Bernice Smith 1949 - 2007 Bernice Smith, age 57, of Bouctouche, passed away at her residence on Saturday April 28th, 2007. Born in Bouctouche on July 11, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Martin and the late Yvonne (Née LeBlanc) Maillet. Bernice worked in patient care with the Kent Senior Home Care, and she belonged to the 7th Day Adventist Church, Moncton. Bernice is survived by one daughter, Sharon Smith of Scituate, Mass.; one son, David Smith (Nancy Veneau) of Saint-Antoine; two sisters, Annette Volpicelli (Joseph) of McKees Mills, Lucille Gagnon (Jean-Paul) of Saint-Antoine; four brothers, Yvon Maillet (Fernande), Emerie Maillet (Debbie) both of Dixon Point, Donald Maillet (Anna) of Canton, Mass., Aubrey LeBlanc of Bouctouche; two grand daughters, Monica, Makayla; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Stella Bolduc. Visitation will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche, on Wednesday May 2nd from 2 to 4:00 pm. Jack is survived by his sister Marjorie & her husband, Lloyd Wilson of Midland, and brother in law, Fred Peterson of Strathroy. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Peterson. Jack was a World War 2 Veteran with the Highland Light Infantry from Galt and is a member of the Ripley Legion, Kincardine United Church, and a 38 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Rita & Jack enjoyed many years as members of the Point Clark and Kincardine Seniors Clubs. He also held the honour of being a Gillwell Scouter. Jack loved people & laughter and will be dearly missed by his friends and the staff of Trillium Court; especially Herman Young and the members of the Tim Horton Romeo Club. Douglas W. Steeves Douglas W. Steeves, 84, of Villa Du Repos and formerly of Mill Road, Moncton, with his loving wife Betty at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 27, 2007 following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Norman and Gertrude (Smith) Steeves. Doug was the retired owner of Moncton Business Machines and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, camping, traveling, cutting wood and spending quality time at the family camp, however, his family came first. Doug will be sadly missed by his wife of over 62 years, Betty (Wade) Steeves; daughter, Carolyn Turpin, Moncton; sons, Donald (Linda), Riverview; Gregory (Nancy), Irishtown; granddaughters, Natasha Turpin, Angela Derrick (Joe); grandson, Dillon; daughter-in-law, Sharon Steeves (Late Richard 2001); sisters, Joan Bertelsen (Donald), Coady's; Margaret Foley (Robert), Orris Garland, both of Riverview; brother, Austin (Barbara), Dawson Settlement; sister-in-law, Doreen Wade, Moncton; several nieces and nephews. Sandra is survived by her husband, Calvin (this coming May, Sandra and Calvin would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary); children, Stephen (Lori) of Williamsburg, Joe (Linda) of Fredericton Junction, Karen (Robert) of Oromocto, Lori (Steve) of Lincoln, Michael (Stacey) of Rusagonis and Wendy (Dale) of McLeod Hill Road, Fredericton; 23 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one sister, Earline Cassidy of Fredericton; several brother and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
