RANAGHAN, Richard (Dick) 1931 - 2007 Richard (Dick) James Ranaghan left us to be with the Lord on December 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He leaves his beloved family Jean, Peter, Andrea, Jaelyn and Maureen as well as relatives in the United States and Ireland. Dick was a member of the F.G.B.M.F.I. (Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship International) and participated in several world outreaches as well as fulfilling a boyhood dream to travel the world extensively. Dick retired after a successful career as an insurance broker of forty years and his beloved son Peter has also pursued the insurance business, carrying on the family tradition going back to 1931. He supported and enjoyed music, opera and other cultural activities as well as being an avid outdoorsman. INAMASU, Mary Helen July 17, 1908 - December 12, 2007 Mary Helen Inamasu of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the age of 99 years. Mary was born on July 17, 1908 in Calgary, the oldest of eight children born to Masae and Kemo Inamasu. She was the secretary-treasurer for the Calgary Separate School Board for thirty-five years. Mary retired for a short while then began working for Marshall and Dunlevy Printers for another fifteen years. She maintained and enjoyed an active lifestyle in her later years. Mary enjoyed travelling immensely, especially her trips with Albert to Las Vegas. Besides her loving brother, Albert, Mary is also survived by her niece Marian (Ronald) Heisey and their family Dawn (Joe) Bracket; Brent (Kelli) Heisey and their daughter Emma; Helen O'Brien's family Maile (Ron) Hunt and their children Hailey and Brandon; Margaret Faust and Michael O'Brien. Mary is also survived her sister-in-law Sue Inamasu and her family Gary (Sandra) Inamasu and their daughter Katarina and Kevin (Dana) Inamasu. Mary was predeceased by her siblings Jim, Pat, George, Harry and Cecile Inamasu, Margaret Tanouye and a niece Helen O'Brien. KNIGHT, Gary Norman William Gary Norman William Knight, age 69, passed away, surrounded by his family and friends on December 10, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was born in Winnipeg, MB on July 30, 1938 and grew up in Winnipeg, Lethbridge and Calgary. He joined the Naval Reserve at a young age, and saw half the world before he was twenty. Gary attended Western Canada High School and the Alberta College of Art and Design. He enjoyed a successful career in the graphic arts field and was the Art Director at Nova Corp, until he retired in 1995. Gary is survived by his loving wife of fourteen years, Phyllis, as well as his sons, Ian and Kirk, and granddaughter Connie. MANSON, Doris Isabelle October 10, 1915 - December 7, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Doris was born in Oxbow, SK and married George in 1934. In 1936 she embarked on railway adventures that lead her to many places including Coronation, Red Deer and Penticton. She taught piano to many people and played with the Minnedosa Orchestra. Doris was also a lifetime member of the Royal Purple. She will be forever cherished and remembered by everyone whose life was touched by her. Doris is survived by her daughter Deanna Ohlhauser of Carbon, AB; granddaughter Barb (Kevin); great-granddaughters Megan and Sarah; grandsons Dale, Dave (Aleksandra), Rick, Barry, Tim (Kary); and great-grandsons, Jacob, Michael, Dallas and Cameron. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1991, her son Douglas in 2002 and her son-in-law Archie in 2007. REVER, Diane Georgina (Kowalchuk) July 18, 1946 - December 13, 2007 On December 13, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Diane Rever, beloved wife of Joseph Rever, passed away at home with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of forty years, Joe; their two daughters Sandra and Karen; her father, Gordon Kowalchuk; three sisters, Carol Kemp (Clay), Linda Solomon (Clancy), Teresa Peterson (Kyle); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Violet and John Lambie; nephews John, David, Scott, Bayn and Keenan; and niece Kristi. She was predeceased by her mother, Maimie. Born in Dauphin, MB, Diane was raised in a loving family with a rich Ukrainian culture. She met and married the love of her life, Joe, in 1967, and moved to Calgary to raise her family and continue her career. She taught elementary school for twenty-three years, until her retirement in 2002. She will be deeply missed for her zest for life, compassion towards others, and love of family and friends. In 1939 Guy enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (RCOC) and over the next twenty-six years served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Far East. He then worked for thirteen years as the Vice President - Administration at Olds College. Guy leaves to remember him, Grace, his wife of sixty-one years, son Bill and his wife Kathy, and grandchildren Eric, Megan and Jessica. Memorial Services were held at the Olds United Church on December 8, 2007, with Burial to follow at a later date. Guy's family wish to thank the staff at Long Term Care in Olds, Drs. Aubrey's greatest pleasure was to play Duplicate Bridge 2 to 3 times a week. He loved not only gardening, but also to watch his garden grow. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70 in Iroquois Falls as well as the Knights of Columbus Timmins Council 2403. From 1953 - 1956 he served in the Queens Own Rifles and served in Korea in 1954. Where he was also a Bren Gun Operator. Aubrey was involved in the Cursillo movement and from 1980 - 1995 the Engaged Encounter. He served on the Cemetery Board, the Museum Board and the Connaught Community Hall. PERRYMAN, Eric Charles William - Eric, an amazing friend, husband, father, tenor, tennis player, metallurgist, sailor, and spirit seeker, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, after 85 years of abundant living. Born in England in 1922, Eric came to Canada in 1951 with his lifelong companion, Win, a young family, a degree from Cambridge, and a zest for adventure. His contributions to this country were many, as scientist, manager, volunteer, and elder. LUST, Kathleen Emily We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Kathleen Lust. Kathleen passed away at the Strathmore Hospital in the early morning hours of December 12, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Kathleen was born in Elnora, Alberta on May 18, 1924. She later migrated to Calgary where she met and married her soulmate, Arthur B. Lust on August 15, 1944. Kathleen and Arthur resided in Bowness where they raised six children. Kathleen possessed a kind and generous heart, and was a foster mother to many children throughout the years. She was a recipient of Calgary's Mother of the Year award, and touched the lives of all who knew her. Upon meeting her, people were instantly captivated by her feisty spirit and sense of humor. She will forever be remembered for her strength, determination and love for life. Kathleen was truly one of a kind. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Hank) Gerritsen of Calgary, Patricia (Carlos) Del Carpio of Calgary, Susan (Joe) Sartore of Conrich, Deborah (Claude) Solda of Strathmore, and Cheryl (Kim) Klippert of Mayo, Yukon; one son, Arthur Miles (Roxy) Lust; as well as fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Pauline (Jack) Barker of Calgary, and her brother Vincent Dawson of Chase, B.C. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1984. Francoise Guindon Passed away on / Décédé(e) le December 8, 2007 We regret to announce the death of Francoise Guindon on Saturday, December 8 at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 77. She is survived by her husband, Antonio, eight children, Raymond (Marie), Florent, Benoit, Armand, Luc (Chris), Roch (Angela), Nicole Fortier (Noel) and Lise Arsenault (Raymond) all of Kapuskasing, one sister, Marie Nobert of Kapuskasing as well as eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Denis and two grandchildren, Daniel and Lina. Funeral service was held on Friday, December 14 at Immaculée-Conception church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Evelyn Eulah Thib On December 4, 2007 Evelyn Eulah Thib of Englehart died at the Englehart and District Hospital. She was born in Marter Township on October 30, 1912 to William and Lena Remus. Educated in Englehart and Marter Township, she married Frank Thib at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in 1931. Mrs. Thib, a homemaker, was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1974 and by her son Ray. She is survived by her daughter Colleen Gibbins; grandchildren Loree Newman (Gibbins), Robert, Ken and Stuart Gibbins, Dwight Thib, Darlene Shantz (Thib) and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart with the service conducted by Reverend Janice Hamalainen at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on December 7. Pallbearers were Dwight Thib, Robert and Stuart Gibbins, Mervin Remus, Mike Shantz and Ron Gibbins. Honourary pallbearers were Bud Colquhoun, J. Armstrong and Harvey Middaugh. The family thanked the staff of the Englehart and District Hospital and all their friends and relatives for their support, it was much appreciated. In memory contributions to the Englehart and District Hospital would be appreciated by family.

COON, Jean Shirley (Secord) – Peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday December 13, 2007 in her 86th year. Loving wife of Clayton Coon for 60 years. Beloved mother of Robert Coon and the late Karen. She was predeceased by her dear sister Orial Christie. Jean was a very active member of St. George's Church, Homer for her entire lifetime and was a recipient of the Order of Niagara from the Anglican Diocese of Niagara. She was also very involved with the St. Davids Lions Club for over 35 years and held the position of Treasurer and is a Past-President. She also volunteered time at Upper Canada Lodge. LAROCQUE, Reginald "Reg" Robert Reg passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the age of 59 years. Reg is lovingly remembered by his wife Roberta and daughter Laura. He is also survived by his siblings Jimmy, Lynn, Cookie, Dale, Donny, Terry and Heather; aunts, uncles and cousins from the Ottawa Valley. Reg was predeceased by his grandparents Laura and Willard; mother Martha and birth father Rex Taylor. Reg will be greatly missed by the wrestlers he dedicated his life to coaching over the past twenty-eight years. Reg was known as "coach" to many, "Reggie" to others, but to most, simply "Reg". His passion for the sport of amateur wrestling started as a high school student under the leadership of Norm Sakamoto. He went on to be mentored by Gord Garvie and Victor Zilberman when he joined the Lakehead University Wrestling team while pursuing his B.Ph (Hon) and B.A. in English. In 1979 he made the switch from student to teacher and went on to coach at the University of Manitoba, University of Calgary and Mount Allison University before starting his own "Rebels Wrestling Club" of which he was so proud. Many a tournament has found Reg in the corner of many a wrestler. His raised eyebrows, booming voice and "ya ya" were trademarks of his craft along with his knowledge, integrity and intuitiveness. He was recently honoured for his contribution to the sport of wrestling by being inducted into the Builder's Section of the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association Hall of Fame. He made many lifelong friendships, touched many lives and will be dearly missed. His wife and daughter would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the O.R. and Unit 52 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital and the staff and nurses at Chinook Hospice for everything.
