a WWII veteran, having served in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945. Doug had a great love for animals, especially for dogs. He was an avid sports fan as well as an accomplished hockey player, curler and golfer. Doug was an always present coach of his children's favourite sports. Besides his loving wife Barbara, Doug is also survived by his children, Ron (Myra), Bob (Pat), Linda (George), Ken (Mel), Linda (Ken), Bev (Kirk), and Jackie; his grandchildren, Christina, Michelle, Matthew, Brittney "his princess", Cameron, Brendan, Vicky and Chris; and his great-grandchildren, Breckin, Kaden, Emma and Michael. Doug is also survived by his brothers, Ken, Bruce and Len. Doug was predeceased by his first wife Thelma. Eaton Co. for many years and a member of the Heart and Stroke Club and the 50 Plus Club. He is survived by his sisters, Marie (Charlie) Otto, Joan (George) Awalt; brother, Timothy (Jean), all of Dartmouth; Arnold (Marion) Hadley and sister-in-law, Lillian, Halifax, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion and second wife, Agnes; sister, Dorothy Legere; brothers, Bernard and Buddy. In keeping with his generous nature, his body has been donated to Dalhousie University Research.
