NAGLE, INA The passing of Ina Nagle of Pembroke, Ontario, occurred in Vancouver, BC on Sunday, October 16, 2005, following a lengthy illness with Schleroderma, at the age of 42 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Inez (Hovey) and Oran Nagle of Ludlow, NB. Survived by her children, Nathan and Tamra-Lee of Pembroke, Ontario. Three sisters, Katherine (Neil) Townsend of Vancouver, BC, Sheila (Glen) Karandjas of Napean, Ontario, Shelley of Mississauga, Ontario and Barbara of Etobicoke, Ontario. Two brothers, Byron (Carolin) Nagle, and twin brother Ian Nagle all of Pembroke, Ontario. Numerous aunt, uncles and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by grandparents Raymond and Alberta (MacKay) Hovey of Porter Cove, NB and Pearle and Fred Palmer of Ludlow, NB. FITCHBURG -- Elsie (LeBlanc) Leger, 90, of Leominster Crossings and formerly of 279 Daniels St. and 110 St. Joseph Ave., died Friday, Oct. 21, at the HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster. She was the widow of Edmond Leger, who died in 1982. Mrs. Leger was born in Fitchburg, Jan. 6, 1915, a daughter of Philomon and Melina (Richard) LeBlanc and was been a lifelong Fitchburg resident. Mrs. Leger had worked in the cafeteria at Fitchburg High School for 10 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that she worked as an upholsterer at Selig Company. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fitchburg and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the retired Women’s Club. Mrs. Leger also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and pinochle. Mrs. Leger enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mrs. Leger is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard D. and Paula Leger of Leominster; two daughters and son-in-laws, Diane and Joseph Thibaudeau of Ashby and Deidre and Paul Pierce of Burlington. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Leon J. LeBlanc, Lionel LeBlanc and Edgar LeBlanc, all of Fitchburg. LEGER -- Elsie (LeBlanc) Leger, 90, of Leominster. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10: 30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24, at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg. ALBERTY, Raymond Joseph 1935-2004 - The family and friends of Ray are invited to gather at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Bay, at the family plot adjacent to the Administration Building, on Saturday, October 22nd, at 2:30 p.m. for a brief memorial service, followed by light refreshments and a celebration of his life to be held at Average Joe's, 3501 Trout Lake Road. Ray died suddenly at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto, as the result of a heart attack, on April 5th, 2004, eight days before his 69th birthday. Cremation followed. Interment has taken place. After finishing High School in North Bay, Ray worked for Imperial Oil in North Bay. He later moved to Toronto, where he worked for the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto from 1977 to 1987. He worked for CIBC World Markets Equity Research from 1987 until his retirement in January 2004. Ray had a lifetime love of horses, and enjoyed horseback riding. He was predeceased by his sister Cookie (Colombe) Boucher in 2001. He is sadly missed by his sister Teresa Hands (Ray) of Waterloo. Also surviving him are nieces and nephews - Mark Boucher, Kathy Boucher, Dan Forrest, Donna Rae (Forrest) Clancy, and Richard Hands.

