LEE -- Joseph J. Laflamme, 19, of 510 East St. died Thursday as the result of an auto accident in Schodack, N.Y. A first-year student at Maryland Bible College and Seminary in Baltimore, he was heading to Massachusetts to attend a Christian Youth Rally in Marlborough. Born in Pittsfield on July 4, 1986, son of Gerard G. and Mary Powers Laflamme, he was educated in Lee schools and was a 2005 graduate of Lee High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team, the high school and jazz bands, and the National Honors Society. In his younger years, he played Pee-Wee football. He was a member of Greater Grace Church of the Berkshires, where he was a worship leader, and a member of the Inner City Christian Youth Program in Pittsfield and in Baltimore. Besides his parents, of Lee, he leaves two brothers, David A. Laflamme, also a student at the college in Baltimore, and Matthew S. Laflamme of Lee; his paternal grandparents, Gaston and Mignonne Laflamme of Cumming, Ga., and his maternal grandparents John and Elizabeth Powers of Acton. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Joseph J. Laflamme will be held Tuesday at 11 at Greater Grace Church of the Berkshires, 160 High St., Lee. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Lee. Visiting hours at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238, will be Monday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Joseph Laflamme Scholarship Fund at Greater Grace Church. Joe's greatest passion was to share Jesus Christ with people. He was often heard saying, "If you died today, where would you go?" He wanted people to know about the reality of Heaven, and that to receive Christ as Savior is the most important decision a person can make. He was a true Ambassador for Christ. WILBRAHAM - Annie B. (Romano) Duperre, 83, of Brookside Drive, former employee of Milton Bradley, died Thursday in a local nursing home. She was an assembler for 15 years at Milton Bradley before retiring in 1984, she also worked at Sunshine Art Studio in East Longmeadow for 15 years. Born in Plymouth MA, Annie lived in Springfield before moving to Wilbraham ten years ago. Her beloved husband of 44 years, John B. Duperre predeceased her in 1990. Annie is survived by her son, Lloyd J. of East Longmeadow; her daughter, Denise L. Barcome of Wilbraham with whom she made her home; a brother, Peter Romano of Florida; two sisters, Millie Joubert of Springfield and Louise Mederious of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Sean, Jeff and Kevin, and two great-grandchildren Amanda and Jeffrey. Her two brothers, Minty and Jerry Romano, predeceased her. The funeral will be on Monday 8:45 a.m. at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home on 220 N. Main St. in East Longmeadow, with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Cecelia's Church in Wilbraham, followed by her burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Pamela A. Dube, nee Snobel, 56, mother of two wonderful children, Matthew and Heather, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 of lung cancer at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital. She is survived by Richard F. Dube, her husband of 32 years, whom she met in Economics class at Morton West High School, Berwyn, IL, in 1965. A 23-year resident of Hinsdale, IL, Pam received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and was a teacher in the Head Start Program of the Chicago public school system. A fabulous mom, an enthusiastic cook and hostess, a dedicated wife, and a community volunteer, Pam was also a fiercely loyal and generous friend to many. In addition to Richard, Matthew and Heather, she is survived by her mother, Anita Snobel; father, Richard Snobel; son-in-law, Richard Johnson; sister, Carol and husband, Daniel Goodwin; sister, Linda Ignace; four nieces, Julie Tice, Jennifer Blaha, Lindsey Ignace and Aubrey Ignace; and nephew, Alan Ignace. A memorial/celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at The Hyatt Lodge/McDonald's Campus in the Prairie Ballroom at 7 p.m. Dr. Thomas S. Dickelman will lead the celebration. A reception will be held thereafter. Beverly A. (Vaillancourt) O'Rourke, 71, beloved wife of the late Ralph O'Rourke passed away Friday, (October 21, 2005) at Kimberly Hall Nursing Center in Windsor. Born in Bristol she lived in Windsor for the past seven years. She leaves her daughter, Sue Southworth and her husband, David, of Windsor; and two grandchildren, Tracy and Ryan Southworth of Windsor. Mrs. Gendron was employed for the US Rubber Company for 12 years and Leviton Mfg. Co. for 11 years and retired in 1972. Emma Louise Robert Rosenwiesen, wife of the late Maks Rosenwiesen. Beloved daughter of the late Gabriel Joseph Robert and Emma Catherine Picou Robert. Born in Honey Island, LA, later resident of New Orleans, LA before