LEGAULT, Rose (nee Maria Assunta Pilozzi) Died peacefully in Ottawa on March 12, 2008. Born on August 15, 1909, she was in her 99th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lorenzo Aldege Legault. Loving mother of Robert Raspa (Montreal), grandmother of Annamarie Lippitt (Gary) (Albany NY), Vicki Raspa (Tampa FL), and Susan Raspa (Metairie, LA) and great-grandmother to Melody, Rebecca and Erin. Dearest step-grandmother to Frances Legault (Ottawa). Grandma Rose will be remembered fondly by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as a woman who loved music and cooking, but most of all her family. McCaughey, Bernice (nee Knirck) 1927 - 2008 A native Ottawan, Bernice was the daughter of Max Knirck and Gertrude. One of the earlier Canadian women graduated as a Bachelor of Pharmacy, she continued in that profession for some years. There will be no visitation or service. RATHWELL, Robert J. ("Bob") Peacefully in hospital surrounded by family on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the age of 78 years young. Son of the late Elgin and Mary Rathwell of Lachine, Quebec, beloved husband of Ruth (nee Rawn), father of David (Corina Yip and son Brandon Yue), Douglas (Louise Young) and Leslie (Bradley Reid), grandfather of Jamie, Nicole, Dana, Shannon, Paige and Cameron. Dearest brother of Bruce, Alan, Gwynneth Lowther, and the late Margaret Storer and Alexandra Colombo. He will be fondly remembered by many friends and relatives as being a warm, loving, caring, generous and proud man. Graduate of University of Western (1954 Business) and long serving employee of Statistics Canada. Recently inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame for his long-time dedication to the development of minor league hockey and soccer in the Ottawa region and Provincial levels, his contribution to the community has been extensive. SIKKA, Shakunt At Picton, Ontario on Tuesday, 11th March 2008, around the age of 70, after a struggle with Alzheimer Disease. Beloved wife of the late Satinder Sikka. Survived by her four children, their spouses, and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by her late granddaughter. A private family service was held at the WHATTAM FUNERAL HOME in Picton, followed by cremation. Shakunt moved from New Delhi, India to Ottawa in 1978 after her husband's death. She worked at the Indian High Commission in the 1980s, and as an English-Hindi translator in the 1990s. Shakunt was a wonderful cook, had an amazing green thumb, and lent her creative touch to many things. During her last year, she was in nursing homes in Ottawa and then Picton. SILVERMAN, Darra Michele (Nee May) Dec. 18, 1964 - Feb. 23, 2008 Lois and Gordon May are sad to announce the death of their beautiful daughter, Darra, at her home in Danville, California, following a long battle with cancer. A battle we thought she had won. Darra was raised in Nepean and was a graduate of Sir Robert Borden High School and Carleton University. She moved to California with her family in 2000. Left with loving memories are her husband, Brian and her much adored children, Moriah and Harrison. She will be missed by her parents, Lois and Gordon May of Kanata, her sisters Brenda (Lorey Hoffman) of McLean, Virginia and Donna (Kenneth Schroeder) of Vancouver as well as her nieces, Kiersten and Rebecka Hoffman and Hannah May. Darra was a bright and humorous lady with many friends who provided care and support to her and her family in her final days. She was an avid tennis player and an active member of The Crow Canyon Tennis Club. She loved the game and her many dear friends at Crow Canyon. A memorial service to honor Darra's life was held on February 26 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Danville. WILLIAMS, Doris Margaret (nee Ridewood) Doris passed away peacefully in her 90th year on March 6, 2008, at Hilltop Manor, Merrickville. Born in Smiths Falls on June 22, 1918, she was the beloved wife of the late Earle F. Williams, and daughter of John Alexander Ridewood and Jennie Driver. Doris is survived by her daughter, Lynne Williams (Mark Zannis), Montreal; grandchildren Leah Margaret and Alexander; sisters Eunice (the late Harry Ruppel), St. Mary's, Ontario; Phyllis Mallette, Smiths Falls and sister-in-law Dolores (Hogan) Ridewood, Smiths Falls; predeceased by brother Kenneth Ridewood and sister Violet (the late Jack Wark). She also leaves many friends and relatives, including her closest cousins, Donald Ridewood (Margaret) of Ottawa and Lawrence Driver (Barbara) of Brockville; the Williams families in California; and the Elliott families formerly of Merrickville and Smiths Falls. BILODEAU, Joan (nee Whalen). Passed away peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care Centre in Kirkland on March 11 at the age of eighty-two years. She will be greatly missed by her husband Leo, her children Paul Douglas (Carole Boucher) and Ken and her grandchildren Katherine, Michelle and Charles as well as her sister Winifred and her brothers, Gerald, Charlie and Hubert, her numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. OBITUARY ELIZABETH LINDA CLARK (nee MUNSTER) May 11, 1947-March 10, 2008. Elizabeth Clark of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the age of sixty years. Elizabeth was born on May 11, 1947 in Sherbrooke, QC. She was an accomplished artist, having graduated from both ACAD in Calgary and Concordia University in Montreal, with many displays of her work showcased throughout Canada. She was a fantastic wife, mother and friend. Elizabeth has touched the lives of so many people and will be sorely missed. Besides her beloved husband Desmond Clark, Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered and is survived by daughter Wendy (Andrew) McRae; her son Michael (Lindsay) Clark; and her grandson Trevor Clark. BOARDMAN, Doris Doris Boardman passed away peacefully at the Bow Crest Care Centre on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the age of 105. She is lovingly remembered by her family and friends, both in Canada and in England. Dot, as she liked to be called, and her beloved husband Arthur, who died in 1997, came to Canada from England in their late seventies, to begin a new life near to their daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Geoffrey Haigh. Geoffrey, sadly, died in 2002, but Shirley, along with her children Susan, Stephen (Nathalie), Richard (Charlotte), Michael (Dana), and Philip (Kathleen), and grandchildren Zoe, Aidan, Emmanuelle, Connel, Kiera and Liam, will always miss Dot's gentle loving-kindness, and that ever-welcoming smile, cup of tea, and, until she could no longer bake, home-made scones, gingerbread and other treats. Dot also leaves behind in England her dear young brother Jack Bell, a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Joan, grandchildren Judy and David, great-grandchildren James, Kate, Robert, David, Elizabeth and Charlotte, and great-great-grandson Oliver. She loved them all, family and friends alike, and was loved by them all in return. COOK, Margaret Jane Margaret passed away at Foothills Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the age of 95 years. SMITH, E. Kathleen (Kay) (nee Bennett) Peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in her 88th year, in the presence of the Lord with her family at her side. Beloved wife of the late George Graham Smith. Loving and devoted mother of Brenda and Paul (Cheryl). Predeceased by her parents Alpha and Nellie Bennett and brothers Hartney and Kenneth Bennett. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Kay trained as a registered nurse during WWII in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Eastern U.S.A.
