MEEHAN, ROBERT J. - The death of Robert John Meehan of New Line, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on August 19, 2006 at the age of 93. Born in Donegall, Ireland he was a son of the late Robert and Adelaide (Buchanan) Meehan and the husband of the late Marjorie A.(Cunningham) Meehan who passed away in 1992. Robert was a Veteran of WW II, a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and worked as a mechanic at the Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1978. He is survived by his daughters, Carole Patrick (Ronald) of Point Au Baril, ON, Kathleen Hodgin (Clifford) of New Line, Judy Nickerson (Gerry) of St. Albert, AB and Eileen Elder (Donald) of Riverbank; son, Lloyd Meehan (Carmen) of Jeffries Corner; thirteen grandchildren; four great granddaughters; sister, Isabel Cunningham of Jeffries Corner; brother, Hugh Meehan (Elsie) of Smiths Creek; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Robertson, Sarah McMackin, Eileen MacDonald, Molly Mallory and Adelaide Sherwood; and brothers, Dan, Moses, James and Andrew Meehan. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433- 2133) on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. Sussex Branch #20 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute on Monday evening at 6:45PM. DION, Jeannine Ester (née Pilon) - The family announces with sorrow her death Friday August 18th, 2006, in Sudbury, at the age of 75 years. Daughter of the late Thomas and of the late Annonciade (née Hayes) Pilon. Beloved wife of 57 years to Jules Dion of Sudbury. Loving mother of Dan (Laura), Jean-Guy “John” (Debbie), Diane Tarnopolsky (Dennis) all of Sudbury and Andy (Gail) of Hamilton. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chantal, Julie, Ryan and Julien. Jeannine will be remembered by her devotion to her family and her incredible work ethics. Mom (a.k.a. Grandma) was the most genuine, caring, thoughtful and accommodating person that anyone could ever know. She was a very independent, hard working, extremely proud person that everyone loved. At 75 years old, our ANGEL led a very busy lifestyle, running family businesses until her passing. Dining out was her style of cooking. Her pleasures were card playing, listening to country music and attentively taking care of her family's laundry. Mayme Luella Johnson 1909 - 2006 Mayme Luella (Shaffer) Johnson passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the age of 97 years. Born in Berry Mills on March 10, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Steeves) Shaffer. Mayme was an adherent of First Moncton United Baptist Church and a member of the Frank H. Tingley Order of the Eastern Star #5. Mayme will be sadly missed by her daughter, Janet (Eugene) Orr; and her five sons, Lorimer, Sterling (Elizabeth), Dennis (Nancy), Michael (Linda), and Jim (Marla), all from the Greater Moncton area; daughter-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Moncton; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Verla (Robert) Ferguson of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mayme will also be sadly missed by her caregiver companions, Simonne and Sharon. Mayme was predeceased by Gerald, her husband of 74 years; four sons, George, Frederick, Donald and Gerald; and two brothers, Clifford and Floyd. No visitation by request. JACKSON, Kenneth Gordon, P. Eng. (1947 2006) - Ken died peacefully at home in North Bay on Saturday August 19, 2006. He was much loved and will be terribly missed by his wife Beth, children Shane, Jim, David and his daughter-in-law Liza, his grandchildren Jesse, Susana, and Kendra, brothers Jim and Bob, and a whole crew of relatives. Ken's joie de vivre, his generous fun-loving spirit, his honesty, wisdom, and wit, won him lifelong friends wherever he lived and worked. Ken's career as an engineer in the mining industry took him across Canada and beyond. In Sudbury, Timmins, Yellowknife, Pickerel River, the Gaspé, Labrador City, Elliot Lake, Tunisia, Turkey, Peru, Chile and North Bay, friends will miss his smiling face. Ken was a fine athlete and outdoorsmen, his accomplishments in curling, on & off the ice, will be long remembered. REID, John Jack Gilchrist (Veteran W.W.II, R.C.A.F.,) (Chef H.R.C. for 25 years) - Died peacefully in his sleep in his 89th year at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, on Saturday August 19, 2006. Loving son of the late Albert Reid and Edna (nee Stogdill). Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth B. Reid (nee Stewart). Much loved father of Jack Reid Jr. & wife Vilda of Orillia.
