ALLAN, Mark David Mark was just 35 years old when his battle with leukemia ended at Langley Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2007. He was comfortable and surrounded by his wife, Leslie, his mother, Kathleen, and in-laws, John and Sharon. Mark graduated from Algonquin College in Radio Broadcasting in 1993. In 1995, Mark met Leslie Phillips. They were wed in 1998 and left Ottawa bound for the west coast to start their life together. Mark started working for the Keg in West Vancouver later that year. He advanced quickly and became General Manager of the Guilford Keg in 2002. His professional and sympathetic leadership was respected and appreciated by all who worked with him. Mark's true passion however was for his family, blessed with Audrey in 2002, and with Noah in 2005. His family was his driving force, giving him strength and courage to battle his disease. Mark's love for the game of golf was such a big part of his life; every chance he got he was out on the course. Thanks to the many physicians and nurses who cared for Mark at VGH and Langley Memorial, especially to Dr. Nantel, Dr.Tejpar, Dr. Wilson and Glenda. A very special thank you to Lindsay and Brandon for your incredible friendship, support and compassion. BOUDREAU, Mark Edgar 1954-2007 Peacefully surrounded by family at the Ottawa General Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2007, Mark Boudreau, age 52. Deeply saddened are those he leaves behind - his son Matthew, mother Patricia Boudreau (nee Normandeau), sister Elaine, brother-in-law Gerry Ouellette, the mother of his son Gail Thorpe, and many relatives and friends. We hope he is now reunited with his father: the late Philip Boudreau and his brothers Donald and Philip (Jr.). Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Mark was raised just outside of Sudbury, Ontario, where he developed a lifelong passion for hockey and baseball (later he was an avid golfer). A graduate of York University (BA) and the University of Victoria where he received his master's in public administration (MPA), he was always motivated by the next challenge and a sense of adventure. During his life he lived in many different places and travelled extensively. When he embarked on his career, he worked in government, at the Federal Department of Finance as an economist, at the office of former Liberal MP Jim Peterson as a legislative assistant and at Queen's Park in Toronto. In the late 1980s, he served as a senior economic and trade policy analyst for the Liberal's National Caucus Research Bureau, years later returning to Parliament Hill as a senior policy advisor to the former Minister of National Revenue, Elinor Caplan. Many years were spent working in the private sector in different positions, including director and later on vice-president of public and government relations at the Certified General Accountants' Association of Canada and as senior director, policy and research at the Canadian Manufacturers Association. At the time of his passing, he was working for the Government of Nunavut as director of fiscal policy in the Department of Finance. He taught at Algonquin College in Ottawa, wrote for many professional journals and served on numerous committees and boards including the Advisory Board of the National Press Club. In 2006 he was honoured to win a seat on Iqualuit (Nunavut) City Council. Along the way he found many friends and worked with many wonderful and accomplished colleagues. Above all, Mark valued family and was a proud and nurturing Dad to Matthew. All of us will miss his smile, good heart and tremendous courage. We take pride and comfort that he lived a full and interesting life to the very end. The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Wilkinson, his family physician for many years, and the specialists in Ottawa, Toronto and elsewhere who took a special interest in his case as he searched for answers about his medical condition. Our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Emergency Department and ICU at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care of Mark and kind support to his family in his final hours. HESSIAN, Beverley Ann (nee Burgess) Born April 14th, 1945 at Brampton, ON; died February 13th 2007 at Barrie, ON following a courageous and inspirational 14 year battle with cancer. Bev was the beloved wife and Guardian Angel of J.L. (Les) Hessian; Stepmother to David (Jennifer) and Tony (Cyndi) Hessian; Step-Grandmother to Justin, Morgan, Marshall and Lucas Hessian. Bev is predeceased by sisters Joann Bartley and Barbara Burgess; She is survived by brothers William (Pam) and John (Marion) Burgess both of Edmonton AB. Bev conveys her heartfelt thanks to special friends, Pierre and Gilda Neill, Del and Joyce Buck, Jim and Fran McNamee, Mike and Faye Mitchell, as well as Andy and Linda Hacinsky. Their love, friendship and support greatly enriched her life and struggle. Bev was a volunteer facilitator with Barrie's Breast Cancer Support Group the "Angels of Hope". She cherished each opportunity to offer positive support and motivation to other cancer survivors both within the Support Group and those survivors she encountered in her all-too-frequent visits to the RVH Oncology Department during the past nine years. Bev also sends her heartfelt appreciation to her "sister" Angels of Hope members and to the RVH Oncology Department staff and volunteers for their years of humane, compassionate services as well as the personal support and friendship provided to her and Les. Many unknowingly provided her the strength and motivation to continue her struggle with cancer thereby contributing directly to her longevity and enhanced quality of life. She promises that she will now watch over you. DUNN, THOMAS - The death of Thomas J. Dunn of 995 Grandview Ave., husband of the late Jeannette M. (Lavoie) Dunn, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007. Tom was born in Redmondville, N.B., a son of the late William and Annie (Sullivan) Dunn, and had resided in Saint John since 1946. He had been employed with John Flood & Sons as a foreman for many years. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Canadian Army in British Columbia. He loved gardening. He was predeceased by his three sons, Kenneth, Michael, and Brian. He is survived by two daughters, Doreen Harrison (Gordon) of Lower Sackville, N.S., and Pauline Winters (Stan) of Baxter's Corner; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. COREY, JUNE MARIE - passed away in Toronto on Thursday, February 15th, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Salisbury, NB June 23th, 1934. Predeceased by parents, William and Ethyl (Thorne) Corey; brother-in-law, Norman O'Brian; and step-mother, Hazel (Holt) Corey. Marie had taught at the Success Business College in Moncton and served as secretary of Eatons; CNR Moncton; Houghton College, New York State; Ontario Provincial Police; the Salvation Army; and volunteer work. She was active at Mt. Dennis Baptist Church, Weston Road, Toronto. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, composing hymns and writing poetry. Recently her heart's desire was to be with the Lord "in whose presence there is fullness of joy." LADEROUTE - the death of Martha Torrens Laderoute occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007, after a brief illness. Martha was born in Westfield on May 14, 1920, a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Buchanan) Greer. She enlisted in the C.W.A.C. during the Second World War and was attached to the signal corp. in Ottawa. Following her discharge at the end of the war she raised her family in Nerepis where she served on the School Board. In the 1960's she worked as a Psychiatric Nurses' Assistant at the Provincial Hospital (Centracare) in Saint John. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Laderoute; one son, Michael John; her brother, James L. Greer; and her two sisters, Margaret Connolly and Edith Greer. She is survived by her children, Jean Laderoute of Saint John, Thomas Laderoute (Lillian) of Nerepis, and Ann Connell (Brian) of Public Landing; seven grandchildren, Rose, Wendy, Eddie, Andrew, Donna, Heather, and Sean; and 14 great-grandchildren. Frederick (Ted) Randolph Gregory 1932 - 2007 The death of Ted Gregory, 74, occurred at the Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home on Wednesday, February 14th, 2007. Born in Riviere du Loup, Quebec, May 21st, 1932, he was the eldest son of the late Frank Roy and Julia Catherine (Tingley) Gregory. Ted retired as a conductor from CNR in 1989, after 34 years of service. He attended St. James Anglican Church, Moncton, had been a member of Tweedie Masonic Lodge, as well as a member of the CN Pensioners. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife, Joan; his daughter, Robin (Jim) Robinson of Toronto; his son, Randy (late Judith Hamel) of Riverside-Albert; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, Kaiya, Amethyste and Emily. He is also survived by one sister, Patti MacLeod (Wayne); two brothers, Terry and Robert (Audrey), all of Moncton. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Lois and Roberta; and his brothers, Paul and Murray. The family will be receiving visitors at St. James Anglican Church, 101 Fairview Drive, corner of St. George Boulevard on Monday, February 19th, 2007 from 1pm until the time of memorial service at 2pm. Roy Wilbur Hannah 1939 - 2007 WEST BRANCH, NB - Roy Wilbur Hannah passed away at Stella Maris Hospital, Thursday, February 15th, 2007 after a short illness. Born in West Branch on February 19th, 1939, he was the son of the late Colburn and Dorothy (Cail) Hannah. He owned and operated Roy's Radiator Repair in West Branch. He liked fishing and hunting, country music and square dancing and had been a volunteer fireman in Rexton for several years and was a past member of the Rexton Lion's Club. He will be missed by his daughter, Holly (Chris) of Moncton; two sons, Darrell (Brenda) of Rexton, Darrin (Karla) of West Branch; sister, Evelyn (Graham) of Dartmouth; brother, James (Shelly) of Moncton; three foster brothers, George and Donald of Ontario, Butch of USA; one granddaughter, Katie Grace; his ex wife, Carol Hannah; several nieces and nephews. Roy lived his life to the fullest and when asked how things were, he always responded with "just lovely". Honoring Roy's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting. Funeral will be held at the Zion Presbyterian Church, West Branch, Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 at 2 pm with internment in the church cemetery. Laurie Joseph LeBlanc Laurie Joseph LeBlanc 83, of Moncton passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, February 16th, 2007. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Eustache and Emma (Gaudet) LeBlanc. Laurie was a member of Notre Dame De Grace Roman Catholic Church. He served during the Second World War, his career was in the Canadian Armed Forces and upon retirement worked at Supply Depot #5 in Moncton, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. Most of all Laurie loved spending time with his family and summers at his cottage. He enjoyed gardening, walking and working around his house. Wilhelmina E. Levesque (Flett) It is with deep sadness that the family of Wilhelmina Emily Levesque (Flett) of Moncton announces her death on Thursday, February 15, 2007. Born in Fredericton, she was the daughter of William H. Flett and Emily M. Flett (Gauvin) and the wife of Valen Levesque. She leaves behind her sister, Eleanor Mary Mollins (Flett) as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Valen, her parents William and Emily as well as her sisters, Eva Flett, Alice Flett and Rosella Bourque (Emile), her brothers, William and Charles. A very special neice Heather Tuck (Mollins) and a great nephew Matthew Wade Mollins. Besides her family, her passion was her profession. A Photographer, she worked in the family business, Flett's Studio. During the span of her career, she photographed such notable people as, President Ronald Regan, President Dwight Eisenhower, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen Mother and Her Majesty The Queen on several occasions. She was also a noted Concert Violinist and preformed for many audiences including visiting Royalty. Eileen Marie Little It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and sister, Eileen Marie Little on February 15, 2007 following a lengthy illness. She met everyday with strength and courage and lived each day to the fullest. Eileen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ken Little; and their four children, Bev Little of Moncton, Bob (Line) Little of Moncton, Karen (Roland) Robichaud of Moncton and Patti (Gene) Mitton of Riverview. As well as her best friend and sister Marilyn Lane her brother, Bill (Pat) Lane of Dieppe. She is also survived by her four special grandchildren who made her smile everytime she saw them, Jeremy and Matthew Mitton and Mary and Peter Robichaud; also by her constant companion Tia Maria Little. She was predeceased by her parents, Judge William F. Lane and Mary Lane. She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church. She is at peace now and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. At Eileen's request there is no viewing at the funeral home.
