POWERS, Helen "Nellie" (nee Shields) Peacefully, at Carlingview Manor, on Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Nellie Shields, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late Joseph Powers. STUART, Raymond (Ray) "Gas Pump Man" It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond (Ray) Stuart at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline (Foisy), his parents Robert and Sadie; brothers Sid (Marie McDonald), Alton, Gordon (Ghislaine); sister Bessie Morgan (Eli). Survived by brothers and sisters: Pauline Curley (Ken), Willa, Gerald, Ivan (Norma), Helen Saari, Virley Edwards (Harold), Ferne Carscadden; sons Ron (Barbara) and Rick (Louise); five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren to whom he was very fond of. GRAHAM, JAMES DUANE - James Duane Graham of Elmwood, husband of Jocelyn M. (Lavigne) Graham, passed away at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Friday, February 16, 2007, at the age of 65. Born at Maxwell, York County, he was a son of the late Frank and Freda (Watson) Graham. In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son, Daryl Graham (Stacie) of North Vancouver, BC; two brothers, Charles Graham (Judy) of Woodstock, and Lee Graham of Maxwell; a sister, Audrey Smith (Clifford) of Lincoln; his aunt and uncle, Clayton and Nellie Watson of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews. DUNN, THOMAS - The death of Thomas J. Dunn of 995 Grandview Ave., husband of the late Jeannette M. (Lavoie) Dunn, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007. Tom was born in Redmondville, N.B., a son of the late William and Annie (Sullivan) Dunn, and had resided in Saint John since 1946. He had been employed with John Flood & Sons as a foreman for many years. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Canadian Army in British Columbia. He loved gardening. He was predeceased by his three sons, Kenneth, Michael, and Brian. He is survived by two daughters, Doreen Harrison (Gordon) of Lower Sackville, N.S., and Pauline Winters (Stan) of Baxter's Corner; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. DICKSON, MYRA - Myra Dickson of Gladwyn passed away at St. Joseph Hotel Dieu Hospital on Friday, February 16th, 2007. Born in Bathurst on March 15th, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Murphy) Dempsey. She is survived by her daughter, Ann of Gladwyn; her son, Danny (Debbie) Dickson of Arthurette; her sister, Hazel Dressier of Newport News, Virginia; one grandson, Josh Campbell; and one granddaughter, Erin Dickson; several neices and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Dickson; her sisters, Eileen and Verna; and her brothers, Herbert and Gerald. She was a member of the Gladwyn Women's Institute and the Red Rapids C.W.L. Resting at Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock on Sunday, February 18th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. COREY, JUNE MARIE - passed away in Toronto on Thursday, February 15th, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Salisbury, NB June 23th, 1934. Predeceased by parents, William and Ethyl (Thorne) Corey; brother-in-law, Norman O'Brian; and step-mother, Hazel (Holt) Corey. Marie had taught at the Success Business College in Moncton and served as secretary of Eatons; CNR Moncton; Houghton College, New York State; Ontario Provincial Police; the Salvation Army; and volunteer work. She was active at Mt. Dennis Baptist Church, Weston Road, Toronto. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, composing hymns and writing poetry. Recently her heart's desire was to be with the Lord "in whose presence there is fullness of joy." She is survived by sisters, Bessie O'Brian and Maxine Corey of Salisbury; and brother, Canon Wallace Corey (Lynne) of Saint John; nieces and nephews, Patricia O'Brian, Norma O'Brian, Nancy O'Brian, Brenda Taylor, Bill O'Brian (Annette), Valerie Brooker (Paul), Jonathan Corey (Jessica), Andrew Corey (Liisa); great nephew, Nicholas O'Brian; great nieces, Kelsey O'Brian, Maggie and Katie Taylor; great-great nephew, Connor O'Brian; and friends, Constance Cudjo and Monica Spragge. ARSENAULT, GRETTA - Mrs. Gretta L. Arsenault, loving wife of Leonard Arsenault, passed away peacefully on Friday February 16, 2007 at the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1917 in Boiestown, NB she was the daughter of the late David and Myrtle (Foster) Carson. Gretta was a former member of Portland United Church and St. Mark's United Church, and various seniors groups. She was a loving mother and grandmother. McILLWRAITH, HILDA J. - The death of Hilda Josephine McIllwraith of 151 Prince Edward Street, Saint John, wife of the late William F. McIllwraith, occurred on February 15, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George and Desneiges (Daigle) Sudsbear. Hilda was with School District for