Elle était l'épouse bien-aimée et meilleure amie de Darren Hanna, une maman excellente et adorable pour Gabrielle et Jacob, fille bien-aimée de Lise Poulin et de feu André Taillon, soeur de Denis Taillon (Cathy), belle-fille de Sophie Hanna. Sa famille, ses amis et ses collègues se souviendront avec tendresse et affection de Dominique et elle nous manquera profondément. HOOPER, Carol - Winnipeg, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008. She was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie Clark (Halifax). She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jim, and their children, Marina, Jimmy, Danny and Rick, and their families. She is also survived by by her sisters, Sheila, Nancy, Marcia, Cindy, and brother, Terry. She was predeceased by sisters, Brenda and Kelly, and brother, Bud; also her great-grandchild, Jaylese Summers. Memorial service will be held in Winnipeg on Wednesday, March 12. Elle a oeuvré pendant de nombreuses années à l'Institut Albert-Prévost, elle fut une musicienne accomplie et fut très impliquée dans l'Amicale des anciennes élèves de la Congrégation Notre-Dame dont elle aura été la présidente pendant plusieurs années. AVIS DE DÉCÈS Monsieur Raymond Lacelle de Hawkesbury est décédé paisiblement à la maison entouré de sa famille le jeudi 6 mars 2008, à l'âge de 74 ans. Il était l'époux de Jeannine D'Amour Lacelle; le fils de feu Adélard Lacelle et de feu Dora Ménard; le frère de Maurice (Pauline Latour), Thérèse (Jean-Charles Ravary), Réjeanne (René Crête), Robert (Claudette Boyer), Hélène ( Nick Steiner), Pauline (feu Claude Gagné) et Madeleine (André Dionne). Il fut prédécédé par deux frères: Rhéal (feu Simone Forgette) et Phillipe (Rollande Lalonde) ainsi qu'une soeur, Reina Léveillé (feu André). Lui survivent également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs; deux tantes: Noëlla Gougeon et Jeanne Deslorier; cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et amis. Le 10 mai 2008 marquera le 32e anniversaire d'une greffe de rein que Raymond a reçu d'un donneur anonyme. Depuis ce temps, la famille pense toujours à cette personne à chaque anniversaire. Grâce à ce généreux don, Raymond a pu vivre de belles années entourées des gens qui lui était les plus chers. Suddenly and unexpectedly at the Fire Hall in Fitzroy Harbour with his beloved wife Mary by his side on Friday morning, March 7th, 2008. ROSS, Lachlan Eoin MacRae Lac Ross, former Ontario Land Surveyor, "crossed the great divide" suddenly, but very peacefully, in hospital, with his family by his side, on Sunday, March 9, 2008. Much loved brother of Fairley Baker (Cecil) of Philadelphia, and Malcolm (Judy) of Aylmer, Quebec. Predeceased by older brother Bob. Proud uncle of Colin Ross of Toronto, Alison Leeds and Malcolm Baker of New York, Rebekah Burke of Long Island, and Katie Ross and Jennifer Ross-Carriere of Ottawa. Lac was fortunate to have a caring extended family including sister-in-law Judy Ross-Presley, and best friend and cousin Rod Matheson, who is a brother to us all. Lac was a book of knowledge, a man's man, who loved to golf and talk...about anything! He boasted of the many accomplishments of the younger members of our family, as long as they were out of hearing range. He will be missed by his good friends, Darlene Gouda and Ron Desjardins, who were always so kind to him, especially in the last few years. He will never know how really loved he was, by so many. Visitation will be at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, Baseline Rd., Ottawa, from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 12, to service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow. MEIKLE, Helen Patricia (nee Mulcair). It is with great sadness that the children and sisters of Pat Meikle announce her death, on March 10, 2008 in Toronto after a year-long illness. Pat was born in Montreal on February 14, 1924 and grew up in Westmount, Quebec. She graduated from Saint Paul's Academy in 1941, and from the Mother House Secretarial College in 1942. Following graduation, she took a position as legal secretary at the Montreal firm of Montgomery McMichael (now Ogilvy Renault), where she worked until her marriage to the late James Edward Meikle on September 18, 1952. Pat pursued her chosen career as wife, mother and grandmother, with kindness, common sense, humour and great deal of devotion, for fifty-six