WEST SPRINGFIELD - Raymond L. Parent, 77, died Monday October 24, 2005 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in West Springfield July 2, 1928 and lived here his entire life. He was a 1946 graduate of West Springfield High School. Mr. Parent was a US Army veteran during WWII and later was a graduate of Bryant College. He owned and operated West Side Cleaners from 1960-1983. He was a member of East Longmeadow UNICO and West Springfield UNICO where he was past president. Mr. Parent also coached little league baseball. He leaves his wife of 53 years Elaine R. (Palombella) Parent, three sons: Mark Parent and his wife Shawn of Amherst, R. Scott Parent and his wife Susan of West Springfield and Christopher of West Springfield, a brother Arthur Parent and his wife Patricia of California, seven grandchildren: Erika, Danielle, Keith, Alexis, Ryan, Rachael, and Brett and two great grandchildren: Nya and Lennie. The committal service will be held Wednesday at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11am. No calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103 or to the charity of one's choice. BROOKFIELD— Raymond A. "Zeke" LeClair, 77, of Brookfield, died Sunday, October 23, 2005, in his residence. He leaves his wife of 22 years Clara (Avery) LeClair. A stepson, Phillip Merriam of Brookfield; 2 stepdaughters, Carolyn Merriam of Pelham & Jennifer Merriam Peterkin of Hardwick; a sister, Mildred Kurr of Sturbridge; four stepgrandchildren; nieces/nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George S. LeClair and two sisters, Sylvia Bonin & Lucille Fierro. Zeke was born in Southbridge, the son of Leo & Irene (Lomme) LeClair and had lived in Brookfield for 22 years formerly of Sturbridge. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict in the Philippines with the Air Police. He worked as a pipe fitter for 34 years at Monsanto Chemical in Ludlow before he retired. Zeke enjoyed reading, sports and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2005, at 10:00 AM in St. Anne Church, 16 Church St. in Fiskdale. Burial will be private for the family in Brookfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515. On Oct 24, 2005 Don passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with family at his side. Don will be deeply missed by his wife Jerry of 58 years; his sons Michael (Kathy), Russell (Shellie); and daughters Cheryle (Sheldon), Heather (Don), Penny and Cindy and by his grandchildren Ken (Tanya), Mark (Ashley) Kayla, Jessie, Danielle, Eddy, Dakota, Kareena, Teresa, Joel, Shaun, Matthew, along with three great grandchildren, Marisa, Connor, Alexis. During Don’s lifetime, he served in World War II. His career was with the Department of Transportation. Don was involved in following hobbies such as Toastmasters, President of a Swimming Club, officiating as a Timer during swim meets plus two of his favorite passions, an avid amateur radio operator and his love for horses. Don’s retirement years were spent on his acreage just outside of Ste. Anne. Funeral Memorial Service for Don will be held on Tuesday, November 1st at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Gardens (4000 Portage Ave) at 12:30 pm. Tea to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. Beloved husband of June (née McMichael) Bourque of Sudbury. Loving father of Léo Jr. (wife Vikki) of Garson, David (wife Milla) of Whitehorse, Yukon, Penny (husband James "Jim" Requarth) of Ignace, Debbie Tait (friend Bill Rivers) of Sudbury and Marc predeceased 1991 (wife Joyce of Little Current). A member of St. Mathieu's Roman Catholic Church, he worked as a foreman in the slag pit at Fisher Construction, retiring in 1985. Léo was a devoted husband and father and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, an avid fisherman and hunter, he was happiest at his camp in St. Charles. Léo will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Maurice A. Lambert, 68, of 700 Second Avenue, Berlin, NH, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on Sept. 26, 1937, the son of Joseph and Lauria (Therriault) Lambert, and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Lambert was a member of St. Joseph Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, a member of the Golden Age Club, a member of the Historical Society of Berlin and Gorham and a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad as a section man, from 1961 to November of 1989.Members of the family include his wife, Marjolaine H. (Lapointe) Lambert of Berlin; a daughter, Diane C. Lambert of Berlin; a son, Steven Lambert of Newington, CT; two grandchildren, Joseph and Eric; aunts, uncles a nephew and cousins.There will be no calling hours. NORTHAMPTON - Pearl (Magnan) Bingle, 69, of Northampton died Sunday October 23, 2005 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton surrounded by her loving daughter, Debbie, granddaughter, Kris and niece, Judy. She was born in Theodore, Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph and Dora (Delongchamp) Magnan and was educated in Holyoke Schools. She worked at Milton Bradley Company and Pratt and Austin Company. Pearl was an avid Bingo player. She was predeceased by her sons, Keith Bingle in 1991 and Todd Bingle in 2004. She is survived by a beloved daughter Debbie Clayton of Southampton and her sons, Richard of Connecticut, Roger and Kevin, both of Florida and Wayne of Westfield, one brother, Gilbert Magnan of Maine, three sisters, Rita Rabideau of Granby, Shirley Fisher of Westfield, and Jeanette Trudell of Alaska, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was born in Grosvenordale, September 9, 1917 a son of the late Arthur and Albina (Decelles) Mandeville.Mr. Mandeville had resided in Wauregan for 45 years, moving to Plainfield in 1990. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Mandeveille had been employed by Wyandotte Worsted Co. for many years and later worked for Pervel Industries retiring in 1982. He is survived by his beloved wife Felicite (Chicoine) Mandeville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Theodore, Hector, Rosario and Paul Mandeville; also four sisters, Lillian Beauregard, Stella Gibeault, Julienne Deloge and Francoise Boucher.The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from Dougherty Bros. Dorothy McFarlane (née Burke) Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel DOROTHY McFARLANE (Nee BURKE) Dorothy, wife of the late Frank McFarlane, peacefully passed away on Sunday October 23, 2005, at Jocelyn House at the age of 81 years. Dorothy is survived by her sons Gene and Ben (Sharon), her grandchildren Sean (Selena) and Dawn (Josh) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and son Billy. Dorothy was born in Minot, North Dakota and was raised in Winnipeg. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Forces (W.D.’s) in 1942. Dorothy and Frank met while working for CN Rail in 1948 and were happily married in 1950. Dorothy raised her children in Winnipeg and worked as a waitress, who was well-known as “Dot”. A large part of her career was spent working at the Airliner. Approaching her retirement Dorothy became involved with the R.C.A.F. (W.D.’s) Women’s Auxiliary and the Royal Canadian Legion where she devoted many hours of volunteer support. Dorothy made many friends through the Christian Fellowship Chapel and enjoyed her time spent with the Chapel’s senior’s group and family support members. Special friend Anne Miller since 1972 shared many good times and supported Dorothy and the family through many hardships. A special thank-you to the staff of Jocelyn House for their care and compassion. At Dorothy’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2005, at 10:00 a;m. at the Christian Fellowship Chapel, 465 Osborne Street, with Pastor Alan Dueck officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Marjorie Breslin Lion on September 13, 2005 in Conroe, Texas died on complications from Alzheimer's Disease at age 79. She was a long time resident of Metairie, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond J. HEILMAN, Joshua WWII Veteran Passed away Monday, October 24th, 2005 after a long illness. Beloved husband of Anna; father of Ariela and Noa. He was the grandfather to Jory, Danika, Jesse and Jacob. Josh is also fondly remembered by Ariela's husband Ray Faiola and Noa's husband Sheldon Schwartz. Josh Heilman was born in Lubaczow, Poland, July 24, 1921. He emigrated to Palestine in August of 1939 and served in the British Army in Palestine in North Africa during the Second World War and the Israeli Army during Israel's War of Independence in 1947. The Heilman family moved to Boston in 1958 and emmigrated to Ottawa in 1960. Between 1960 and 1975 Josh was a teacher and principal of the Hillel Academy Talmud Torah. Between 1975 and 1985 he worked in the federal government supply and services office and from 1975 to 2003 translated Hebrew and Yiddish documents for the Government of Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs Translation Office. Joshua Heilman was an active member of Agudath Israel Synagogue and the Jewish War Veterans of Canada. Yvonne Elizabeth Benedict Carriere, loving wife of the late Wilfred Francis Carriere, died on October 21, 2005. A life long resident of New Orleans, LA, she was 84 years old. CELINSKI, Halina (nee Plywaczewska ) Halina, pseudonym "Seliga" passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2005. Born in Szczytno, Poland in 1918 she completed Law Studies at Warsaw University, articled at the 9th District Juvenile Court and was appointed curator for juvenile delinquents. During the Second World War she served in the Polish Home Army and the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade. After the Warsaw Uprising she was held prisoner at the Sanbostel and Molsdorf oflags. Decommissioned in 1949 in England, she worked for the Polish National Treasury Commission there. After moving to Canada in 1952 she taught at the W. Podoski Polish School, worked in Ottawa at the Experimental Farm, the Juvenile Delinquency Institute and the Solicitor General's Office. She studied Psychology, Sociology and Criminology at the University of Ottawa. She was an active member of the Polish Combatants' Association and the Polish-Canadian Women's Federation. A tireless propagator of Polish Culture she volunteered her service in aiding Polish orphans, the Solidarity movement and new Polish immigrants to Canada. She was awarded the Army Medal, War Medal, Home Army Cross, Gold Combatant's Cross, Gold Merit Cross and the Ontario Volunteer Service Award. She will be greatly missed by her son Christopher, his father Olgierd, her grandchildren Ewa, Joanna and Piotr, her daughter-in-law Malgosia, her family and friends in Poland, the Ottawa Polish community and