HAMM, CHARLES (ALBERT) – of Saint John went home to be with his Lord after a brief battle with cancer on May 30th, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Albert was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years Trudy (Anderson) Hamm in December 2005. Albert is survived by his daughter H. Louise and (Stanley C.) Steeves of Quispamsis, two grandsons, Rev. David (Cynthia) Steeves of Moncton, NB. and Douglas Steeves of Burnaby, BC. also his precious little great granddaughter Brooke. Albert was born on June 27th, 1920 to the late Charles and Ada (Moore) Hamm. After serving overseas in World War II, Albert owned and operated a grocery and meat business in Lower West Side with his father. In 1960 he began a new career selling real estate until his retirement in 1985. Albert loved his Lord and was always serving in the work of his church teaching Sunday school, as a board member and as treasurer. Albert and Trudy enjoyed traveling south for many years with their special friends, enjoying laughs and many happy times together. He always enjoyed his Wednesday morning buddies of "Friend & Friend Bowling Club." Albert and Trudy also were honorary lifetime members of the Gideon's. Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB. Eric LeFort 1949 - 2007 Eric LeFort, 57, of Dieppe, passed away at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 30th, 2007. Born in Cheticamp, Cape Breton, he was the son of Marie-Hélène LeFort and the late Joseph LeFort. Eric owned the company Fax-Mart, and sold and installed cash registers and security systems throughout the Atlantic Provinces. Music was always a big part of Eric's life, having learned to sing and play the guitar and mandolin at an early age and played in a Country and Western band the "Silver Five" for a number of years in Cape-Breton. Eric and his wife Louise attended bluegrass festivals during the summer months, where Eric enjoyed jamming with other musicians. After being diagnosed with cancer in January 2006, Eric sought to help those in need afflicted with the disease by creating and selling a Bluegrass CD entitled "In Memory Of…" which comprised music and songs from 21 Maritime groups. He was most proud of the first song on the CD, "Our Hero" that he wrote in honor of Dr. Sheldon Rubin. Eric is survived by his wife, Louise (Perry) LeFort; daughter, Laura Lee Gay (Glenn) and granddaughter, Natasha; son, Peter LeFort; step-daughter, Kiera Perry; stepsons, Kevin and Stephen Perry; sisters, Regina Deveau (Roy), Lisette Aucoin (Ronnie), Pierrette Roach (Daniel Bourgeois); and many nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his father, Joseph in 2005 and son, Joey in 1995. There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Service to be held at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Monday, June 4th, 2007 at 10am. Survived by, daughters, Ann Marie Banks, Marilyn Audrey Galbraith (Lawrence), Gail Ellen LeGresley (Ernie MacGillivray); son, Wendell Donald Banks (Linda), as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; son -in- law, George Byers and chosen daughter and special friend Alfreda Hanlon. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Clement; one son, Clement Maynard Banks; and one daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Byers.
