Georgianna Bienvenue, 95, of Manchester, died Oct. 17, 2005, in the Hanover Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester. Mrs. Bienvenue was born in Derry on Feb. 9, 1910, a daughter of the late James and Anastasia (Vomoris) Niarchos. Prior to moving to Manchester five years ago, she resided in Derry. She was employed as a shoeworker for Klev-Bro Shoe Co. in Derry, as well as at several other area shoe companies. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, crocheting, knitting, and tatting. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. She is survived by her daughter, Claire Eddy and husband, Robert, of Chester; one granddaughter, Sharon Attalla and husband, Dennis, of Chester; and one niece, Tina Tingley of Portsmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile J. Bienvenue, who died in 1996. ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, prior to the Mass. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry. DRACUT -- Roger E. Racette, 70, a former Lowell resident who worked at a local printing company for more than two decades and was an Air Force veteran, died yesterday morning, Oct. 20, at his Dracut home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Mildred O. (Matte) Racette, with whom he had celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in July.He was born in Lowell, July 18, 1935, son of the late Roger and Marilda (Croisetiere) Racette. He resided in Dracut for the past 17 years, and formerly lived in Lowell.He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Racette was employed as plate maker for 24 years with Murray Printing in the Forge Village section of Westford.He was a member of the former Corporation of the Members of the Catholic Association (CMAC), in Lowell. He also was an avid bowler with the bowling league.Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanne and Robert Demers of Methuen, Donna and Michael Swift of Haverhill, and Karen Racette and her fiancé, Brian Lahey of Derry, N.H.; three sons, Paul, Michael and David Racette, all of Dracut; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne Gagne, Lillian and David Dubrielle, and Rita Gagne, all of Lowell; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charles Racette of Manchester, N.H., Roland and Mary Racette, Raymond and Georgette Racette, and Robert and Mary Racette, all of Dracut.He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Melissa Vickers and her husband, James of Haverhill, Jessica and Kyle Demers of Methuen, Jason and Robert Swift of Haverhill, Briana Racette of Chelmsford, Steven and Samantha Racette, residing in New Hampshire, and Caitlyn and Ashley Racette of Dracut; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Emma Louise Robert Rosenwiesen, wife of the late Maks Rosenwiesen. Beloved daughter of the late Gabriel Joseph Robert and Emma Catherine Picou Robert. Born in Honey Island, LA, later resident of New Orleans, LA before moving to Metairie, LA where she lived for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and received the Order of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She was a member of the Young Elders, the Golden Agers, and AARP. She retired from Hibernia National Bank after thirty-eight years. She was president of the New Orleans Bond Club. Sisters, Blanche Roberts and Nedric Roberts Seymour; sister-in-law Lucille Roberts and many nieces and nephews survive her. Six brothers and two sisters precede her in death. The Funeral Services were held on October 18, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas where she was evacuated after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. A Gravesite Prayer will be held 3:00 p.m. October 21, 2005 at Lake Lawn Cemetery for friends and family in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity. AUBURN - Fernande "Fern" Sutton Bazinet, 82, a resident of Schooner Estates, Seville Place and previously of Oak Park Apartments in Lewiston, passed away on Oct. 19.She was born May 1, 1923, in Lewiston, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Angelina Sutton.She married her high school sweetheart Laurier "Larry" Bazinet on July 15, 1946, and together they had two sons and a daughter. She was a loving spouse and mother who was very active in her children's lives as well as in the community.She was an active member of the St. Joseph's Church Queens Guild, the St. Joseph's School PTA and a Cub Scout den mother for several years.She was co-owner of the family business with her husband, Larry, that later became The Vac Shak. She loved her job working as a manager of the St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop and also enjoyed working the voting polls in Lewiston.While living at Oak Park, she served as a president of the Oak Park Association. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church and church fair. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending her winters in Sun City Center, Fla., which she did with Larry for 12 years.She is survived by her husband of 59 years; her two sons, John of Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Gary and his wife, Karen, of Poland Spring; her daughter, Nancy and her husband, Philip St. Pierre, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Gregory Bazinet, Shari and her husband, Jason Cloutier, and Kathleen and her husband, Steven Caron; one great-grandson, Benjamin Cloutier; one sister, Rita Beliveau; and one sister-in-law, Agathe Sutton.She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.

