LEWISTON - Noella B. Dumais, 84, of Lewiston, died Oct. 21, at Marshwood Nursing Home following a brief illness.She was born in Auburn on Dec. 22, 1920, the only child of Joseph and Clara Brillant. She was educated in Lewiston schools.Prior to her retirement, she worked at Crest Shoe. She and her husband enjoyed delivering cars for Fordland up until January 2002.She was an enthusiastic sports fan, enjoying professional baseball, hockey and football.She is survived by her husband, Antonin, whom she recently celebrated 65 years of marriage with on Sept. 2; two daughters, Pauline Dumais and Lucille Fortin; one son, Marcel and wife, Linda, all of Lewiston; and grandsons, Roland Fortin of Colorado, Daniel and Sunsearae of Greene, and David Dumais of Milford, Mass.The family wishes to express their thanks to Marshwood Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Mom during her short stay.

CHRETIEN, Jean B. (Canadian Tourism Commission) On Sunday, October 16, 2005, in his 58th year. Dear partner of Paul Benoit. Loved by many brothers and sisters. Jean was appointed Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales for the CTC on March 1, 2004 and early 2005 was appointed Senior Vice President of Brand Implementation. His involvement in tourism began in 1981 when he served as Executive Assistant to the Federal Minister of Small Business and Tourism. From 1984 to 1986 he held several positions in the federal Department of Industry Trade and Commerce and in 1987 became Director of Product Development for Tourism Canada. Since 1990 Jean was the Executive Vice President of Tourism Montreal. From August 1997 to December 1999 he participated on an executive interchange with the CTC as Senior Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer where he oversaw the process to transition the CTC into a crown corporation. HAWKSHAW, Allin 1921 - 2005 Born in Dalmeny, Ontario, the son of John and Lillian Hawkshaw. He assisted in working the family farm before completing his course at the Ottawa Teachers' College. He taught briefly before enlisting in the RCAF during the 2nd World War. He served overseas in England then in India as a pilot in a Beaufort squadron. He survived twice with his crew being downed in the Indian Ocean. After the war he continued in the RCAF in Canada flying a variety of aircraft including the Lancaster bomber. Following his retirement from the RCAF he served in the public relations department of a media firm in Toronto and later held a senior position in the Ontario Department of Agriculture. He retired to Langley, BC, where he lived until his death. He is survived by his brother Knox Hawkshaw (Barbara) of Brampton, ON, and predeceased by his sisters Aulda Wood (Wally) and Thelma Carter (John) and a cousin F/O Royden Bradley who died in 1944 while piloting his Lancaster over Danzig. KATIC, David Unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in Sutton, Ontario in his 88th year. Is survived by his wife (Eva) and his 2 sons (Marko and John). David had a rich and full life, born in a small village in Serbia, escaped as a POW, and became a RAF pilot, stationed in Kenya (where his sons were born). He immigrated to Canada in 1952 and joined the Weston Chess Club where he was reigning chess champion for many years. He became skilled as a watchmaker, carpenter, mechanic, electrician, and TV repairman and precision instrument maker, all leading to a productive life in his new home in Canada. Alma Allain BOUCTOUCHE COVE, NB - Alma Allain, 81, of Bouctouche Cove, NB, passed away at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent, NB on Friday, October 21, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born in Bouctouche, NB on January 3, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Allain and the late Mélina Richard. She was a Home Maker and she attended Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. Alma is survived by two sisters, Emerise Allain and Lina Allain both of Bouctouche Cove; two brothers, Lionel of Bouctouche Cove, Gerard of Sainte-Anne de Kent; two sisters-in-law, Marie Allain of Saint-Joseph de Kent, and Germaine Allain of Moncton; one aunt, Lorraine Allain of Bouctouche; and also by several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one sister, Alice (2001); five brothers, Aurèle (1996), Leonard (1998), Calixte (2002), Eddie (2002) and Joseph in infancy. She enjoyed yard sales, shopping and most of all, being with her family whom she loved so much. As a young woman, she was employed with the Uniacke family, in Mount Uniacke, before the home became a museum. She also worked for 5 years at the Haliburton Museum, Windsor, until her retirement. She dedictated her entire life to loving and caring