DICKSON, Joseph Campbell - Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Center, at the age of 92 years. Born on June 26, 1915, at Greenock, Scotland, to the late George and Catherine Dickson. Joseph was the beloved husband of the Ellen Dickson (formerly Richardson), who passed away in 2004. He will be lovingly missed by Ellen's daughter Lois Keenan and her husband Larry, his caregivers for many years. Remembered by Ellen's sons John Richardson (Peggy) and Steve Richardson (Jane) and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Cherished uncle to Margaret, Marion, Robert, Lisa, Tracey and Norman of Glasglow, Scotland. Joe was a member and enrolled in the Toronto Scottish Regiment. He served in the Canadian Army in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe for a period of seven years. A Special thank you to the entire staff and nursing care at Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Center for the love and compassion shown and given to Joe. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, March 11th from 10:00 am until time for Funeral Services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. PIPE, Laura (nee Gibbons) - Peacefully, at the John Noble Home on Friday, March 7th, 2008. Beloved wife of the late George Pipe (2005), and the late Robert Gordon Poag (1964). Loving mother of Judy (Poag) Johnson and her husband Wayne, the late Janet (Bill) Stevens, and her step-sons Richard Pipe and his wife Maredith, and Roger Pipe and his wife Christine. She is predeceased by her parents Carrie and Ted Gibbons, her sisters Doris Oros, and Barbara Howard, and her brother Cecil Gibbons. Laura is the cherished grandmother of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will also be sadly missed by many other family members and friends. BURGESS, MARJORIE ANNIE (CLINGO) With great sadness we announce that our mother, Marjorie Annie (Clingo) Burgess, of 500-110 Venus Court, Fredericton, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday March 7th, 2008. Marjorie was predeceased in 1991 by Charles, her husband of over 50 years. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Maude Clingo; her brother, Derek Clingo; and two sisters, Eileen Ebbett, and Kathleen Gaunce. She is survived by three sons and their families, John (Janet) and Paul (Marlene) of Fredericton, and Keith (Sheree) of Smithfield. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Nancy, Brian, Carl, Kirsten, Karen, and Whitney; by her great-grandchildren, Avery, Alicia, Brandon, Christopher, and Phillip, and by many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Joan Moore of Fredericton; and one brother, Keith Clingo of Quispamsis. Born in England in 1913, Marjorie immigrated to Canada with her family in 1921 and lived in Upper Hampstead near Gagetown. She was a registered nurse by profession, having studied in Saint John, and graduated from the nursing program at the former Chipman Memorial Hospital in St Stephen NB in 1937. Marjorie and Charles resided in Milltown NB with their three sons until they moved to Fredericton (Silverwood) in 1958. Following Charles' death, Marjorie moved to her Venus Court condominium, where she enjoyed the friendship of many wonderful close neighbors. Marjorie was a member of the Christ Church Parish Church. For many years as a nurse, she cared for others, first in St Stephen and then in Fredericton. After retiring from nursing, her caring for others took many forms including visiting and helping those in need, providing knitting for the Church and the Salvation Army, and sharing her celebrated rolls and pies with many who enjoyed them. Barkley especially enjoyed her affectionate greetings and the special doggie treats which she always had for him. Her sons feel truly blessed to have had her as a vital part of their lives for so many great years. We treasure the knowledge that her family meant so very much to her. It was Mom's wish to have no visitation, and she requested only a simple service. She wanted us to remember her in our hearts. Memorial donations may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are being provided by Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton. A funeral service will be scheduled at a later date, and her ashes will be interred beside her late husband Charles, in the St John's Anglican Church Cemetery in Gagetown. March 10, 2008

