Prédécédée par ses parents: Aurélien Myre et Françoise Chatillon; son frère: Jean-Paul, elle laisse dans le deuil, ses deux fils adorés: Denis Bisson (Terry Cullen) de Kemptville, On., Michel Bisson (Tracy Witham) de Dundalk, On.; ses petits-enfants: Daniel et Patrick Bisson, Dana et Chantal Bisson, Sarah Beth Baker et un arrière-petit-fils, Benjamin Bisson. Mr. Lawrence Gordon Hicks was a Arden pilot for fifty-eight years. He started to fly with the Canadair Club and later joined the Montreal Soaring Club in Hawkesbury where he became a member. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Markowski of Hawkesbury and Dr. David Allan of Ottawa for all the special attention and care given to Lawrence Gordon Hicks. MACDONALD, Donald "Don" Wallace Peacefully at Granite Ridge Specialty Care, on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Rachel "Ray" (nee Abbey). Loving father of Malcolm (Beverley Smith) of Ottawa and Linda (Thomas Gray) of Seaforth, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of Marie (David Filmer) of Brisbane, Australia, Blaine of Ottawa and the late Krista. Don was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Canadian Army overseas from 1940 to 1945. Following the war, he returned to Montreal to work at the Family Herald and Weekly Star as Associate Editor; before moving to Ottawa in 1969 to join Agriculture Canada. He retired in 1979. A Memorial Service will take place in the spring. A special thank you to the staff at Granite Ridge for their compassionate care over the past 4 years. MASON, Cecilia Theresa (nee Larkin) Born October 21, 1915 St-Peter's Bay, Prince Edward Island Died February 27, 2008 Gatineau, Quebec Surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, William Larkin and Lucy O'Connell. Beloved wife of the late Henry Warren Mason. Predeceased by her sisters: Mary, Margaret and Monica. Also predeceased by her brothers: Joseph and John. Mother of Anthony (Lynne) and Paul (Isabelle). Predeceased by her darling son in heaven, David Vincent. Cherished grandmother of Tara, Tony (Becky), Stephanie, Nicole and Logan. Great-grandmother of Braiden and Hannah. Cecilia will be fondly remembered by three favorite nieces: Monica Callaghan and Cecilia Coady, Prince Edward Island and Lucy Ursulak, Edmonton, Alberta. Well known for her tremendous generosity, Cecilia was a long time foster mother of many children overseas and also an ardent financial supporter of various humanitarian causes. Upon retirement from Canada Post, Cecilia worked for 18 years as a volunteer cashier at the General Hospital in Ottawa until age 84, and beyond that as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Aylmer. Heartfelt thanks for the assistance of Bernie Langill (Henry's best friend), to her personal physician, Dr. Michel Finlay. A message of deep appreciation to the wonderful nursing and support staff at Residence de La Gappe. OBITUARY ARMANDO O. BATTISTA 1936 - 2008 In Kingston, on March 2, 2008, at the age of seventy-one years, passed away peacefully Armando O. Battista with his family at his side. He is predeceased by his father Antonio Battista and his mother Theodora Colarusso as well as his sisters Gene and Lena. Beloved husband of Barbara Battista. Lovingly remembered by his sister Maria Battista Gemme, his five stepchildren, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandsons and other relatives and friends. Armando Battista began his career with Canadian National Railways at at early age and retiring from VIA Rail in 1990. Armando loved every aspect of the railway industry. He was passionate about his work and was a highly respected expert in air brakes and was a member of and president of the International Air Brake Association. He later co-founded ALP Rail Industries Inc. His greatest joy was to be fishing or teaching to fish with his grandchildren sharing his "stories" with them. The grandchildren delighted in his companionship. He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to doctors Ilan and Hussein, as well as Kidd-6 nurses and assistants for their kindness and compassion. DUNN, Thomas. 1918-2008. In Chateaugay, on March 1, 2008 at the age of eighty-nine years, passed away Thomas Dunn, beloved husband of the late Viola Edna Gillepsie. OBITUARY MICHAEL GARTH McCAULEY After a courageous battle with cancer, Michael passed away peacefully at home in his sixty-second year on Saturday, March 1. He was a loving husband to Linda and devoted Father to Michael and Jessica. He will also be missed by his sister Geraldine Fuller and brothers Bob, Bill and Larry as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his parents Robert Joseph and Janet McCauley (nee Donihee) as well as his sister Maureen. Michael was born October 28, 1945 in Montreal, Quebec and was the co-owner and founder of Nearly New Golf Balls Inc. He will be remembered well by his many friends in the golf industry. PARKER, Ronald Everett - 69, Windsor, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Born January 7, 1939, in Kentville, he was a son of the late J. Willard and Florence (Bennett) Parker. Everett worked for many years in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing darts and being in the company of his friends. He will be missed by his friends and family. Everett is survived by sister, Joyce Pittman, Windsor; brothers, Lewis, Ontario; George, Alberta; Ross, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, June Vandersluys. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). ARSENAULT, J. Albert The death occurred very peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Sunday, March 2, 2008, of J. Albert Arsenault, dear husband of the late Anita, of Wellington, at the age of 88 years. He is the son of late Jeremie and Marie (nee Pitre) Arsenault. He is survived by his beloved sons and daughters, Adrienne (Don) Ferrish of St. Nicholas, Cecile (Jimmy) Ellis of Northam, Lorraine (Melvin) Gallant of Abrams Village, Albert Jr. (Mona) of St. Gilbert, Billy (Janet) of Cornwall, Wayne of Miscouche, Nola (Ivy) Noye of Summerside, Anne (Shaun) Fitzgerald of Sherbrooke, Melvin (Kathy) of Toronto, Jean Louis (Rochelle) of Rustico, Richard (Anne) of Wellington; a brother, Joe (Zelica) of Mt. Carmel; and sisters, Therese of Dieppe, Louise (Sanford) Roach of Charlottetown, and Aurore (Fidele) of Montreal; also 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; friend, Marie Gallant and a special cousin, Albert Spencer. Besides his wife, Anita, and his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Arsene and Denis. He was a member of the Wellington Royal Canadian Legion for 60 years and also a member of Club 50, and a great supporter of theco-op movement. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Wednesday, then to Immaculate Conception Church, Wellington, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Visitation shall be received on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion will have a service at the funeral home on Monday at 6:45 p.m. Entombment will be in the church receiving vault.

Remembered by her sisters, Sister Mary Sullivan CSM, Eileen Scully (Stephen), Beatrice Stewart (Thomas) and Zeta MacLeod (Raymond) and by her brothers, Leo Sullivan (Aurore) and Michael Sullivan (Agnes). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, grand- nieces and nephews, and especially by Anne Fitzsimmonds and Bill Sullivan, a niece and nephew who were brought up with the family. FOLKINS, C. Weldon G. "Curly" - On February 24, 2008, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Weldon died after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Paula, Glades Lodge, Halifax. They would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this month. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Joan Scrase, Brandon, Man., and Diane Jenks, Pender Island, B.C., and their husbands; five nieces and three nephews. Weldon was born in Saint John, N.B., on April 26, 1922, to Cecil Weldon Folkins and Margaret Elizabeth Chapman Folkins. He was also predeceased by his only sibling, Doris. Weldon served in the Canadian Army for 26 years. During this time, he spent 13 months in Korea and then varied postings across Canada. He held the rank of sergeant and was a wireless radio mechanic. When he retired from the army in 1976, they moved to Glen Margaret and he worked at the electronics firm, Nautel. His interest in electronics continued after retirement and he kept up to date on many of the advancements in the field. He loved to question his niece (an aeronautical engineer) on her work. Weldon was also a volunteer fireman in his community who loved the outdoors and spent much of his time walking his Keeshond dogs. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and burial at William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret, will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. BIRD, Norma Rebecca "Becky" - 51, Queen Street, Springhill, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Chambers) Bird. Becky loved to paint and play cards, but most of all, she loved being a mom. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Ann Marie; brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, with Rev. Perry Hanley officiating. Burial in Mapleton Cemetery, Cumberland County, at a later date. CARPENTER, Joseph Vincent - May 6, 1927-March 1, 2008. On Saturday, Vince, surrounded by his family, died the way he lived, with dignity and courage. He lived with his illness in the same way he lived the rest of his life, never losing his sense of humour and continuing to enjoy the company of family and friends. His concerns were never for himself, but rather for those around him. He determined at a young age that his most important goal in life was to build a home and family, and he did that with the same determination and care that he took in anything he did in life. Vince will always live in the hearts of his loving wife, Shirley, and their seven children, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. "Gampsie" will be remembered by his family for his quick wit, encouragement, and loving smile. His children are Greg (Susie), Cathy (Russell) Boyle, Carol (Ken) Taggart, Joe (Karen), Michael, Jeff (Suzanne) and David (Ruth). He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Jean McNeil, and his companionship will be deeply missed by his brother-in-law, Jack McNeil and his wife Terry. He was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm, and sisters, Mary and Mickey. He went to work at the age of 15 with the CNR and later became a sheet metal worker. He continued in that trade until he retired from Nautical Electronics in 1988. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 6, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rockingham, Father Bernard O'Neill officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Michael's Cemetery in Brule, near the cottage at Seafoam - Vince's favourite place.

