Daughter of the late Calixte and of the late Marie (née Beaulieu) Viau. Wife of the late Roland Brunet, predeceased in 1985. Loving mother of Ernest Brunet (Sharon) of Guelph, Hector Brunet (Valeda) of Gatineau, QC, Marie Brown (Thomas) of Little Harbour, Newfoundland, Estelle Gauthier (Patrick) of Burlington and Dennis Brunet (Sue) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her son Euclide. Dear sister of Alcide Viau (late Denise) of Noëlville. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Telesphore (Leonie of Noëlville), Elise Dionne (late Ludger), Amanda Seguin (late Eugene), Rosanna Langlois (late Ted) and Jeanne Mongeon (late Leo). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren, her 18 great-grandchildren, her 1 great-great-grandchild, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends at the St-David's Parish Hall, Noëlville, Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, February 19th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in St-David's Church, Noëlville. WELLS, Clayton 1922-2007 Paisiblement au Foyer Connaught à North Hatley, à l'aube du 6 février 2007, est décédé Clayton. Clayton aurait célébré ses 85 ans prochainement, maintenant il a rejoint son épouse bien-aimée, Lucille Gagné. Clayton a travaillé pour Bell Canada et il en était un fier pionnier. Durant sa jeunesse, Clayton était un avide cycliste, son comanditaire principal était Harold Munkittrick. Après sa retraite, il aimait jouer au golf et voyager, avec Lucille, chez la parenté et des amis. OBITUARY LISA LYNN BISSETT At the age of thirty-seven, of Boston, died at her home, surrounded by family and friends, on February 13, 2007. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Matthew McLeod, parents Gerald and Kathleen Bissett, of Waterloo, ON, sister Tara Bissett, of Montreal, QC, brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Todd, Amy and Gavin Bissett of Shanghai, China, grandmother, Conny Landmann of Hanover, NH, aunt, uncle and cousins, Meryl, Jack, Ethan, Bonnie and Meredith French of Cos Cob, CT and an extensive community of family and friends from many countries on several continents. Over the course of her graceful six year battle with breast cancer, Lisa worked as a strategy professional for McKinsey and Co. and Clean Harbors, started the floral design business, Blooming Color and volunteered at the Tufts-New England Medical Center. In addition, she continued her international travels including trips to Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, China and most recently to the Galapagos Islands with Matt last September. Prior to her diagnosis, she earned a bachelor's degree in geological engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, ON, a master's degree in hydrogeology from the Colorado School of Mines in Boulder, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, Lisa requested that memorial donations to the following organizations be considered: the National Breast Cancer Coalition in Washington, DC, the Massachusetts chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Wellness Community in Newton, MA. ALLAN, Mark David Mark was just 35 years old when his battle with leukemia ended at Langley Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2007. He was comfortable and surrounded by his wife, Leslie, his mother, Kathleen, and in-laws, John and Sharon. Mark graduated from Algonquin College in Radio Broadcasting in 1993. In 1995, Mark met Leslie Phillips. They were wed in 1998 and left Ottawa bound for the west coast to start their life together. Mark started working for the Keg in West Vancouver later that year. He advanced quickly and became General Manager of the Guilford Keg in 2002. His professional and sympathetic leadership was respected and appreciated by all who worked with him. Mark's true passion however was for his family, blessed with Audrey in 2002, and with Noah in 2005. His family was his driving force, giving him strength and courage to battle his disease. Mark's love for the game of golf was such a big part of his life; every chance he got he was out on the course. Thanks to the many physicians and nurses who cared for Mark at VGH and Langley Memorial, especially to Dr. Nantel, Dr.Tejpar, Dr. Wilson and Glenda. A very special thank you to Lindsay and Brandon for your incredible friendship, support and compassion. BOUDREAU, Mark Edgar 1954-2007 Peacefully surrounded by family at the Ottawa General Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2007, Mark Boudreau, age 52. Deeply saddened are those he leaves behind - his son Matthew, mother Patricia Boudreau (nee Normandeau), sister Elaine, brother-in-law Gerry Ouellette, the mother of his son Gail Thorpe, and many relatives and friends. We hope he is now reunited with his father: the late Philip Boudreau and his brothers Donald and Philip (Jr.). Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Mark was raised just outside of Sudbury, Ontario, where he developed a lifelong passion for hockey and baseball (later he was an avid golfer). A graduate of York University (BA) and the University of Victoria where he received his master's in public administration (MPA), he was always motivated by the next challenge and a sense of adventure. During his life he lived in many different places and travelled extensively. When he embarked on his career, he worked in government, at the Federal Department of Finance as an economist, at the office of former Liberal MP Jim Peterson as a legislative assistant and at Queen's Park in Toronto. In the late 1980s, he served as a senior economic and trade policy analyst for the Liberal's National Caucus Research Bureau, years later returning to Parliament Hill as a senior policy advisor to the former Minister of National Revenue, Elinor Caplan. Many years were spent working in the private sector in different positions, including director and later on vice-president of public and government relations at the Certified General Accountants' Association of Canada and as senior director, policy and research at the Canadian Manufacturers Association. At the time of his passing, he was working for the Government of Nunavut as director of fiscal policy in the Department of Finance. He taught at Algonquin College in Ottawa, wrote for many professional journals and served on numerous committees and boards including the Advisory Board of the National Press Club. In 2006 he was honoured to win a seat on Iqualuit (Nunavut) City Council. Along the way he found many friends and worked with many wonderful and accomplished colleagues. Above all, Mark valued family and was a proud and nurturing Dad to Matthew. All of us will miss his smile, good heart and tremendous courage. We take pride and comfort that he lived a full and interesting life to the very end. The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Wilkinson, his family physician for many years, and the specialists in Ottawa, Toronto and elsewhere who took a special interest in his case as he searched for answers about his medical condition. Our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Emergency Department and ICU at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care of Mark and kind support to his family in his final hours. A Service in Memory of Mark will be held at the Tabaret Hall Chapel (University of Ottawa) on Thursday April 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. Details available at Kelly Funeral Homes. BUFFAM, Harold E. Peacefully at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Thursday February 15th, 2007 Harold E. Buffam (retired prominent businessman in the Perth area, 20 year associate of Gale Real Estate, 60 year member of the Masonic Order and the Shrine, faithful servant for many years to St. Paul's United Church and dedicated member for many years of the Perth Curling Club) at the age of 93. Harold was predeceased in March 2006 by his beloved wife Erma E. HESSIAN, Beverley Ann (nee Burgess) Born April 14th, 1945 at Brampton, ON; died February 13th 2007 at Barrie, ON following a courageous and inspirational 14 year battle with cancer. Bev was the beloved wife and Guardian Angel of J.L. (Les) Hessian; Stepmother to David (Jennifer) and Tony (Cyndi) Hessian; Step-Grandmother to Justin, Morgan, Marshall and Lucas Hessian. Bev is predeceased by sisters Joann Bartley and Barbara Burgess; She is survived by brothers William (Pam) and John (Marion) Burgess both of Edmonton AB. Bev conveys her heartfelt thanks to special friends, Pierre and Gilda Neill, Del and Joyce Buck, Jim and Fran McNamee, Mike and Faye Mitchell, as well as Andy and Linda Hacinsky. Their love, friendship and support greatly enriched her life and struggle. Bev was a volunteer facilitator with Barrie's Breast Cancer Support Group the "Angels of Hope". She cherished each opportunity to offer positive support and motivation to other cancer survivors both within the Support Group and those survivors she encountered in her all-too-frequent visits to the RVH Oncology Department during the past nine years. Bev also sends her heartfelt appreciation to her "sister" Angels of Hope members and to the RVH Oncology Department staff and volunteers for their years of humane, compassionate services as well as the personal support and friendship provided to her and Les. Many unknowingly provided her the strength and motivation to continue her struggle with cancer thereby contributing directly to her longevity and enhanced quality of life. She promises that she will now watch over you.