DUMONT, James Kenneth Flight Lieutenant (retired) James Kenneth (Monty) Dumont filed his final flight plan on Friday March 7, 2008. He leaves behind his beloved co-pilot, Constance Ruth (Connie) and his flight crew of Candice (Guy Levy), Ken (Becky), Wade (Wendy), Greg (Diane), and Geoff (Roxan). MATHEW, Rachel Died at 7:40 p.m. on March 7th at the Ottawa Heart Institute after suffering a heart attack. Devoted wife of Perumpral Mathew for more than 50 years. Loving mother to Himal (Jo Anne) and doting grandmother of Creston and Kieran. Rachel was the youngest of 9 very close siblings born to a lawyer in South India on October 28, 1928. She lived on three continents, survived a war, and according to a friend "was the most gracious woman I ever saw." Rachel taught math for more than 40 years including 22 years at Richmond Regional School in Richmond, Quebec with great dedication to her students. Phone calls from around the world after her death showed the powerful impact she had on a great many lives. The family wish to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Ottawa Heart Institute for their special kindness and care. WILE, Wallace Allison - 91, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, on Friday, March 7, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., on May 20, 1916, he was the son of the late Evans and Estelle (Walker) Wile. His career was devoted almost entirely to music, serving with both the Princess Louise Fusiliers, and The Royal Canadian Artillery Bands during the Second World War. Following the war he joined the Stadacona Band from which he retired in 1968. Among the many highlights of his years with the Stadacona Band he was most proud of his participation in the first International Tattoo held at Expo '67 in Montreal. He was an accomplished musician playing several instruments including, trumpet, violin, clarinet, organ, but primarily piano and saxophone. He moved to Port Wallace in 1955 and was a member of St. Thomas Moore Church. Gardening was a favourite hobby and one that he enjoyed for more than 50 years. He also enjoyed social evenings playing cards at Brightwood Golf and Country Club. Following his retirement from the service he joined the Naval Research Establishment, Dartmouth, which later became the Defense Research Establishment Atlantic where he worked until 1981. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Gaudet), of Summerside, P.E.I., in 1964; daughter, Marcia Doucette (Bernie) in 1994; sister, Ulua Mott (Ralph). He is survived by his second wife, Anita (Himelman) (Johnstone) Wile; daughter, Sharon (MacKenzie) LeBlanc (Dr. Clement), Elgin, N.B.; son, Daniel (Janice), Waverley; grandchildren, Christopher Stewart (Janice), Andrea (MacKenzie) Rowe, Andrew MacKenzie, Evan Wile (Jennifer) and Sarah (Wile) Clapham (Warren), as well as Anita's children, Patsy Leitch (Fred), Gail Symonds (George), Joan Swinimer, Michael Johnstone (Debbie) and their extended families. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the dedicated caregivers of Northwood Homecare Ltd. who provided such excellent support over the last few years. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital for the care during the last three weeks. He was the son of the late Hansford and Sadie (McGarity) Ryder and was the husband of the late Pearl (Phillips) Ryder who passed away in 2004. Levi is survived by three daughters, Isabell Clark and her husband Lloyd of Cumberland Bay, Eva Wood and her husband Beverley and Hazel Wiggins of Coles Island; two sons, Robert Ryder and his wife, Betty of Waterboro, Beverley Ryder and his wife, Yvette of Mountain, Ontario; 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Levi was predeceased by his brother, Hansford; four sisters, Olive McBeath, Eva Barton, Violet Ryder and May Ryder; a great-grandson, Spencer Wood; and by his son-in-law, Floyd Wiggins. PHILLIPS, CAPTAIN R.O. (JERRY) - Jerry, 65, of Grand Bay, passed away early Friday March 7, 2008, following a brief yet intense battle with an illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barb; his son, Kris (Cynthia); his daughter, Sherri (Trevor); his grand daughter, Ava; his mother, Marjorie; and his two sisters, Louise (Bobby) and Judy (Jack). Jerry was predeceased by his father, Jerry (Sr.); and by an infant daughter, Terri Lynn. A connoisseur of "fine" instant coffee, Jerry spent his 50-year working life on or near the waters of the Eastern Seaboard. He reveled in his time at sea with Atlantic Towing, Irving's Refining Division and the Saint John Harbour Pilot's