BRIGGS, WINNIFRED MAE The death of Winnifred Mae Briggs of Oromocto occurred Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Florence McGaghey. Winnie is survived by three sons, Gilbert Briggs (Karen) of Tracy, NB, Thomas Briggs (Laura) of Kingston, ON, and Frank Briggs of Portage La Prairie, MB; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald Briggs in 2001 and a son David. There is no visitation scheduled. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Scotchtown United Church, Scotchtown, NB with Rev. K. Ruth Stuart officiating. Diplômé de la Faculté des Sciences et de génie de l’Université Laval en 1953, il a été très actif dans l’industrie de la construction au Québec ainsi qu’au sein de la fonction publique québécoise où il a notamment occupé les fonctions de sous-ministre au Ministère des Approvisionnements et services et secrétaire associé au Conseil du Trésor. HACKLEY, Bernard After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Bernie passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by his parents Bridget and Norman. He leaves behind, in Canada, his nephews Tony and Michael and their families, who will miss him dearly. Also left behind are many relatives in England with whom he visited regularly and are saddened by his passing. Bernie will be missed in the unique community in which he lived, especially by Marlene whose care helped him through his final weeks. During his 48 years in Canada he has made many good friends, especially Moe, with whom he spent many hours building and flying their planes and who brought him great comfort in his final hours. At Bernie's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. MACK, Mary (nee Metz) Peacefully at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her beloved husband Alex of 62 years and siblings Catherine, Anne and Mike. Left to mourn are daughters Lianne (Florian Tanguay) and Nadine (Chris Dzisiak), grandchildren Eve and Leo, sisters Natalie (Gerry Cooper) and Louise (Lorne Rose) and many nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1917 and spent her adult life in Ottawa. A founding member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, she was a steadfast supporter of its many activities with a particular love for the choir. Her generosity and hospitality were enjoyed by countless friends over the years and in her last weeks she continued to knit caps for newborns. She lived and died with grace and dignity. OBITUARY CATHERINE (KAY) AUDREY WILMOTT BEER 1910 - 2005 Kay passed away peacefully in Montreal on October 15, 2005 at the age of ninety-five. She was an avid golfer from a very young age and excelled in many prestigious local and provincial golf tournaments from 1928 to 1954, winning the Provincial Ladies Golf Championship in 1947. Throughout these years, Kay developed as a fine athlete and continued to support ladies golf in the Province of Quebec. She was a member of Kanawaki as well as her home course, Beaconsfield Golf Club, where she became an Honourary member in 1978. Kay stopped playing golf in her eighty-seventh year, but continued to stay in touch with the local golfing community. Also, Kay will be remembered as an inspirational teacher for many years at Westhill High School in Montreal. She was an all-around athlete who excelled in curling and skiing. Kay was the eldest daughter of the late Alfred Netlam Beer and Lillie Louise Beer and was predeceased by her two sisters, Joy Beer and Marion Baker. "Auntie Kay" will be missed and fondly remembered by her niece Patricia Robinson, her husband Don and their children Lindsay and Michael of Toronto and the Baker family of Montreal. Special thanks to her many caregivers at the Montreal Grace Dart Extended Care facility. At Kay's request, a funeral service will not be held. He was the founder and original owner of Lakes Mold and Machine Company of Akron, Ohio. James was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the carrier, USS Belleau Wood in the South Pacific during World War II. LEBLANC, Daniel It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel, age 39, on Wednesday October 19th, 2005 at his home in Coniston. Surrounded by his loving family and his aunt Marie of Sudbury, he succumb to his 28 year battle against a very disabling illness. Left to cherish and honor his memory are his parents, Alphonse and Dorina (née Leger) LeBlanc of Coniston, his sisters Carole and Laureanne both of Coniston, his brothers Gilles of Charlottetown, PEI and Michel (wife Monique) of Coniston. He is also predeceased by his brother Sylvio. Daniel will also be sadly missed by his two nephews, Eric and Justin and by his niece Aimee. Laura Borne Breaux, 102, of Port Arthur passed away, Tuesday October 18, 2005 at the Senior Rehabilitation Center in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur under the direction of Broussard's in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday evening with a scriptural rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M. at the mortuary. Mrs. Breaux was a native of Rayne, Louisiana and lived most of her life in Port Arthur. She was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk for Plessala's Grocery in Port Arthur. Mrs. Breaux was preceded in death by her husband, R.A. Breaux, son, Royce J. Weber, and grandson, Dale Weber. She is survived by her daughter, Joye Weber and husband A.J. "Moon" of Port Arthur; daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Breaux of Port Neches; three grandchildren, Dewayne Weber of Mobile, Alabama, Deborah Jones of Winnie, and Marla Breaux of Port Neches; also surviving her are six great grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, one great-great grandchild, and three step great-great grandchildren.

