LUMSDEN, Hilda Eileen 89, Stewiacke / Truro, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on March 13, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Milford she was a daughter of the late Chester and Florence (Goff) Wardrope. Hilda was a proud independent individual who was always willing to help others. She loved meeting people, traveling and was extremely competitive at the card table. After spending most of her child rearing years in St. John and New Glasgow, she moved to Ottawa and was employed by the Federal Government until her retirement in 1983. She was a devoted member of the Rebekahs for 72 years and proud of the number of offices that she held. She returned to Nova Scotia in 2002 living in Stewiacke and just recently moved to Truro. Hilda is survived by daughters Euloth Bing, Westminster, CO; Karen Stewart (Tom), Chetwynd, BC; Heather Williams (Monte), Hopewell, NS; Janice Udell (Reg), Spruce Grove, AB; Joyce MacKenzie (Alex), Edmonton, AB; Cindy Mitchell, Truro; sons Wayne (Lori), Albert Bridge, NS; Chester (Doris), Debert, NS; sister Edna Blaikie, Truro; brother Roger Wardrope (Jen), Milford; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one special great-great granddaughter Isabella who she was especially proud of, having held her on her lap for many hours; brother in-law Lenard Ripley. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, infant daughter Sandra, great grandson Kyle Mitchell, sisters Mildred Wardrope, Hazel Ripley, and daughter in-law Phyllis Lumsden. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday with funeral service 1 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2008, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Main Street, Shubenacadie, Rev. Helen Waddell officiating. HADDOCK, Frank Edward May 18, 1950 - March 12, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank (Frankie) Haddock after a long, courageous battle with cancer on March 12, 2008. Frank will be remembered for his passion in creating innovative home renovations in and around Calgary. Frank loved to restore old American Muscle Cars and attend their many and never-ending shows. He will be remembered by his snowmobiling buddies as the one who "goes high or goes home". Most of all, he will be remembered by his family who always knew where to find him, working on his family farm with his constant four legged companion Rae. Frank is survived by his loving wife Michale Bonn; his cherished daughters, Taeh (TB) and Kari Ann (Chad) Putzi; his adored granddaughter Malia Lexis (Putzi); as well as his brother, sister, several nieces and nephews. PHELAN, Daniel L., Rev. S.J. Quietly on Thursday, March 13, 2008 in his 61st year and his forty-third year as a Jesuit. Since becoming ill in late December 2005, Fr. Phelan never regained consciousness and for the last number of years has been lovingly cared for at Providence Centre. For many years prior to his illness, Fr. Phelan was a gifted spiritual director of the Jesuit staff at Loyola House in Guelph and at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Centre in Pickering. Most recently, he was a member of the Apostolic Team at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish as a spiritual guide and counselor. He is survived by his brothers Frank, Jim, Hugh, Martin, Andy and by his sisters Theresa and Mary Jo. He was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Mary, and his sister Ann. His life was a grace and blessing to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his many nephews and nieces, his Jesuit brothers, many friends and by all who knew him in the faith community of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. SUNDERLAND, Thomas (Tom) Fremont Thomas (Tom) Fremont Sunderland entered into rest suddenly while attending a farm show in Ottawa on March 12, 2008, in his 82nd year. Son of the late Thomas Leonard Sunderland and Meryl Elizabeth Sunderland (nee Thompson), and dear father of Susan Robertson, Nancy Inglis (Bruce), Gordon (Linda), Sandra Messett, Karen Foster (Kenneth), and Jonathan (Natalie). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and his brothers Carl and Daniel. He was predeceased by his son Mark, brothers Gerald and Cecil, and by his sisters Eileen Perry (Wayne) and Glenna Hogaboam (Bob). KROHN, Edith. On March 7, 2008, exactly one week shy of her ninety-ninth birthday, Edith Krohn (nee Link), died in the arms of her son Peter. She was widowed in 1970 when her husband Dr. Hans Krohn died suddenly. She is survived by her only child Peter, her daughters-in-law Carole Battis and Beth Krohn and five well-loved grandchildren, Nico Krohn, Joseph Krohn and his wife Kiki Krohn (nee Sotirakos), James Krohn, Zac Krohn and Kaela Krohn. Predeceased by his brother Clifford and sisters Myrtle, Audrey and Geraldine. Ron will be fondly remembered as the founder of Noram Quality Control and his involvement in the pulp and paper industry, his ability to tell a good joke and the good times having drinks with friends. MOILLIET, Michael Lind December 30, 1961 - March 7, 2008 With profound sadness his family announces the passing of Michael Lind Moilliet, beloved husband of Corrina (nee Marlow) of Calgary, AB and cherished son of Sheila and David of Ottawa, ON on Friday, March 7, 2008, after a long and valiant struggle against cancer at the age of 46 years. Mike went through life always with eternal optimism seeing good in all that he did while making scores of friends along the way because of his natural honesty in dealing with others, whether it be as Beverage Manager at the Chateau Lake Louise; training with HMCS Carleton's Naval Reserve Division; or as a Computer Support Technician Leader in his last job with the City of Calgary. "Unka Mike" to the younger members of his extended family, always took time to listen, and to tell them all what he had been doing in his latest endeavours. He fought the good fight and will be sorely missed by all who had the honour of knowing him. We will always love you Mikey! MCGILVEARY, Lyle Dan - of Springfield, Illinois passed away suddenly in Palm Beach, Florida on Monday, March 10, 2008 in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Sue of Hanover. HATTON, Frank. - Wing Cmdr. Frank Hatton D.F.C., C.D., R.C.A.F., Retired. - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank Hatton on Friday, March 14, 2008. He was in his 92nd year. Frank was born and raised in Toronto. He left Canada to join the R.A.F. as a pilot in 1937, and in 1943, transferred to the R.C.A.F., where he served until his retirement in 1965. He and his wife Claire (Godin) moved to Cedar Springs in 1967, where he worked for the Ontario Government as Personnel Director at the Southwestern Regional Centre until 1977. Claire died in 1992 and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim. Frank married Thelma Flum in 1993 and they have resided in Blenheim until this time. A true gentleman, Frank served his country with distinction and was devoted to his family. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Thelma Hatton, daughter Mary Frances and Joe Sheehan of Toronto, daughter Ruth Hatton of Belleville, son John Hatton and Maureen Walsh of London, son Robert Hatton and Caro Clarke of Erie Beach, son Christopher Hatton and Linda Kenyon of Waterloo and step-daughter Jacqueline Ray of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Andrea, Alex, Elizabeth, Jessica, Jake, T.J., Sarah, Laura, Patrick, and Philip. FRASER, GLENNA SUZANNE - Of Calgary passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2008. She was born in New Glasgow but grew up in Saint John and was the daughter of Heather McGowan and Glen Borden. Growing up in Saint John Glenna enjoyed coaching several soccer and basketball leagues in the North End. Following graduation from Saint John High School she went on to attend Canadore College in North Bay, ON and most recently resided in Calgary. In addition to her parents she is survived by one brother, Jared McGowan; one sister, Kali McGowan and grandparents, John and Isabel Fraser and Betty Jennex and the late Otis Jennex. MCQUINN, FAYE A. - The death of Faye Audrey McQuinn, of Sussex, and formerly of Red Deer, Alberta occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on March 12, 2008. She was the daughter of the late J. Allen and Mary (Chambers) McQuinn; and the beloved sister of Fyrn Gard of Sussex, Betty McKnight (Gerald) of Apohaqui, Lois Hall (Ted) of New Maryland, Kaye Finniss of Minto; and nine nieces and nephews. JODOUIN, Yvon (Ivan) - April 1, 1938 – March 14, 2008 - The family announces with sorrow the death of Yvon on March 14, 2008. Yvon passed away quietly after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends at the Timmins and District Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife Florence Jodouin (nee Breux), his son Timm Jodouin (David), his daughter Lisa Jodouin, grandchildren Arron James and Kira Lynn. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Laurette Jodouin. Dear brother of Claudette Benoit (late husband Jim), Jeanne D'Arc Dubuc (Lucien), Hervé Jodouin of Toronto and Pierrette Catherwood (Bob) of Matheson. Brother-in-law of Noella Bouchard (Edgar), Réal Breux. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many close friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Herst, Donna, Dr. Andronowski of the Sudbury Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. Cooper, Dr. Critchley, Dr. Pariag and the nurses and staff of the Timmins and District Hospital's surgical and oncology departments.
