VAN BUREN - Thomas M. Hebert, 60, died Nov. 11, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 25, 1945, in Van Buren, the son of Henry E. and Isabel (Cyr) Hebert. Tom was educated in local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Van Buren Boys High School. He graduated from William Penn College in Iowa in 1966 and then taught school in Iowa for one year. His career in education included teaching at Holy Rosary School in Caribou, as a substitute teacher in Van Buren, and teaching at Limestone High School from 1984-1990. He was employed as a program administrator at St. Michael's Center in Bangor and also worked as a counselor for Job Corps in Bangor. From 1990 until his retirement in 1999, he worked for his brother John at Hebert's Pharmacy in Van Buren. Tom was an avid and unrelenting supporter of the youth throughout his life. He was involved with Catholic Youth Organization while at Holy Rosary in Caribou. While a member of St. John's Parish in Bangor he taught in their CCD program. For nearly 20 years he worked summers at Pine Tree Basketball Camp in Waterville. Tom was actively involved in his community and church especially after moving to Van Buren in 1983. He was one of the organizers of the Grande Riviere Celebration several years ago. He was a former Civil Defense Coordinator for the town of Van Buren, a member of the Van Buren Lions Club where he served in several offices, including King Lion. Tom was a former trustee of the Van Buren Hospital District, a member of the Friends of the Library of the Abel J. Morneault Library, and a member of the Patients First Committee at Cary Medical Center. In his parish of St. Bruno-St. Remi, Tom served on the pastoral council, was a eucharistic minister and lector, and served as a member of the Church Renovation Committee. He was also a former chairman and committee member of the annual parish bazaar at St. Bruno-St. Remi, a fundraiser for the parish CCD program. He was a member, past chairman and vice chairman of the SAD No. 24 School Board. As a child and student advocate all of his life, Tom was involved with Project Graduation for many years. He is survived by one daughter, Julie Hebert and her fiance, Willis Gardner, of Ashland; two brothers, John Hebert and his wife, Sylvia, of Van Buren and Robert Hebert of Old Orchard Beach; one sister, Lisa Hebert of Van Buren; special nieces and nephews, Stephanie Randall, her husband, Brian and their children, Megan and Ian Thomas, Helene Adams, her husband John, and their sons, Ben and Luke, John Hebert, his wife, Amy and their son Henry. He will also be missed by his many friends and colleagues, including his "other brother", Tom Flanigan. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Coleman) Hebert Dec. 8, 2000. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Elizabeth Wheaton 1950 - 2005 Elizabeth Wheaton, of Riverview, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 10, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Riverside Albert, NB on July 31, 1950 she was the daughter of Orlie Cairns and the late Elizabeth (Murray) Cairns. Besides her father; she is survived by her husband, Scott Wheaton; daughter, Tracy Nelson (Jessie) of Toronto; sons, Trevor Nelson of Riverview, David Wheaton of Montreal, and Mark Wheaton of Montreal; brothers, Bill Cairns (Phyllis) and Kevin Cairns both of Moncton; grandchildren, Jessica and Jake; mother-in-law, Shirley Wheaton of Moncton; sister-in-law, Nancy Wheaton (Art Bateman) of St. Edouard; brother-in-law, Terry Wheaton (Judy) of Moncton; also by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Gérard Louis Tétrault May 08, 1924 - November 12, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel GERARD LOUIS TETRAULT After a courageous 26 year battle with cancer, on November 12th, 2005, at home surrounded by his family, Gérard passed away at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 36 years, Madeleine (Trudel) and his children Gilbert (Lucille Jolicoeur), Yvonne (David Savard) Aimé (Yolande Granger) Claude (Annette Grenier) Louis (Irène Bonneville) Raymond (Bonnie Daneault) et Ginette (Fernand Piché) as well as Madeleine's sons, Gérald Lamoureux (Louise Boisjoli) et Alain Lamoureux (Monique Laroche). He also leaves to mourn, 30 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Gérard also leaves his brothers Joseph (Imelda Ruest) and Jean (African Missionary) and sisters, Alice (Wenden) Germaine (Boily) and Gertrude (Dubé). Gérard was predeceased by his first wife of 22 years Louise (Vielfaure), his brothers Aimé, Laurent, Paul and sisters Marguerite, Hélène, Desanges (Forest), Irène (Fournier), Laurette (Désorcy). Gérard was born in La Broquerie on May 8, 1924, son of Louis and Rosilda (Gosselin). Following his studies at St-Boniface College he owned a dairy farm from 1944 to 57. He married Louise Vielfaure June 18, 1946. As part of his entrepreneurial endeavors, he purchased La Broquerie Transfer Ltd. in 1957, which is now Tétrault Transport Inc. He was also a partner with La Broquerie Lumber and Marchand Hotel. Upon retirement and because of his love of nature, he created Beau Sapin Ltd., a land development company in Marchand and also contributed greatly to the Marchand West development. Gérard was recipient of the 'Pionnier en entrepreneurship' a prestigious award given to francophone entrepreneurs. He had a love for sports, especially hockey. He was an original member of the first La Broquerie Senior