for her family. Leona Aytheryne Foley 1936 - 2005 Leona Autheryne Foley of 689 County Road 2 of Lansdowne passed away August 22, 2005 at Kingston General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lyn, Ontario, educated at Seeleys School, Brockville Col legiate and Vocational School and later attended Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing Program. Leona graduated with an RN in the class of 58A. She worked at Smiths Falls Regional Hospital and Brockville General Hospital. After marrying Bruce E. Foley of Lan sdowne on June 4th, 1960 in Christ United Church of Lyn, she moved to Lansdowne. Leona worked part-time for the VON and at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, where she retired in 1996. Leona then worked at Gananoque Pharmasave until failing health forced her t o retire in 2004. Leona was predeceased by her mother and father, Pearl (nee Green) and Ernest Hanna of Lyn. She was also predeceased by three brothers in infancy. Leona is survived by one brother, Raymond Hanna and her husband Bruce E. Foley, three daughters, Kim Piazzi, Kingston, Shawna Dowd (Stephen) Gananoque, Tanya Garofalo (Marcel) Kingston and one son Michael (Renee) Lansdowne. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Leona loved life and loved to travel. She made long lasting friends which a ttributed to her large Memorial Service held on August 25 at Grace United Church, officiated by Reverend George Lavery. She worked at several area stores among which were Walgreen’s and Market Basket.Mary Ann was a member of the Ladies Aux. of the Amvets Post 29 of Fitchburg for many years. She was 99 and a native of Breaux Bridge. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Billie B. and Rodney Hymel, White Castle; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Lucille Borel, New Iberia; five grandchildren, Rodney D. Hymel Jr., Bethesda, Md., Donna Borel, Liz Yoder and Michael Borel, all of New Iberia, and Diane Sessions, Clearwater, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Mykala and Max Borel and Sean and Ryan Yoder. LaPLANT, Leo - Passed away October 13, 2005 at the age of 84. Leo, a forth generation San Franciscan, was born on February 27, 1921. He grew up in San Francisco and developed a love of sailing on San Francisco Bay. In 1939, in college, Leo met Lucy (Lucille Storie, a fifth generation Californian), the love of his life and his best friend. They were married on December 25, 1942 in Berkeley, CA. Leo and Lucy spent their 63 years of marriage in the Bay Area, in Berkeley and Orinda. With their keen interest in travel, they enjoyed many cruises and visited 70 countries around the world. Leo's avid interest in aviation led him to obtain his private pilot's license and eventually his own airplane, enjoying many hours of flying with friends and family. His favorite times were spent entertaining his many close friends, attending Cal football games and enjoying frequent family gatherings. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, his warm smile and his love for his wife and family. Leo is survived by his adored wife of 63 years, Lucy; his children, Michael LaPlant (Michele) of San Diego, Susan O'Connor (Paul) of S. Lake Tahoe and Julie Henderson (Bob) of Hawaii and Berkeley. FITCHBURG -- Elsie (LeBlanc) Leger, 90, of Leominster Crossings and formerly of 279 Daniels St. and 110 St. Joseph Ave., died Friday, Oct. 21, at the HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster. She was the widow of Edmond Leger, who died in 1982. Mrs. Leger was born in Fitchburg, Jan. 6, 1915, a daughter of Philomon and Melina (Richard) LeBlanc and was been a lifelong Fitchburg resident. Mrs. Leger had worked in the cafeteria at Fitchburg High School for 10 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that she worked as an upholsterer at Selig Company. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fitchburg and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the retired Women’s Club. Mrs. Leger also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and pinochle. Mrs. Leger enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mrs. Leger is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard D. and Paula Leger of Leominster; two daughters and son-in-laws, Diane and Joseph Thibaudeau of Ashby and Deidre and Paul Pierce of Burlington. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Leon J. LeBlanc, Lionel LeBlanc and Edgar LeBlanc, all of Fitchburg. Gerard "Gerry" Lepine -- 1947 - 2005 -- Gerard "Gerry" Lepine, 58, was called by our Lord, Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, after a short three-month battle with stomach cancer.Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