Audrey Lorraine Tilliard, 88, New Franken, died October 20, 2005, at a local nursing home with family by her side. Born on June 2, 1917, she is the daughter of the late Ralph and Minnie (Bodart) Depeau. On August 28, 1940, she married Alvin Tilliard. Audrey farmed for many years with her husband, Alvin. Following their retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. JAMES A. GAUDETTE GEORGIA — James Arthur Gaudette, age 89, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in The Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans. He was born in Fairfax, May 29, 1916, the son of the late Alias & Mary (Murray) Gaudette. Jim worked as a dairy farm laborer, scrap iron dealer, wood splitter and cutter for most of his life. Jim did everything the old-fashioned way and enjoyed every bit of a hard task. He will be tremendously missed by his family and many friends who had the true pleasure to know and love him. He is survived by one brother, Raymond Gaudette of Georgia; three sisters, Katherine Beaudoin of South Burlington, Dorothy Metevier of Burlington, Eleanor Foy of Hartford, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by seven brothers, Vernon, Paul, Kenneth, Ralph, Louis, Roy Sr., Robert, three sisters, Elsene Gaudette, Mary Metevier and Eunice Raymond. LILLE - Percy Gendreau, 67, passed away Oct. 20, 2005, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Lille, the son of Edouard "Eddie" and Alice (Clavette) Gendreau. Percy worked most of his adult life on road construction for Harold Hornbrook Inc., Cianbro Inc., and Ed Pelletier & Sons construction companies. During the winters, he worked on snow removal at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone. Percy was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice (Caron) Gendreau of Lille; two sons, Percy Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Lima, Ohio, Gary of Van Buren; two very special granddaughters, "Madison a Percy" and "Skylah a Gary"; Tonya's two children, Cassie and Justine Rapp; five sisters, Rhea Gendreau of Limestone, Gladys Laplante of Bangor, Germaine St. Amand and Alphena Latham, both of Van Buren, Mary Ann Chasse of Hamlin. He was predeceased by three brothers, Conrad, Walter and Hector Gendreau; and by three sisters, Orena Gagnon and Lucienne and Ernestine Gendreau. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Daigle Funeral Home. HOLYOKE - Delia B. (Guilbault) Collins, 94, died Wednesday October 19 at the Holyoke Health Care Center. Born in Holyoke on July 28, 1911, Mrs. Collins was the daughter of the late Joseph Guilbault and Odelie (Aube). She attended the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and was a lifelong parishoner of their parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. Delia worked as a hatmaker at the former Winfield Hats in Holyoke. She was the wife of the late Andrew J. Collins. Mrs. Collins will be sadly missed by her daughter Lucille M. Collins and her partner Julie LaFreniere of Petersham MA; a daughter-in-law Jo-Ann Grandchamp of Boston; a grandaughter Geralyn Hughes and a great grandaughter Charlotte Hughes both of Quincy, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son William A. Collins in 1995 and several brothers and sisters. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Monday October 24 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Holyoke followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Nina Hebert Daigle, 99, a resident of Port Arthur for 86 years and the sixth of twelve children, was born to Ulge and Julia Landry Hebert in Abbeville, LA, March 15, 1906 and departed this earth on September 27, 2005. She was a loving mother to Leola, Glenda, Don, and Ida and a faithful and devoted employee to her brothers, Leo and Willie Hebert of Leo & Willie's Restaurant in Port Arthur. She loved nothing more and asked for nothing more, than being near her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who love her especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her only surviving sibling, Lucien "Sonny" Hebert and his wife Ruth. GENDRON, BERTHA G. (LALIME), 97, of St. Elizabeth Home, formerly of Sparrow Point III, died Wednesday at the home. She was the wife of the late Albert P. Gendron. Born in Canada, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Delia (Grandpre) Lalime, she had been a Warwick resident since 1958. Mrs. Gendron was employed for the US Rubber Company for 12 years and Leviton Mfg. Co. for 11 years and retired in 1972. She was a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church and enjoyed bowling and bingo.She is survived by, one daughter, Monica S. Ethier, of Warwick; one son, Henrie P. Gendron, of Cranston; one