M. Theresa Morrissette -- May 22, 1927 - October 21, 2005 -- CENTRAL VILLAGE- M. Theresa Morrissette, 78, of Central Village, died Friday at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Norwich on May 22, 1927, daughter of the late Omer and Mary Rose (Vezina) Fournier. She was married to the late Leandre (Lee) B. Morrissette, who died November 24, 1986. Mrs. Morrissette was a communicant of All Hallows Church in Moosup and St. Anne's Church in Ballouville. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing puzzles and watching UConn Women's Basketball, the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She is survived by one son, James Morrissette and his wife Deborah of Danielson; two daughters, Diane Ethier and her husband Jerome of Pomfret, Janice O'Brien and her husband Thomas of Central Village; one brother, Lucien Fournier and his wife Doris of Plainfield; one sister, Dora Frenette of Plainfield; four sistersinlaw, Dorothy Morrissette of Moosup, Jacqueline Trusheim of Iowa, Camille Rogers of Illinois and Patricia Fournier of Plainfield; one brotherinlaw, Edmond Taylor of Plainfield; six beloved grandchildren, whom she often cared for, Neal Ethier, Daniel Ethier, Matthew Morrissette and his wife Margaret, Dean O'Brien and his wife Julia, Justin O'Brien and Kimberly O'Brien; three great grandchildren, Alexandria Morrissette, Charlotte Morrissette, Julianna Morrisette, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Cecile Matry, Rita Taylor, Bertha Fournier, Roland Fournier and Gerard Fournier. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, at 11AM at St. Anne's Church, Ballouville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. HOLYOKE - Kathleen A. Hamel, beloved daughter of the late Wilber B. and Dorothy Hamel, died Saturday October 22,2005 at the Holyoke Medical Center. She was born and educated in Holyoke, attended the former Sacred Heart Schools, and received a degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee. Her graduate studies were done at Westfield State College. Kay was a dedicated veteran educator in the Holyoke Public Schools, retiring several years ago. She was a member of the Business and Professional Club of Greater Holyoke, as well as a member of the Aurora Circle, which serves and ministers to needy children. She was a leader of the Girl Scouts of America for many years. Kay was a Notary Public of Massachusetts, and served as chapter co-ordinator for the Massachusetts Arthritis Association, receiving an outstanding public service award as director of it's juvenile branch. An active member of the Salesian Father's Club, she received their highest award, a first class relic of Saint Dominic Savio, for her work with the youth of the community. Kay was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as a fund raiser for Catholic Charities. She was a longtime member of the church choir, and it's Blessed Virgin Society. She was predeceased by her brothers Wilber E. Hamel and Edward J. Hamel, as well as a sister Dorothy Harty. Kay is survived by a brother John F. Hamel and his wife Marie of Holyoke; two sisters: Clare Hart of Holyoke and Mary Wallace of Vista CA; a beloved niece Maureen Fitzpatrick and her husband Dan of Holyoke ; her nephews Timothy Harty of Holyoke, Edward Hart and his wife Anne of Holyoke, her Godson John Hamel of Holyoke, Michael Hart of NY City, and David Wallace and his wife Cristina of CA; her beloved grandnieces & grandnephews: John and Brian Hart of Holyoke, Michael and Meghan Hart of South Hadley, and Janae and Raechel Wallace of CA. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., followed by a Mass in Sacred Heart Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 11:00. BENNINGTON, Vt. -- Anne Elizabeth Cardinal, 77, of the Village of Fillmore Pond, a former resident of Adams, Mass., died Thursday after a long illness. Born in Hillsdale, Mich., on Jan. 26, 1928, daughter of Kenneth and Beatrice Kahle Huggett, she was educated there. Mrs. Cardinal was formerly employed as data processing manager at Emma L. Bixby Hospital in Adrian, Mich. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed reading and music. LeBlanc, age 46, of Danbury, died unexpectedly on Friday October 21, 2005.He was born July 13, 1959 in Portchester, N.Y., son of Edward LeBlanc and the late Concetta (Rossitto) LeBlanc.He was a graduate of Danbury High School and attended Norwalk Community College.He was employed for many years by Star Distributorship and most recently as a painter with Mead Construction.In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, Kenneth A. LOWELL -- Mrs. Ruth D. (Phillips) Tremblay, 82, a Lowell resident who was a registered nurse at local hospitals and a nursing home in the city, died yesterday, Oct. 23, at the Northwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lowell. She was the wife of Gerard A. Tremblay, who died Dec. 1, 1982.She was born in Lowell, July 28, 1923, daughter of the late John and Mary E. (Draper) Phillips, and granddaughter of the late Senator Henry Draper of Massachusetts. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1941. She also graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.Before retiring in 1983, Mrs. Tremblay was the director of nurses at Glendale's Nursing Home in Woburn. Previously, she was the director of nurses at Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell. She was also a private duty nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and other local hospitals.Mrs. Tremblay lived many years in the Pawtucketville section of the city. She was a communicant of St. Rita Church, where she was a drum cadet.She is survived by a son, Joseph A. Tremblay and his significant other, Suzanne de Lesdernier of Lowell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and John Golden, Susette (Lessard) (Sech) (Thompson) Tremblay, all of Pelham, Cheryl R. and Leo Chartier of Shirley; eight grandchildren, John Golden of Manchester, N.H., Michael Golden of Nashua, Lisa Dejadon and her husband, Michael of Dracut, Coreen Vigeant of Pelham, Shane Findley of Exeter, N.H., Beau, Cherie, and Eric Chartier, all of Shirley; five great-grandchildren; two nieces, and a nephew.She was the sister of Christine Hogan of Lowell, who died Nov. 18, 1999, and the late Avery D. Gerald William Kennedy May 03, 1921 - October 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Castle Funeral Home-Fallsview Chapel KENNEDY, GERALD W. -- The death of Gerald W. Kennedy occurred on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing, Saint John. He was 84. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late John Murray Kennedy and Mary Margaret (Caples) Kennedy, and husband of the late Ruth (Housen) Kennedy. During World War II, he served his country as a member of The First Special Service Force (Devil's Brigade). Later, he was a firefighter in Saint John and CFB Gagetown. After his retirement, he served as a member of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. Survived by two sons, Blake (Maureen) Kennedy of Rusagonis, and Kevin (Lisa) Kennedy of Barrie, ON; one daughter, Joanne (Lee) Boyer of Grand Bay-Westfield; son-in-law Rick Demmings of Fredericton; sisters Theresa (Bert) MacDonald of Oromocto and Connie Smith of Saint John. He was a beloved "Bumpy" to his 10 grandchildren, Aaron (Karen) Kennedy, Sarah Kennedy, Scott (Becky) Curran, Mark Curran, Brent Curran, Lindsey Kennedy, Kadey Kennedy, Chelsey Kennedy, Keenan Kennedy and Mollie Kennedy; and five great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Ethan, Landen, Caleb and Julia. DUMONT, LUCIEN A., 93, of Rhodes Street, North Smithfield and formerly of Baldwin Street, Pawtucket, died Friday at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Eveline (Pelletier) Dumont. Born in St. Gertrude, P.Q. Canada a son of the late Hormidas and Maria (Baril) Dumont, he came to the U.S. at a young age and was a Pawtucket resident most of his life. He moved to North Smithfield in 1999.Prior to retiring in 1974, Mr. Dumont was a former communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Pawtucket and a former member of the Woodlawn Senior Citizens Club, the LeFoyer Club and Jacques Cartier Society all of Pawtucket.He is survived by four daughters, Rose Fournier of Hope Valley, Evelyn LaMontagne of Jupiter, Florida, Irene Soucy of Lincoln and Rita LaMontagne of Chepachet; two brothers, Paul Dumont of Cumberland and Edouard Dumont of Smithfield; four sisters, Yvette Plante of Johnston, Lucille Paquette of New Hampshire, Therese Girouard and Jeanne Dumont both of Lincoln. He leaves 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. SYLVIA M. ROZON MANHATTAN, Mont. — Sylvia M. Rozon, 59, of Manhattan, died Oct. 3, 2005, as the result of a boating accident at Lake Powell, Utah. Sylvia was born Nov. 15, 1945, daughter of Millie and Lyman Ford of Essex, Vt. She graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1963. She married Richard Rozon on May 29, 1966. They lived in the Essex and Jeffersonville area for several years before moving to Montana. In addition to her husband, Dick, Sylvia is survived by two sons, James and his wife, Monica of Manhattan, Brian and his wife, Sally, of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Tina, of Bozeman, Penny of Vergennes, Vt., and Vickie of Belgrade; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Leola Bennett of Middlebury, Vt. She also leaves a very close friend, Caroline Cross of Milton, Vt. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. in the United Church, Main Street, Milton.

Virginia Mae Powley Dugas, age 84, passed away Thursday October 20, 2005. She was born in Hoopeston, Illinois on October 3, 1921 to Harold J. & Lorena (Livingston) Powley. After graduating from high school, Virginia worked at Marshall Fields in Chicago. After the war she moved to Florida where she met and married her husband, Norman. She worked on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida. She moved to San Antonio in 1952 with her husband so he could pursue a career in the construction industry. Virginia was a faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman; son, Norman T. Dugas Jr. and wife Beverly; grandchildren, Jeff and Laura Dugas; brothers, Larry and Gerald Powley; sisters, Doris Nussear and Dorothy Schwartz; numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice Richard Junot 87, of Nederland, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 20, 2005 at home while reciting her rosary. Bea was born in Creole, Louisiana on May 11, 1918. She moved to Nederland with her parents, Joe and Eva Richard, at a very young age and remained in this area until her death. She was retired from the Nederland Independent School District. Bea was a charter member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a member of the St. Charles Lauders and the Legion of Virgin Mary. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Edward G. Junot, three brothers, one sister, a grandson, George E. Junot, Jr., and her faithful poodle companion, "Missy". Survivors include her daughter, Verdia M. Miller of Nederland; two sons, George E. Junot and wife, Cheryl of Sulphur, Louisiana, Jerry J. Junot and wife, Pat of Nederland. Brothers, Ambrose Richard and wife, Eula of Winnie, Joe Lee Richard and wife, Norma of Nederland; four grandchildren, Jennifer Junot Johnson and husband, Jason, Benjamin Junot, Lanny Goins, and Brooke Junot, and one great grandson, Luke Edward Johnson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews that was dear to her heart, especially Sandra Lou. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-9 pm Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Broussard's Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland with a Rosary being recited at 7:30 pm. She was born in Fitchburg on June 21, 1914, the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Dubois) Lessard and resided in Clinton and West Boylston before moving to Lancaster 37 years ago.She had attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Lancaster. For nearly 60 years, Mrs. Dewitt owned and operated the Modern Beauty Salons with locations in Clinton, Sterling, and Lancaster before she retired in 1996.Mrs. Dewitt was a member of the American Hairdressers Association. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid bridge player.She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Ajay Ghia of Camarillo, Calif. and Jane D.
