ATTINELLO, Rocco Salvatore - At Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, Rocco died peacefully with his family by his side, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Grazia for 56 years. Loved father of Santo and his wife Teresa, Gaetano and his wife Loretta, Salvatore and his wife Bernita. Proud Nonno of Maya, Zyna, Saalah, Andrea, Adriano, Jocelyn, and Demetria. Dear brother of Rosa (the late Santo) Amato, Grazia (the late Antonio) Farina, and Maria (the late Ignazio) Farina. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers and their wives, Carlo (Guiseppina), Martino (Nicolina) and Santo (Rosalia) and brother-in-law of Anna (Vincenzo) Pittari and Maria Pizzuto. Rocco was employed for many years at Esso Chemical and retired in 1986. He was a member of the Dante Club. Family and friends will miss seeing him working in his garden. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. SIMPSON, Edward (WWII) - After a brief illness, on Thursday May 3rd, 2007 with his two sons by his side, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 83. Loving husband of Kathleen for 58 years. Dear father of Mike, Jim and his wife Trish Simpson. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Kimberly, Jennifer, James and Joshua. Dear brother-in-law of Shirley and Bruce Wagner, Helen and Bruce Muirhead and Marlene Ruth. Uncle of Debbie, Karen and Mark. Also remembered by Bill and Doris Gibbins. Edward was a long time member of Grantham Optimist Club, coaching softball for many years and active with the registration. He was a long time member of First Grantham United Church. DOUTHWAITE, Aiden Michael - Peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by his loving family and friends at the tender age of 4, our sweet angel left us to be in a better place and is finally at rest. Beloved son of Jennifer and Mark, dear brother of Meghan, cherished grandson of Ron and Alice, Claudia and Ray, sweet nephew of Ron and Sheri, Amanda and Scott, Alison and Moira. Aiden's illness was very sudden and unexpected but he was strong and brave and gave a courageous fight. Aiden will be sadly missed by many as his precious smile touched the lives of everyone around him. MacINNES, Mary Ethel - Mary Ethel MacInnes entered into rest peacefully at Caressant Care, Mary Street, Lindsay, ON, on Sunday, February 18th, 2007. Mary Truman was born in Eldon Twp. on November 20th, 1907, the youngest child of Samuel Truman and Mary Greaves. She received her education at Kirkfield P.S., L.C.I. and Peterborough Teachers'' College. Upon graduation from Teachers'' College, she taught at Hindon Hill, Long Point, Eldon Station and Argyle. Mary returned to her teaching profession at Sandringham P.S. in 1953. She taught there until June 1965 when the school closed. She retired then from teaching after many years in the school room. Mary was the beloved wife of Carl MacInnes who predeceased her in 1990. They were married on September 22nd, 1934 at the bride''s home south of Kirkfield. They lived on Carl''s farm on the Palestine Road for 35 years before retiring to Lindsay in 1969. She was the dear mother and mother-in-law of Karleen and Ken Ferguson, Charlotte and Hugh Johnston, all of Powles Corner and Mervyn and Dianne MacInnes of Lindsay. Mary was also the proud Grandma of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her sisters and brothers Millicent Mitchell (half sister), Arthur, Edward, Emma McInnis, Bill, Sinclair, Dorothy McDonald, Adelaide (died at age of one year) and Lewie. She is survived by her sister-in-law Isobel Truman (Lewie) of Lindsay. Mary was a member of Eldon Station Presbyterian Church, and later St. Andrew''s Presbyterian Church, Lindsay where she was very active in the W.M.S. Her interests centered around her family, her home, her church, and of course her career of teaching. She also loved to sew, making many quilts, and was also very fond of music and playing the piano. The funeral was held on February 21st, 2007 from St. Andrew''s Presbyterian Church, Lindsay. Rev. Linda Park and Rev. Wm. Fairley conducted the service. Interment in the spring at South Eldon Cemetery. The pallbearers were Murray McInnis, Jim Farrow, Don Grant, Glen Campbell, Reid Torrey and Bob Truman. 0