sister, Jeanne M. Desbiens, of Warwick; six grandchildren; one step granddaughter; four great granddaughters; and one great great granddaughter. PIERRETTE REJEANNE LAROUCHE "NANA PETE" Born on August 11, 1934 in the town of Hull, Province of Quebec, Canada. She was the seventh of eight children born to Anita and Albert Lalonde. The day she left us here on earth, she was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her sisters, Francoise V. Jacqueline and her brothers, Jean and Jacques. She met Gaston Larouche in the spring of 1951 when she was 17. It was "love at first sight" and she married him on December 26, 1954. Thus began their 53 year journey together. On December 27, 1954, she gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Nicole; on September 11, 1956 she gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Lise; and on March 31, 1962 she gave birth to her third child, a son name d, Mark. In September of 1963 Pierrette and Gaston moved their family to Southern California. This was a very courageous move for her as she left behind her home, family and her "native" language as well. She was a homemaker who worked alongside her husband helping him build his business. She did this in a whole new language that she could barely speak let alone read and write. But succeed she did, she knew no boundaries. To her new friends he became "Pete"... that was easier than rolling those French "R's". To know "Pete" was to love "Pete". She loved a good laugh, she was a no-nonsense, vibrant person who became your best-friend the minute you met her. She loved Elvis, Tom Jones, Bingo, gambling, and horse races. She was a naturally "lucky" person. She loved being a mom, but really blossomed when she became a grandmother. She is "Nana Pete" to Stephanie, Shawna, Stefan, Josh, Danielle and Samantha, and three years ago became great "Nana Pete" to Madison. Pierrette, "Pete" is survive d by her loving husband, Gaston; her three children, Nicole, Lise, and Mark; her daughter-in-law, Trish; her sons-in-law, Scott and Tim; her grandchildren; her sister Gabrille; her two brothers, Royal and Andre; and everyone else who knew and loved her. Richard Peter Lussier A memorial service for Richard Peter Lussier (born Richard Arlie Caraker) will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Born Oct. 16, 1943, in Pensacola, Fla., to Sara Marie Lussier Caraker and Walter Russell Caraker, he passed away of a heart attack Sept. 16, 2005. He graduated with a bachelor's degrees from Northern Illinois University in social services and Coyne American Institute Electrical Engineering. Throughout his life, he worked many jobs including several years at the Elgin Mental Health Center, and as an electrician, an international courier, and finally, an over the road truck driver along with several other pursuits. Richard spent several years living in Europe while he was married for a brief while, but married life was not for him; he was through in and throughout the traveling type. He would rather be exploring new lands and cultures than settled in one spot. He was fluent in French, German and Spanish. Richard loved having long conversations over a cup of coffee with a good friend, loved one or even a new friend just met. He would enjoy camping at rendezvous, where he was known as Frenchie. He is survived by his brother, Michael Caraker; sister-in-law, Barbara Caraker; nephew, Michael Caraker II; two nieces, Suzanne Caraker and Jennifer Caraker. He is also remembered by many friends and loved ones scattered throughout the world. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Sara; and father, Walter. MORIN, Victoria C. (Yanick) 88, of Marstons Mills, died October 19, 2005 at Harborside Healthcare in Mashpee after a short illness. She was the wife of Nelson H. Morin who died in 2000. They were married for 61 years. Mrs. Morin was born in Woonsocket, RI and lived most of her life in Millville, MA. Since her husband’s retirement, she and her husband divided their time between Florida and Marstons Mills where they enjoyed golf, boating and travel. She was a member of Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, Timber Greens Golf Club in New Port Richey and the Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course in Marstons Mills. Since 2003 she has been a resident of Harbor Point Assisted Living in Centerville. Devoted to her family, she is survived by one daughter, Barbara M. Lynch of Marstons Mills and one son, Richard N. and his wife, Judith of Cottage Grove, MN.; three grandsons, Michael of Cottage Grove and Peter and Robert of Sarasota, FL. She is also survived by one sister, Amelia Lavergne of Millville and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
