Desmarais Parent Irène 1911 - 2005 À Montréa, le 20 octobre 2005, à l'âge de 94 ans, est décédée Madame Irène Parent Desmarais, épouse de Théobald Desmarais,. qui lui a été présent de manière très spéciale et constante, toute sa vie et particulièrement durant ses années de maladie. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Marie- Marcelle, soeur de la Congrégation de Notre-Dame, sa soeur Annette,sa belle-soeur Thérèse (feu Roger David), ses nièces et ses neveux bien-aimés. La vie d'Irène Desmarais a été simple mais profondément donnée. Elle a toujours soutenu son époux dans ses responsabilités professionnelles et sociales. Elle n'avait qu'une fille. Sans le savoir, par ses décisions et initiatives, elle lui a transmis un héritage d'ouverture sociale, culturelle, d'attention à la personne, aux répercussions aujourd'hui internationales. Maizy Lee 1917 - 2005 Maizy s’en est allée tout doucement, selon sa volonté, ce 18 octobre 2005, à Gatineau, secteur Hull. Elle est partie rejoindre sa mère, Arthémise Bernier, trop tôt disparue, son père, James Robert Lee, ses frères, James, Edwin, Lennox, Donald, Stanley, sa sœur Mary Kate, de même que son mari, Émile Cantin, décédé à La Tuque, le 10 juillet 1996. Elle laisse, pour se souvenir tendrement d’elle, ses trois fils, Pierre (Jacqueline Potvin), Robert et Jean (Suzanne Régnier) ainsi que ses trois petits-fils, Jean-François, Dominic et Olivier, ses sœurs Grethel et Juanita (Patrick Renaud) et son frère Steven (Marie-Claire Laplante), ses belles-sœurs Lucienne Hains et Thérèse Simard, ses cousines Eileen et Joan Lee, auxquels s’ajoutent ses amis très chers, fils et filles de feu madame Germaine Dussault Cadoret, que nous appelions affectueusement tante Marie : Pierrette et Raymond Desmeules, Édouard et Yvette Vallée, Pauline et Serge Bégin, Michel et Claude. CHRETIEN, Jean B. (Canadian Tourism Commission) On Sunday, October 16, 2005, in his 58th year. Dear partner of Paul Benoit. Loved by many brothers and sisters. Jean was appointed Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales for the CTC on March 1, 2004 and early 2005 was appointed Senior Vice President of Brand Implementation. His involvement in tourism began in 1981 when he served as Executive Assistant to the Federal Minister of Small Business and Tourism. From 1984 to 1986 he held several positions in the federal Department of Industry Trade and Commerce and in 1987 became Director of Product Development for Tourism Canada. Since 1990 Jean was the Executive Vice President of Tourism Montreal. From August 1997 to December 1999 he participated on an executive interchange with the CTC as Senior Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer where he oversaw the process to transition the CTC into a crown corporation. HAWKSHAW, Allin 1921 - 2005 Born in Dalmeny, Ontario, the son of John and Lillian Hawkshaw. He assisted in working the family farm before completing his course at the Ottawa Teachers' College. He taught briefly before enlisting in the RCAF during the 2nd World War. He served overseas in England then in India as a pilot in a Beaufort squadron. He survived twice with his crew being downed in the Indian Ocean. After the war he continued in the RCAF in Canada flying a variety of aircraft including the Lancaster bomber. Following his retirement from the RCAF he served in the public relations department of a media firm in Toronto and later held a senior position in the Ontario Department of Agriculture. He retired to Langley, BC, where he lived until his death. He is survived by his brother Knox Hawkshaw (Barbara) of Brampton, ON, and predeceased by his sisters Aulda Wood (Wally) and Thelma Carter (John) and a cousin F/O Royden Bradley who died in 1944 while piloting his Lancaster over Danzig. NEGODAEFF, Irene Edna (nee Graham) Our beautiful Mummie left us, peacefully, on Friday, October 14, just before noon, at the age of 89. A veteran of WW II, Rene had spent 10 years working on London's Daily Express newspaper before she joined the Women's Land Army to help keep England eating. She met our Dad at the Overseas Club just after the War, and they married a year later.