CUNNINGHAM, Pat - 84, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, took her final journey on Sunday morning, March 2, 2008, surrounded by angels, family and friends. Born Isobel Frances, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Molly (McGurk) Patrick (St. John's, N.L.). Following service with the RCAF, she came with her new husband, Gerald, to his home in Antigonish, where they remained and enjoyed a happy 63 years together. Pat was an active member of St. James United Church and sang in the choir for over 50 years, as well as serving on many committees as a member of the UCW. She was an active and involved member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Arras Branch 59, Antigonish, and served as the first female president. She cared for all who came under her roof. Pat is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Pamela, Antigonish; son, Douglas (Laura Jo), Raymond, Maine; grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel (Amy), Jonathan (Crista), Sibyl and Isobel; nephew, David; nieces, Patricia and Anne. DeMONT, Carl Max - 76, Upper Nine Mile River, passed away suddenly on March 3, 2008, at home. Born in Gore, Hants Co., he was a son of the late James and Pearl (MacLeod) DeMont. Carl worked for many years in the lumber and landscaping business and Gays River Mine in the screening plant. He was an avid bingo and card player. He was caring person, who was always willing to help others. Carl's greatest love was his family, especially his two grandsons, whom he dearly loved. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Carl is survived by his wife, the former Merlene (Elliott); daughter, Pamela DeMont and spouse, William Conrad; grandsons, Joshua and Brandon, Rawdon Gold Mines; brothers, Roy (Cheryl), Laurie (Katie), both of Nine Mile River; Perry (Carol), Halifax; Gary (Shirley), Rawdon Gold Mines; several nieces and nephews. DONNELLY, Anne Mary - St. John's, N.L., and recently of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, after a short illness on March 3, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Cole) O'Neill of St. John's. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Donnelly; son-in-law, Brian Casey; granddaughters, Anastasia Donnelly and Deirdre Casey, and by her brother Edward O'Neill, St. John's. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank (Dee) Donnelly; her sisters, Mary Ungaro and Eleanor Thistlethwaite, both of Niagara Falls, Ont., and by her brothers, Jim, Jack and Pat, all of St. John's. HAYES, James Albert - 65, Brooklyn, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 29, 2008, at home. He was the son of the late Albert Hayes and brother of the late Frank Hayes. He is survived by his mother, Mildred (Mood) Hayes; sister, Doris (Doug) White; loving wife of 42 years, Jackie (Trefry); daughter, Linda O'Connell (Earl Hersey) of Port Maitland; son, William Hayes of Yarmouth; daughter, Tanya (Elmer) Doucette "Daddy's little girl", Swan Lake, Man.; grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle and Craig O'Connell, Hannah and Dominique Doucette. He was a self-employed carpenter prior to establishing the Christmas tree plantation with his brother, Frank. He lived a simple life, close to nature, enjoying hunting and fishing from his camp in Kempt, as well as camping with family and friends at Chebogue Point. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. There will be no funeral or flowers by family request. A gathering of family and friends for a sharing of memories will be held at his home on Friday, March 7, from 2-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Brooklyn Cemetery.

