Loving father and best friend of David. Treasured Zaida of Matthew and Joel. He will be deeply missed by his partner Barbara Lefcort. Loving brother of the late Tom Taras and the late Bess Wagner. Brother-in-law of Elca Taras, Lillian Sheppard, the late Frances and the late Arthur Rawet, the late Moe Wagner, the late Irving Verbitsky. Ernest Simmonds August 10, 1923 - November 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) SIMMONDS, Ernest - 82, North Preston, passed away on November 17, 2005, in Abbey J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII. Born in North Preston, he was a son of the late Walter and Isabel (Downey) Simmonds. He was a plaster and finisher working with Maritime Drywall and L.R. Stevens Co. He was also employed at the Halifax Dockyard as well as serving in the Merchant Navy. A wonderful person, he enjoyed people and touched the lives of all who knew him. Surviving are his companion, Leona Higgins; daughter, Natasha, London, Ont.; sons, Gary Sr. (Brenda), Cherry Brook; Aron, Beechville; sister, Leona (William) Slawter, East Preston; brother, Arnold Berry, Montreal; 12 grandchildren; special nephew, Phil Simmonds; godchildren, Vernetta Beals and Louis Beals, and special niece, Elvina King. EAKINS; Margaret Jane Peacefully after a brief illness at Extendicare on Friday, November 18, 2005, in her 85th year. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Wendy Jane Eakins and her son Kevin Smiley Eakins, both of Kingston. She is predeceased by her parents Richard and Isabella Hill, her sister Rita Hill and her ex-husband John Smiley Eakins. Margaret was a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for 40 years, and worked at the Sarnia General Hospital and the North York General Hospital where she was a Unit Administrator specializing in Psychiatric Nursing. The family would like to thank the PCCCF. Para Med, the VON, and her hairdresser Debbie and to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patricia O'Donnell and to the staff of Extendicare for the care that Margaret received. In keeping with Margaret's wishes, cremation will take place. Glen was a special friend to the Nymark family. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and was for many years a management-training officer at Eaton's. BELCHERTOWN - Helena D. Keller, 95, formerly of Franklin Street, died November 17th at Palmer Health Care Center. Born in Boston, April 27, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Exilda (Duquette) Poirier. Mrs. Keller lived in Belchertown since 1940 and worked at the former Belchertown State School. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Keller in 1993, her daughter, Carol Cook in 2001, along with a son, Frederick in 1952. She is survived by two sons, Armand L. of Belchertown, and Gerald R. of Westwood; along with a sister, Clarisse Fox of NC, and Annette Felton of Wales; and her two brothers, Real and Leonard Poirier of Brimfield. She also leaves 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church in Bondsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. FONTAINE, Roch 1924-2005 À St-Hyacinthe, le 18 novembre 2005, à l'âge de 80 ans, est décédé M. Roch Fontaine, époux de Laurette Houle, demeurant à St-Théodore. Outre son épouse, il laisse ses enfants: Réjean, Nicole (Yvon Dupuis), Alain (Josée Messier), Hélène, Jean-Claude (Christine Lapalme) et Maryse (Pierre Dépault), de nombreux petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants ainsi que trois soeurs Aline, Monique (Gilles Désautels) et Noëlla (Jean-Noël Désautels), une belle-soeur Tony Martel (feu Marc Fontaine), plusieurs beaux-frères et belles-soeurs de la famille Houle en plus des nombreux neveux et nièces et autres parents et amis(es). La famille ser présente au salon: MARCEL BOISVERT LTÉE, 1150 DU MARCHÉ, ACTON VALE, le dimanche 20 novembre 2005 de 14 à 17 heures et de 19 à 22 heures. JOHANSEN, Aage. 1909-2005. Peacefully and with dignity in his ninety-seven year, Aage entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Predeceased by his wife Elin, daughter Eva and a sister and brothers in Denmark, he is survived by daughters Elsie and Elizabeth (David) and grandsons Joel (Natasha), Thomas and Joseph and great granddaughter Sasha. Aage also leaves behind his brother Paul in Denmark, and longtime friend, Shirley. At his request a private service will be held at a later date. URBAN, Carl-Heinz. (1911-2005). Son of the late Rudolph and Emma (Meyer) Urban, passed away on November 12, 2005 at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Carl was born August 3, 1911 in Helgoland, Germany. He arrived in Canada in May 1929 at the age of eighteen. Employed by the C.P.R. in April 1948 until his retirement in 1970. He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Bishop), three daughters Connie Munro (Dan), Victoria, BC, Judy Hurlburt (George), Calgary and Donna Robinson, Kirkland, Qc, one sister Helga Nichols, Port Hope, Ontario, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by two brothers, Weaner and Rudolph. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and will live forever in our hearts and thoughts. Funeral arrangements will be at Rideau Funeral Home with family members. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society (514-255-5151). Germaine Dorval Larouche 1919 - 2005 « Nos mères sont des anges qui nous soulèvent quand nos ailes n’arrivent plus à se rappeler comment voler. » Elle est décédée au Centre hospitalier Cléophas Claveau de Ville de La Baie le 14 novembre 2005, à l’âge de 86 ans et 8 mois. Elle demeurait à Ville de La Baie et antérieurement à Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides. Un service sera chanté, en présence des cendres, le samedi 26 novembre 2005 à 15h, en l’église St-Gérard-Majella de Larouche et de là au cimetière paroissial. Elle est partie rejoindre son cher Wilfrid récemment décédé. Elle était la fille de M. Joseph Dorval et de Mme Rosanna Simard. Elle était l’épouse en premières noces de feu M. Laurent Desbiens et en secondes noces de feu M. Wilfrid Larouche. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Sylvie Larouche (Rino Viel); ses petits-enfants Yannick, Joëlle (Donald Bourque); son arrière-petite-fille Leha; ainsi que Nicole Larouche et ses enfants: Carl, Sonya, Annie-Lyne, Allen Pelletier; dans la famille encore vivante, elle laisse Rév.
