MASON, Lindsay Christine - It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Lindsay, last week. She was the beloved sister of Kimball Scott and his wife Sandra of Trenton, a nurturing Aunt to Courtney and James Scott, and loving Godmother to Taylor-Ann and David Whalen. Lindsay was raised and educated in Trenton, and graduated Trent University. She went on to be a successful business woman, running her own business in the Newmarket area and most recently Niagara on the Lake. Lindsay will be long remembered for her support of numerous charitable causes, and work on behalf of local political initiatives. The deceased will be cremated, and a memorial service to be held at a later date. Lindsay's cheerful and optimistic disposition will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. 10807317

PLOMP, Wendy Joy June 1, 1956 - August 31, 2007 Wendy Joy Plomp, of Cochrane, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer, on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 51 years. Wendy leaves behind her loving husband Blair Schweitzer and the two lights of her life, her sons Joe and Chance. She also leaves behind her parents Dutch and Elaine; her sisters Cheryl (Wayne) Rowlandson, and Nancy Whatmore; nieces and nephews, Ben and Carrie Rowlandson, Clayton Whatmore and Jamie (Lee) Hardy. KITCHINGMAN, Arthur “Nick“ Gramps“ - Of St. David's at the age of 97. Passed away peacefully beside his doting wife Ruth. Gramps was always the life of the party, and was the proudest fan of all his grandkids. Nick is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth (Doan), and beloved father of Margaret (Colin) Krueger, and his late daughter Gladys Barry. He will be greatly missed by son-in-law Leo “Butch“ Barry, grandchildren Maureen (late Don) Banks, Kevin (Carol) Brady, Colin “Smoke“ (Debbie) Krueger, Craig (Dawn Marie) Krueger, Andrea Krueger, and Shannon (Guy) Burberry. Great Grandpa to Courtney, Meghan, and Shelby Brady; Alex, Nicholas, Lucas and Zack Krueger. Nick was born in Leeds, England on October 20th, 1909 and came to Canada with his family in 1921, settling in the Niagara area. He was proudest of his grandkids, and loved to share in their latest accomplishments and celebrate their triumphs. He loved his “farm“, and was happiest out riding his lawn mower. When not on his mower, he could be found watching the cars go by. The grass on the front lawn of heaven just got a little bit shorter, and the parties a little bit livelier. The family will receive friends at the HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm. Survived by Aunt Mary Dousett, special cousin Joanne Proctor, longtime special friend Linda A. Russell, and surrogate sons Eric B. Johnson and Stanley Obaji. Raised in Collingwood and Newmarket, Ontario, a graduate of York University, for many years he worked at York County Hospital, and was Founding President of the Essex County Child Abuse & Neglect Association, Windsor, ON, and later was active in the Frontenac County Child Abuse Committee. After attending seminary at Nashotah House, Wisconsin, Bill was ordained Priest in the Holy Catholic Church (Anglican/Episcopal) in 1979, subsequently serving parishes in Kingston, ON; Norristown, PA; Las Vegas, N.V (Good Shepherd campus); St. Jude's Ranch for Children; Westwood, NJ; and Hollis, NY. He was also an Associate of the Sisters of the Holy Nativity, Fond du Lac, WI. Special thanks to Fr. John Mitchell, the Wardens and parishioners of Grace Episcopal Church, Westwood, New Jersey, for their generosity and kindness; to Fr. Brian Laffler, Fr. H. FRANK, Anne (Frimet) 1924 - 2007 Surrounded by loving family, Anne Frank, nee Frimet, passed away on September 1, 2007 after a long and spirited battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her brother and best friend Lou Frimet (Dena); her beloved son Charles Frank (Beth); grandchildren Michael Frank and Laurie-Anne Bulmer (Steve); great-grandchildren Olivia and Rebecca; and a treasured extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Moses Frimet, her brothers Israel and Adolph, sister Sarah, and nephew Shane. Anne was born in Lipton, Saskatchewan and grew up in nearby Melville, first on the family farm and then later in town. Eventually she moved with her mother and Charles to Winnipeg, and then later to Calgary to be close to her brother Lou and his family. Her life was full of family and friends, holidays and happy times. She was an integral part of a wide network of family and cousins as well as expatriate Saskatchewanians. She adored pets, especially her "grand dog" Zippy. Her greatest passion was her family; her greatest trademark her chicken soup with kreplach that graced holiday meals. She will be very missed. Special thanks to Dr. Robin Dargie, her long-time and trusted physician, and all the staff at Southwood Hospice for their gentle care in the last week of her life. Leah Richard SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Leah Richard, age 100, of Sackville, occurred suddenly at the Drew Nursing Home on Friday, August 31, 2007. Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late William and Joseline (LeBlanc) Richard. Leah, a lifelong resident of Sackville was well known through her over 40 years of employment at Trenholm's Ladies Shop. She was a member of St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church. Celebrating her 100th birthday in 2007 she is the last surviving member of her immediate family and will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Edgar, Dital and Willie; by sisters, Beatrice, Frances, Edmay and Rosalie. Leah's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300). By her request there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 3, 2007 at 11 am from St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, Father Allison Carroll officiating. Barry Trist Funeral arrangements by Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary Barry Trist, 61, a Vietnam Veteran, passed away from pneumonia, on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. Barry was a precision machinist who worked in the Aerospace Industry. In his spare time he loved to restore automobiles. The Funeral and Viewing will be held at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary in North Hollywood on Friday, August 31, 2007. There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Graveside. Barry is survived by his mother Margaret Trist, his sister Margie Heister, and his brother Steve Trist. He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas P. Trist and his older brother Nicky Trist.