Il laisse également ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs, ses neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux autres parents et amis. Born May 25, 1923 in London, England, Doris was a very proud WWII veteran who lived life with great faith, strength and wisdom. She will be sadly missed by her five children, Gary L. Carl was a man full of gentleness, wisdom, understanding, laughter and love. Everyday of his life he showed how much he cared for his family by his hard work, gentle strength and by his constant support in their lives. Carl immigrated to Canada in 1959 and worked as a sheet metal worker on many major projects within the sheet metal industry and during that time he passed on his knowledge to many people in this trade. Mom was also a breast cancer survivor from 2002. Ellen Hemming was predeceased by our father, Edmund Hemming and became the loving spouse of James Strnad (courted from 1982 until marriage in 1999). We wish to recognize our sister, Susan for her tireless effort in caring for Mother throughout her illness and providing a rock upon which we all sought refuge when it became clear that this was not to have a happy outcome. Doubtless, we could not have made it through without her professionally providing the palliative tender care needed to make the end as comfortable and with the dignity deserving of the woman who nurtured and raised us all. And though in this sad time, Jim has graciously borne the press of our (at times) overwhelming presence and support for Mother and their love for each other, we, as a family also love them both dearly and our lives are brightened by their presence and Mom's passing amongst us all. Our Mother and Jim's wife was a wonderful, loving, graceful woman who will be sadly missed by all . . . gone but always lovingly remembered. John (Jay) Joseph Lavis Obits - Friday, May 04, 2007 Updated @ 11:01:46 AM It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness the family of Jay Lavis announces his passing in his 49th year, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a workplace accident. Jay was adored and will forever occupy a prominent place in the heart of his loving wife and best friend Jayne. Recently predeceased by Jayne’s parents, Fred and Ginny, Jay was welcomed into Jayne’s family with open arms, enjoying a very close relationship with Jayne’s brother Anthony and his wife Loretta. England and Jayne’s hometown of Stockton-on-Tees became a “second home” for Jay as he embraced the friendly, personable and caring nature of Jayne’s family and friends in England during his many visits. The firstborn child to John and Joan Lavis, Jay was a devoted son who was deeply and unconditionally loved by his parents. Dearest brother to Dan (Jennifer), Ann (Steve) and Tom, Jay’s love of life and infectious humour was an inspiration to them all. “Uncle Jay” made it a priority to provide his nephews and niece with fun and laughter and will always be fondly remembered by his nephews Kurtis, Justin, and Jackson and his special niece Kaitlan. Jay will be sorely missed by Aunt Marie, Uncle Bev, Aunt Carol, Aunt Cindy and his loving cousins. There was nothing Jay enjoyed more than sharing memorable experiences with friends and living life to its fullest. Among his wide circle of devoted friends, the family would like to sincerely thank Joe and Patricia and their children Chanelle and Carlon, as well as Chris and Jane and their children Abbi, Thomas and Sam for their enduring love and friendship. Jay thoroughly enjoyed his career as a golf course superintendent and made many friends in the golf business. The last few years of Jay’s work life were among his most satisfying and fulfilling. Jay’s family would like to thank Gord Dol and all of the staff at Dol Turf for making it a rewarding experience for Jay to get up in the morning and go to work. Jay Lavis was blessed with an incredibly attractive, endearing and engaging personality, charm and wit. He had an uncommon ability to consistently evoke laughter, smiles and enjoyment in everyone he came in contact with. Jay’s irrepressible optimism and infectious energy was a shining example and lasting legacy for all who knew and loved him. Visitation took place at Dods & McNair Funeral Home and Chapel, 21 First St., Orangeville, on Sunday, April 29 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Jay Lavis’ life was held in the Chapel on Monday, April 30 at 11 am. In 1995, Jay’s father John was in his final hours when he received a new heart from an unselfish and inspired organ donor. Among Jay’s organs, his incredibly strong and loving heart has already been donated as a gift of life to another individual. GROLWAY, Barry - On May 2, 2007 Mr. Barry Grolway of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the age of 56. he is lovingly remembered by his wife Cheryl, his four children; Stephaine (David), Caitin (Francois), Alysha and Breanna, his parents Orval and Marion Grolway, his brothers and sisters, Brian, Brent, Brad, Gordie, Faye and Wendy as well as numerous relatives and friends. Barry was born and raised in Pembroke, Ontario and moved to Alberta in the late 70's where he had a long and successful career in the automotive industry.