moving to Metairie, LA where she lived for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and received the Order of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She was a member of the Young Elders, the Golden Agers, and AARP. She retired from Hibernia National Bank after thirty-eight years. She was president of the New Orleans Bond Club. Sisters, Blanche Roberts and Nedric Roberts Seymour; sister-in-law Lucille Roberts and many nieces and nephews survive her. Six brothers and two sisters precede her in death. The Funeral Services were held on October 18, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas where she was evacuated after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. MARSTONS MILLS - Victoria C. (Yanick) Morin, 88, died Wednesday at Harborside Healthcare, Mashpee, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Nelson H. Morin, who died in 2000. They were married for 61 years. Mrs. Morin was born in Woonsocket, R.I., and lived most of her life in Millville. After her husband's retirement, she and her husband divided their time between Florida and Marstons Mills, where they enjoyed golf, boating and travel. She was a member of Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, Fla., Timber Greens Golf Club in New Port Richey, Fla., and Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course in Marstons Mills. She was a resident of Harbor Point Assisted Living in Centerville and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara M. Lynch of Marstons Mills; a son, Richard N. of Cottage Grove, Minn.; a sister, Amelia Lavergne of Millville; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. FAIRFIELD -- Eugene "Gene" Joseph Rancourt, 65, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville. He was born in Waterville, Nov. 10, 1939, the son of Leo and Marie (Roy) Rancourt. Mr. Rancourt was a Waterville High School graduate and an Army veteran, having served for two years in Germany. He loved walking three miles from his residence to McDonald's where he met his friends every day. He loved rebuilding his home in Fairfield. He was a collector of old tools, compact discs and was a lover of music. He was a member of Bourque-Lanigan Post, American Legion, in Waterville. He was very proud of his two grandsons. Robert Mann November 23, 1932 - October 19, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel Robert (Bob) Mann Peacefully on October 19, surrounded by his family, Bob passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 72 years. Bob left this earth for a better place; one without pain and suffering. His battle with cancer was long but he persevered with dignity and courage. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 43 years Vivian (nee Bibiane Lagacé), his brother Jim, his sister-in-law Irène Lagacé, his brother-in-law Gérard Lagacé and many devoted nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather Susan and Leslie Glasspole, and most recently by his sister-in-law Margaret Mann. Bob was born on November 23, 1932 in Brandon, Manitoba where he was educated and spent his early years. In Winnipeg, Bob was employed by Bryce’s Bakery and Old Dutch Foods for many years. He was a very dedicated employee and treasured the relationships he developed with his customers on his Old Dutch route. He retired from the company in 1992. Bob had various interests and hobbies including photography, wine making, model airplanes, model railroads, woodworking, and of course fishing at Gammon River. Bob and his wife enjoyed many years at their trailer at Lac du Bonnet. They worked very well together at the “Cook Shack” preparing special dinners for the members of the Heather Game and Fish Club. Bob was an outgoing and intelligent man. He was an avid reader, a good listener and always genuinely interested in the lives and activities of those he knew and loved. His hard work and organizational abilities led him to become one of the founding members of both the Flying Fishermen of Gammon River and The Heather Game and Fish Club. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lui and Gerry Ogilvie of Cancer Care. They would also like to express their appreciation to Dr. Shadd and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit 3E at Riverview Health Centre. CHARTIER, WILFRED "Bill" G. Cdr. USN (Retired) August 21, 1919 to October 15, 2005 Wilfred "Bill" G. Chartier, Cdr. USN (Ret), 86, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 in his Santa Barbara home in Maravilla, sitting in his favorite recliner with his hands folded in his lap and his head slightly tilted. He had hopefully gotten through the Notre Dame football game he was watching. On Sunday, he was being picked up by his daughter, Antoinette, to come live with her family until his sciatica episode subsided but the Lord took him first. He was born in