GIBBS, MYRTLE IRENE The death of Myrtle Irene Gibbs of Fredericton, NB occurred peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Nashwaak Villa, Stanley. Born on March 20th, 1915 in Burtt's Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Florence (Jones) Lawrence. She is survived by her son, David Gibbs (Jane Menzies) of Fredericton, NB; two granddaughters, Stacey Gibbs of Calgary, AB, and Erin Gibbs of Madison, Connecticut; brother, Eugene "Bib" Lawrence (Mary) of Mill Cove, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Gibbs; two brothers, H. Edward Lawrence and Ronald B. Lawrence, and her life long friends, Mildred Todd and Eileen Smith. Although born in Burtt's Corner, she spent most of her childhood years in Devon. Over the years, she was a caregiver to her mother, a stay-at-home mother and an employee of the Victoria Public Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. A long time member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church, she was also a former member of the Silver Dolphins Swim Club and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital retirees group. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24th, 2006 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2006 at 1 pm at Brunswick Street Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. HASHEY, EARL ROBERT The passing of Earl Robert Hashey occurred Saturday, April 22nd at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. He was 82. Born in Joggin's Mines NS, he was the son of the late Gerald & Ethel (Vance) Hashey. Roman Catholic by faith, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 for 50 years & worked for Capital Window Cleaners as well as Irving Oil for several years prior to that. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years Lucille, 1 son Ronnie Hashey (Patricia) of Burtt's Corner, 3 daughters Shirley-Anne McFarland, (Robert) of Fredericton, Sharon Brewer of Keswick NB, Brenda Brewer (Laureston) of Burtt's Corner, 1 brother Richard Hashey of Fredericton, 2 sisters Elizabeth Fearon (Ace) of Gagetown NB, & Mabel Hashey of Ontario. Also survived by several nieces & nephews, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. Besides his parents, Earl was predeceased by 1 daughter Judith, 3 sisters, Dorothy, Shirley, & Jean, as well as 1 brother Donald. MASON, BERTHA EILEEN (NEE ALLISON) Bertha Eileen Mason (nee Allison), passed away quietly in the presence of family at the age of 89 at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, April 23, 2006 after a brief illness. Born in Whitney, New Brunswick to Mary Jane Stewart and Elmer William Allison, she was a graduate of the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and served in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps from 1941 to 1943. She was a long time employee of Calp's Limited in Saint John and of Woolworth's in Oromocto until her retirement. She has been a resident of Oromocto for 47 years. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Hugh Mason of Saint John, daughter Joan Mason of Waasis, son Brian Ralph Mason (Mavis) of Ottawa, a sister, Villa Laventure of Moncton, brother Boyd Allison (Mabel) of Newcastle and sister in-law Doreen Allison of Newcastle. She leaves behind seven grandchildren Lori Emmet, Nigel Emmet (Joanne), Rosselyne McCaffrey (Mike), Robert Bryant (Andrée), Matthew Bryant, Stephanie Mason and David Mason. She will be greatly missed by her great grandchildren Allison and Benjamin McCaffrey, Carolyn Bryant Rossignol and Krystal Rossignol, and Jacques Rivet and Robyn Henry. She is predeceased by her brother Harold Allison of Newcastle, daughter Sandra Emmet of Saint John and grandchild Robert Larry Bryant of Oromocto. Alda Mae Hazel SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Alda Hazel, age 59, of Sackville, occurred at The Moncton City Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2006, surrounded by her family. Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late John and Mabel (Boyles) Corney. Alda was a homemaker for the Red Cross and the "Avon Lady" for Sackville and Amherst. She lived for her children and grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by all. Alda leaves to mourn three sons, Dale and John (Tessa), both of Amherst, and Darren (Heather), of Parrsboro; three daughters, Juanita (Rob), Amherst, Joy (Isaac) and Denine (Walter), both of Sackville; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a special friend, Bob Niles; two brothers, John and Jerry; and one sister, Lorraine; and her ex-husband, Robert Hazel. Evelyn Margaret MacKay MONCTON, N.B. - Evelyn Margaret MacKay passed away Friday, April 21, 2006, after a lengthy illness. Born in Trenton, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Allen and Annie MacDonald. Ev leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Donald B. MacKay of Riverview, N.B.; two daughters, Lyn MacKay, Toronto, ON., and Kathy (Greg) Works, Yellowknife, NT.; three grandchildren, Emily, Maggie and Jack Works, all of Yellowknife, NT; two sisters, Eileen (Bill) Dudka and Teresa (Ray) Gillis, both of Stellarton, N.S.; and several nieces and nephews. Prior to her illness, she was a member of the Beaver Curling Club, the Riverview Gyrettes, a volunteer at the Moncton Hospital, and the kind of friend a friend should be. The family would like to thank Paulette Wallace and the staff at Pro-Tem, past and present, for the amazing care Ev received. MALONE, MARY (INIE) AGNES - Mrs. Mary (Inie) Agnes Malone of Norton, NB, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends, on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the age of 65. Mary was most proud of her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved and respected by many for her generous spirit, humility, compassion and sense of humor. Mary was born in Saint John, NB on May 9, 1940; she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Isabel (Kelly) Fournier and the beloved wife of the late James Daniel Malone who passed away in 1983. Mary is survived by her children; Christine Davis and her husband Ivan of Norton, Elaine Coldwell and her husband Martin of Orleans, ON, Thomas Malone and his wife Rebecca of Baltimore, Maryland and Donna Malone and her partner Diane Rowe of Dartmouth, NS, seven Grandchildren, Ben Davis, Jeffrey, Andrea and Nicholas Coldwell and Daniel, Patrick and Bobby Malone, her sisters; Theresa Fulton and her husband Gary of Sussex, Margaret Hoefnagels and her husband Joe Strathroy, ON, her brothers; James and his wife Eileen of Edmonton, Alberta, Alfred and Veronica Smith of Poodiac, Michael and his wife of Glenda of Bruderheim, Alberta, John and his wife Debbie of Poodiac, as well as several nieces and nephews. SHEA, CLEMENT EDWARD (1913 - 2006) Surrounded by his loving family, Clem quietly passed away on April 22, 2006 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Loving husband of Laurenna (McKiel) Shea and the son of the late Everett P. Shea and Mabel (Robson) Shea. Clem enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and summers spent with family and friends at their cottage at Haggarty's Cove at New River Beach. Throughout his life he was an athlete and great lover of sports. Clem graduated from Saint John High School (1930) and Modern Business College. He served oversees from 1940 - '46 with the VIII Princess Louise's N.B. Hussars - 5th Armored Division in Italy, and participated in the liberation of Northwest Europe. He served in Saint John with the militia following discharge. Clem was employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Citizenship and Immigration for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Church of Good Shepherd serving as Warden and Vestryman, and an active member of the men's church group. He was a member of the Princess Louise's N.B. Hussars Veterans Association, Lancaster Seniors Service Club; volunteered with Meals on Wheels and West Side Food Bank. Clem enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and summers spent with family and friends at their cottage at Haggarty's Cove at New River Beach. Throughout his life he was an athlete and great lover of sports. Along with his wife of 60 years, Clem is survived by his three daughters, Cherrill Shea (Carl Aron) New York City, Suzanne Hartlen (Ralph) Rothesay, and Patricia Shea Saint John. One son, John Shea (Paula) Westfield. Beloved "Gumpy" to five grandchildren: Meghan, Ryan, Brandon, Keeley and Kaitlyn. URQUHART, ROLAND B. - The death of Roland B. Urquhart, husband of Beatrice (Montford) occurred on April 22, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Kiersteadville, N.B. on March 23rd 1923., he was the son of Frederick and Edna (Crawford) Urquhart. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, daughter, Karen of Saint John, son Gary, Daughter-in-law, Ardis, grandson, Scott all of Rossland, BC. He is also survived by his brother, Alpheous of Moncton, NB and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Ruby, and seven brothers; Donald, Fraser, Medley, Marshall, Clarence, Harold and Cyril. Roland was co-owner of J&A McMillan Stationary Store and was extremely active in his community. He was a veteran and member of The Canadian Legion. He was an active member and held various positions in Lancaster Kiwanis, Luxor Masonic Temple and Shriner Railway Unit. Ida Marion Fillion It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Fillion, dear wife of Jeannot Fillion, on April 21, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Irene Feasey August 28, 1930 - April 22, 2006 Passed on Saturday Morning April 22, 2006 at the age of 75 Years She was born August 28, 1930. in Hamilton Ontario. Her late husband Ralph, the love of her life passed January 15, 1986. Irene's 50th Wedding Anniversary, would have been April 28th. Left to carry on Irene’s love of life are her children, Steve in British Columbia, Diane (Lyle) in Ashern, Margaret (Ed) in Winnipeg, Barbara (Milton) in Woodlands, Sue (Mel) in Winnipeg. Her Grandchildren, Liz, Tara, Chris, Steven, Jenine, Kevin, Austin, Becky, Jordan, J Jeff, Roland, Jenny, and Trevor. Irene won The M.L.C.A. Senior Curling Championship in 1982, and was an outstanding curler. She continued to attend curling events 2 or 3 times a week. Irene’s other passion was Horse Racing. She was at the Assiniboia Downs every Sunday afternoon to enjoy the Racing. Summer Days, her family, friends, and a few cold ones, that was her perfect day. Irene had a lot of friends. Most late afternoons in recent years would find Irene at The Wok House on Portage Avenue, talking and laughing with Kenny and Crew. In accordance with Irene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. BELBECK Marg August 25, 1935 - April 21, 2006 Marg Belbeck of Priddis, AB, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, April 21, 2006 at the age of 70 years. Brought up in Swift Current, SK, she moved with her husband Cal to Calgary in 1960, where she worked for many years at the Toronto Dominion Bank. A long time resident of Haysboro Community, Marg eventually moved to Priddis Greens in 1987. Being early members of the Priddis Greens Golf Club fulfilled her and Cal's dream of golfing together. She quickly adapted to the challenges of motherhood; never straying far from her family, which always came first. She made numerous friends over the years from her roots in Calgary and then Priddis, and she was an active member of the Priddis Greens Lady's Club. She enjoyed golf, curling, and especially family - which always took precedent. Marg had an "open door" policy for family and friends and was always available for impromptu visits and lavish family dinners for which she was famous for; often to celebrate a holiday, birthday or just a get together. All of her grandchildren were lovingly nurtured, and there was always a candy jar that was well stocked by the front door. Marg was very patient and talented in her hobbies. She accomplished beautiful art in needlepoint, doll making, and knitting. Marg will be deeply missed by all those that knew her; she was a loving and generous lady. Marg is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dr. Mark Grainger; son Brent; and grandchildren, Cameron (fiancee Diana Shehata), Sarah, Janelle, Kevin, Andrea (Grainger) of Calgary, Jennifer, Katie and Scott (Belbeck) of Cape Coral, FL. DROUIN, Yvonne (née Bélanger) 1920 - 2006 À Ste-Adèle, le 21 avril 2006, à l'âge de 85 ans, est décédée Madame Yvonne Bélanger, épouse de feu Jean-Marie Drouin. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Michel (Suzanne), Nicole, Estelle, Andrée, Denis (Carole), Danielle, ses petits-enfants, son arrière-petite-fille, ainsi que plusieurs parents et amis. Elle sera exposée au Salon funéraire Guay inc. 955, rue Grignon, Ste-Adèle Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église Ste-Adèle le mercredi 26 avril à 11 heures, suivies de l'inhumation au cimetière du même endroit.