hockey team, an exceptional player, coach, manager and an even more devout fan of the La Broquerie Habs. Gérard was founding member of the construction committee of the first arena and donated countless hours to the task. He was also President of the Centennial Arena construction committee and also a valuable contributor to La Broquerie's 3rd arena. Volunteer on many Boards, too many to list, he was particularly proud of his 40+ years of service to the Caisse Populaire movement, nearly 40 years as a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Chamber of Commerce, and la S.S.J.B. de LaBroquerie, FAFM, Francofonds... to name but a few. He was a regular canvasser for many years with the Canadian Hearth Foundation and organized an annual golf tournament fundraiser for the St. Boniface Hospital Cancer Research Foundation. He enjoyed volunteering with the RCMP, as well delivering Christmas hampers for the Christmas Cheer Board. In 1988 he received 'The Government of Canada Certificate of Merit' for outstanding contribution to his community. He was a devout family man, proud of his community, always ready to help with many projects, a man of faith, generous, hardworking, and an individual with a contagious zest for life. He was proud of his heritage, his culture and his hometown. We cite an excerpt from a text he wrote in the Tétrault Family book " I've always loved my wife, my children, my grand-children, my parents, my friends, my employees, I love outings, social events, traveling, and sports. I love my parish priest, and my community, where I've experienced joy, sorrow, challenges, fulfillment of dreams, successes, happiness, and it is in the shadow of our beautiful church that I wish to have my eternal sleep". We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the palliative care team. Sincere thanks to all those who have offered prayers, rendered services and visited Gérard during his illness. Emagene Brown Thibaut was the devoted and loving wife of the late John S. Thibaut. She died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, in Baton Rouge. Her strong faith in God gave her many years of strength and serenity. She is survived by a stepson, John S. Thibaut Jr. and his wife, Lynda, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Tricia Thibaut of Baton Rouge and Elizabeth Thibaut Stephenson of Alexandria, Va.; great-grandchildren, Grace, Abby and Charlie Stephenson; and niece, Janice Wright of Vero Beach, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Genia Brown, who were of Largo, Fla.; and sisters, Lucille, Genevieve and Roberta Brown, who were all of Largo. The family will hold a private memorial service and honor Emagene's wish to have her ashes scattered in the ocean near her childhood home in Florida. EDMUNDSTON, N.B. - Christine A. (Norton) Bourgoin passed away Nov. 11, 2005, at the age of 77. She was the wife of James Bourgoin of Edmundston, N.B., Canada. Christine was born May 3, 1928, in Hermon, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Norton and the late Dorothy Bradbury. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Glenn, of Eugene, Ore.; sons, James G. Bourgoin (Shirley) of Yuma, Ariz., Joseph M. Palmira C. (Pacheco) Bonnoyer, 89, of Fairhaven died Saturday, November 12, 2005 in St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford after a long illness. She was the wife of the late William Bonnoyer.Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John C. and the late Maria (Machado) Pacheco, she was a lifelong resident of the city before entering Alden Place in Fairhaven in 2000. She was a communicant of St. Kilian's Church in New Bedford. Mrs. Bonnoyer was an attendant at the Brooklawn Landerette years ago. She enjoyed puzzles and BINGO.She is survived by a daughter, Judith E. Keneklis and her husband Ted of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two brothers, John C. Pacheco of Dartmouth and Richard Pacheco of Acushnet; two sisters, Jesuina “Jessie” Pacheco of New Bedford and Margaret Cagno of Naugatuck, CT; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. PORTLAND - Christine Angela Talbot, 44, of Portland, passed away on Satuday, Nov. 12, 2005 after a long, courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born on Jan. 21, 1961, the daughter of Francis J. (Fritz) and Helen D. (Nellie) Talbot. She attended St. Dominic's Grammar School through grade 5, Waynflete School through her ninth grade, and graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1979. She also attended USM and Casco Bay College for two years until she was finally side-lined with her MS, with which she was diagnosed at age 15. While a student at Waynflete, Christine played field hockey, lacrosse, and basketball. She also played basketball at Portland High School, and she served as Class Representative to Student Council and worked on the yearbook staff. While at Portland High School, she also ran track. Christine loved music and dancing beginning way back as a young girl when she danced in the St. Dominic's annual variety shows which her mother produced. She was a very generous and caring person. Christine enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Little Sebago Lake. She was a great sports fan, enjoying watching NASCAR racing and the Patriots. She especially enjoyed the Red Sox. As a young girl she attended at least one game of every home stand; she always sat on the third base line so that she could be closer to Rico.