her Canadian friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Halina's Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 12 noon in St. Hyacinth's Church (Louisa and Lebreton Streets). BOW, Malcolm (Mac) N. Mac died peacefully at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital, Edmonton on October 20, 2005 at the age of 87. After serving with the Calgary Highlanders during World War II, Mac joined the Canadian Foreign Service and dedicated his career to the search for a lasting peace in the world. He was Vice-Consul in New York, Canada's Charge D'Affaires in Spain, and Canadian Ambassador to Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Cuba and Haiti. As Director of Arms Control and Disarmament, Mac worked for the ratification of the 1970 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Later in life Mac combined his continuing interest and involvement in Canadian foreign affairs with golf, reading and travelling. His loss is felt by Betty, his wife of 60 years, by daughter Jane and son-in-law Grant, son Michael and daughter-in-law Kelly, son Neil and daughter-in-law Leslie, and grandchildren Christopher, Sarah, Simon, Laura, Kevin, Sean and Katie. Sister Kathleen Guerin -- In Worcester, Oct. 24 at age 88. With the Sisters of Notre Dame for 70 years. Born in Co. Kerry, Ireland, daughter of Cornelius and Julia (O'Connor) Guerin. She was known as Sister Cornelius Julie for many years. Graduate of Emmanuel College with a masters degree in English from Boston College and a Ph.D. in Amercian Studies from the University of Minn. She taught at Notre Dame high schools including those in Lowell, Springfield, Waltham, Somerville and St. Augustine's in Boston. She was a Professor at Emmanuel College for 18 years, before retiring. She leaves a sister, Eileen Nesbitt, a niece, Linda Nesbitt both of East Brookfield; and her sisters in religion, the Sisters of Note Dame. Charles J. LaJoie, age 63, of North Tonawanda, died October 23, 2005 at his residence, after a long illness. Born May 4, 1942 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Fred and Luella (nee Miller) LaJoie, Sr. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was employed as a forklift operator at Battenfeld Grease and Oil in North Tonawanda, before retiring due to illness. He was the brother of the late Alfred LaJoie. He is survived by his companion, Gina Kraft; his son, Charles (Janet) LaJoie, Jr.; his daughter, Lori (Ron) Weaver; and a sister, Tiny (Peter) Tower. Also surviving are six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends after 1 PM on Thursday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets in Tonawanda, where a memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton.

THOMPSON, MURIEL G. Muriel G. Thompson passed away at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, Monday morning, October 24, 2005. Muriel, aged 86, was born in Fredericton. She is survived by her sons, Eric R. Thompson (Lynn) of Pincourt Quebec, and J. Keith Thompson (Rosalyn) of Fredericton; her sisters Edith Macleod of Houston, BC, Joyce Rickard and Lois Cameron and her brother Eric McMurtrie, all of Fredericton; and her grandchildren, Mark, Alison, Scott, David and Daniel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, John R.Thompson. Muriel worked at the Estey and Curtis Drug Company in Fredericton before marrying and moving to Lower Coverdale in 1946 where she made a home for John and her two boys, Eric and Keith. She also worked at Bruce Sutherlands and Shoppers Drug Mart, was a member of the choir and played the organ in the Lower Coverdale United Baptist Church. Muriel and John moved to Fredericton in 1990 and were members of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Her latter years were dedicated to the care and comfort of her husband. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Bishops Funeral Home, 580 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. The funeral service will be held at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, 150 Greenwood Drive, Fredericton, N.B. at 2:00 PM, Thursday October 27, 2005 with Rev. David Egers officiating. JORDAN, HERBERT (HERB) HOOPER The passing of Herbert (Herb) Hooper Jordan of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 20, 2005. Born August 7, 1919 at Franklin, Maine, USA, he was the eldest of seven children born to Carolyn (Hooper) and Leamon Jordan. He graduated from high school in Franklin, Maine; Farmington Teachers College and studied at Hussen Business College in Bangor, Maine. Following U.S. Army service in WWII, he settled in Lincoln, Nebraska where he found his niche in Real Estate. He lived there for 25 years before retiring to Ellsworth, Maine. There he developed Green Lake Vacation Cottages and built Oak Terrace Apartments in Ellsworth. Herb was a member of Benevolent Protection Order of Elks (BPOE) for 40 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Aubrey and brothers Donald, Gilbert, Langdon and Carrol. Survived by his wife Phyllis (Scova) Jordan; sisters, Hildred Jordan (Benjamin) and Arbine Gardiner (William); stepdaughter, Karon Croll (Jim); stepson, Reigh Sweezey (Elaine); brother-in-law Reigh Eldridge (Lois) sister-in-law, Jean Betuik (John); special niece and nephew, Claire and Len MacFarlane; step grandchildren, Kyle and Kassia Sweezey and special friend Shawn McCann.No visitation by request.
