Mrs. Mary "Ruth" Ruth Stockley April 23, 1918 - November 07, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Nanaimo) Her working life began as a Registered Nurse in Winnipeg for several years. During the war years she served in the Medical Corp as a nurse with the rank of Major. Ruth then moved to British Columbia. She worked with the V.O.N. then for many years as School Health Nurse in the Cedar/Ladysmith/Nanaimo area until her retirement. She was a Justice of the Peace, a great pianist, a writer and lovingly remembered by all who knew her in the A.C.W. and congregation at St.Philip’s Anglican Church, Cedar. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Thursday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Cedar. Rev. Kyle Norman officiating. Nero; her devoted children: a son, Craig Wood; 2 daughters, Paula Garcia, Elizabeth Nero; and a cherished sister, Elizabeth Aubrey. Huculak: Paul Louis 1945 - 2005 Paul Louis Huculak passed away on November 23, 2005 at the Alberta Hospital, Ponoka. At 60 years of age, Paul lost his courageous battle with this lengthy illness. He is now at peace with the Lord, where we know he will be well looked after. Paul was born on August 10, 1945 in Camrose. He was a resident of Newcastle, and attended school in Drumheller. Upon completion of grade 12, Paul worked for CN, thereafter became ill at an early age in his life. As schoolmates will remember Paul, he loved all sports that included baseball, soccer and excelled as a hockey player. Paul is survived by two brothers, Steve of Drumheller, and Walter of Calgary. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary, as well as two brothers, John and William. Funeral Services were held in Ponoka on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 1 :00 P.M. Father Jim Corrigan presiding. Bowker Funeral Home Services were in charge of funeral arrangements. With family, Paul's friends and caregivers from the hospital were in attendance, to give tribute and final blessings. Paul's ashes will be interred within the family plot in Drumheller.

WORCESTER— Henry J. Lussier, 90, of 629 Salisbury St., and formerly of Pilgrim Ave., died Monday, November 28th at the Jewish Healthcare Center. His wife of 59 years, Rita L. (Moisan) Lussier died in February of 2005. Henry is survived by his loving family a son, Robert Lussier of Holden, and a daughter, Denise Quadrant of Worcester; a sister, Lucille Poirier of Woonsocket, RI; three grandchildren, Angela Baldi, Melanie Bo and Shawn Lussier; and a great granddaughter, Seneca Baldi. He was predeceased by his grandson, Neil Lussier, his sister, Eva Blanchette and his brother, Ovide Lussier. He was born in Woonsocket, RI, a son of the late Josephat and Anna (Morriseau) Lussier, and lived in Worcester for many years. Henry was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. Prior to his retirement in 1979, Mr. Lussier worked for Olsen Manufacturing Co., of Holden and formerly in Worcester. Henry enjoyed creating floral arrangements, and together with his wife Rita, they operated a small business, Designs by Henri. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Worcester, where he was active in the Save Saint Joseph's Committee. He volunteered much of his time and talents to fund raising activities at the church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury on Thursday, December 1st from 4-7 PM. She is survived by two brothers, Paulfrey Trosclair and his wife Carrie, Melvin Trosclair and his wife Freddie. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Poirrier; parents, Augustave and Julie Domangue Trosclair; sisters, Therizele, Martha, Antonia, Angeline, Anesia, Blanche and Ruth; one brother, Caffery. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 27, 1920, raised in Biloxi, MS and lived in Buras, LA for the past 8 years. She was a retired employee for the city of New Orleans Streets Depart- ment. FOSTER, JAMES OTTO The death of James Otto Foster of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Veteran's Health Unit on Saturday, November 26th, 2005. Born in North Tay, NB he was the son of the late Charles John and Margaret Anne (Hawkes) Foster, and the husband of the late Jean C. (Hazlett) Foster. Jim retired in 1979 after thirty-three years of service with the Department of Forestry, Government of Canada. From 1940 to 1945, he served overseas with Number 4 Company, Canadian Forestry Corps. An avid musician, James had his own orchestra, "The Men of Note" for many years. He was also a member of The New Brunswick Symphony Orchestra. Survived by his son, Stephen James (Hilda) Foster of Calgary, AB and his daughter, Judith Gail (Mervyn) Morgan of Nasonworth, NB; four grandchildren, Katherine Jane (Craig) Burningham, Karen Joy (Dan) Morgan and James Fraser Stephen (Susan) Foster all of Calgary, AB and Constance Leigh (Robert) Stairs of Fredericton,NB; ten great-grandchildren. Allan G. White 1957 - 2005 Allan G. White, 48, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2005. Born in Moncton, July 13, 1957, he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Gertrude E. (Rogers) White. He was employed with Dexter Construction of Halifax. He attended Gunningsville Baptist Church, Old Coach Rd. Riverview, NB. Allan was a quiet and kind man, who enjoyed music and working around the family home. He is survived by two sisters, Inez and Nancy of Cocagne and a brother Richard of Riverview and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister and infant brother. Visitation is at the Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. Dean Steeves FOREST GLEN, NB - Dean Melvin Steeves, age 59, of Forest Glen, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2005 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Petitcodiac, he was a son of the late Melvin and Florence (Lounsbury) Steeves. He was an electrician with Roadway Systems Ltd, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 41, Petitcodiac, and the Havelock Wesleyan Church. Over the years, Dean held a great interest in sports, including car racing, darts and hockey, and had coached the Hawks in the Petitcodiac Recreational Hockey League. He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Prosser); his daughter, Tanya MacLeod (Clinton) of Forest Glen; his son, Robbie of Forest Glen; granddaughter, Cailyn; his mother-in-law, Daphna Prosser; sisters, Ruth Alward (Royce) of Petitcodiac, Edna Damon of Saint John, Martha Carson (Art) of Salem, Brenda Wood (Carl) of Petitcodiac; brother, Chester (Jennie) of Petitcodiac; several nieces and nephews. BLANCHARD, RAPHAEL J. - The death of Raphael (Ralph) J. Blanchard, loving husband of Ella (Gallant) Blanchard occurred on Monday November 28, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1929 in Caraquet, NB he was the son of the late Ernest and Emerise (Robichaud) Blanchard. Besides his loving wife Ella, he is survived by son Daniel (Brenda) of Saint John; daughters Denise Massey (Ryan) of Hampton and Jacqueline Blanchard; brothers Theophane (Aurore) of Bathurst and Yves (Cecile) of Village Blanchard; sisters Gilberte Daigle of Saint John, Andrea Blanchard of Moncton, Augustina Chenard of Leominister, Mass, Francine Lavoie (Armand) of Tracadie and Yvette Dugas of Sudbury, Ont; sister-in-law Priscilla Blanchard of Arizona; six grandchildren: Luc, Evan, Jillian, Brandon, Spencer and Caitlyn; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother Donatien Blanchard. HARDING, SIBYL GREEN - Sibyl Green Harding, 96, of Qualicum Beach, B.C. passed away at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Nanaimo, B.C. on November 15, 2005 after a brief illness. Born in Perth, N.B. on Oct 15, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Ruby (Green) Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Harding and by one brother, Stephen Anderson (Rita) Belleville, ON, two sisters Ruth Schwabe (Robert), Riverside, Calif. and Sarah Day, Murrieta, Calif., special niece Ruby Northrup (Kirk), Keremeos, B.C., special nephew Gilbert Anderson, Qualicum Beach and many other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Borden, Sam and Clinton Anderson and a niece Sibyl Grace Briggs. The family moved from Perth to Plaster Rock and as a young woman in Plaster Rock and surrounding area Sibyl worked as a practical nurse assisting the local doctor in home childbirth delivery staying on a short time with the family to care for mother and new baby. In 1946 she married Frank Harding and together they moved to British Columbia in 1951. Her husband Frank and brother Clinton owned and operated a general store for over 20 years in Madeira Park, B.C. and Sibyl assisted with the clerical work. After retiring, Sibyl and Frank moved to Qualicum Beach, on Vancouver Island. Her many interests kept her busy and they enjoyed having old friends from Tobique stop by. She was keenly interested in genealogy and as the oldest survivor of her generation will be sadly missed by the family as the one who was always there to recall years gone by. Born in East Boston, Massachusetts on October 11, 1924. She was a daughter of the late John A. and Mary Margaret (Thibodeau) Dugas. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by: one son Russell "Pete" (Shirley) Leblanc of Pennfield; one daughter Sharon Hooper of Blacks Harbour; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Beatrice Benza of Portland, Oregon, Lillian Comeau of Metaghan, NS; one brother, James (Martha) Dugas of Pasco, Washington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. LeGRAND, REV. KENNETH 'WILLIAM' (BILL) - The death of Rev. Kenneth 'William' (Bill) LeGrand, husband of Anne Marie (Poirier) LeGrand, occurred on November 27, 2005 at his residence. Born in L'Anse-au-Beaufils, Quebec, he was the son of the late Sydney Clement and Nellie Doreen (Urquhart) LeGrand. He graduated from MacDonald College with his Teaching Diploma, before receiving his BA from Mount Allison University and his Masters of Divinity from Huron College. He served at St. John Parish in Schreiber, ON, St. Saviour's Parish in Blind River, On, Restigouche Parish, NB, and Newcastle-Nelson Parish, Miramichi, NB, before becoming the Anglican Hospital Chaplain at the Saint John Regional Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood. Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother Winston Lloyd (Jean) of Oshawa, ON, his sister Shirley May and her husband Kenneth LeGrand of St. Bruno, PQ, his nephews David, Jeffrey, Kevin, Rick and Dan as well as his wife's family. McALEESE, MRS. MARGARET ELLEN - Mrs. Margaret Ellen McAleese formerly of Elm Street, Sussex, passed away at Primrose Cottage Special Care Home, Lower Millstream on November 28, 2005 at the age of 94. Born in Millstream New Brunswick on May 28, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Jenny A. (Parlee) Northrup and the beloved wife of the late Jim McAleese who passed away in 1995. Margaret is survived by two sisters, Ruth Willis of Sussex and Marion Parlee of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Wanda McAleese of Edmonton, Alberta; Scott McAleese and his wife Ellen of Sussex; two great granddaughters Casey and Emma; her daughter-in-law Shirley McAleese of Sussex Corner; as well as several nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her son Don, her sister Florence Northrup and by her brother Frank Northrup. RICHARDSON, FRANCES L. - Age 89, of Deer Island, NB died November 27th, 2005 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Eastport, ME on June 25th, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Flora Henward. Frances is survived by her daughter Elaine (Richardson) Conley and son-in-law Sonny, two granddaughters, Sandy and Vicki, all of Greenland, New Hampshire, USA; a son Charlie Richardson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three loving sisters-in-law Jenny of Nova Scotia Emily and Geneva both of Deer Island, NB. She was pre-deceased by her two brothers John and Charles and sister Mina Henward; one son Kenny and her loving husband of 70 years Kenneth Richardson. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched and those who knew and loved her. Resting at the Church of Christ, Lord's Cove, Deer Island, visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 29th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. David James Hillen July 07, 1941 - November 26, 2005 David passed away peacefully at home with his “soul friend”, Janet, at his side on Saturday November 26th, 2005, in his 65th year. David will be remembered for being a humanitarian with a sense of wonder, compassion, integrity and wit. Pre-deceased by his father Alfred (1950), mother Anna (1989) and sister- in -law Liz (2005). Adored husband of Janet. Cherished father of Heather (Scott), Andrew (Tracy), Amanda, Stephen (Heather). Loved grandfather of Joshua and Ainsley. Special uncle to Robin (Jason) and “Uncle Grandpa” to Julia and Justin. David will also be missed by sister Anna (Chris); parents-in-law Joseph and Jeannette Hynek; brother-in-law Paul, nieces, nephews, extended family and treasured lifelong and recent friends. Born in Toronto, educated at Victoria College, (U of T), David retired from teaching English in Kitchener, Toronto, Stoney Creek and Mississauga for 30 years. He also taught Philosophy and Religion in Spanish with the Baptist Mission Corps in Bolivia. He loved canoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, running, traveling, and gardening. He treasured time spent at the cottage on Lake Erie. David also loved words. Reading and writing were his passions. He was a published poet, freelance writer, and, with his wife, co-authored a column for the Hamilton Spectator –“Living Downtown: Familiarity Breeds Content”. He valued time spent with valued writing friends in Hamilton, and, in recent years, playing Scrabble with friends and family alike. David was a dedicated volunteer at the Good Shepherd Hospice. He initiated and, along with many community neighbours and partners, implemented the “Cannon Can” beautification project with the help of the Hamilton Community Foundation. George Harold Armstrong October 12, 1915 - November 29, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * ARMSTRONG……George Harold, age 90, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 29th, 2005, at home, surrounded by his family. Born on October 12, 1915, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, he was the eldest son of the late Harvey and Clara (Porter) Armstrong. A Sawyer by trade, George owned and operated Armstrong’s Lumber, Three Mile Plains, until his retirement in 1996. Since retiring, he enjoyed his daily trips to the Windsor Mall, and the time spent with his friends at Tim Horton’s. He is survived by daughters, Faye (Doug) Miller, Windsor; Sylvia (Vincent) Burgess, Windsor; son, George (Charlene), Three Mile Plains; grandchildren, Scott Burgess, Troy Burgess, Greg Miller, Jodi Barron, Ryan Armstrong and Sara Boone; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Natalie and Matthew Barron; Emily and Jillian Miller; Hayley Burgess; special friend, Sybil “Sue” Swinamer. George was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Alice Evelyn Leary; great-grandson, Justin Burgess; great-granddaughter, Hannah Miller; sisters, Mary LeBlanc and Reta Creelman; brothers, Vincent, John and Owen. GIROUX, Micheal (1993 - 2005) - It is with profound sadness that the Giroux family announces his death at his residence in Verner, on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the age of 12 years. Beloved son of Luc and Maryanne Giroux (née Rich) of Verner. Dear brother of Timothy, at home. Predeceased by his sister, Megan. Loving grandson of Jean and Yollande Giroux (née Lapierre) of Warren. A grade seven student at the Our Lady of Sorrows school, Micheal enjoyed being with animals, and dreamed of being a farm boy just like his father. His special bond with animals made him happy and provided him with great joy. He also enjoyed playing cards. Selis and moved to Sudbury, where she has resided ever since. Predeceased by husband Albert in March 1993. Predeceased by brother Kenneth Urquhart September 1987. Survived by daughter Heather Sedran (husband Silvano predeceased 1999) and grandchildren: Kristina Sedran (husband Wajid Daouda), great grandmother Jaimie Sedran of Ottawa, and Robert Sedran (friend Lee-Anne Rancourt) of Sudbury.