GUNNING, Joan (nee White) - After a prolonged illness surrounded by her family, Joan Gunning passed away peacefully on Thursday November 10, 2005 in her 77th year. Joan was an accomplished professional figure skater in her younger years. She taught figure skating at the University of Guelph and was invited to join the Ice Capades before her marriage. She was also the recipient of silver and bronze Canadian Figure Skating medals as well as six bars of achievement. Joan is the dear wife of Cuthbert Gunning and loving mother of Deborah (Dr. Gordon Porter) of Minnesota and David Gunning of North Bay. William "Bill" Frederick Wright July 19, 1949 - November 12, 2005 Peacefully with his loving family by his side Bill passed away on November 12, 2005, at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dauphin, MB on July 19, 1949. His early life was spent in several communities in southwestern Manitoba as Dad worked on the CN Railroad (Gladstone, Ingelow, Decker, McConnell, Rossendale, Lavenham and Glenora). Bill completed his education at Baldur High School, then joined the Military. While posted in Calgary, he met Marlene, his wife of 34 years. After leaving the Army, he and Marlene and family moved to Brandon for 2 years then to Winnipeg. For many years he worked for Confederation Life, ending his career as the Building Manager at the Courts of St. James. He had a severe stroke in June of 1987 and since that time has struggled with a number of health issues. In spite of this, he maintained a cheerful outlook and took pleasure in every day. Bill loved to ride his scooter, greeting friends (many girlfriends at the Grace Hospital) with a kiss and a Tickey, Tickey, Tickey. He was predeceased by father John William Wright, in 1984, mother Ettie Sutton in 1992 and stepfather Bert Sutton in 1997. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marlene, daughter, Shelley (Bill) Baker and grandson Michal; son Kelley and granddaughters Daryn and Jenifer; son Terry and wife Lise; and son Corey and wife Darlene and granddaughter Migget, and very special long time friends Delsa and Darwin LaRiviere. He is also survived by sisters Edith (Cornie) Furdievich, Marg (Murray) VanBuskirk, Barb (Obby) Cavers, Irene (Réal) Freynet, and Debbie Wright (Kelvin Shurvell); and brothers Chris (Bernadette), and Rob (Marla Libman); as well as nieces and nephews - Trish Howe, Tanya (Ryan) Meikle and Megan; Terrie (Kevin) Dohan and Kelly, Dayna and Erin; Melanie Sherb (Trevor O’Donnell); Russell (Mavis) VanBuskirk and Andy and Amy; Debbie VanBuskirk; Kevin and Stewart Wright; Réjean and Richard Freynet; and Matthew and Rachel Wright Shurvell. DAYTON - Michael Robert Derosier, 64, of Dayton passed away at his home Nov. 13, 2005, with his family by his side. Michael was born June 3, 1941 in Gardner, Mass., the son of Gerald and Caroline (Diaz) Derosier. He grew up in Ashburnham, Mass., and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He spent 22 years in the Coast Guard and retired as Senior Chief. After his military career he worked in civil service for the Navy and Coast Guard as a independent contractor. He lived in Yarmouth for many years where he was a former member of the Masons, the Shrine and was Past Patron of Winnegance Chapter OES. He moved to Dayton in 1994 and was a communicant of St. Demetrios Church in Saco. He enjoyed reading, fishing and spending time with his family. Michael was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Paul. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Christie) Derosier of Dayton; three sons, Aaron M. Derosier of Stratford, Conn., Stephen J. Derosier of St. Paul, Minn., and Michael R. Derosier II of Portland; a sister, Virginia Mercier of Westminster, Mass.; and four grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Demetrios Church, 186 Bradley St., Saco, with the Rev. Basil Arabatzis as the celebrant.