years. She was much loved, and will be greatly missed, by her sisters Barbara Mulcair and Sister Anne-Marie Mulcair, CND; her children Victoria, Susan and Ross Coyles, Jamie, Heather and Adrian Johnson, Thomas and Melanie Rockliff, Gregory and Rachel Jewell; and her grandchildren Jamie, Gillian, Kieran, Devon, Natasha, Dunham and Jackson; and by her friends. Mildred Moisse FERGUS, ON - Peacefully, at the age of 81 following a long struggle with diabetes, Mildred Evangeline Moisse (nee Arsenault) passed away with her son at her side, on March 6, 2008 at Groves Memorial Hospital, in Fergus, Ontario. Predeceased by husband George Moisse of London Ontario, Mildred will be missed by her loving son Jim and his wife Mary; daughter Carolann and her husband Dan; her dear grandchildren, Kate and Paul, and their mother Angela. She will be remembered by her many brothers and sisters in New Brunswick, whom she loved very much; and many nieces and nephews in Ontario and all across Canada. Although a resident of London Ontario most of her adult life, Mildred always wished to return to New Brunswick. BANKS, Paul Burton - 77, Millville, Kings Co., passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Reginald and Kathleen (Annis) Banks. In his earlier years Paul worked in Glace Bay for several years and also for Irving Oil Limited and Petro Canada for 25 years. Later, he and Violet retired home to Millville in 1985. Paul and Violet loved to travel and after her passing in 1990, he continued to travel for many years. He was also an avid reader and a good friend to many and he will be truly missed. He is survived by his sisters, Olga Dalgleish, Edmonton, Alta.; Rowena Banks, Montreal, Que.; brothers, Roland (Shirley) Banks, Tremont; Milford (Rose) Banks, Enfield; David Banks, Edmonton; several nieces and nephews and was blessed to have kind and loving neighbours in his life, Mary and Milton Palmer, Millville. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, the former Violet Stingle. By request, there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in Morristown Cemetery, Rev. HARDY, Jean Naomi - 67, Truro, passed away Sunday March 9, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Sydney, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late William and Abigail (Hilchey) Wentworth. Jean was a store manager at Sears in Amherst where she retired in 1983. Jean loved her family, loved her pets and loved to travel. Jean was a very outgoing person and when you met her, you had a friend for life. She is survived by her husband, Ashton "Pete"; daughter, Susan (David) McIntyre, Tatamagouche; brother, William "Bill" (Joan), Bracebridge, Ont.; sister, Stella (Aubrey) Hines, Ovieda, Fla.; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and where a memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m., both in Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. Rev. David Lutes will officiate, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. MARSH, Victoria Louise - 92, Dartmouth, passed away March 10, 2008, in Saint Vincent's Nursing Home. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late William and Elsie (Watson) Dean. She was a well-loved VON nurse in Dartmouth until her retirement at age 70. She was also a member of Gamma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, for over 50 years. She enjoyed getting together with her sorority sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Eve (David) Campbell, New Zealand; granddaughter, Cathy (Craig); sister, Onie, Ottawa; several nieces and nephews, and many friends who will all miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her loving husband, David Marsh; sisters, Lorna, Mary-Ellen, Amelia, Stella, Edie, and Muriel; brothers, Perry and Doug. The family would like to thank all the staff of Saint Vincent's Nursing Home for their loving care. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. MURPHY, Alice Anita - 84, Hemlock Hill, Plymouth, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Ann (Fraser) Webster. Alice grew up in McLennan's Mountain. She was married in 1952 in Sudbury, Ont., where she lived until her return to Pictou County in 1966. Prior to moving to Ontario, she worked as a medical secretary for several years for Dr. Sproull in New Glasgow. Alice enjoyed playing the piano. Surviving are sons, Fraser, New Glasgow; John (Brenda), Plymouth; Robert (Wendy), Mountville; grandchildren, Cara (Ray) Fowler, Holly and Paul, Kevin and Alicia, Sarah (Shawn) Murphy, Neil, and Kenneth; great-grandsons, Tristan and Grady; brother, Bill (Noellande) Webster, Lansdowne, Ont.; goddaughter, Patricia Matheson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; twin brother in infancy and a great- grandson, Tyler in infancy. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in McLennan's Mountain Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Building Fund, McLennan's Mountain Cemetery or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

