Mother of George Hemming Merry, David McKillop Merry (Maria Giammaria Merry), Andrew James Merry and Janet Eva Kuntz (Craig Kuntz). Grandmother to Sam and Ben Kuntz. Born in Montreal on October 1, 1928 to Henry Noland Dearlove and Margaret Bennett. Predeceased by her aunt and uncle, Eva and Joe Hemming. Survived by her sister Geraldine Hood and predeceased by her siblings Phyllis, Johnny and Kenny. PALMER LEROY CARLTON - The death of LeRoy Carleton Palmer, loving husband of Doris (Lavender) Palmer of Rothesay, NB, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 25, 2007 at his residence, after a lengthy illness. Born 1920 in Carleton County, NB he was the son of the late LeRoy S. and Ella Pearl (Kelly-McKay) Palmer. LeRoy was a Veteran of WWII serving overseas as a Private with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp in England from 1941-1945. After returning from war, he worked as a police officer in Toronto and Saint John. LeRoy worked for shipping companies and owned and operated Pal Construction. He was a volunteer with the board of Christian Education.The last surviving member of his immediate family, he is survived by his loving wife, of 66 years; son, LeRoy (Lee) Palmer (Jocelyn) of Coquitlam, BC; daughters, Betty Anne Armstrong (Keith) of Rothesay and Kelly Lanigan (John) of Baxter's Corner; grandchildren, Scott, Janelle, Ashley, Joshua, Lindsay and Kyle; great grandchildren, Ben, Kaili and Cole; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased brothers, Gerald and Irvine McKay and sisters, Margaret (McKay) Burnham, Edna (McKay) Saunders and Infant sister Kathleen Palmer. He pursued a career at The Bank of Montreal in 1933 retiring after 41 yrs. Predeceased by Molly his wife of 45 years and Marjorie his 2nd wife who came to him later in life and by his brother Philip and sisters Joyce Marshall, Doris Marchioni, Sylvia Campbell. Hugh leaves a great void in the lives of his son Peter and his wife Sandra, granddaughter Lisa & her husband Kent Ramesbottom and his great- granddaughter Lauren who called him the “Silver Fox”.
