Murray Gallant POINTE-DU-CHÊNE, NB - Murray Gallant, 67, Pointe-du-Chêne passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a lengthy illness. Born in Pointe-du-Chêne, he was the son of the late Silas and Kathleen (Baxter) Gallant. Murray was employed with School District #15 for 30 years prior to his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife Colleen (Hendrickson) Gallant; daughter, Laura Gallant (Scott Carter) of Pointe-du-Chêne; son Rockford "Rocky" of Grande-Digue; sisters, Faye Rosenburg (Peter) of Pettawawa, ON, Janie Gallant of Shediac; brothers, Terry and Clayton (Linda Cormier), both of Pointe-du-Chêne, and Bernie (Bernice Melanson) of Grand-Barachois, and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph. No visitation by request. Diann Olive Johnson 1942 - 2006 QUARRYVILLE, NB - The death of Diann Johnson of Quarryville, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 2, 2006. Born in the Miramichi, February 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Barbara (Jardine) Smith. Diann had a 25-year career with Corrections Canada at the Renous Penitentiary and the National Parole Office. Diann's passions were music, dancing, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Garnet, of Quarryville; sons Wayne (Corrine) of Moncton, Bradley (Julian) of Ottawa, Gregory (Monique) of Truro; daughter, Kimberley Johnson-Cassidy (Len) of Moncton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason and Sarah Johnson; brothers, Sterling Smith (Joan), Robert Smith, Debert Smith (Fay); sisters, Faye Gilks (Edward), Gloria Johnson, June MacTavish (Don) all of Newcastle and Lucy Smith (George Rice) of Toronto, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Jack of Newcastle, Frank of Moncton, and a sister, Margaret Johnson of Toronto. She was a member of Central United Church and past choir member, past Secretary of Miramichi Presbyterial, past President of the U.C.W., member of Berwick Camp, past Matron of Order of Eastern Star, Bathurst No. 22, Chaplain of OES for eight years, past officer of Grand Family OES in NB, past Grand Representative of New Jersey and South Dakota OES, Honorary member of Prince Andrew Chapter #42, New Castle, Honorary member of Prince Charles Chapter #27, Chatham. FULLERTON, DOROTHY PAGE - The death of Dorothy Page Fullerton, 82, occurred following a period of illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 3, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Frank Stanley Fullerton and Laura Helen (Page) Fullerton of Alberta. Born in Hanna, Alberta, she moved to Saint John in 1941 and was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School. She taught school for a time, then worked for the Department of Public Works until her retirement. After retiring she stayed active, taking courses in computers, French and art, the latter of which she was especially fond. She lived most of her life in Saint John as a west-sider and was a member of Carleton Kirk United Church. Dorothy is survived by a brother, Fred Stanley Fullerton and his wife Lorna Drumheller, Alberta, two sisters, Elizabeth Jean Stuart of Rothesay and Anne Page MacKenzie and her husband Alastair of Vancouver as well as several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by a sister, Helen M. Fullerton and an infant brother, Frank Fullerton. LeBLANC, MARY STELLA - On Tuesday 4, April, 2006, our beloved sister passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, December 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Melina (LeBlanc) Leblanc. She is survived by two sisters: Doreen and Angela LeBlanc; two brothers: David and Patrick, all of Saint John. Mary is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary resided the last 21 years at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. She loved going to the Rotary Camp every year at Grand Lake. Everywhere the car went Mary was waiting. She loved her music and always had the beat and loved coloring. She was like a little angel in her own little world. Long last, she is called to her eternal home in Heaven to join her Mom and Dad and the Lord. Resting at the Castle (Fallsview) Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). LYTTLE, DONNA ELAINE (THOMPSON) - The unexpected death of Donna Lyttle, wife of Dwain Lyttle, of Anthony's Cove Road, Red Head occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 1st, 2006. She was born in Saint John on July 21st, 1959 to Fred and Judy (Falkenham) Thompson. Donna was a homemaker by choice; she had a zest for life, enjoyed daily walks with her mom, gardening, and a true love for the outdoors. Besides her husband Dwain and her parents, Donna is survived by her son Cory at home; brother: David (Pam) Thompson of Saint John, NB; two nieces: Chelsey and Courtney Thompson; sisters-in-law: Diane Sharpe, Sharon (David) Keirstead and Wanda Michaud; brothers-in-law: David (Kim) Lyttle and Vincent (Stephanie) Lyttle; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Katja (MacLeod) Kessin, PhD February 7, 1959 - April 1, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katja Kessin, beloved mother of Darcy-Jonas, Katrina and Audrey; daughter of Ernst and Eva Daszkowski; sister of Petra, Joachim and Alexandra; and best friend of Sara. Katja moved from Hamburg, Germany in 1979 and made Montreal her home. Artist and teacher at Concordia University, she was much loved by her students. The power of Katja's paintings reflected her unique vision. She lived life to its fullest and is an inspiration to all who knew her. Katja will be greatly missed by her children and Darcy MacLeod. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and devoted friend. A service will be held on Friday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Rosedale-Queen Mary United Church, 6870, rue de Terrebonne, NDG. Katja volunteered her time at Auberge Transition. Through her artwork, she was able to help many women and children heal from the effects of abuse. OBITUARY GEORGE MALAS It is with great sadness that his family announces the death of George Malas. He passed away on April 04, 2006, at the age of sixty-eight, surrounded by his family, after a brief but brave fight with cancer. Beloved husband of Popy for 43 years; a devoted father to his son Steve (Koula Katerelos); his son Dimitri (Youmna Saikali); adoring Papou to Christopher and Diana, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind other family and many friends, here and abroad, who loved and respected him as if he were one of their own. George was an intelligent and gentle man, an engineer in his professional life who loved his retirement years. A kind word and gentle smile was his trademark, and his infinite patience and kindness will be sorely missed. While his memory will always warm our hearts, his loss leaves a void that will be impossible to fill.
