DI STEFANO, Pasquale "Pascal" Ancien résident de Montréal, Pasquale "Pascal" Di Stefano, 90 ans, est décédé le 19 octobre 2007, à Los Angeles, Californie. Fils de Vincenze Di Stefano et Anastasia Teolli, Pascal est né le 22 avril 1917 à Rocca D'evandro, Naples, Italie. Il a immigré à Montréal à l'âge de 4 ans et a marié Antoinette Di Fruscia à Montréal, le 23 avril 1945. Ils ont été mariés pendant 60 ans et ont eu deux enfants, Linda Di Stefano et Pat Di Stefano Jr. La famille Di Stefano a déménagé à Los Angeles, Californie en février 1961. Après avoir élevé leur famille, Pascal et Antoinette ont pris résidence à Las Vegas, Nevada en 1991. Sa fille Linda Lackey, ses petites-filles Chantal Reed et Danielle Lackey, et ses arrière-petites-filles Charlotte et Julia Reed, lui survivent. Il est maintenant réuni avec Pat, son cher fils, et Antoinette, sa femme aimante, qui sont décédés avant lui. KIERS, Wayne Clarence, 1948-2007 - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Wayne on Friday October 19th, 2007. Wayne was born in Wapse, Diever Netherlands. Wayne was the fifth child born to Michiel and Harmina Kiers. He was a loving husband and father and is deeply mourned by Tess (nee DeJong), his wife of 33 years, daughter Rachel, son Michael, and siblings; John (Ruth), Betty, Harry (Diane), Henry (Joanne), Alice (Rein), and Roelof (Marie- Claude), Mike (Irene). Wayne was a man of integrity, gentleness, strong faith, humility, and compassion. He understood and worked to empower others. Many friends benefited from his gentle discernment, vast biblical knowledge, and patient teaching. Wayne was a keen observer of people and nature; he was a writer and avid gardener. He never put himself forward and was content to let others take the praise. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on October 29, 2007 in Victoria B.C. and a Memorial Service will be held at St. Ann's Community Church 5425 Regional Road 69 in St. Ann's Ontario at 11:00 am. Light luncheon after memorial to follow. Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1953 from Madeira, Portugal. He resided in Port Colborne for 50 years, where he worked at Maple Leaf Mills. After 27 years of service, he retired in 1974 to enjoy many years of retirement. Antonio was a member of the Le Centre polyvalent des anés francophones de Port Colborne and was an avid pigeon flyer for over 45 years. DIGNARD, Clifford - Clifford Fredrick Dignard passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Thursday October 25, 2007 at the age of 81. Born in North Bay, Ontario he was a son of the late Anestase and Marie (née Currie) Dignard. He spent many years living and working as a welder and mechanic in the Welland and Port Colborne area. Clifford enjoyed many hobbies and pursued his interests in fishing, bowling, reading and travelling and he was especially proud of his cars. Cliff was a loving father to Gary of Brampton, Ontario, Yvonne of Belize, and Paul of Vancouver, British Columbia and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kristin, Tyler and Kalyla, his niece Brenda and by his best friend Viola Knight of Meaford and her family. A family service of interment of Clifford's cremated remains will be conducted at a later date in Port Colborne. CAPPER, John Alexander. Was born on December 10, 1918 in Montreal and died peacefully at his home in Victoria, BC on October 24, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Shirley; father of Beverley (John), Maureen (Robert); and grandfather (the "wise one") to Meaghan, Marc, Julien and Olivier. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Eileen and brothers, Alfred and Desmond. John entered McGill in 1940 and left to serve in the Navy in 1942 where he served on a minesweeper, 2 corvettes and a frigate as A/S Officer. At Wars end, he returned to McGill and graduated in 1947 with a B.Com. He joined the family business, WM Capper and Sons the same year until retiring in 1987. There, John acted as a textile agent, representing fine woolen mills in England, Ireland and Scotland. He will be most fondly remembered and missed for his keen intellect, absurd sense of humour, his stoic courage in the face of adversity, generosity of spirit and his unswerving loyalty to those whom he loved and to the principles that he believed in. GREELEY, Lena Jane (nee Safford). Of Red Deer, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the age of seventy-two. Jane was born July 27, 1935 in Montreal. She was the daughter of Lewis and Annie Safford. Jane is survived by her daughters Patty (Joe Soveaux), Carolyn Holmes (Paul Coad), Julie (Darcy) Ludwig of Red Deer, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother Bud (Judy) Safford of Mount Royal. Jane grew up in Sutton and married Bernard in 1956. In 1978 Jane and her family moved to Red Deer. Jane found great pleasure spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always working on a home project. Renovating was her favourite pastime. She also loved knitting, reading, camping, volunteering at the Golden Circle, as well as watching car racing. Jane had a great love for animals, especially her dog. A memorial service will be held at Grace Anglican Church, 52 Principale South, Sutton, from 2 to 4 p.m. November 3, 2007. Sheldon Bruce Mann Sheldon Bruce Mann ,23, of High St. Moncton