MacLEOD, Elizabeth Fraser - 94, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2008, in the home. Born November 4, 1913 in Eureka, Pictou Co., she was the daughter of the late William and Emily (Fraser) MacLeod. Elizabeth moved to Truro in 1917 where she attended school and later received her diploma in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University. She was a retired art teacher who taught in private schools for girls in Quebec, St. Helen's, Kings Hall and also at the P.G.B.G., Montreal, for 25 years. She joined Saint Andrew's United Church, Truro, as a teenager and she was a member of the UCW, Unit II. She also loved the experience of traveling and seeing the world, painting, drawing and sewing. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, A. Gordon MacLeod and his wife Dorothy Heather MacLeod. She is survived by cousins in Vancouver, B.C. (MacLeod side) and Pictou County. (Fraser side). Special thanks are extended to the staff of Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Earth Angels, and to Elaine Curry and Marion Stoddart for their wonderful care. McEACHERN, Brian Francis - 67, Coldbrook, Kings Co., passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Nearing) McEachern. He was educated at St. Ann's School in Glace Bay and in 1957, joined the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1974, he transferred to HMC Dockyard, retiring as an engineer in 1993. He is survived by daughter, Marlene (Lawrence) Toney, Cambridge; sons, Thomas "Tommy" (Heather) and Robert "Bobby" (Linda), both of Edmonton, Alta.; brother, Paul (Norma MacIsaac), Halifax; nine grandchildren. MOORE, James Calvin - 73, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital, after 50 long years of pain and suffering. He was a son of the late Calvin and Jean (Neary) Moore. In his younger years, he served in the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard. As health permitted, Jim enjoyed fishing, basketball, hockey, gardening, photography, and was one terrific cook. Over the years, he was a member of the City of Lakes Barbershop Chorus, Stairs Memorial United Church choir, the Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre choir, a 40 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160, and a long-time member of many dart teams throughout the area. Jim particularly enjoyed the company of his much loved Newfoundland dogs and his Tiny Timothy teacup poodle. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marjorie Winnifred, and their only son, James Derek; granddaughters, Christina and Angela; his only sister, Lorraine Thomas; his "own Pat", much loved mother-in-law, Brantford, Ont.; his very special cousin, Doris Blood "Tookie", and her entire family in Middleton, with whom he recalled many wonderful times of childhood; aunt, Gladys, Vancouver; aunt, Mabel, Dartmouth, and their families; nieces and nephews; his very special nurse both at home and in hospital, "Claire"; and his much missed brothers and sisters-in-law in Brantford and Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. Jim was always happy to see the smiling faces from his many visitors from church and family friends, Mike Newton and Jim's "Cutie", Lorraine Daley, another special nurse. Our most gracious thanks go out to Jim's very special family doctor, Dr. Findlay Spicer, who cared for Jim for the last 25 years. Thanks also to Dr. Savvopolous at Dartmouth General Hospital and a wonderful friend, now deceased, Dr. E.A. Moore. Jim's final day with us was a happy one in the company of his very caring nurse, Sue, and the happy times music maker with his guitar who actually had Jim awake and clapping, and we thank them for their care and compassion. Visiting will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. James United Church, Portland Street, Dartmouth, Rev. He retired from Canada Packers and in his spare time, enjoyed walking, travelling and puzzles. Gerald was also a proud member of Billtown Baptist Church. THIBEAULT (Sim), Mary Carolyn - 85, Halifax, loving wife and mother, died on March 1, 2008, at home after a brief illness. A daughter of the late George and Margaret (Willis) Sim, she was educated at College Street School and the Convent of the Sacred Heart. After staying at home to raise her family and care for her mother, she had a successful career with the federal civil service. For many years she was an active member of the Sacred Heart Alumnae and a long-time member of the Waegwoltic Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and travelling. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothea (Mrs. Avard MacDonald). She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Leonard; daughters, Sheila (Derrick) Anthony, Pasadena, N.L.; Lorraine (Steve) Bezanson, Catherine Thibeault and Mary Thibeault (Herb Steeves), all of Halifax; grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Anthony, Pasardena, N.L.; Sarah Anthony, St. John's, N.L.; Nicholas Anthony, Guelph, Ont.; Frank Bezanson, Maggie Bezanson, Steve Bezanson and Hilary Steeves, all of Halifax; great-grandchild, Callie Anthony. VALENTINE (Boyd), Carole Carlene - 65, Truro, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was a daughter of the late Cecil and Inez (Whippie) Boyd. From 1959, Carole traveled with her husband, David, to numerous military bases across the country and overseas. In 1974 Carole and David retired from the military and opened their business, Valentine's Lock and Key, where Carole and David worked for 26 years until they both retired in 1997. After retiring, Carole maintained an active lifestyle serving the community, painting, caring for stray animals, and adventuring with her friends. She will be missed by her husband, her two daughters, her family, and her many, many friends. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, David; daughters, Katrina Valentine, Spokane, Wash.; Kelly Valentine, Dartmouth; sisters, Marilyn Higgins, Onslow; Lois (George) Josey, Sheet Harbour; brothers, Ritchie (Emily), Economy, Ben (Grace), Truro, Ken (Heather), Belmont; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Raymond and Frank. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5, from 7-9 p.m. with a memorial service Thursday, March 6, at 2 p.m. with Rev. McKnight 84, of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Born in Miramichi, he was the eldest of eleven children of the late Frank and Hannah (Jardine) MacKnight. A retired machinist with CNR, Don was a Veteran of WWII, having served overseas (1942 - 1946) in England, Holland, Normandy and Germany with the lst Hussars of London, ON. He was a 60 year member (Life) of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6, Past President of Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6 (1988, 1989), 40 year member of the Executive Board, Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6, Chairman, Legion District Golfing (10 years), founding member, former Chairman and volunteer driver of the Veteran's Van Association, Life member of Dieppe Military Veteran's Association, Riverview Veteran's Armed Forces Association, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, CNR War Veterans, Independent Association of Machinists, Former Chaplain of Veteran Services, Past Elder of Harrisville United Church and was active with Harrisville Cubs and Scouts. MUNN, MARY CHRISTINE The death of Mary Christine Munn, wife of the late Charles T. Munn, of Holtville took place at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Born in Hayesville, NB on April 16, 1929, she was the daughter of Mable Munn. Mary was a stay at home wife and mother of 10 children. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of Miramichi's First Pentecostal Church of Holtville. MYSHRALL, EDNA - At Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, February 29th, 2008, Mrs. Edna Myshrall of Grand Falls Portage passed away at the age of 90 years. She was the wife of the late Harold Myshrall. Born at Grand Falls in 1918, she was the last surviving child of the late Thomas and Agnes (Tobin) McCarthy. Mrs. Myshrall was a long-time member of the Catholic Women's League. GREEN, JAMES MATSON "MATT" - It is with great sadness that the family announces his unexpected death on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at his residence in Clifton Royal. Matt was born in 1965 in Saint John, the eldest son of James and Eleanor (Walton) Green of Saint John. He was a devoted son, father, brother and friend. GIGOU, GERARD - Gerard Gigou, of the Kennebec Manor passed away on Monday March 3rd, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Suzanne Elizabeth Gigou. Besides his wife, Gerard was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Roseanne (Robichaud) Gigou; three brothers, Robert, Louis and Clarence; two sisters, Francoise and Agnus. Gerard is survived by his son, Louis A. DOUCETTE, BEVERLEY HENRY 'BAMBI' - On March 3, 2008, Beverley Henry 'Bambi' Doucette, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He has gone to be with his Lord and savior after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of Mary Helena (Wilcox) Doucette of Quispamsis, NB, born in Saint John on November 5, 1931. He is survived by his five sons, and two daughters, David (Shawna) of Saint John, Beverly (Douglas) Fournier of Saint John, John (Virginia) of Quispamsis, James (Etta) of Saint John, Rodney (Bettie) of Saint John, Heather (John) Biggar of Saint John, Troy (Ronda) of Quispamsis, two sisters, Mary Alliston, Lena Sheehan (Leo), twenty grandchildren along with his eighteen great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his cat Babe. Predeceased by one granddaughter, Nancy Doucette, two brothers, William (Billy) and Arthur (Eddie) and by three sisters, Kathleen, Shirley and Rose. He was a truck driver at Culligan and Gaskin for years and a service technician with Irving Oil home heating for 23 years. In his years of retirement, he enjoyed fishing, playing family games and he loved all his family dearly. He attended Jesus of Nazareth and River Valley Weslyan Churches.
