Dennis Charles Sedgbeer God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He closed His arms around you, And He whispered Come to Me. You do not deserve what you went through, And so He gave you rest, God's garden must be beautiful, For He only takes the best. In time we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. SEDGBEER, Dennis Charles - At the age of 77, Dennis died peacefully following a brave battle with cancer, with family by his side at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, on Saturday, December 1, 2007, two days before his 78th birthday. Beloved husband of Pat Sedgbeer. Predeceased by his late wife Pamela Sedgbeer in 1988. Loving father of Jenny (Bob), Corunna, Gary (Sandra), Quebec, and Stephen, Calgary; and step-father of the MacDonald family, Rick (Cathy), Oakville, Mick (Debbie) and Mark, Sarnia, and Janice (Ed), NS. Beloved grandfather of Jacqueline, Jason, Jenny and Nina, Brandon, Kyle, Jamie, and Colin. He will be missed by his best friend Zack who he faithfully walked everyday before his sickness. Dennis leaves behind many more in-law relatives and friends, some from England, Australia, and Florida. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again. Dennis was a comedic actor with Sarnia Little Theatre from 1976- 1986. He also had a stint with the Royal Corps of Engineers in England. Dennis was a soccer coach for many years. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 6:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Len Desjardins at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, December 5th at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. WHITE, Gordon W. - Suddenly at his home on Sunday December 2, 2007, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (1994). Loving father of Darlene Blue and her husband Jerry, Brian White and his wife Pat and Brenda White. He was also loved by his four grandchildren; Stephanie, Stevie, Tiffany and Colin. Gordon is the dear brother of Audrey Branton (the late Philip), Eleanor Thomson (Clare) and brother-in-law of Lois White. He is predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Grace White and by siblings John White (the late Isabel) and Albert White. He will be fondly remembered by his many neices, nephews, extended family members and friends. Gordon retired after 30 years of service with Gates Canada in 1993. BREWER, RONALD EVERETT The passing of Ronald Everett Brewer, husband of Iona (Wilson) Brewer, of Burtts Corner, NB, occurred on November 30, 2007 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born on May 31, 1914 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was a son of the late Nettie Maude Brewer. Ronald was an avid sports fan. He was a past member of the Burtts Corner Brass Band. Besides his wife, he is survived by sister-in-law, Queenie Brewer of Burtt's Corner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by three brothers, Arlus (and his wife Annie), Arwood and Kenneth. There will be no visitation by request. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 2 pm with Rev. WHITE, LEONARD WILLIAM The passing of Leonard William White of Keswick, N.B, husband of June (Holmes) (Randall) White, occurred on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 20, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Lena (Randall) White. Leonard was self employed with a construction business in Keswick. Leonard enjoyed farming, attending horse hauls and trips to the Brookside Mall to meet with friends. Besides his wife, Leonard is survived by three daughters, Jane (George) Dean of Fredericton, N.B, Laurie (Errol) James of Fort McMurray, AB, Susan (Timothy) Booker of Burtts Corner, NB; seven grandchildren, Angeline (Patrick) Rutter, Alexia Dean (James Seymour), Avery Dean, Jessica James, Devon James, Amy (Joey) Whalen, Lacey Booker (Paul Collier); two great grandchildren, Nolan Rutter, Jayden James; one brother, Kenneth Whyte (Gail) of PEI; one sister, Lorraine Home and the late Stuart of Burtts Corner, NB; two step daughters, Barbara Randall of Amherst, NS, Marilyn (Alden) Brewer of Fredericton, NB; three step grandchildren, Robin Brewer (Rachel Morehouse), Jason Brewer (Marjorie Barker), Justin Brewer (Kayla Hunt); two step great grandchildren, Rachel and Katelyn Brewer; many nieces and nephews. CHISHOLM, CATHERINE MAY "KIT"- Catherine May "Kit" Chisholm, 95, died on Saturday, December 1, 2007, peacefully in her sleep, at the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, where she had been a resident since 1995. Catherine was born on May 17, 1912, at Frasers Mills, Antigonish County, the eldest child of Malcolm W. and Jessie Ann (MacDonald) Sinclair. She was educated at the Frasers Mills School and after completing Grade 11 at Mount St. Bernard College, Antigonish, she attended the Nova Scotia Normal School. From 1928 to 1942 she taught at a number of one-room schools in Antigonish County, including Glen Alpine, Lochaber, Frasers Mills and Glassburn. On July 14, 1941, she married Angus J. Chisholm who passed away on January 16, 2001, in the 60th year of their marriage. The family lived at Glassburn before moving to Antigonish in the 1950's. Catherine is survived by her children, Paschal G. (Mary T. Hansen), Saint John, NB, Malcolm J. (Heather Kirkwood), Iqaluit, NU, and Edmonton, AB, and Jessie M. (Claude Quigley), St. John's, NL; one sister, Rita Sinclair, Salmon Arm, BC; eight grandchildren, Eric Chisholm, Victoria, BC, Beth Chisholm, Edmonton, AB, Colleen Quigley (Marijn Companjen), St. John's, NL, Ryan Quigley (Erin Benoit), Kelowna, BC, Tara (Jerome Dick), Saint John, NB, Tonya (Peter Crowhurst) Fredericton, NB, Rochelle Chisholm (Adam Fletcher), Halifax, and Gregor Chisholm, Toronto; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Matina, MacLaren, Spencer and Cassius; sisters-in-law, Margaret Chisholm, Antigonish, and Eileen Sinclair, Watertown, MA; and several nieces and nephews. WATSON, Ernest Eric 85, of Halifax passed away quietly December 2, 2007 at Northwood Centre following a long struggle with various ailments. He was born in Scotch Village, NS on November 29, 1922. He was predeceased by his loving wife of just over 50 years, Mae Gertrude Watson (MacDonnell) who passed away February 20, 1999. He is survived by his five children and their families, Debbie (Gary Palmer), Mike, Pat (Wenda Sheffer), Darlene (Pete Laroche) and Richard (Kristina Stallabrass), and 4 grandchildren Shawn, Jennifer, Alex L and Alex B. Ernie loved life, particularly during his 50 year marriage. He completed two careers, first in the Royal Canadian Navy for 22 years achieving the rank of CP01, he served in the Second World War and Korea and was highly decorated. On retirement, he transferred to Canada Customs where he achieved the position of National Dominion Appraiser. He and Mae lived in Dartmouth, Ottawa and Niagara Falls, and spent some of their retirement winters in Florida. Ernie was a brave, bold and benevolent man and was best known for his sense of humor and story telling abilities. Visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Tuesday December 4, 2007 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St. Dartmouth. A private memorial service and interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. In memory of Ernie, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated.
