Beloved husband of Margaret, loving father of Scott (Carolyn), Dayne (Becky) and Meghann (Mark). Dear grandpa of Chantal and Gerrod. Survived also by a sister Dianna (Ken), mother Frances and special brother-in-law David. Ron was a Niagara Regional Police officer for 30 years. STEWART, Alan Donald - Al was born in Toronto and was the eldest son of the late John Cecil and Donalda (Hogan) Stewart and brother of Douglas (predeceased). Al started working at Gliddens Paint Ltd. in 1940. He then went to serve his country in Italy and Holland during World War II and then returned to Gliddens until his retirement. His love for the outdoors brought him to Haliburton where he hunted and fished with his friends. Al will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Trudy, by nieces and nephew; Katie (Earl) Nicholson, Don Stewart (Heather), Jennifer Stewart (Craig), and great uncle to Jill and Jessica Nicholson. Ferguson, Alan Reid - Aug.18, 1938 - Aug. 17, 2006. After a long and gallant battle with cancer, Alan left us in the early hours of last Thursday morning at Haliburton Hospital. He is survived by his wife and best friend Diana (nee Berwick), sisters Jane Bolton (Robert) of Aurora Ontario, Heather Moeser (Robert) of Austin Texas, a niece, five nephews, three great nieces and eleven great nephews - all of whom had the opportunity to say goodbye. He was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Bertha and his sister Peggy. Alan had a long and varied career with IBM Canada and, after taking early retirement, moved to Haliburton with Diana. He was elected to two terms as a municipal councillor and was engaged in many community activities as a volunteer. He will be greatly missed by his family, a multitude of friends and golden retrievers Barney and County. Alan<9>s was a complete life - lived with grace and humour. LUBASZKA, Patricia Gail (nee Helmer) - Peacefully, at home, with her family by her side, on Friday, August 18, 2006, at the age of 66. Dad was the most giving father, father-in-law and grandfather anyone could ask for. He was a Second World War veteran and also a very respected shift boss and relieving general foreman during his thirty nine years at Inco. Dad was always grateful to them for the financial stability afforded to him during those years. McKINNON, Walter Lindsay - The family announces with sorrow, the passing of Walter Lindsay McKinnon, 85 years, on August 18, 2006 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Sudbury. Survived by wife of 59 years Aileen (nee Woodhouse) sons Douglas (partner Oscar) of Cancun; John (wife Sue) or Garson, James (wife Donna) of Capreol, daughters Donna (husband Wilfred Cyr) of Sudbury and Marilyn (husband Donald Laberge) of Aylmer PQ. Sadly missed by grandchildren Brianne, Craig, Kevin, Colleen, Logan, James, Brendon and Allen. Dear brother of Florence (Sannich, BC); Dorothy (Mississauga, Ont) Douglas (wife Myrle) (Hornpayne, Ont); Myrtle (Arnprior, Ont) James (Shirley) (Elliot Lake, Ont) and Clarence, John and Eileen all predeceased. Walter was born in Jellico, Ontario May 2, 1921. He served as a tail gunner in WWII. He was shot down over France in 1943 and remained a POW until May of 1945. With his return to Canada after the war, he met and married his wife Aileen Woodhouse in June 1947. His love of wildlife and the outdoors led to a career as a Game Warden in the Parry Sound and Geraldton areas. He later joined the Federal Government and worked for the Department of Indian Affairs in North Bay and Thunder Bay before transferring to Sudbury in 1966. Walter retired from the Civil Service in 1983 to pursue his hobbies of duck hunting, R/C model airplanes, building guitars and wood working. Private family funeral service in the R.J. TAYLOR, Mary Lee - Formerly of Massie and Appleby Place, Burlington slept away peacefully at the West Oak Village, Oakville on Saturday, August 19, 2006 in her 90th year. The former Mary Lee Hemstock was the beloved wife of the late Melville “Pat“ Taylor.