and Upper Coverdale, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness. Born in Moncton, Sheldon was a son of David and Patricia (Duff) Mann. A graduate of J.M.A. High, he was an avid football fan and helped coach the J.M.A. Varsity Cougars. Sheldon was a friend to everyone and accepted his physical challenges with a smile and was always more concerned for others. Teasing family members at gatherings and time spent at the Big Dog Lounge was special to him. He loved to tell all "Thank God I'm a Country Boy". SAUNDERS, DAVID K. - Surrounded by his family, suddenly on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Toronto General Hospital, as the result of cardiac arrest only ten days before. David Saunders of Lakefield in his 50th year. Dave was a former employee of the Toronto Zoo and a longtime dedicated employee of C.U.P.E. From 1986, David served as a National and Educational Representative. Loved and missed by his wife and best friend Linda. GAGNE, IRENE FAYE - Peacefully at her residence in Blacks Harbour N.B., surrounded by her family, Mrs. Irene Faye (Bradford) Gagne, wife of Mr. Louis Joseph Gagne. Born in Blacks Harbour on February 5, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Cora (Burrell) Bradford. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and ever loving person. Irene is survived by her husband, Louis; two daughters, Rose Collett of Ottawa ON, and Selena (Mark) Bannerman of Barney's River N.S.; two sons, Charles "Chuck" (Erica) Gagne of Fredericton NB, and Chris Gagne (Debbie MacDougall) of Blacks Harbour; eight grandchildren, Corine, Anne, Cody, Serena, Roman, Tristan, Ashton and Duncan; two brothers, Freddie (Alice) Brandford of Hampton, N.B., and Donnie (Evelyn) Brandford of Utopia N.B.; three sisters, Twyla (Leo) Rhynold of Beaver Harbour, Judy Bradford (Doreen Booth) of Saint John, N.B. and Dolores (Doug) Lockhart of Blacks Harbour; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Irene was predecased by three brothers, Harold, Roy and Burrell; four sisters, Phrina Deveau, Stella Steeves, Anne Gaudett and Donaldine McGarrigle.Irene was employed most of her working life with Connors Bros. in Blacks Harbour. Through the years, she was very active and involved with numerous events and organizations throughout her community. She had a special love for others and loved every person she met. Irene enjoyed gardening and to spend time with her grandchildren and family. She loved to read the Bible and serving the Lord. Irene also found pleasure in shopping for gifts for others. Resting at the Wesleyan Church in Blacks Harbour from where the service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the Blacks Harbour Community Cemetery. Visiting at the church will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Irene's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. COOK, LANA DAWN "LANNIE" - by accident, the death of Lana Cook occurred on October 25, 2007. She was born in Saint John on December 22, 1972 to John and Louise (Larsen) Cook. Lana worked at Sears Clinque in the McAllister Mall. Besides working she was a full time mom, she loved her children and attended their hockey games and dance classes. She also volunteered with cancer patients, taking care of their needs. Besides her parents, Lana is survived by her partner in life Frederick "Fred" MacNeill and three daughters, Brodie, Jaden and Charlee; her brother, Darrell Cook of Yarmouth, NS; her twin sister, Lori Ann McCully (Dennis) of Petitcodiac, NB and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Josephine and Lawrence Larsen; her paternal grand parents, Harold and Edna Cook and three uncles Tommy, Johnny and Robert Larsen. Lana will be missed by all, but she will be missed especially by her loving children, which she loved so much. Reid H. Morris Reid H. Morris, 54, of Berry Mills, New Brunswick passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Glenvale, New Brunswick as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of Delma (Rafuse) Morris, West Brook and the late Howard Morris. Paul Joseph Gallant 1927 - 2007 Paul Joseph Gallant, of Riverview, passed away with family by his side at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Born in Puisville, PE on June 29, 1927 he was the son of the late Charles and Julienne Gallant. Paul started his career with Byron Dobson in 1946, then worked as a building contractor for a number of years. In later years he worked with Riverview Truck and Repair where he officially retired in 1999. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed the outdoors, and above all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years Betty; daughters, Candace (Gary) Aguinaga, Bev Gallant, and Judy (Ron) Barter all of Riverview; son Jeff (Lori) Gallant of Georgetown, ON; sisters, Rita (Cliff) Gallant of Aurora, ON, Zena (Arnold) Arsenault of PE, Diane (Gerry) O'Connell of PE, Erma (Wilf) Desroche of ON, Gloria Maillet of ON; brother - in law, Gerry Martin of ON; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Bertha Martin and Anne Marie Gallant, also by his brother, Kevin Gallant. GARRELL, Leslie Cyril - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Les Garrell on October 23rd, 2007, in his 81st year. He was a Golden Gloves champion, WWII war veteran, and a great man.
