BIGGER, Yvonne - Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital - NHS on Thursday, February 14, 2008, in her 79th year. Loving sister of Margaret Bailey of Cornwall, Ontario, and Estelle Dade of New York. Also survived by her nieces Claudis of New York, Collette of Cambride, Massachusetts, and by her close friends Maxine and Raymond Attick. Yvonne was a proud and dedicated member of T.O.P.S. BEWS, Josephine Mrs. Josephine Bews, a long-time resident of the Longview area, passed away at the Vulcan Extendicare on February 11, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Josephine is survived by her sister Theresa Ballard of Calgary. She will be dearly missed by her children William (Donna) of Longview, Lenore (Roy) McLean of Pekisko, Thomas (Rosemarie) of Longview, Joseph (Margaret) of Longview and Celia Mary (John) Allpress of Duncan, B.C.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her husband James Joseph in 1982 as well as a brother and three sisters. Josephine was born at the Big Rock Farm near Okotoks to Thomas and Annie Rimmer. In 1937, she married Joseph Bews and together on the Sullivan Creek, owned and operated the Y Cross Ranch. This is also where they raised their five children. At Josephine's request a Private Family Service will be held. DICKHOFF, Aida Aida Marie passed away peacefully at the George Boyack Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, five days before celebrating her 98th birthday. Mom was born at home in Goodeve, Saskatchewan, the third oldest of sixteen children. She married Joseph Dickhoff on October 18, 1930 and farmed in the Lashburn, Waseca Area of Saskatchewan. She moved to Calgary with her three children in 1940 when her husband Joseph joined the Army at the beginning of the Second World War. After retirement, Aida and Joe travelled to England, Scotland, and Portland, Oregon. They enjoyed the sun and sand in Hawaii during the winter months. Aida is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy (Glenn) Brand of Chestermere area, Shirley (Bud) La Fortune of Portland, Oregon and her son Conn (Mary Ann) of Crescent Beach, BC; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in October 1989 and a great-granddaughter Carly in 1979. Aida's family extend a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff on the Third Floor at the George Boyack Nursing Home for the love, support and comfort shown to their Mom and her family. Lucille, beloved wife of Steven Lang, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Intercare Chinook Hospice in Calgary on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Lucille was born on April 26, 1935 in Young, SK. Lucille was very special to all who knew her and will be remembered for being a wonderful wife and mother and having a very generous, giving spirit. She loved to organize family gatherings and we will all cherish the many laughs and good times we all shared with her. She will be fondly remembered for being a great cook and hostess. Lucille enjoyed travelling and she had many memorable trips with her husband and family over the years. We will never forget her beautiful laugh and smile. Her lovely, caring spirit will remain with us forever. MAYZES, Shirley Violet July 7, 1936 - February 11, 2008 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Violet Mayzes (nee Baxter), beloved wife of Edward Mayzes of Bragg Creek, on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Shirley was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She married her husband Edward Mayzes on September 14, 1956. She loved travelling, especially to Japan and Venice. Shirley was a great business woman and homemaker who loved her dogs, her children and grandchildren immensely. She had a weakness for dogs, chocolate, gnomes, fairies and fantasy. Shirley is survived and greatly missed by her husband Edward Mayzes; her sons, Daniel (Rena) Mayzes and Robbin Mayzes; her grandchildren, Megan, Matthew and Kaydie Mayzes; her great-granddaughter Taylor Mayzes; her brother Lance (Joy) Baxter of Lethbridge, AB; her sister Millie Conklin of Prince George, BC; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. MORLEY, Jim February 8, 1936 - February 13, 2008 Albert James George Morley, better known to everyone as Jim or A.J., passed away at the Agape Hospice on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 after an amazing four year battle with colon cancer. Jim is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Pat, son Darrell, daughters Cheryl (Charlie) and Michele, granddaughters Madeleine and Sarah and his sister Diana and her children Jim, Alynne, Tom and Glynis. He was sadly predeceased by his daughter Vicki on June 2, 1991. "It's not how you handle the