SMITHMAN, Harold Henry. 1931-2005. On October 19 after a courageous battle with cancer has completed his journey on earth. Harold leaves to mourn his wife of fifty-two years Elma (Mortimer), children Grant and Tara, daughter-in-law Lucinda Norris and son-in-law Carl Storsater, sister Sandra and brother-in-law Terry Kelly, grandchildren Chelsie, Lisa, Ashlea, Shane and Brittany, and nieces and nephews. CHARTIER, WILFRED "Bill" G. Cdr. USN (Retired) August 21, 1919 to October 15, 2005 Wilfred "Bill" G. Chartier, Cdr. USN (Ret), 86, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 in his Santa Barbara home in Maravilla, sitting in his favorite recliner with his hands folded in his lap and his head slightly tilted. He had hopefully gotten through the Notre Dame football game he was watching. On Sunday, he was being picked up by his daughter, Antoinette, to come live with her family until his sciatica episode subsided but the Lord took him first. He was born in Manistique, Michigan, August 21, 1919 to W.J. and Leda (La Chappelle) Chartier. He lost his mother when he was very young. Bill went to Marquette University where he played varsity basketball. He met Elayne Kaap, his future wife in the 8th grade in Green Bay Wisconsin where they both grew up. Bill was a Knight Grand Cross of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a group that Practices the virtue of Charity, supporting and prayerfully aiding the Church and the preservation of the Catholic religion in the Holy Land! Until he moved to Santa Barbara in February of this year, to be near his daughter, he was active in the Serra Club (2 time Past President), Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, played tennis with passion until he was 84 ½ years old, and was a big supporter of Vocations for Priests. He was a member of St. Therese Parish for over 30 years. He is survived by his devoted and beloved children, Randy Chartier, his wife Mary, Antoinette Chartier, her husband Brian Nash and grandchildren, Richard Chartier and Francesca Nash. His brother also survives him, Melvin Chartier of Las Vegas, Nevada. Bill was married (59 years!) to his beloved and cherished Elayne Rita Kaap on October 17th, 1941. He was preceded in death by Elayne on December 30, 2000. His brothers, Russell Chartier and Clarence Chartier, with whom he was close, also preceded him in death. His 32-year distinguished Naval Career included serving on (8) ships and (6) shore stations, including the Pentagon, Italy, Philippines, San Diego, Norfolk, Guam, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Cuba. This included (3) command tours and (4) assignments as Executive Officer. He was a proud WWII Veteran where he served on LSM(R) Rocket Ships. He earned his Bronze Star for a battle on May 11, 1945 in the Pacific. He earned a Bronze Star and a Silver Star in WWII and numerous medals and commendations throughout his career. Following Navy retirement in 1970, he spent (5) years in the Social Service field in San Diego and then (8) years as an administrator for the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration (now entitled FEMA). "Daddy/Bill...we will we will always love you and miss you. The light will embrace you without doubt...our example in life, in all aspects, was an inspiration to all. You were always such a good and pure manand a kind loving father and husband...you were the absolute awesome 'real man' who always modeled his beliefs." His presence will be missed every day and his impact on his family and friends is immeasurable. "Goodbye my sweet Prince...for you truly were a Prince amongst men." He was accepted into the doctoral program in the Chemistry Dept. at the University of Colorado, Boulder, at the time of his diagnosis, but was unable to attend due to his illness. He was a member of the American Chemical Society. Steven enjoyed skiing, soccer, hiking, all Boston sports teams, and he especially loved Vermont. BOYLSTON— Edith R. (Copper) Faucher, 77, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John O. Faucher, Sr.; a son, Michael F. Faucher of Sutton; a daughter, Mary Ann Faucher of Arlington, TX; a brother, Arthur Copper of Oxford; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sons, John O. Faucher, Jr., and Arthur Faucher, and a sister, Marie Copper. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael and Mary (Torone) Copper and graduated from Commerce High School in 1946. She was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Parish, the Boylston Council on Aging, and the Boylston Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held on Sat., Oct. 22, at 11:00 a.m.in St. Mary of the Hills Parish, 630 Cross Street. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery. Henri J. Dugas III, 57, a resident of Amelia, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Dugas; and one son, Henri J. He had a variety of interests in his life from drag racing and photography in his youth, to computing and motorcycle touring most recently. FITCHBURG -- J. Maurice Fournier, 103, longtime resident of Walnut Street, Fitchburg, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 19, in St. Theresa’s Manor, Manchester, N.H., after a brief illness.He was born on March 20, 1902, in Gardner, the son of Arthur M. and Marie-Anne (Bonin) Fournier and was raised in Ste. Anne-de-Beaupre, Quebec, Canada. He was home schooled by his mother and then attended St. Joseph College in 1915 and graduated from there in 1918. He and his family then moved to Manchester, N.H. in 1918. After a few years in Manchester, he then moved to Leominster, where he became an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life and the Sentury Insurance Co. He was an insurance agent for over 40 years, retiring in 1967.As a young boy he witness seeing the first of many things, such as the automobile and the first flight of an airplane at Kitty Hawk and also remembered the sinking of the Titanic. In his day, the Christmas trees were lit with candles and telephones were not yet discovered. His favorite saying was “I’ve lived the better days.”Mr. Fournier is survived by two daughters, Charlotte P. and her husband Edward Jr. Fahey of Bedford, N.H. and Diane S. and her husband Paul E. Courtemanche of Rindge, N.H.; five grandchildren, Edward Fahey III of York Beach, Maine, Michelle Fortin and Todd Fahey, both of Bow, N.H., Tracey Thibaudeau of Lunenburg, and Craig Fahey of Bedford, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His wife of 59 years, Anita (Babineau) Fournier, died in 1991. He was also predeceased by four sisters, Gertrude McInerney and Mercedes Cournoyer, both of Leominster, Sister Anne Felix and Sister Bernadette of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, and one brother, Roland Fournier of Fitchburg.FOURNIER -- On Oct. 19, J. DRACUT -- Noela M. (Houle) Dumond, 99, a lifelong Dracut resident who was active in the community, died yesterday, Oct. 20, at her home. She was the wife of the late Rene Dumond who died in 1990.She was born in Dracut, Jan. 10, 1906, daughter of the late Zoel and Pamela (Dessureault) Houle. She was raised in Dracut, and graduated from St. Louis Academy in Lowell.Before retiring, Mrs. Dumond worked at Solomon Mental Health Center in Lowell. Previously, she worked for the commonwealth of Massachusetts, at the Tewksbury State Hospital in the medical records department.She was a communicant of St. Francis Church, in Dracut.She was a member of the League of Catholic Women, St. Louis Ladies Sodality, Dracut Senior Citizens, Dracut Historical Society, Poor Clare Guild, National Council of Senior Citizens, the Union St. Jean Baptiste, and AARP.She was also a member of the St. Louis Academy Alumnae, and had established many scholarships for St. Louis Schools.At the time of her death, she was the oldest living Dracut-born resident of the town, according to family members.She is survived by a sister, Bernadette Matte of Lowell; several nieces and nephews, including Jeanne McGlinchey who cared for her in her later years at home until her death. She was also the sister of the late Blanche Vigeant of Dracut, Lucille Webster, residing in Connecticut, Rita Gorman of Dracut, Gertrude Bouffard of Pelham, Raymond Houle of Jacksonville, Fla., Louis Houle of Lowell, Leo Houle, Dr. Emile Houle, and Gilbert Houle, all of Dracut.