over 20 years before her retirement in 1986. She is survived by two sons, R. Michael of Montreal and William G. (Linda) of Quispamsis, two daughters, Annette McIllwraith and Hilda Foster of Saint John, two brothers, George Sudsbear of Fort McMurray, AB and Bobby (Robert) Sudsbear of Saint John, three sisters, Pauline Gorham of Gorhams Bluff, Ruth Kobus of Vancouver, BC and Joan Short of the Kingston Peninsula, three grandsons, one granddaughter, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. LADEROUTE - the death of Martha Torrens Laderoute occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007, after a brief illness. Martha was born in Westfield on May 14, 1920, a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Buchanan) Greer. She enlisted in the C.W.A.C. during the Second World War and was attached to the signal corp. in Ottawa. Following her discharge at the end of the war she raised her family in Nerepis where she served on the School Board. In the 1960's she worked as a Psychiatric Nurses' Assistant at the Provincial Hospital (Centracare) in Saint John. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Laderoute; one son, Michael John; her brother, James L. Greer; and her two sisters, Margaret Connolly and Edith Greer. She is survived by her children, Jean Laderoute of Saint John, Thomas Laderoute (Lillian) of Nerepis, and Ann Connell (Brian) of Public Landing; seven grandchildren, Rose, Wendy, Eddie, Andrew, Donna, Heather, and Sean; and 14 great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation at the funeral home at the request of the deceased. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Church, Grand Bay, on Monday morning at ten o'clock. MCSORLEY, AGATHA MADELINE The passing of Miss. Agatha Madeline McSorley, of Fredericton, occurred on February 16, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 27, 1919 in Devon, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Lena (Reid) McSorley. Agatha was a clerk for the Department of Public Works prior to her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. Miss. McSorley is survived by one sister, Anna Daigle (Bernard) and many nieces and nephews. Gilles Albert 1981 - 2007 FREDERICTON, NB - Gilles Ernest Albert, of Burtts Corner (formerly of Shediac Bridge), passed away tragically on February 15th 2007 at the age of 25. Frederick (Ted) Randolph Gregory 1932 - 2007 The death of Ted Gregory, 74, occurred at the Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home on Wednesday, February 14th, 2007. Born in Riviere du Loup, Quebec, May 21st, 1932, he was the eldest son of the late Frank Roy and Julia Catherine (Tingley) Gregory. Ted retired as a conductor from CNR in 1989, after 34 years of service. He attended St. James Anglican Church, Moncton, had been a member of Tweedie Masonic Lodge, as well as a member of the CN Pensioners. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife, Joan; his daughter, Robin (Jim) Robinson of Toronto; his son, Randy (late Judith Hamel) of Riverside-Albert; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, Kaiya, Amethyste and Emily. He is also survived by one sister, Patti MacLeod (Wayne); two brothers, Terry and Robert (Audrey), all of Moncton. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Lois and Roberta; and his brothers, Paul and Murray. The family will be receiving visitors at St. James Anglican Church, 101 Fairview Drive, corner of St. George Boulevard on Monday, February 19th, 2007 from 1pm until the time of memorial service at 2pm. Roy Wilbur Hannah 1939 - 2007 WEST BRANCH, NB - Roy Wilbur Hannah passed away at Stella Maris Hospital, Thursday, February 15th, 2007 after a short illness. Born in West Branch on February 19th, 1939, he was the son of the late Colburn and Dorothy (Cail) Hannah. He owned and operated Roy's Radiator Repair in West Branch. He liked fishing and hunting, country music and square dancing and had been a volunteer fireman in Rexton for several years and was a past member of the Rexton Lion's Club. He will be missed by his daughter, Holly (Chris) of Moncton; two sons, Darrell (Brenda) of Rexton, Darrin (Karla) of West Branch; sister, Evelyn (Graham) of Dartmouth; brother, James (Shelly) of Moncton; three foster brothers, George and Donald of Ontario, Butch of USA; one granddaughter, Katie Grace; his ex wife, Carol Hannah; several nieces and nephews. Roy lived his life to the fullest and when asked how things were, he always responded with "just lovely". Honoring Roy's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting. Laurie Joseph LeBlanc Laurie Joseph LeBlanc 83, of Moncton passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, February 16th, 2007. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Eustache and Emma (Gaudet) LeBlanc. Laurie was a member of Notre Dame De Grace Roman Catholic Church. He served during the Second World War, his career was in the Canadian Armed Forces and upon retirement worked at Supply Depot #5 in Moncton, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. Most of all Laurie loved spending time with his family and summers at his cottage. He enjoyed gardening, walking and working around his house. Wilhelmina E. Levesque (Flett) It is with deep sadness that the family of Wilhelmina Emily Levesque (Flett) of Moncton announces her death on Thursday, February 15, 2007. She leaves behind her sister, Eleanor Mary Mollins (Flett) as well as several nieces and nephews. A very special neice Heather Tuck (Mollins) and a great nephew Matthew Wade Mollins. Besides her family, her passion was her profession. A Photographer, she worked in the family business, Flett's Studio. During the span of her career, she photographed such notable people as, President Ronald Regan, President Dwight Eisenhower, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen Mother and Her Majesty The Queen on several occasions. She was also a noted Concert Violinist and preformed for many audiences including visiting Royalty. Ridley: Rita Marie Helene, of Selby Surrounded by her family, Rita passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2007, in her 82nd year at Village Green Nursing Home, Selby, Ontario. In keeping with Rita’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date at the Kapuskasing Cemetery where she will be aid to rest beside her late husband August Ridley who predeceased her in 1986. Rita was predeceased by her first husband Hubert Lacroix in 1953. Rita is survived by 6 children, Alex Lacroix (Rose), Yellowknife, Jeannette Linscott (Hal), Kingston, Julie Ferguson (Marcel), United Arab Emirates, Bob Ridley (Kathy), Kapuskasing, Karen Irvine (Barry), Red Deer & Joan Mallette (Jessie), Kingston & predeceased by her infant son Johnny Lacroix. Loving grandmother to Melanie, Patricia, Kari, Robbie, Marianne, Gus & Amanda & special great grandmother of 7. Survived by sisters Lise, Leona, Georgina & Simone & predeceased by Josephine and brother George. Rita was born in the Northern Ontario Town of Val Rita. For more than 25 years she & August operated Echo Lake Lodge, a General Store and Gas Station on the Western Outskirts of Kapuskasing serving the village of Lepage, as well as travelers on the Trans Canada Highway. Following August’s death, Rita resided in Sudbury until she moved to Kingston 5 years ago to be near her family. ROBERTS, Wilfred Stanley - 1914-2007 - It is with joy in the memory of his life, that the family announces the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend Wilfred Stanley Roberts on Wednesday, February 14, a month short of his 93rd birthday. Wilfred was born in Wentworth County in southern Ontario on March 22, 1914. Upon graduation from McMaster University in 1934, he entered the teaching profession. He taught on Pelee Island, in Athens Ontario and finally in North Bay where he retired as principal of Chippewa Secondary High School in 1972. Wilf was predeceased by his wife and partner, Lydia, in 1973. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Marnie, Rick and Jackie and John and Barb as well as 8 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. He will be missed as well by his dear friend Thelma Patterson. A Private Family Graveside Memorial Service will be held in Millgrove, Ontario in the Spring. A Service will be held in the North Bay Area at a later date. If desired, donations may be made in Wilfred's name to Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Trinity United Church. DÉRY, M. Guy 1923 - 2007 Entouré de l'amour des siens, au CHSLD La Pommeraie de Bedford, le 14 février 2007 à l'âge de 83 ans, est décédé M. Guy Déry, époux de Mme Berthe St-Amour depuis 56 ans, demeurant à Bedford. M. Déry a fait ses études à Bedford et au Juniorat de Chambly. Député-Régistrateur et Régistrateur de la division de Missisquoi à Bedford (1966-1988). Passionné de la musique, en particulier de musique religieuse, il fut directeur de la chorale St-Damien de Bedford pendant 18 ans, par la suite, il toucha l'orgue pendant 35 ans à l'église. FOLEY, Kenneth Patrick - A man of strong moral fibre, unselfish in his generosity to others, passed away in Barrie on Wednesday February 14, 2007 in his 86th year. Honourary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband (for 61 1\2 years) and best friend of Peg. Dear father of Larry (Kathy), Tom (Dorothy), Stephen, Dan, Mike, Doug (Lorri) and brother of Irene Kitchen. Ken remained loyal to his rural Ottawa Valley roots. Steadfast in his religious convictions, he now joins his son David and grandson Peter, as well as his 3 brothers (Felix, Jay, and Ambrose) and 3 sisters (Veronica, Marcella, and Viola). Loving grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 3. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