Marc E. Martel, 41, formerly of Nashua, N.H., died Nov. 11, 2005, at Silver Stream Health and Rehab Center in Wilmington, N.C., following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family. TURNERS FALLS - Nellie J. (Jason) St. Germain, 96, of 65 Crocker Avenue, Turners Falls, MA, died Friday, November 11, 2005 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility, Greenfield, MA. Nellie was born on May 26, 1909, the daughter of John and Nellie (Tamulenas) Jason in Turners Falls, MA and was a life long resident. She went back to her parents native Lithuania in 1914 and returned in 1918 before the beginning of WWI. She was educated in Montague Public Schools, graduating from Turners Falls High School in the class of 1927. She went to work for the former Crocker National Bank and later for the First National Bank in 1926. She had a 29 year career in the banking industry. Nellie was a life long communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Turners Falls, MA where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Council and served as treasurer for many years. She was in addition, a long time member of Thomas Memorial Country Club where her husband Harry was one of the founders. She was a member and past treasurer of the Turners Falls Women's Club. Nellie was also a volunteer for the Farren Memorial Guild, at the former Farren Memorial Hospital in Turners Falls, MA. She loved visiting with people, was very proficient in her banking career, had a great talent for making braided rugs and played both violin and piano. She was a very fine person who was loved by her many relatives and friends through the years. Nellie was married on October 8, 1934, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Turners Falls, MA to her husband Harry J. St. Germain, who pre-deceased her following nearly 57 years of marriage on March 30, 1991. Survivors include her three sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law; Alice Chittick, Anne Earley and Lillian and Harold Suprenant. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived locally by her close cousin Alyce (Giknis) Sokolosky and her daughters Ann and Jean.Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 14 Prospect Street, Turners Falls, MA with a dismissal service to be conducted at 10:15 a.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mansell Ross Maguire December 06, 1917 - November 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Mansell Ross Maguire passed away peacefully on November 13, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Ross was predeceased by his father Arthur, mother Alma and sister Vivian Rowe. Affectionately called "uncle Rossy" he is lovingly remembered by his nephews: Barry (Betty Ann), Bob (Sheila) Rowe, niece Virginia (Rob) Hardie, first cousin Pat Hewitt of Edmonton; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Ross was born in Calgary on December 6, 1917 and raised in the Rideau Park District, attending Rideau Park and Elbow Park Schools and Western Canada High School. Ross joined the Canadian Armed Forces at the start of WWII and served with the Calgary Highlanders, advancing to the rank of Captain. He was severely wounded by sniper fire during the allied liberation of Holland. Following the war, Ross enjoyed a lengthly career as an investment broker, with Gibsons, Bongard Leslie and Nesbitt Burns, making many close friends along the way. Ross retired in 1987. Throughout his life, Ross remained close to his family while residing on a beautiful farm near Dewinton for the past 47 years. He was an outdoor enthusiast, an excellent fly fisherman, an avid hunter of game birds. Ross was also a founding member of the Glencoe Club. Ross will be fondly remembered for his cheerful personality, sense of humour, and corny puns. There will be a private interment service at Burnsland Cemetery on Thursday, November 17, 2005, followed by a Celebration of his life, with family and friends in the West Room at the Glencoe Club at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ross' memory can be made to the Salvation Army (address) or the CNIB (address). Both parents and brothers Kees and Bert, brother-inlaw Gerard, predeceased Jerry. Born in Holland, January 10, 1926, Jerry worked at GM for 16 years and C&C Yachts. He loved gardening and also had a greenhouse business for several years. He was both a volunteer and President of the Ozanam Center, a volunteer at the Warehouse of Hope and was also a very active member of the Card Club Pioneers. Jerry will be greatly missed by Zoey. A talented musician, she played the guitar and sang, and she enjoyed the good humour of being called a Master Violist. She spent many happy times at the family camp in the St. Jean Trailer Park on Lake Nipissing. Jeannette will be remembered as a well liked person whose light and love inspired all who knew her. COUTURE ST-VINCENT, Lucienne 1916 - 2005 À Laval, le 12 novembre 2005, est décédée Mme Lucienne St-Vincent épouse de feu M. Alfred Couture, à l'âge de 89 ans.
