BOUCHARD, Louis 1909-2007 À Montréal, le jeudi 14 décembre, est décédé Louis Bouchard, éducateur et éditeur à la retraite. Époux de feu Rita Viger, il laisse dans une grande peine ses enfants, Jean-Pierre, Louise, Marie-France, Johanne (Yves Bouliane) et Gaétan; ses petits-enfants, Antoine (Karina Massicotte) et Ève Bouchard-Séguin, Anne-Marie, Etienne et Elise Bouchard-Bouliane; son arrière-petit-fils Anthony Séguin; son frère François (Gisèle Boisvert); ses belles-soeurs, Marthe Gagnon, Adrienne Ouimet et Jacqueline Maranda; son beau-frère Raymond Viger (Huguette Chartrand), plusieurs neveux et nièces, parents et amis. Louis Bouchard a fait carrière dans le domaine de l'éducation; il a été enseignant, directeur d'école, commissaire, membre du comité exécutif, puis vice-président de la CECM (aujourd'hui CSDM). Il a également siégé au Conseil supérieur de l'éducation. Hommes d'idées et de convictions, il fonda en 1965 le périodique Plein Jour qu'il dirigea pendant plus de vingt-cinq ans; il créa également l'Assocation des parents catholiques du Québec (APCQ) dont il fut président de 1966-1971. Il était membre de la Compagnie des Cent- Associés francophones. Jusqu'à ses derniers jours, il n'a cessé d'exprimer son attachement aux siens, son amour de la vie et sa confiance en l'être humain "merveille et mystère". La famille recevra les condoléances le mercredi 19 décembre de 17 à 22 heures et jeudi dès 8 h 30, au salon: Service de voiturier disponible Les funérailles seront célébrées le jeudi 20 décembre à 11 heures, en l'église Ste-Cécile, angle de Castelnau et Henri-Julien. RYAN, Hazel Ellen - Peacefully, on Saturday, December 15th, 2007, in Jacksonville, Florida in her 85th year. Born in Peterborough on September 7th, 1922, daughter of the late Albert J. Ryan and Mary Ann Lynch. She was a former employee at CGE for 15 years before moving to Florida in 1957. She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Joseph, Ed and Dan and three sisters, Mary Ryan and Alberta O'Connor of Florida and Margaret Roque of Killarney, ON. She is survived by her sister Teresa (Terry) Glassford and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially Colleen O'Connor of Jacksonville, Florida. FANCOURT, Diana Marie August 21, 1954 - December 16, 2007 Diana Marie Fancourt, beloved wife of Dale Fancourt of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the age of 53 years. Diana was a very generous, determined, strong-willed person who enjoyed working with people, especially the elderly, and she always put others before herself. Besides her loving husband Dale, Diana is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laila and Robert Gutzmann of Cedar Rapids, IA; her sons and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Jennifer Fulton and Joel Fulton, all of Calgary, AB; and by her grandson Nathan Gutzmann. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Judy and Mark Weiberg, and Michele Wood; and by her brother Wayne Wood. Diana was predeceased by parents Lucia and Jack Wood. McGREGOR, Geraldine A. March 30, 1918 - December 14, 2007 Geraldine McGregor of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Agape Hospice, less than four months from her 90th birthday. Gerry and her husband Don, both originally from Regina, became permanent residents of Calgary in 1949, except for their winter escapes to their residence in Maui. Gerry will be fondly remembered by her friends in the Dorcas Group of Grace Presbyterian Church as well as by her many bridge club partners. ULICKI, Eileen (nee Dillon) March 10, 1920 - December 15, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the recent passing of our Mother and Grandmother, Eileen Anne Ulicki, at the age of 87 years, at Foothills Hospital, Calgary on December 15, 2007. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Tony, in 2003. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Maurice, Ted, William and Dorothy. Eileen is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Pat of Abbotsford, and her sons Glenn (Diane), and Jim (Cathy) and her special grandchildren Mark and Sean, all of Calgary. Eileen was born and raised in Calabogie, Ontario and, following her wartime service with the Royal Canadian Navy, married Tony in 1945 in Ottawa and settled in Winnipeg for most of their lives. Eileen was active in the Winnipeg community during her years, and Eileen and Tony both had a passion for travel around the world. She will be sadly missed by us all. Her health and happiness remained strong until December 1, 2007 when she was admitted to hospital. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Colonel Belcher Care Home. McCANN, GERALD GERRY - Of Welland, at Buffalo, N.Y., on Friday, December 14, 2007, in his 75th year. Devoted brother of Teresa Stevens of Welland. Predeceased by parents Michael & Mary McCann, his brother Raymond McCann and nephew Ken Stecjuk. Born in Welland, Mr. McCann remained a life long resident of the city. He was employed, as an engineer, for 38 years with Atlas Specialty Steels, retiring in 1988. Mr. McCann was a very involved member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, where he looked after the mechanical items, namely the boiler and air conditioning, as well as the day to day background operation of the church. He was currently president of the Legion of Mary on which he faithfully served for many years. Friends are invited to visit the family on Tuesday, December 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the H. L. CAMERON, Alan M. - At Cassellholme on Sunday December 16, 2007 in his 89th year. Dear husband of the late Merle Cameron (Virtue) for 56 years. Loving father of A. David Cameron (Margaret Reid) of North Bay, Shirley Malet de Carteret (Reginald) of Vancouver Island and Barbara Jarus (Wayne) of Mississauga. Sadly missed by grandchildren Scott Cameron, Owen Jarus and Kevin Jarus. Alan graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Serving in WWII, he saw action in the North Atlantic and the English Channel as a Lieutenant on the frigate Nene. He spent most of his working life with INCO at Sudbury and Thompson, Manitoba. Always the handy person, Alan enjoyed his cottages and boats and all the odd jobs and repairs that go along with them. He also enjoyed music and performing with his harmonica at the Empire Living Centre and Cassellholme. At Alan's request there will be no visitation or service. OBITUARY HAZEL BARLOW Hazel Barlow died at home on Monday, December 17, 2007. Daughter of the late Herbert Barlow and the late Annie Kelly. She is predeceased by a brother John Barlow and survived by a brother David Barlow. Hazel Barlow will be missed by colleagues in Montreal who knew her as a dedicated nurse, caring teacher and devoted friend. She was proud of her long association with St. Mary's Hospital and staff. PALMER, Frank Alfred - It is with deep sadness that the family of Frank Palmer, age 96 years of Skead Road, announces his passing on Monday, December 17th, 2007. Frank will always be remembered for his long days of hard work and his passion for his garden and hunting every fall with his good friends. He had in the last few years shared many stories of his life on the farm in Warren as a young boy with his twin brother Tom, cutting and harvesting trees then skidding them to the road with horses to help build Highway 17 at Sturgeon Falls. He also liked to tell the story of the town wedding in Markstay when he and his brother Tom married the McNamara girls in 1934. Frank was predeceased by his wife Nellie, his son Pat and daughter Irene, his brothers Joe, Tom and sisters Nell, Gwen and Annie. He will be lovingly remembered by his family Helen (Cecil) of Bellville, Fran (Frank predeceased) of Garson, Terry (Gloria) of Oshawa, Gary (Gail) of Rosseau, Michael (Joanne) of Garson, Linda (Doug) of Terrace Bay, Mary (Mark) of Sudbury. His great sense of humour will be missed by all his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. In keeping with Frank's wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will take place this spring.
