CAISSIE, Ernest - At the Milton District Hospital on Sunday, February 3rd 2008. Ernest Caissie formerly of Peterborough, beloved husband of June. Loving father of Theresa (Andre) McKinnon, Jo-Anne (Don) Rehill and Gerry Caissie. Dear brother of Bermond (Lea), Noreen and Ida. Ernest will be missed by his grandchildren Holly, Heather, Kalyn, Jesse, Carly and Tyler and great grandchildren Madison and Taylor. Ernest was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was the First Grand Knight Council 10665 in Innismore and 4th degree with council 798 in Peterborough. Special thanks to Dr. Wong, Gayle Jansen, Nancy and a heartfelt thanks to the great nursing staff of the continuous care unit and all who touched our father's heart at the Milton District Hospital. WOJCIK, Ledda (nee Della Vedova) - February 8th, 1927 - February 4th, 2008 “Life is not forever - Love is“ - In loving memory of Ledda Wojcik who passed away peacefully at home with her loving daughters at her side following a brave battle with cancer. Ledda was predeceased by her dear husband Walter (1996) and will be greatly missed by Janice (husband Carlos) of Caledon and Sandra of Toronto. Fondly remembered by her many friends and relatives including Wanda of Toronto, brother Othello “Gus“ Della Vedova and wife Theresa of Garson and their family. Predeceased by her parents Santina and Ernesto Della Vedova. Ledda was born and lived her life in Garson. She was a devout Roman Catholic and a longtime member of St. John's Parish and the Catholic Women's League. She was also a former employee of Canada Post. PARADIS, James “Jim” - The family announces with deepest sorrow, his sudden death, Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Son of the late Octave and of the late Eugenie (née Couillard) Paradis. Beloved husband of 55 years to Hélène Paradis (née Sabourin) of Sudbury. Loving father of Pierre Paradis (Lauraine) of Georgetown and Denis Paradis (Nicole) of Sudbury. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Oscar, Angeline, Doria, Adolphe, Grace, Edouard and Thomas. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Marc, Sophie, Jérome and Steven. Predeceased by his grandson Ryan. Loving father of Yves Paquette (Gracia) of Azilda, Nola Lacelle (Fernand) of Cornwall, Irène Corbeil (Paul), Gisèle Montgomery (David) and Wendy Taylor (William) all of Sudbury, Ronald Paquette (Colette) of Hanmer and Thérèse Bickers (David) of Toronto. Predeceased in 1957 by his son Gilles. Dear brother of Léona Plante (Lucien), Béatrice Forget (late Martial), Wilfrid Paquette and Alma Paquette all of Hanmer and Clarence Paquette (Adrienne) of Sudbury. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Marie-Jeanne, Ernest (Rolland of Sudbury), Léo (late Thérèse), and Lilianne Lagrandeur (late Alpha). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Michèle, Pierre, Normand, Chantal, Gilles, Mélanie, Robert, Stephen, Kevin, Léo, Emma, Stephanie, Julie and by his 10 great- grandchildren. LOVIL, Myrna Dawn ( nee Babcock) - In loving memory of Myrna Dawn Lovil, nee Babcock, who passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2008 at Lake Jackson,Texas after a short battle with cancer. Myrna was born on January, 22nd, 1940 in Miami Manitoba, cherished daughter of Lorne ( predeceased) and Violet Babcock. Beloved wife of Jim Lovil of Texas, and beloved mother of Kim ( Brousseau) Kalviainen ( Esko). Dear sister of Lynn Latreille ( Jim predeceased), and Lorie Lavallee ( Luc). Loving grandmother of Erik Kalviainen ( Amanie), David Kalviainen ( Tina), and Adam Kalviainen. Myrna will be sadly missed by niece Jenny Latreille and nephew Matt Latreille ( Sara) as well as by many relatives across Canada and friends in Sudbury and Texas. Myrna had a full life, filled with travel in earlier years, and many careers, which included working for Computer Devices of Canada in Ottawa. After moving to Texas 35 years ago she owned two businesses, sold Avon, and soon became a District Manager retiring in 1992. Myrna enjoyed making crafts and one of a kind jewelry. She joined the Art League at Brazosport College and flourished as a painter. She became close friends with her classmates and she volunteered at the Art Gallery where she displayed and sold her jewelry and paintings. Myrna's beautiful paintings adorn the homes of family and friends in Sudbury. Myrna loved being an artist. She also loved her two cats and living in her home on Bastrop Bayou with her husband, and best friend, Jim. A memorial service and celebration of Myrna's life will be held on Friday, February 8th at 3:00 pm at All Nation's Church, 885 Prete Street, Sudbury, with a reception to follow. 10980156

Bill leaves his dear wife of 60 years Jean (Brown) and their children Linda Learn (Wayne), Jim, Dave (Shelley) and Sandra Valeriote (Herm). He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren Chris, Jeff, Jay, Nicole, Alex, Josh and Jessica and 5 great- grandchildren Cole, Brooke, Austin, Jade and Samantha and a brother Jim of Lindsay, Ontario. He was predeceased by his grandson Marty (2000). Bill was employed by and retired from Ontario Hydro. He was also a life-time member of the Fallsview Hose Brigade. He and Jean have been residents of Queenston Place since August 2006. Bill's wishes have been respected and cremation has taken place. HOPKINS, Leona “Babe“ - Passed away at Meadows of Dorchester on Friday February 1, 2008 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Hopkins (1972). Dearly loved mother of Jack (Lydia) Hopkins and Janet (Frank) Zaniol of Niagara Falls. Cherished grandmother of Jacqueline (Dan) Beaton, Fred (Yvonne) Hopkins, Leanne (Scott) Russell, Dean (Leona) Zaniol, Diane (Mike) Avakian, Lynn (Albert) Verzyl and Betty Bannerman and great-grandmother of eleven. Also surviving are several great- nieces, great-nephews and cousins in Canada and the United States. Predeceased by her parents Francis and Mary Wilhelm, her son Harry Hopkins, her brother Leroy Wilhelm and his wife Patricia and her dear friend Ernest Henry. Mrs. Hopkins had been employed for 20 years in the business office at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, retiring in 1978. She was a long time member of St. Thomas More Church in Niagara Falls and St. Joseph's Church in Stevensville. She enjoyed and participated in a lot of functions with St. Joseph's Church while living in Port Colborne until 2001 when she returned to Niagara Falls. She was also a lifetime member of the C.W.L. and was a cribbage team player for a number of years. A private family funeral service was held at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. on Monday February 4th. The Rite of Committal followed at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. CZERWONIAK, Henry - Passed away after a courageous battle on Sunday, February 3rd at the Hotel Dieu-Shaver at the age of 80. Beloved and cherished husband of Olga for 56 years. Henry was a very thoughtful and generous person who was very proud of his family and they were his life. KENYON, V. Marie - Peacefully, after a brief, but courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family, on February 3, 2008 at the age of 55, passed on to be with her father, Earl Pringle, brother, Brian Pringle and her daughter Tammy. Beloved wife of 28 years to Tim Kenyon. Cherished daughter of Lois Pringle and mom of Tina Faragalli, Carol McLean, Sandra (Chris) Kernichan, Sherry (Brian) Jeffs and Jean (Dan) Couture. Marie will be missed by her 16 grandchildren as well as by her brothers Ken (Lorrie), Robert and Bruce, sisters Brenda (Sid) and Bev (Mario). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Newburgh, Ontario, Marie lived most of her life in the Welland area. She was employed with TCG Materials as a dispatcher for some 10 years. Marie was also a personal support worker for the Canadian Red Cross. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 6th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the H. L.
