McSTRAVICK, David Harry After a courageous battle with lung disease, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, June 17, 2007, in his 61st year. Beloved son of Ada Follows and the late Frank McStravick. Loving husband of Julie (Angel). Cherished father of Christopher, Cindy (Reg), Tanya (Jason), Ryan (Nadia), Derek (Laurie), Keri-Lyn (Rory) and Adam. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Danika, Emily, Kaeley, Isabella, Jordan, Stephane, Patrick and Brendon. Brother of Edward and Daniel. Predeceased by brother Robert and sister Beverly. He will also be missed by his in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. DAWSON, Helen May (Boland). Daughter of the late Francis and Lillis Boland, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 at Lachute hospital at the age of sixty-five. Beloved husband George and children Bob and Lori-Ann Dunphy were at her side. Helen was deeply loved by her daughter-in-law Sheri, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Jamie-Lynn, Jack, Riley, Cole and Lucy. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Mary, Eileen (Don), and Margaret (Gordie), many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Leslie-Ann (at birth). Helen will always be fondly remembered for her laughter and big heart. Those who loved her loved her a lot. Since leaving Montreal Litho, where she worked hard for twenty-five years, Helen has been an important member of the Legion Branch 171 and the Ladies Auxiliary in Morin Heights. PAUL, Violet "Vi" (nee Milligan) January 19, 1916 - June 18, 2007. Vi died peacefully, aged ninety-one at Princess Gardens senior's residence in Peterborough, Ontario. Devoted wife of the late Stanley Paul, no-nonsense mother of Stephen, Trisha and Elaine, mother-in-law of Renee, Michael and Keith and grandmother of eight. She grew up in Longueuil and St. Lambert and brought up her family in Lachine and Pointe Claire. Also known as "Little Flower" and "small but mighty", Vi was intelligent, a whirlwind of energy, decisive, determined, a good friend and your best advocate in times of need. Vi recently said that she had had a lucky life: had loving parents, married a good man and had wonderful children. She had the benefit of a good education (R.N., Montreal General Hospital, 1938) believed in giving to the community and volunteered throughout her life. Vi and Stan travelled all over the world, as she said, to places she thought that she would only ever read about. A Memorial Service will be held at Princess Gardens chapel on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Root officiating. ANDERSON, VICTORIA The death of Victoria Anderson of Charters Settlement, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 17th, 2007. Born in Gateshead, England on January 6th, 1955 she was the daughter of Valerie Ward and the late Brian Ward. She worked at the Union of New Brunswick Indian's Training Institute. She will be greatly missed by her husband, David Anderson; her children, Jacob Anderson and Rebecca Anderson all of Fredericton, NB; her mother, Valerie Ward; her brothers, Brad, Simon and Kyle Ward; her sister, Christine Ward; her sister-in-law, Judith and Alan Thompson; her nieces, Janet Thompson-Price and Rachel Thompson; as well as brothers-in-law, Stuart and Jenny Anderson and Mark Anderson and Louise Schwartz. She was also the beloved daughter-in-law of Cyril and Violet Anderson. She is predeceased by her father, Brian Ward. Although there will be no visitation a memorial service will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, on Thursday, June 21st, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Ralph Jordan Brown 1926-2007 QUEENSBURY, NB - Ralph Jordan Brown, son of the late Ernest Lorne and Ruby (Jordan) Brown of Lower Queensbury NB, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital following a brief illness. Ralph was born August 21, 1926, in Lower Queensbury, NB. He and his wife Leola (Kingston) moved to Tracy in 1951 to start their family and his 40 year career in Road construction with M.E. Phillips & son. He moved back to his Loyalist family homestead and spent his last two years there with his sister-in-law Bernice (Love) Brown. Ralph leaves his memories and love to his Daughters, Dorothy (Robb) Connors of Salisbury, NB, and Marla (Eric) Rossiter, of Alma, NB; son, David (Gale) of Denver, CO, US; grandchildren, Tommi and Caden Connors; and Kristen and Carrie Brown; sister-in-law and loving companion, Bernice (late Neill); sister Joyce (late Vernon) Hudson, of Hopewell Hill, NB; brother George (Joyce) of Ennismore ON; sisters-in-law, Irene (late Ralph) Gilmore, of Rusagonis NB, Helen (Fred) Steadman, of Keswick Ridge, NB; brother-in-law, Alison (Helen) Kingston of Fredericton, NB. He maintained his New Brunswick Guide licence since the early 1950s. He and his sister Joyce were the sole members of the Cape Enrage Octogenarian Rappelling Club. He was a past member of the Shepody Fish & Game Association. He bowled at Kingswood with the Tuesday Morning Lunch Group. He loved to golf, hunt, fish, pick berries and fiddleheads, Garden, and tease. Ralph received his greatest pleasures from making people smile. He loved to be on the road and visit with friends and relatives, therefore as he wished, visitation will be at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Tracy, on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, and at the Mactaquac Baptist Church on Thursday, June 21, from 11am to 12:30pm. Much loved grandchildren James, Eric, Vivian, Andrew and Ryan. Rudi was employed with the Federal Government for 37 years and managed the Human Resources Development Canada/Manpower offices in Welland and St. Catharines. After his retirement he was asked to take a position with the Employment Help Center and remained as the Executive Director for 14 years. He built the organization from very humble beginnings in St. Catharines, and went on to add satellitc offices in Welland, Beamsville and Grimsby. He was also a member of the Board with Community Legal Clinic - St. Catharines: Welland Public Library Board; Past Chairman of the Multicultural Network of Niagara Falls; Director of the Welland Heritage Council and belonged to the Ullysse's Society, St. Catharines as he was dedicated to life long learning. Rudi has been called a “Renaissance Man“. He was a highly recognized writer, artist, photographer and a self taught linguist, speaking 5 languages. Son-in-law of Yvette Ward; Brother-in Law of Claudette Richard (John), Carole Burch (Kenneth), Chester Ward (Lorraine), Gerald Ward (Marilyn), Ronald Ward (Wendy), Barry Ward, John Ward, Jeffrey Ward (Wendy), David, Ward. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by many good friends. Life long friend Sep Swoboda - Graz, Austria; Cousin Alexander Schultheis, Santiago, Chile, both traveled to be by his side in this last week. DAVIS, CAROL ANN The passing of Carol Ann Davis of Fredericton, NB occurred at the York Manor Nursing Home 0n June 17, 2007 at the age of 68. Born in Cross Creek, NB, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Mabel (Currie) Hood. Carol was employed at the Carousel Flower Shop and later with the Trius Group. She was Presbyterian by faith and an Honorary Member of Orange Lodge #656, Nashwaaksis. Survived by her husband of 50 years Rex Davis; four children Don (Cathy) of Fredericton, Ann Martin (Richard) of Burtt's Corner, Earl (Patti) of Fredericton, Colleen (Tony Watson) of Fredericton; seven grandchildren Mary Ellen, Mark, Annie, Matthew, Sarah, Alexandria, and Brook Lynn; great-grandchild Adrian; brothers Joe Hood(Emily) and Ray Hood (Paulette) all of Cross Creek; aunt Ida Currie of Stanley; several nieces, nephews and several cousins.
