Loving daughter of the late Frank and Elta Dunlop. Beloved wife of Robert Swisher of Home, PA., and the late Orville Lidlow (1987). Dear mother of Barry Lidlow of Blenheim, and Bradley Lidlow of Morpeth. Brother of Murray Dunlop and his wife Ilene of Tillsonburg. LaVerna was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She had been a business woman and entrepreneur having owned and operated her own bulk food store. Beloved wife of the late John Peter (Jim) Creighton (1988). Loving mother of Joan and her husband Frank Lucas. Cherished grandmother of Timothy Lucas and his wife Deborah, Grant Lucas and his wife Robin, Richard Lucas and his wife Susan. Caring great- grandmother of Emily, Ben, Madeline, Jacob, and Olivia Lucas, Jocelyn (Josie) and her husband Nairn Florence and Geoffrey Figuroa. Dear aunt of Linton (Marion) Herron, Grant (Helen) Herron, and Reginald (Betty Anne) Hillman. Sister-in-law of Norma Creighton and Ena Parcher of Kingston. Predeceased by her parents Ernest Grant Stephens and Mary Beatrice Crowe and also by her sisters Alice Herron, Beatrice Stephens and Edna Hillman. For over 50 years a resident of the Stoney-Lake Nephton area, Vera, an Ottawa Civic Hospital Nurse, was often the first one called upon when a neighbour was ill. She obtained her elementary teaching certificate from the Peterborough Normal School in the early 1940's and taught school at S.S.#1B Burleigh, at the head of Stoney Lake, for nine years. She was also employed as secretary-bookkeeper at Indusmin for several years. Vera and her husband Jim moved to Peterborough in 1988. Vera was a founding member of the Nephton Women's Institute; a life member of the Carmel United Church Women; a member of George St. United Church and George St. U.C.W. She was a past matron of the Peterborough Chapter #161 - Order of the Eastern Star. SIMPSON, Lillian L. - In loving memory of Lillian Lila Simpson (nee Aho), 76 years, who passed away after fighting a courgeous battle with cancer, she succumbed to her illness on Saturday, November 3rd with family by her side. Born in Garson and living over the years in Sudbury, Garson and Falconbridge where she met and married the love of her life, Alan Charles Simpson, predeceased in 2005 after 54 years of marriage. Lillian spent many happy times at the family camp on Wally Lake and also enjoyed many trips within Canada and abroad with her husband and family. Though she had many jobs over her early years her main devotion was her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She touched the lives of all who knew her with warmth, generosity and kindness. Beloved wife of Alan Simpson predeceased 2005. Sadly missed by her son Howard of Toronto, Daughters Barbara (Normand) of Bracebridge and Sherry (Blain) of Wahnapitae as well as her cherished grandsons Wayne (Michelle) of Singapore and Dan (Lindsay) of Orillia. Loving mother of Benoit (Judy), Lyse Cazabon and Guylaine Ranger (Richard) all of Gatineau, Francine Cazabon-Bernier (Peter) and Nicole Restoule (late Fred DeLuca) both of Sudbury, Catherine Cazabon, Charlotte Cazabon (Zahir) and André (Christine) all of Ottawa, Jovette Beaudry (Gaetan) of Sturgeon Falls, Pierre (Lise) of Verner and Brigitte Nikitin (Jamie) of Burlington. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Léo, Lucien, Roland, Oscar, Marguerite and Thérèse. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and only great-great grandchild. BURELLE LALONDE, Fleurette est décédée paisiblement et courageusement le 4 octobre 2007. Fleurette (née Lalonde) a quitté le 1020 nord, rue Marlborough afin d'entreprendre son dernier voyage à l'âge de 78 ans (23 jours avant sa fête de 79 ans). Elle était l'épouse bien-aimée de Maurice Burelle. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille unique choyée Anne Alguire (Rex); ses deux petits-enfants adorés: Josée et Joël Duval ainsi que son arrière petite-fille bien-aimée Léa Duval, de Cornwall. Elle était la fille de feu Léo Lalonde et de feu Palmyre (Vinette) Lalonde. Elle laisse aussi sa seule soeur, Juliette Boudrias (feu Charles) de Rochester, New York. MONTEFRESCO, Maria October 21, 1950 - November 2, 2007 Maria Montefresco, of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, November 2, 2007 after a courageous battle with CADASIL, at the age of 57 years. She was born on October 21, 1950, in Acri Cosenza, Italy. After the early passing of her mother in 1957, she later immigrated with her brother Francesco to Canada in 1962, to join their father. In 1969, she met and married the love of her life Giovanni. Together they shared three beautiful children, two daughters and a son, all whom Maria took great pride in devoting her life to. Her family was without a doubt of the utmost importance and a joy to Maria. Everyone recognized that she was an amazing cook and enjoyed nothing more than to entertain a house full of family and friends. Her inner strength allowed her to go above and beyond for everyone and working hard was in her nature. With a smile on her face and a warm loving heart, she greeted everyone with open arms. Besides her husband Giovanni, she leaves behind her daughter Serafina and son-in-law Chris Yuzicapi, her daughter Francesca, and her son Antonio and daughter-in-law Samantha. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Alyssa, Tayla, Faith, Levi, Earl, Jayden and her unborn grandson. Maria is also survived by the loving mother who raised her, Annunziata Perri, her brother Aurelio (Andrea) Perri, her brother-in-law Guiseppe (Lorna) Montefresco, all of Calgary. As well, very dear to her heart were her mother-in-law Serafina Succurro, her brother-in-law Gildo (Angela) Montefresco, and brother-in-law Saverio (Anna) Montefresco all of Cosenza, Italy. She will be greatly missed by her Aunt and Uncle, Giuseppina and Frank Secreti (who loved Maria like a daughter). Maria had nine nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and countless cousins both in Canada and Italy. She was predeceased by her mother Francesca Fusaro, her father Fedele Perri and her brother Francesco Perri. Maria's smile, her loving nature and genuine kindness for others, will forever live in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. You were so tired and now your suffering is over and with us we take only loving memories of your beautiful soul. May you rest in peace sweet angel. She was predeceased by her husband Karl, sister Grace and brother Norris. She is survived by her daughter Jane Pattison and son Edwin (Jennifer) Falstrem.
