WASHINGTON, Johnny James Thomas Edwin - December 11, 1960 - November 12, 2007 - It is with deep, deep sadness and yet love and peace that we announce the passing of the most beautiful man on earth, who went to be with our loving Lord and his loving parents, Tommy Washington (November 11, 1925 - July 2, 1996) and Hazel (Hodginson) Washington (August 24, 1924-January 7, 1998), on Monday, November 12, 2007. Johnny Washington (Wish Wash) was a Niagara Falls native and sports hero. He attended both NFCVI and Stamford High, during which time he was a top athlete in all sports with an extra love for basketball. Johnny earned a basketball scholarship but was prevented from carrying it out due to a severe car accident, resulting in his having to give up any contact sports. He remained an athlete and made his work his work out - forever training, always fit. Johnny loved to laugh and his credo was Keep it Simple. Johnny will never leave the heart of his loving mate, the love of his life and he of hers, Dawna Bacon (St. Catharines) and her entire family, as Johnny was part of us. He is also survived by his daughter Keysha Jesso (Newfoundland), sister Nancy Carley (Fred), Welland, niece Lisa Carley (Chad), Niagara Falls, and a large and loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, including Wes Washington and Tracy Walker and friends, lots of friends. Johnny leaves behind his love and laughter, the peace that his loving soul provides and will always provide to enclose me in the big, strong hug he always had for me. We love him and we will miss him. MULOIN, William Henry (1925-2007) - of Qualicum Beach, B.C. on November 12, 2007. He was born in Schreiber, Ontario and grew up in the Thunder Bay area of Ontario. He served at sea in The Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WWII. On returning home he completed his high schooling in Port Arthur, Ontario and then graduated in 1951 from Queen's University at Kingston with a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering. He spent all of his professional life in the mining industry. He worked 10 years with Noranda Mines at Waite Amulet Mines in Noranda, QC and Gaspe Copper Mines in Murdockville, QC. He joined Pickands-Mather & Co. at the Hilton Mines, Shawville QC in 1961. He was transferred to Tasmania, Australia as General Manager of Savage River Mines in 1968 and returned to Canada in 1971 to Wasbush Mines and served as General Manager, located in Sept-Isles, QC until his retirement in 1991. He was a life member of the C.I.M.M. and a member of the S.M.E. He is survived by three children, William, Kathleen and Peter all of Montreal. He was pre-deceased by son Joseph and daughter Shannon. Also survived by brother Darcy of French Creek, BC. He will be missed by his eight grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Thomas Jay, Zachary, Rachelle, Matthew, Xavier and Meghan, all of Montreal. After a long and courageous battle with Cancer, Reg went to be with his Lord. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by his family: his wife, of 67 years, Katherine (Kay) Ferguson, his daughters Dianne Grant (Ron), Arlene Ruoff (Hans), and Charles (Chuck) Eldridge (Georgina). STEPHENS, Brynley 1921 - 2007 Passed away peacefully November 10th, 2007 at Crossroads Hospice, Port Moody, BC. Bryn was born on the Ides of March, 1921 in Caerphilly, South Wales. The family immigrated to Canada in 1929 and settled in Regina, Saskatchewan. Bryn joined the Regina Rifles as a bandsman in 1937 and then in 1940 signed up for active Service. While serving in England, he met the love of his life, Iris Pamela and they were married on May 24, 1944. He retired from the Armed Forces in 1967 in Gatineau, Quebec, and moved to BC in 1988. He expressed his love for his family through his grandchildren. He spent countless hours supporting them at every one of their softball, volleyball, baseball and soccer games. Summers were spent with Iris and their other grandchildren at their cottage north of Ottawa, swimming, boating. He is survived by his loving wife, Iris, daughter Joy (spouse Mike) and son David; 4 grandchildren, Cheryl (Cris), Grant, Marie Angelique & Genevieve Marie; step-grandchildren Richard (Guylaine) and Karen; 4 great grandchildren, Lucas, Jessie, Ethan and Sage; siblings, Millicent; Selwyn & Godfrey; many nieces & nephews, extended family & friends; predeceased by brothers Jim & Ray; daughter Mary Ann. Sorely missed will be his generosity, his sense of humour, his daily e-mails, but most of all his love of cooking, no one ever left his table hungry. GRIBBEN, Donald Albert - Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Don was called home by his God on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at the Brantford General Hospital. Don was born December 9, 1923 in East Oakland. Devoted and loving husband for 60 years to Dorothy (nee Armour). Proud father of Jane and Jim Schmidt, Debbie and Dean Opersko, Dianne and Dave Russell, and David Gribben. Cherished grandfather of Terry and Joyce, Tricia, Devin, Dayna, Geoffrey, Gabrielle and Jennifer. Loving great grandfather to Thomas, Amy, Troy, and Leah. Much loved brother and brother-in-law to Bernice Myerscough, Jean and Kurt DeGraaf, and Marguerite Neziol. Don is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Don was an active member and elder of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church and a member of the Scotland Masonic Lodge #193 and the Scottish Rite. He was a proud farmer for over 40 years. In 1984 he started Gribben Farm Supply and was an active owner right up to his final days. MONTGOMERY, Betty Jean - Passed away peacefully at C.K.H.A. Public General Campus while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Born in Chatham 81 years ago, daughter of the late Stanley Garrod and Ethel Cable. Resided at Thamesview Lodge and recently Riverview Gardens. Surviving are sons Scott and wife Vera, Brian and wife Cyndy, daughter Sandra and husband Terry Shadd. Proud grandmother of Courtney and Jason Nadeau, Kim and Britton Corcoran, Brian Jr. and Kasidee. Also survived by brother and sister in law Grant and Islaine Montgomery of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by sister Doris Male (2005). Betty was a former member of Chatham T.O.P.S. and regularly attended at St. Paul's Congregational Church. Special thanks to all the volunteers from RVG and Geranium House who sat with Mom and provided support and prayer. Charles “Chickie” "Mighty World Wind" Francis Patrick December 18, 1952 - November 13, 2007 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of our most beloved Husband, Dad, PaPa, Brother and Uncle, Charles “Chickie” Patrick. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Beverly Ann Patrick. Charles leaves to mourn, his son Leonard (Nola) and his daughter Cheyenne; step-children John (Amy), Steve (Gilea) and Tina; grandchildren, Seth, Jesiaha, Theo Moose, Louie, Tyrone, Kody, Hannah and his special baby girl Crystal-Marie; as well as his brother Lawrence Guimond; his sisters Violet, Meg (Tony), Rita, Marg (Danny), Margaret (Basil) and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his parents Boniface and Elizabeth; Brothers Clem, Sonny, Wayne; sister Viola; brother in-law Henry, Wally, Doug, Charlie, Pop and Jaques. Chickie was very traditional in the Native culture, every chance he got he was at Pow-Wows. His colours were black, white and blue. He was a singer with “The White Eagle Singers”. Chickie also enjoyed jumping in his car and not knowing where the ride would take home that day, that’s just how Chickie was. He also enjoyed reading just about anything there was to read. His computer was another passion of his and most of all his grandchildren. Prayers will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Prairieland Aboriginal Funeral Home, 1020 Main Street (at Manitoba Avenue). Wake services will be held on Thursday, evening starting at 4:00 p.m. and continuing Friday, November 15 and 16, 2007 at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church in Sagkeeng (Fort Alexander).
