OHAYON, Marian (nee Sons). Surrounded by her family, after a most courageous and hard fought battle with cancer, on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Daughter of the late Nat and the late Clara Sons. Beloved wife and best friend of Michel. Treasured and adored mother of Jonathan. Marian will be deeply missed by Myrna Perlman and Sue Tepper who were always by her side and in her heart during her illness. BRYDGES, Edward "Ted" Joseph July 4, 1947 - May 28, 2006 Ted was the owner and founder for 30 years of Brydges Mechanical Services, Pine Grove. He was a life long member of The Arnprior Golf Club and a member of the board of directors, Arnprior Golf Club and a member of "The Ringers". Passed away accidentally at home on the morning of May 28, 2006, Ted Brydges of RR 2 Arnprior in his 59th year. Beloved son of Mrs. Jessie (Peat) Brydges and the late Walter James Brydges. BURMAN, Howard Cmdr. (ret'd), RCN Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Kingston on May 27, 2006. Howard Walter Burman, beloved husband of Caroline Farrell (Seidl) and the late Constance Bennett, his first wife. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Marion (Howard) Burman. Howard is survived by his sisters, Lillian Green of Ottawa and Velma McClelland (Jim) of Trail, B.C., and brother Kervyn (June) of Campbell's Bay, Que. Most fondly remembered by many friends and family members including his mother-in-law, Frieda Seidl of Toronto. Howard was born in Davidson, Que. on October 19, 1930. In 1950, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, later graduating from the University of New Brunswick (B. Sc.) and Queen's University (M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering). His naval postings took him to several locations nationally and to the U.S.A. and the United Kingdom. During his career, he taught for a time at Royal Military College and served on several NATO committees. Following retirement, he worked as an engineering consultant. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Howard's name may be made to The Palliative Care Unit of St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, the Kingston Humane Society Endowment Fund, or the charity of your choice. O'NEIL, Norman A. Aug. 6, 1926 - May 24, 2006 After a courageous battle with ALS, Norman passed to eternal life. He died as he had lived - a gentle, kind and compassionate man. Geraldine is survived by two sons Gerald Mooney (Karen) and John Mooney (Diane) all of Wirral, 5 grandchildren; Alana, Jerry, Rickey, Roger and Leanne, 3 great grandchildren; Brandon, Joshua and Jorja, several nieces & nephews. Geraldine was an owner operator of Mooney's General Store in Wirral and was a member of the Hospital Aid, Red Cross, Wirral Community, and Women's Institute. COYLE, EDITH VERNA "EDE" It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edith V. Coyle at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on May 28, 2006. Edith was born on June 21, 1914 in Southampton, NB to the late Velma (Good) and Verne Murphy. She is survived by her son, Bob Coyle (Maxine); grandson, Michael Coyle (Donna); granddaughter, Wendy Coyle; chosen granddaughter, Connie Woodside; great granddaughters, Brittany and Megan Coyle, all of Fredericton; her brother, Daniel Carruthers (Jane) of Moncton; chosen brother, Clifton Good of Connecticut, U.S.A; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her husband, David S. Coyle; and her brothers, Barry Good, Vaughn Murphy and Gerald Murphy. Ede was employed as a saleslady of ladies' fashions for many years at Creaghan's, Curl's and Vey's and then managed Tower Luggage and Leather until her retirement. She loved to knit, read and travel, but her true love was spending time with her family. Although there will be no visitation, a Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Arnold "Red" MacMillan 1929-2006 LOWER CAPE, NB - Arnold "Red" MacMillan, 76, of Lower Cape, NB passed away on May 29, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side after a very courageous battle with cancer. Arnold was born in Sydney, Cape Breton on October 22, 1929 the son of the late Alex and Flora (McKinnon) MacMillan. He was a mechanic and served in the Military for his career. He served with the RCEME being attached to the First Queens Own Rifles, The Black Watch and the Third RCHA. He served in Korea, two terms in Egypt and other various postings. He belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion in Downsview, Ontario. Arnold attended the Lower Cape Baptist Church. He was known for his story telling, his quick wit and great sense of humour. Red also loved music, playing the guitar, mandolin and banjo. Once you met Red you would never forget him. He was a very special man who will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever, he will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife Rita MacMillan; his sons Ron (Roseann) of Valley View, Alberta, Peter of Red Deer, Alberta, Jeff (Peggy) of Toronto, Ontario, Gary (Shirley) of Red Deer, Alberta and Rod (Kelly) of Cold Lake, Alberta; his sister, Shirley Clare (Ronald) of West River; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Lieselotte Spital 1922-2006 The death of Mrs. Lieselotte Spital occurred at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Born in 1922 in Herne, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Martha (Groenig) Schwerkolt. She is survived by her husband, Michael, and son Karl (Valerie) of Gladeside, NB; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude (Heinz) Alpers, Hamburg, Germany. ARSENAULT, IRENE A. M. - The death of Irene A. M. Arsenault occurred at Kennebec Manor on Monday, May 29, 2006. Miss Arsenault was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Gerard and Imelda (Arseneau) Arsenault. She is survived by three brothers, Ronald (Marguerite) of Charlottetown, and Oscar and David, both of Saint John; three sisters, Carmel Gallant and Theresa Michaud (John) both of Dartmouth, N.S., and Louise Arsenault of Lethbridge; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. O'NEIL, NORMAN A. - (Aug. 6, 1926 - May 24, 2006) After a courageous battle with ALS, Norman passed to eternal life. He died as he had lived - a gentle, kind and compassionate man. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife, Denise (Roch); and sons, Daniel and Patrick (Gretchen); sister, Helen SCIC; brother, James (Helen); and sister-in-law, Florence (Roy). He was predeceased by parents, Mary (O'Brien) and D. Roy O'Neil; sister, Dorothy SCIC; and brothers, Roy and Gerard. RICHARDS, JULIA C. - The death of Julia C. Richards formerly of 148 Winslow St., widow of James S. Richards, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Mrs. Richards was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Gregor and Katrina (Malarek) Tokach, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Julia was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School. She was employed with the Federal Dept. of Fisheries and then with the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs, from where she took early retirement. She was a member of St. Vincent's Alumnae Association and the Federal Superannuates N.B. Branch. She was predeceased by three brothers, Eli, Peter, and William "Billy" Tokach; and three sisters, Mary Tokach, Helen Zychowski, and Annie Wills. She is survived by her chosen daughter, Anne-Marie Godwin of Mechanic Settlement; several nieces and nephews; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. REIDY George W. 1925 - 2006 George W. Reidy, beloved husband of Muriel Reidy of Calgary, passed away at the Beverly Centre on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the age of 80 years. George was born on November 20, 1925 in Red Deer, AB, where he was raised and resided until 1967 when he and his family moved to Calgary. He enjoyed and coached baseball, hockey, skiing, and golf. George had numerous passions and interests - he served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, was a Kinsman, a Mason, and an active Rotarian for many years. Besides his loving wife Muriel, George is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Trevor and Renne, and Terry and Sandy; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Blair; ten grandchildren and their spouses and significant others, Brad, Todd, Tyler, Shauna, Lorelei, Scott, Cristin, Ryan, Andrea, and Tara; and great-grandson Liam. He is also survived by his stepson, Duane Sharman, and his children, Allan, Kenneth and Danielle; stepdaughter, Kathy and Ken McLellan, and their children, Tyler and Amanda. George was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy, in 1998; and great-grandson Dailyn in 2000. TIMOFFEE Annie Annie Timoffee passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary on May 26, 2006. She is survived by two sisters, Belle and Vicki. She is also survived by her daughter, Violet Taylor (Ray); and two sons, Bob Timoffee (Dale), and Jerry Timoffee (Helen); as well as eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Annie and her husband Steve farmed near Sheho, Saskatchewan. After Steve passed away in 1967, Annie moved to Calgary to be closer to her children. She worked for a company that provided home care and then worked for her son at a wholesale hobby craft business. Annie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be remembered for her kindness and caring ways. She taught her children to respect all people, to treat them with love and kindness. She epitomized the work ethic, giving her utmost to her family. These are her greatest legacies. DEACON, Elizabeth Jane (nee Norman) April 30, 1951 Liz passed away on Monday, May 22, after a fourteen month struggle with cancer. She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 32 years, Doug and their two wonderful daughters Jennifer and Deanna. She has also left behind her parents Ernie and Val Norman, her sisters Sue and Cathy (Frank) along with her brother Ted (Karen), mother-in-law Irene Deacon, sister-in-law Judy (Paul) Jennings (nee Deacon) and brother-in-law Tom Deacon (Pam). Liz was born in Trenton, Ontario and moved around with her family as Ernie was in the RCAF. Liz and Doug met in their last year of high school. And in 1972 Liz moved to the west coast from Ottawa to start a new life with Doug who had joined the RCMP. They quickly made new friends and settled in Delta BC. Liz was known as a fun loving and outgoing person who was involved in many community activities and youth sports. She will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting her. We know Liz left us way too soon and she will be profoundly missed by Doug, Jennifer and Deanna along with her parents, sisters and brother.
