Marie-Ange Synnot Numainville 1922-2007 au Centre d’hébergement de Coteau-du-Lac, le 1er février 2007, après un courageux combat contre le cancer, sereinement et entourée des siens qu’elle aimait beaucoup, est décédée Mme Marie-Ange Synnott Numainville, âgée de 85 ans. Elle était native de l’Anse au Griffon (Gaspésie), elle fut précédée dans le décès par son mari bien-aimé, Pierre ainsi que par trois soeurs et quatre frères. Lui survivent ses deux enfants qu’elle chérissait: Suzanne (Robert) et Sylvain (Sandy), et ses petits-enfants qu’elle adorait, Charlaine, Maude, Alexandre et Cindy, sa belle-soeur Francine, ses frères Arthur (Yvette), Jean-Guy (Francine), Rommuald (Cécile) et Jean-Paul, ses soeurs, Germaine, Rose-Anna, Rose Délima (Réal) et Martine (James), ainsi que de nombreux parents et amis. Il n’y aura pas d’exposition au salon funéraire selon ses volontés. Les funérailles auront lieu en présence des cendres en l’église St-Ignace, 339, chemin du Fleuve, Coteau-du-Lac, le samedi 17 février 2007 à 14h. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Ann and Ray Cassin, Patricia and Donald MacDonald, Kevin and Meredith Mackin, Maureen and Dave Rehel, Agnes and Thomas Lindsay, Cathy and Ken Laurent, Michael and Tanja Mackin, Gerard and Micheline Mackin. Adored grandmother (Grannie) to Sean (Jana). Tanya (Udo), Gerard, Andrea, Erin, Patricia (David), Heidi, Mary, Meagan, Allan, Grant, Timothy, Andrew, Sarah and Kevin. Proud great grandmother to Ella. Born in Lambeth, England, Agnes came to Canada in 1946 and faithfully served her Lord with volunteer work, which she continued upon her return to England in 1996, for which the Lord has welcomed her into His kingdom with a greeting of Well done, oh good and faithful servant! Predeceased by brothers Ted and Bill and daughter Jeannie, she leaves to grieve, her children Judy (Rick), Jacquie (Duan), Ted (Tsenta), Tony (Micheline) and Richard (Johanne), along with 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in Canada, as well as brother Dick and his three children in England, and nieces and nephews in Australia. OBITUARY ELIZABETH REILLY (nee Miller) August 15, 1921 - January 30, 2007 Elizabeth (Betty) Reilly passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore in Calgary, AB at the age of eighty-five years. She was with her immediate family when she passed away. Betty was born in Montreal, QC and attended MacDonald College and received her teaching certificate. She taught elementary students in the Montreal area for over 30 years and retired in 1980. Betty loved the outdoors and her happiest times were at the family hobby farm in Brookbury, QC where she enjoyed gardening, needlework, painting, and visiting with friends and family. Betty was predeceased by her husband Frank, eldest son Peter and sister Joyce Ounsworth. She is survived by her son Steven (Teresa); and grandchildren Nicholas and Christopher, of Calgary, AB; and Peter's daughter Zoe, of Australia. She is also survived by her sister Carol McCreight; and by nieces and nephews Delphine McCreight, Nancy Kellenberger, Michael McCreight, Dick Ounsworth, Don Ounsworth and Jim Ounsworth. The family would like to thank the staff at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore for the kind and compassionate care that they gave to Betty. OBITUARY JACK SCHOLEFIELD November 1915-February 2007 Jack Scholefield died peacefully at home in Senneville, Quebec on February 7, 2007. He was born near Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England in 1915 and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1925. He served as a pilot in the RCAF during World War II and later started Laurentide Aviation near Montreal in 1946. Laurentide Aviation is still operating in Les Cedres, Quebec. He was active in the Air Transport Association of Canada, serving a year as Chairman and later as an Honorary Life Member. Jack was also a member of the Montreal Board of Trade, The St. James Club and The Senneville Yacht Club. He is survived by wife Ann and daughters, Catherine and Jacqueline, brothers Robert and Donald, sister Audrey and grandchildren Tor, Amanda, Sofia, and James. SHAW, Dr. Leonard Bernard. Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Montreal on Thursday, February 8, 2007. He was in his seventy-nine year. MacEWAN, Elizabeth Turner 16 July 1926 - 3 February 2007 Elizabeth Turner MacEwan (nee Turner Bone) passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on February 3rd at age 80. She is survived by her husband Douglas MacEwan, her children Joanne (Dennis Conrad), Elspeth (Maureen Kellerman), Eleanor (Gordon Weibe) and James (Gwen Allison), and her eight grandchildren: Laura, Grace, Michael, Rachel, Alison, Jack, Stephen and Sarah, and her brother John Turner-Bone. She is predeceased by her sister Margaret Turner Watt. Elizabeth was born in Ottawa and raised in Montreal. She married and taught kindergarten until she had her children. Elizabeth dedicated countless hours to her community. She served the Council of Women of Winnipeg, Provincial Council of Women of Manitoba and The National Council of Women of Canada, as well as The Girl Guides of Canada, McGill Graduates Society - Manitoba Branch and The YWCA and Worship Committee of Westworth United Church. Her husband's radiology career prospered with her enduring support. With Douglas, Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, sailing, skiing and supporting Manitoba's performing arts. The interment will be held in the spring at the MacEwan family plot, in Martintown, Ontario. SCHMIDT, Karen Aged 40 was taken from her family and friends unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7th, 2007. She is survived by her mother Rachelle Bowden (Charles), father Victor Schmidt (Lorretta), sister Monique Smith (Chris), niece Makenna Smith (her pride and joy) and her many step-brothers and sisters and their children. Ken gave her life to the care of children through Early Childhood Education and will be missed by all those she touched during her teachings. She will also be greatly missed by the many friends she made over the short span of her life. Whenever you spoke to Karen, your day became instantly brighter and you felt love from the bottom of her heart. TOLSON, Audrey Sheila (nee Fowkes) Peacefully at home 7 February 2007 in the loving care of her family. Born 10 May 1921 in Altrincham, England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Predeceased by her husband George Bernard and her mother Vera Idle and her sister Patricia. Loving mother of Paul (May) and Shaun (Ann), grandmother to Gregory, Bianca and Kimberley. She will be missed by her family, step-granddaughter Stephanie (Matt), little Emily, her many nieces and nephews and also her bridge-playing friends at the Gloucester South Senior's Centre. Over the years, employee of Simpson's (Halifax), The Ottawa Credit Bureau, H.J. MacFarland Construction (Picton and Ottawa) and Shoppers World (Brampton). The family would like to thank Dr. Terry Brennan, the staff of the Ottawa Cancer Clinic at both the Civic and General Campuses, and also the Ottawa Community Care Access Centre for the wonderful care and in home help that was provided.