Assoc., but more importantly he most enjoyed dealing with those he met through his work and while helping others. Always willing to assist and ever keen to encourage those in whom he saw potential, Jerry will be most remembered for his selflessness; caring; and quick (oftentimes funny) quips. A wonderful man, husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend; he will be sadly missed. On this, his final voyage, may he encounter only fair winds and calm seas. Godspeed. Mother of James (Terri) of Courtice, Paul (Doreen) of Oshawa, Michael (Mary) of Toronto, Theresa (Bill) Vermulst of Whitby, and Kevin (Cindy) of Saint John, NB. Grandmother to Nikki (Adam), Steven, Bill, Lindsay, Joseph, Lori, Michael and Alison. Great-Grandmother to Alexander and Lauren. Born November 29th, 1927, daughter of the late Maurice and Anna (Sullivan) Garvin. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas (in infancy), and Maurice (2004), and three sisters, Doris (1939), Carmela, R.N. (1990), and Geraldine (2004). She is survived by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Kilravey and Noreen Palmer, both of Saint John, NB. A graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing (1948), Theresa worked part- or full-time throughout her career, retiring as a Nurse with Corrections Canada in 1992. Theresa and Jim raised their family in Saint John, NB, moving to Oshawa in 1973 and Whitby in 1985. She valued family vacation and had a cottage on Bradley Lake, NB from 1960 forward, and went to St. Petersburg, Florida every year from the mid 70's until recently. She truly enjoyed her cards and friendships at the Whitby Seniors Centre. Theresa was an immensely practical person, always keeping her priorities straight. She was a lady to her core. Deeply caring and supportive to her family and friends, wasting nothing, her legacy will live on in every wise choice we make. GELDART, CATHERINE OLIVIA (1917-2008) - Pollett River, NB, Catherine Olivia Geldart passed away at the Palliative Care wing of Moncton Hospital on Saturday evening March 8th, 2008 in her 91st year after losing a 6 month battle with cancer. She was born at Parkindale, Albert County on July 30, 1917, the second daughter of H. Beverly and Lula C. (Geldart) Prosser of Parkindale. She leaves to mourn one sister, Frances Murray, Petitcodiac; one brother, Cecil (Agnes) Prosser of Calgary; sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Nelson) Smith, Petitcodiac, Margaret "Peg" Reeder, PEI; brother-in-law, Evans (Myrtle) Geldart of Petitcodiac, along with many nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Guy B. Geldart in 1989; and by an infant daughter, Adriene in 1940; sisters, Alice (John) Joyce in 1991, Verna (Wallace) Gillcash in 1995; and her younger brother, Clarence in 2006. She was a member of the Forest Glen Baptist Church and continued to attend the Prosser Brook Baptist Church when possible. She was a Dominion Life Member of the United Baptist Woman's Missionary Union and a valued member of her community for over seven decades. FORESTELL, JAMES LEEMAN LYONS - James Leeman Lyons Forestell passed away on Saturday evening March 8th, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Leeman was born on November 11th, 1952 to the late Edward J. and Helen E. (Betty) Lyons Forestell. Lee is survived by several cousins; as well as his extended family through Community Living Options Inc.; and Ginger Leavitt, his very special caregiver for the past eight years. Lee had retired from Key Industries where he attended for over 25 years. He had been a member of the Saint John and Quispamsis Special Olympics bowling team. John Edward George Clark John Edward George Clark, 96, of The Briarlea and formerly of Riverview, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday March 8, 2008. Born in Woodstock, John was the son of the late George Franklin and Anna (Lee) Clark. John was a retired banker with RBC. He was an honorary lifetime member of The Moncton Press Club, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and riding his ATV at the camp in Albert County, but first and foremost he enjoyed spending quality time with his loving family and friends. Born on December 4, 1923 in Doaktown, N.B, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Amy (Price) Beek. Mary was a member of Our Lady Of Annunciation in Doaktown, N.B and also the Doaktown Legion Branch #23 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary also enjoyed gardening.