good days but how you handle the bad ones" was something he taught us and exemplified to the very end. He was a loving, fun, generous, intelligent and creative man with an incredible wit, a huge sense of humour and a strong faith. His entrepreneurial spirit resulted in a career list that was long and varied - from pots and pans sales in Moncton, to police officer in Toronto, to real estate and junior hockey team owner in Calgary, to vehicle importer in Phoenix and back to stock trading in Calgary. He loved life and did it all. ROCHE, Anne Maria (Nan) October 4, 1925 - February 14, 2008 Nan passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Brentwood Nursing Home at the age of 82 years. Nan's family was everything to her and the family is saddened by her death but know she is at peace. Nan is survived by six children, Pauline (Bruce), Brian (Dot), Peter (Diane), Richard (Barbara), Ken (Judy) and Shanon (Tim). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven-and-a-half great-grandchildren and many friends and relatives in Ireland. Nan was predeceased by her husband Kevin and her son Kevin Jr. There will be a huge void in the lives of her family but we are happy knowing she has now been reunited with her husband and her son on this Valentine's Day. SPENCER, BLAINE ELIJAH The passing of Blaine Elijah Spencer, husband of Lillian (Lovelace) Spencer, of Hayesville, NB, occurred on February 14, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in the arms of his loving wife with his family around him. Born on April 29, 1933 in Parkers Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Stuart "Ted" and Ada (Calhoun) Spencer. Previously employed by Rocky Brook Fishing Camp, Blaine enjoyed woodworking, building things for his loved ones and the singing from family and friends at the Holtville Pentecostal Church. He will be remembered for being an excellent husband, father and grandfather and for his love of hunting, fishing and playing his harmonica. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Shirlene Arseneau (Ron) of Fredericton; one son, Brian Spencer (Ruby) of Hayesville; five grandchildren, Adam Stapledon (Tanya Scott), Michael Stapledon, Michelle Wilson (Andrew), Patti McAllister (Jared) and Denna Spencer; six great grandchildren, Brendan, Christian and Abby Stapledon, Janelle Wilson, Denver and Calee McAllister; three sisters, Betty Black (Hugh) of Miramichi, Gracie Greene of Fredericton, Dixie-Lee Folkins (Lawrence) of Sussex; five brothers, Berton of Astle, Dell (Elizabeth) of Boiestown, Vaughn of Elliott Lake, ON, Terry (Ethel) of Holtville, Leroy (Joyce) of Beaver Dam; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cindy Munn and Jodi Steeves. Cherished husband of the late W. Joy Beckingham (nee Nichols). Much loved father of Terry (Valerie) of the The Pas, MB, and daughter Susan Stewart of London. Dear grandfather of Jennifer (Jason) of The Pas, MB, George B. Beckingham (Frances) of Coquitlam, B.C., great grandfather of Adam, Anne, Jack and Jane. Loved by sisters Mary (Lane) and Luella (Alliston) of Hamilton and sister-in-law Doreen Treitz (nee Nichols) of Sudbury & Audrey Lamb (nee Nichols) of North Bay, nieces, grand nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many other friends and extended family. George was born to George and Philomena (Nielsen) Beckingham of Hamilton , October 23, 1921. He was a member of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders and served his country in war with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After many years as District Manager with the Fuller Brush Company in Winnipeg and Burlington, and known for his meticulous work habits, he was sought after by, and contracted with, many large companies. George was a member of the R.C.L. Br. #501, Lambeth, where he was welcomed and cared for by members and friends. Many thanks to them and a very special tribute to the nurses and staff of the Western Counties Wing, #3rd Floor “Kent” and Dr. D. Cavanaugh for their outstanding care of our Dad. Marie-Rose Dion, originaire de St-Jean-de-la-Croix de Montréal. Elle était la fille de feu Arthur Dion et de feu Florida Guilbault. Elle laisse dans le deuil, outre sa famille religieuse, sa soeur Marie-Jeanne (Julien Bergeron), une belle-soeur Mariette Desjardins (feu Bernard Dion), ses neveux et nièces, autres parents et amis. Elle sera exposée à la Maison mère des Soeurs de Sainte-Anne Pavillon Sainte-Anne 745, avenue Esther-Blondin (18e Av.), Lachine le 17 février 2008 de 15 à 17 h et de 19 à 20 h 30. Il y aura une célébration de prières à 19 h 30 au salon funéraire. Les funérailles auront lieu en la chapelle de la Maison mère le 18 février 2008 à 10 h 15. Ouverture du salon à 9 h.