Manistique, Michigan, August 21, 1919 to W.J. and Leda (La Chappelle) Chartier. He lost his mother when he was very young. Bill went to Marquette University where he played varsity basketball. He met Elayne Kaap, his future wife in the 8th grade in Green Bay Wisconsin where they both grew up. Bill was a Knight Grand Cross of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a group that Practices the virtue of Charity, supporting and prayerfully aiding the Church and the preservation of the Catholic religion in the Holy Land! Until he moved to Santa Barbara in February of this year, to be near his daughter, he was active in the Serra Club (2 time Past President), Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, played tennis with passion until he was 84 ½ years old, and was a big supporter of Vocations for Priests. He was a member of St. Therese Parish for over 30 years. He is survived by his devoted and beloved children, Randy Chartier, his wife Mary, Antoinette Chartier, her husband Brian Nash and grandchildren, Richard Chartier and Francesca Nash. His brother also survives him, Melvin Chartier of Las Vegas, Nevada. Bill was married (59 years!) to his beloved and cherished Elayne Rita Kaap on October 17th, 1941. He was preceded in death by Elayne on December 30, 2000. His brothers, Russell Chartier and Clarence Chartier, with whom he was close, also preceded him in death. His 32-year distinguished Naval Career included serving on (8) ships and (6) shore stations, including the Pentagon, Italy, Philippines, San Diego, Norfolk, Guam, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Cuba. This included (3) command tours and (4) assignments as Executive Officer. He was a proud WWII Veteran where he served on LSM(R) Rocket Ships. He earned his Bronze Star for a battle on May 11, 1945 in the Pacific. He earned a Bronze Star and a Silver Star in WWII and numerous medals and commendations throughout his career. Following Navy retirement in 1970, he spent (5) years in the Social Service field in San Diego and then (8) years as an administrator for the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration (now entitled FEMA). "Daddy/Bill...we will we will always love you and miss you. The light will embrace you without doubt...our example in life, in all aspects, was an inspiration to all. You were always such a good and pure manand a kind loving father and husband...you were the absolute awesome 'real man' who always modeled his beliefs." His presence will be missed every day and his impact on his family and friends is immeasurable. "Goodbye my sweet Prince...for you truly were a Prince amongst men." Roger was an avid sports fan, a movie buff, enjoyed travelling, had a great passion for reading and will be remembered for his great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Miss Marjorie Eileen Nicholas March 20, 1920 - October 18, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Marjorie Eileen Nicholos age 85, of Amherst passed away suddenly at the Q.E.II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax, N.S. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruby (Foreman) Nicholas. Before retirement, she had been employed by Nova Scotia Power Corporation, Canada Car and by Canada Electric. She was a life-long member of Christ Church, Amherst and a former member of its choir, the A.C.W. and the Altar Guild. She belonged to the Tantramar Chapter of the I.O.D.E. Over her lifetime Marjorie enjoyed cultural events, especially music. Like her father, she was a watercolour artist, and she loved nature, hiking and her garden. She enjoyed sports, especially babminton. When she visited old friends, everyone enjoyed her stories and sense of humour. She is survived by many good friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents and her aunt Gladys Foreman. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 3 p.m. from Christ Church, Amherst with Archdeacon Glenn Eason and Father David Myles officiating, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. He is survived by his wife Vivian of North Bay, and by his sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, of Ohio and Virginia. Jim was a life member of the Masonic Blue Lodge #561, North Baltimore, Ohio and the Scottish Rights, Valley of Toledo, Ohio. He was the founder and original owner of Lakes Mold and Machine Company of Akron, Ohio. James was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the carrier, USS Belleau Wood in the South Pacific during World War II. He was accepted into the doctoral program in the Chemistry Dept. at the University of Colorado, Boulder, at the time of his diagnosis, but was unable to attend due to his illness. He was a member of the American Chemical Society. Steven enjoyed skiing, soccer, hiking, all Boston sports teams, and he especially loved Vermont.
