BOON, Herbert "Herb" Herbert "Herb" Boon passed away peacefully in Calgary on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the age of 93 years. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Carolyn and his son-in-law Mike Kushner and Mike's sons: Greg (Janet) and great-granddaughters Tamsyn and Maya of Vancouver and Jeff (Jennifer) of Calgary. He will also be remembered by his sister Evelyn Milton of Kelowna, as well as by his nieces and nephews. Herb was predeceased by his wife Vera in 1953. At Herb's request no formal Funeral Service will be held. A family Interment will take place at a later date at Queen's Park Cemetery. CRAIGMILE, (Rita) Marguerita Louisa November 1, 1923 - November 1, 2007 Rita Craigmile passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Foothills Hospital on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the age of 84. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her children, Madelyn (Bill), Terry (Cathy), Sandra (Gord) and Murray (Dorothy); siblings Harry (Sybil), Alice (Lloyd) and Donald (Marlene); grandchildren Yvonne, Julie, Stephen, Jeremy, Levi, James, Logan, Michael and Ian; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. GILLANDERS, Gloria Bernice (Willocks) 1941 - 2007 Gloria passed away on November 2, 2007 at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary. She is survived by her husband David; mother Kay Willocks of High River; son Dr. Ken (Lisa) Gillanders of Clovis, California; four grandchildren; brother Brian (Wendy) Willocks of Calgary; sisters-in-law Leslie Willocks of Calgary, Gail Thompson of Arrowwood as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her father Bill Willocks and son Andy. Gloria was born to her parents Bill and Kay Willocks on July 28, 1941 in High River. She lived on farms at Gladys and Dinton until she married David in 1960. They lived and worked in Gleichen and returned to farming at Dinton in 1964. After retiring to High River in February 1988, she enjoyed winter vacations and the Arizona sun. McKERVEY, Anne Julia 1932 - 2007 With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Anne Julia McKervey (Fillinger) on November 1, 2007 from cancer. Anne was born July 22, 1932 to Stephan and Victoria Fillinger of Bashaw, Alberta. The family resided in the Bashaw area until Anne was nine years old, when they lived for one and a half years in Nordegg and finally settled in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Anne married Arthur McKervey of Rocky Mountain House in 1950. Arthur and Anne raised their family in Calgary, Alberta. Arthur passed away in 1996 after forty-six years of marriage. Anne was the mother of fifteen children, grandmother of one hundred nine children, and great-grandmother of twenty-three children. She was the essence of practicality, an inspiring example of motherhood, and a renowned cook. Anne will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Catherine (Gene) Land, Martin (Deirdre) McKervey, Joseph (Debbie) McKervey, Marie (Ken) May, Patrick (Kathy) McKervey, Mark (Carol) McKervey, Bernadette (Stephen) Tobler, Anthony (Louise) McKervey, Jesintha (Doug) Kondra, Cecilia (Jean) Beauregard, Monica (Craig) Langlois, Teresa (Paul) Whyburd, Veronica McKervey, Vincent McKervey, and Victoria (Scott) Brettelle; also her sister Mary; brother Victor (Erica) Fillinger; sisters-in-law Dallas Fillinger, Anna Fillinger, Irene Watson, and Margaret (Ralph) Imbery; brother-in-law Joseph (Carol) McKervey; one aunt Ethel Metro; one hundred eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. OBITUARY CHRISTINA ANNE MACLEOD PARKER Born in 1920, in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, died peacefully at home in Knowlton on October 29, 2007, following a difficult challenge with cancer; a great loss to Leonard, her husband of sixty-three years, and their daughter, Sheana (Tom Carter). She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Eleanor and Jeremy, their father Andrew Louson (Linda Martin), and family and friends in Canada, Scotland and England. Chris had a long career in nursing, eventually becoming assistant matron of the South Manchester University Hospital. A productive life, lived with courage, wisdom, charm and grace. STENASON, Letty Trant (nee Watson). At the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, following a long battle with emphysema. Letty was born in Calgary, AB on August 11, 1930 to David and Mae Watson. She was predeceased by her husband Walter John Stenason, as well as her brother