PHILLIPS, Rita Eleanor - 93, of Robertson Avenue, Springhill, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008, at her residence. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanette (Bigney) Phillips. She was an adherent of St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill, and a former member of Springhill Centennial Golf Club. She enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, the camp at Sutherland's Lake, sing-songs with the ukelele, her family and friends. She is survived by brother, Arthur, Amherst; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Ethel, Norma and Olive. Cremation has taken place under the direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. A graveside committal service will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date. If so desired, donations to the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre, Springhill, or a charity of choice would be appreciated.

SMITH, Beverly Ann - 58, Dartmouth, passed away March 9, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Capt. Edward Owen and Kizzie (Grandy) Grandy. Beverly was full of life, loved her family and friends. She was a caring and loving wife and mother to her children and grandchildren, which she was quite proud of. Beverly was very giving and she embraced and loved everyone. She was an avid reader, fond of cooking and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the cottage. She always enjoyed playing cards with the children, Bible study on Tuesday nights and driving. She had a gift to embrace children with special needs. Too bad there were not more people in the world like Beverly. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, John; daughter, Heather (Matthew) Banfield, Eastern Passage; sons, Trevor John (Cheryl Arenburg), Craig Leigh, both of Dartmouth; sister, Marilyn Louise (Ron) Conrod, Dartmouth; special sister-in-law, Nancy (Terry) McIntyre, Shelburne; grandchildren, Heidi Adeline and Alexis Kizzie; niece, Rhonda (Cory Morgan); nephews, Owen, Peter, Joey, and Mark; great-niece, Kayla and great-nephew, Cameron. La famille Beaupré a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de MADAME ANITA BEAUPRÉ décédée paisiblement le dimanche 2 mars 2008, au Foyer du Bonheur, à l'âge de 88 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Cordélia D'Aoust et de feu Pierre-Charles Beaupré. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses 2 soeurs: Rose (feu Georges Cyr) et Colette (Raymond Denault) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Elle fut prédécédée par sa soeur Marguerite ainsi que par ses 5 frères: Lionel (Rita Bélanger), Gérard, Ernest, Georges (Pauline Peterson) et Arthur (feu Berthe Marinier). Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Selon les volontés de la défunte, les funérailles ont eu lieu dans l'intimité de la famille. Il était le fils de feu André Bénard et de Thérèse Legault et le tendre époux de Rachel Grégoire. Outre son épouse et sa mère, il laisse dans le deuil ses filles: Manon (André Sarault), Natalie (Marc Lalonde) et Anie (Luc Charrette); ses 6 petits-enfants: Mathieu, Roch, Noémie, Véronique, Francis et Christianne; son frère Daniel (Line Lavoie); ses soeurs: Ginette (Belvin Smiley) et Lisette (Jean-Marc Jetté); ses beaux-frères: Roland Grégoire et Yvon Bourguoin; son grand ami Neil Ridgeway (Julie Lafrance) ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, petites-nièces et ami(e)s. Il fut prédécédé par sa soeur Louise. Un service en présence des cendres sera célébré le mercredi 12 mars 2008 à 11h, en l'église Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, 45 rue Prévost, secteur Hull. La famille recevra les condoléances à l'église à compter de 10h30. En mémoire d'André, des dons à la Société du diabète seraient appréciés.