Ian and her sisters Alice and Margaret. Survived by her three sons, David (Cheryl), Robert and William (Lisa); five grandchildren, Thomas, Suzanne, David, Lauren and Lindsay. Letty was educated at Victoria College and McGill University, and worked diligently as a nurse in both BC and Massachusetts prior to raising a family. A long time resident of Montreal and Calgary, Letty greatly enjoyed her retirement years in Victoria. Family and friends will celebrate Letty's life at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007. ZEUCHNER, AUDREY M. - The death of Audrey Zeuchner, of Pine Street, Saint John, wife of Horst Zeuchner, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances White. Audrey was a life long resident of Saint John and was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Richard (Shelly) and Stephen Zeuchner, both of Saint John; three grandchildren, Christopher, Fallen and Fawn; and several nieces and nephews. BASTARACHE, CECILA MARY - The death of Cecila Bastarache (Roy-King) of Campobello Lodge Nursing Home, Welshpool, N.B., wife of the late Maxime Bastarache, formerly of Saint John, N.B., occurred on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. Born in Minto, N.B. on May 24, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Amedee and Judith (Maillet) King. Cecila resided in Saint John for most of her life and lived in Gardiner, MA, USA for a short time. She was a member of St. Peter's Parish Church in Saint John and was employed at many jobs, loved to work hard, travel and had a strong spirit for life. Survived by her son, Larry, with whom she lived in Saint John; her daughter Carol (Bruce) Mierzejewski of Gardiner MA; one brother, Emile of Ontario; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Reginald (Reg) A. Trites Reginald (Reg) A. Trites, 85, of The Veterans Health Center, Moncton with his family at his side passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, November 2, 2007 following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Lester and Gertrude (Dodd) Trites. Reg was retired from The Moncton Police Department (1986) with 36 years service. David L.G. MacLean 1917-2007 MIRAMICHI - David Lloyd George MacLean, of Henderson Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the age of 90. Born in Napan, on March 15, 1917, he was the son of the late Freeman and Helena (Galloway) MacLean. He was a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, working in the heating plant at the former CFB Chatham. He was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Miramichi; a former church elder; a former member of the "Omgea" league of the Chatham Curling Club. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Regina Riflemen Reg'd, "A" Company and a member of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi. David was known for his unconditional love to all who knew him. Every one enjoyed his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He loved fishing and hunting with his wife and friends and during the winter months, curling was his favorite pastime. His greatest sense of joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always eager to hear of their lives and so enjoyed their visits. He was even a greater joy to them. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Thorburn (Fred), of Riverview and Trena Arnoldus (Jack), of Lower Coverdale; one son, Paul MacLean (Marjorie), of Miramichi; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes MacCallum, of Edmonton, Alberta; as well as, several nieces and nephews; as well as his special caregivers, Dorothy Dorion and Debbie Conroy. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edith Florence Manderson, in 1994; two sisters, Jean MacLean and Roberta Muncey. LeBLANC, Alma Marie Losier - Born January 13, 1919. - It is with great pain and sorrow that daughter Shirley Gail Caughill, her spouse Allen and Alma's son Gary LeBlanc, his spouse Doris Goosney announce the passing of their beloved and cherished mother in Tavistock, Ontario on October 28, 2007 in her 88th year. John Chartier of Cobalt died suddenly at the age of 53 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital on October 4, 2007 following a battle with cancer. He was born in Haileybury on November 8, 1953 and had worked for Texas Gulf as an assayer. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Mr. Chartier was predeceased by his father Leo Chartier and his sister Diane Chartier. Leslie Stuart Carleton, of RR#1 Hilliardton, died October 9, 2007 at the Temiskaming Hospital. He was born in Hilliardton on August 28 1938 to Cecil and Kathleen (nee Quigley) Carleton. Educated at Brethour Township School, he worked as a roads superintendent and a school bus owner/operator for 32 years. Mr. Carleton loved sports, such as hockey and baseball, as well hunting, fishing and farming. He is survived by his wife Lillian, whom he married in Thornloe December 22, 1956, son Ronald Carleton and daughters Ann Setterington and Gail Carleton. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel with the service conducted by Paul Douglas and Lynn Carleton. Edna Mary Terpstra (Robinson) On October 11, 2007 Edna Mary Terpstra died at the Temiskaming Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Connock, England on January 29, 1923 to Ernest and Annie Robinson. Educated in England, she moved to Canada in 1948 and worked as a lab technician at Warner Lambert Research in Oakville. Mrs. Terpstra, a member of the Anglican Church of Canada, moved from Oakville to Earlton in 1989 and lived for seven years at Northdale Manor where she served as chairperson of the resident’s council. Mrs. Terpstra was predeceased by her first husband, William Mayhew (1970), and by her second husband, Albert Terpstra (1993), whom she married in Oakville in 1973. She is survived by her sons Maurice (wife Brenda) Mayhew, Graham (wife Lucy) and Lawrence (wife Laurie) Mayhew; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel with the service conducted by Reverend Aaron Orear at St. Jude’s Church in Oakville. Roger Beauchamp Following a short illness with cancer, Roger Beauchamp of New Liskeard died at his home on October 15, 2007. He was 64. Mr. Beauchamp is survived by his wife Peggy; children Jocelyn (husband Ron Shaver) of North Bay, Victor Beauchamp of Peterborough, Renée Beauchamp (partner George Catt) of New Liskeard, Lara Beauchamp (fiancé Bassam Mnaymneh) of Victoria, British Columbia; grandchildren Zacharee and Kallee Shaver and Hunter Robert; mother Yvette Beauchamp; brother Richard and sister-in-law Cathy Beauchamp; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and George Dodds; and sister-in-law Janet Leveille. He was predeceased by his father Hervé Beauchamp in 1991 and an infant sister in 1955. Mr. Beauchamp was known by many in his 32 years of service at the New Liskeard Canada Post Office in the roles of clerk, supervisor and postmaster, as well as his employment with Caldwell Sand and Gravel. Over the years he enjoyed curling, golfing, the Lions Club, involvement in the New Liskeard Minor Hockey Association, membership in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish and Father Frances Murray Council of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially time spent with his children and grandchildren in their youth activities. The funeral mass and a celebration of life were held on October 17 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help parish. Father John Lemire and Father M.J. Scully officiated. Pallbearers were fellow Knights Alf O’Reilly, Brian Folco, Chris Collins, Michel Watchorn, Ray Lemoine and Dan Bastien. Interment of ashes has taken place at the New Liskeard Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Harry Stewart Temiskaming Lodge resident Harry Stewart died there October 26, 2007. Mr. Stewart was born to Peter Stewart and Jennie MacPherson, moved north from the Bancroft area in 1927 and married Effie Peters. He was a farmer who served in the military from 1939-47. GRANT, Dr. Brian E.J. 1940 - 2007 Dr. Brian Grant, beloved husband of Linda Grant, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the age of 67 years. Besides his loving wife, he will be dearly missed by his children Dewa (David Shawn) Grant of California, and Nye (Claudia) Grant of Florida as well as three granddaughters, Ava and Sophia Shawn and Olivia Grant. He is also survived by his sisters Rita, Zena and Anita of London, England. Dr. Grant was a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Calgary from 1968 until his passing. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father and grandfather. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Escalus Room of the MacEwan Student Centre at the University of Calgary (2500 University Drive N.W.). CRADDOCK, Laurence Francis July 4, 1919 - October 31, 2007 Passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre on October 31, 2007, at the age of 88 years. Laurence will be lovingly remembered by his children Sharron Engler of Ottawa, Warren Craddock of Chestermere and Judy Horner of Calgary; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Laurence was predeceased by his wife Elfrieda and brothers Sydney and Kenneth. Laurence was born in Assiniboia, SK to Gordon and Emma Craddock. He grew up on the family homestead near Stonehedge, SK. He joined the army August 7, 1940 to August 13, 1941. Laurence transferred to the R.C.A.F. at that time and enjoyed his career as a flight officer thus training crews to fly his favorite aircraft, the Catalina. Laurence became a civilian again on October 5, 1945 and went back to farming for about eight years. Laurence married Elfrieda on April 15, 1952 and started a family while working in lumberyards in Assiniboia and later in Oyen. Laurence hired on as a carpenter in 1958 with Alberta Gas Trunkline, which later became "Nova Corporation". He was transferred to Drumheller in 1959 and remained there until he and his family moved to Calgary in 1968 until he retired in 1984. In 1987, Laurence lost his beloved wife of thirty-five years. In 1996, he moved to Kelowna, BC where he enjoyed his retirement with his loving companion and cherished friend of the family, Eva Gerein. Due to illness, he came back to Calgary in mid-2006 to spend time with his family, spending the last five months with the wonderful staff at the Forest Grove Care Centre in Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Laurence's name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (Second Floor, 275 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 1A2). SUNDQUIST, Ruth Ruth Sundquist (nee Huston) passed away at the High River Hospital on October 31, 2007. Ruth was born at Sibbald, Alberta on December 25, 1914. As her first-born granddaughter Allison said, "my grandma had class, she was born on Christmas day and passed away on Halloween". She was predeceased by her husband Alex in 1995 and daughter-in-law Rosemary in 2007. Ruth will be dearly missed by her son Wally, granddaughter Allison (Mike) Snetsinger and their children Madeline and Jackson, granddaughter Carolyn Sundquist all of Vancouver, B.C; daughter Lorna (David) Schultz of High River, grandsons Wade of Langley B.C. and Michael (Jan) of Calgary. She will also be remembered by her sisters-in-law Crystal Huston of Oyen and Margaret Scott of Stavely, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and took great pride in her home in Stavely where she resided with Alex until 1988 when she moved to High River. She loved cooking and baking and spent many hours making cookies. There were always at least two kinds of cookies in the cookie tins as well as chocolate fudge in the syrup pail. One of her greatest pleasures was packing a lunch of fried chicken and homemade apple pie and going for a picnic to Willow Creek. She adored all her grandchildren and loved playing cards with them. Ruth's great love for dancing and music gave her many hours of enjoyment and she taught many a young man in Stavely how to dance. Knitting was also a wonderful pastime for Ruth "P" and that occupied most of her time throughout the last five years when she resided at the High River Hospital and Nursing Home. Her last project was "a scarf for an elephant". Ruth had a great wit and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At Ruth's request there will be no Funeral Services held. MURRAY, Dee (nee O'Malley): 1948 - 2007 - Just five days before receiving the heart pacemaker that was to prolong her life, Dee succumbed to her fatal illness at home. Dee, originally from Dublin, Ireland, was a long time resident of Val Caron. wife and best friend of her husband of 36 years. Glenn, mother and confident to daughter Michelle, and loving caregiver to her mother-in-law, Frances Murray now residing in the Elizabeth Centre, Val Caron. Survived by brother-in-law Douglas (Liz), New Castle, Ontario, sister-in-law Jane Fox (Paul), Comox, BC, brothers Walter (Breda) and Lewis (Noreen) and sister Carmel (Desi) all of Brisbane, Australia. Also survived by brother Desmond of Dublin, Ireland. Predeceased by father Michael, mother Kathleen, and brother Raymond, all of Dublin, Ireland. Her accomplishments were many. From scared non-swimmer to Bronze Cross, to marathoner, to cyclist, to canoeist and kayaker, from community volunteer to gourmet cook, a good listener and judge of character. Walker, hiker, gardener, and good friend to many. Gregarious and giving on one hand but quiet and private on the other. This lady improved your life just by knowing her.
