Of Fall River, Nova Scotia and most recently of Bedford, Nova Scotia, passed away on October 7, 2005, five months after her husband David Bain died on May 6, 2005. Born in Ottawa, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (McBride) Prescott. EAGLE LAKE - Rella M. Albert, 85, wife of the late Jack Albert, died Oct. 18, 2005, at an Eagle Lake healthcare facility. She was born March 28, 1920, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Mathias and Herminine (Saucier) Boucher. She is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Jacqueline and her husband, George Saucier, of Eagle Lake, Diane and her husband, Gene Lavertu, of Eagle Lake, Connie and her husband, Dalton Tibbetts, of Ashland, Carlene Albert of Taunton, Mass.; one sister, Bella Soucy of Hartford, Conn.; one very special daughter-in-law, Beth Albert of Quimby; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and was looking forward to her 19th great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 1977; four sons, Franklin, Patrick in 1997 and Johnny and Roger in 2002; three sisters and four brothers. At her request there will be no calling hours at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, at St., Mary's Catholic Church, Eagle Lake with the Rev. Paul Labree officiating. Committal service will follow in the parish cemetery. Those who wish in her memory may donate to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O. Box 688, Caribou, ME 04736. Boudreau, Paul Thomas, a retired priest, raconteur, world traveler and long-time resident of South Florida, died October 17, Monday morning surrounded by loving friends and family following a lengthy battle with cancer. Paul was born in 1929 in Springfield, MA, the youngest child of Mose and Mary Grady Boudreau. After graduating from Cathedral High School, Paul attended St Michael's College in Vermont before leaving to study for the priesthood at Grand Seminaire de Montreal, Canada. He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1956 and served in several parishes in the diocese of Springfield, MA. His sabbatical enabled him to pursue his love of new places and he traveled the world before settling for several years by the sea in Agadir, Morocco. Upon his return, he retired near his family in Ft Lauderdale where he entertained his many friends from all over the world. He was the beloved brother to Jeanne Boudreau Davis and the late Charles Boudreau; a close and enduring friend to Rick Sykes; and the beloved uncle to a large and growing family. A reception will be held at Baird-Case Funeral Home on Federal Hwy in Ft Lauderdale from 3PM to 7PM, Wednesday, October 19th. A funeral Mass, celebrated by his lifelong friend, Fr. Anthony Creane, will be held Thursday, October 20th, at 12 noon at St Coleman's Church in Pompano Beach, FL. "There's no counting lemon peels in heaven." ORTH ADAMS -- Ethel Roy, 75, of 611 State Road died Monday at the home of her daughter, Deborah A. Robert, in Adams. Born in the Greylock section of North Adams on Jan. 28, 1930, daughter of Fritz Karl and Mariann Wabnig Hannaleck, she attended local schools. Mrs. Roy was briefly employed by Sprague Electric Co. and worked at Hoosac Cotton Mill until it closed. She also worked with her husband as a bookkeeper during the years they ran the former Bob & Hank's Service Center in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church of Williamstown and a member of the Williamstown American Legion Post 125. She was a volunteer foster grandparent at Brayton Elementary School. She married George Henry Roy on Oct. 30, 1948. He died in March 2000. Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, George Jeffrey of Gardner; another daughter, Gail Roy Van Slycke of Williamstown; five sisters, Lillian Schafer of Pittsfield, Dorothy Poplaski of Pahrump, Nev., Doris Mary Heyes of Williamstown, Helen O'Neil of Adams and Florence Diodati of Williamstown; a brother, Clarence Hannaleck of Largo, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Ethel Roy will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church, Southworth Street, Williamstown. She chose to donate her remains to the Anatomical Gift Program of the Albany Medical College in hopes of doing what she could to further the study and cure of Crohn's Disease. Drouillard, Donald D. -- Bay City, Michigan -- Mr. Drouillard, 67 years, passed away suddenly Monday, October 17, 2005. He was born in Vassar on April 29, 1938 to the late Joseph & Helen (Stephen) Drouillard. He married the former Alison Robetoy on January 24, 1959 at St. Mary's Church, Bay City. She survives him. He served in the U.S. Marines and was retired from Bay City Powertrain after 28 years. Surviving besides his wife of 48 years, are children: Mark & Lisa Drouillard, Teri Drouillard, and Pamela Drouillard; four grandchildren: Christopher Drouillard, A.J. Charbonneau, Annie Charbonneau and Tyler Piowaty; a brother, Edward; two sisters, Betty Causley and Nancy Westcott. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Joseph Drouillard. He danced his way through life. He loved everybody so, that when he was asked a favor he just could not answer no. For this he will be remembered in his happy way, his jokes, his love, Don danced his way into our hearts. Now he dances from heaven up above. MARIELEE F. ST. ONGE -- October 12, 1947 - October 18, 2005 -- BALLOUVILLE - Marielee F. St. Onge, 58, of Ware Road Ext. died after a long battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family on Tuesday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the wife of Timothy J. St. Onge, who survives her. They were married on July 22, 1970 at St. Mary Church in Putnam. Mrs. St. Onge was born in Putnam on Oct. 12, 1947, the daughter of the late Lionel and Joan (Marcella) Dumas. She attended Killingly schools and graduated from Killingly High School in 1965. Upon completion of her education, she worked at Day Kimball Hospital. She then worked as a teller at Hartford National Bank in Putnam. She later became employed at Citizens National Bank, where she worked in many capacities, from teller to assistant branch manager. She was a notary public. She enjoyed travel and enjoyed music. Mostly, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband participated in local fire department activities. She was a member and past secretary of the Attawaugan Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. St. Onge was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Ballouville. Besides her husband, she leaves a son Jason Mark St. Onge and his wife, Kelly of Plainfield; a daughter, Melissa Guevremont and her husband, David of Dayville; a brother, Mark Dumas of Ballouville; a sister, Nancy Provost of Ballouville; two grandchildren, Cassidy Guevremont and Hannah St. Onge; and many nieces and nephews. KINGSTON -- Pauline C. "Polly" Meade, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Inn at Silver Lake after a period of failing health. She was the widow of Lawrence Meade. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Aldea (Joly) Duval. She was brought up in New Bedford and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She was a tennis player; she and her brother "Lefty" played doubles in championship matches. She was a lab technician at Titleist in New Bedford; she tested golf balls all over the country and met many PGA players. She was a member of Reservation Golf Club in Mattapoisett and the Fall River Country Club. Mrs. Meade loved to golf, swim and make her own clothes. Survivors include a son, Gary Bellavance, and his wife, Donna, of Pembroke; two brothers, Paul "Lefty" Duval of Fall River and Charles Duval of Shelby, N.C.; two grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews; and a great-nephew. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford. She had been an active member of Saint Charles Parish in Waltham and had been a ‘Meals on Wheels’ volunteer at Maristhill Nursing home in Waltham. The wife of the late Joseph S. Cormier, she leaves her children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Peter Charbonneau of Royalston, Mary-Anne and Butch Bennett of Belmont, Arthur and Sally Cormier, Lorraine and Frederick Dowcett, Joan and Tim Utley, Linda and James Trainor, Laura and Wayne Flaherty, Ann and Robert Foucher, all of Waltham, Patricia Donahue and her companion Rich Fura, and Jerome and Nicole Cormier, all of Attleboro; her sisters and brothers, Larayne Valente of Royalston, Thomas Venuti of Wakefield, Marie Maguire, Kay Pantenella and Colin Venuti all of Florida. STEWART, HALSEY - On Monday, October 17, 2005, Halsey Stewart, loving husband of Florence (Hanson) Stewart passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Whites Cove, NB, he was the son of the late Beverly and Verna Stewart. Halsey drove taxi in Saint John for many years with Al's Taxi and ABC Taxi, and also worked for MIT Sales. Besides his wife, Halsey is survived by his daughter Nancy and her husband Peter; one grandson: Peter Michael; two sisters: Lillian McDermott (Frank), Shirley Kingston (Bob); one brother: Stanley Stewart (Mary); several nieces and nephews, all of Saint John. Hilda Elnora Snedden March 28, 1907 - October 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home SNEDDEN, Hilda Elnora – It is with great sadness, but great memories that we announce the passing of Hilda Snedden, of Pioneer Village on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the age of 98 years with her family by her side. Mum was predeceased by her father, Charles Ripley; her mother Lillian Smith; her stepfather Charles Smith; husband Charles Snedden; brother Tom Ripley; sister-in-law Beth Ripley; brother-in-law Thor Halfso; sister-in-law Margaret Smith and nephew Norman Ripley. Hilda is survived by her daughter Lynn (Andy) Sieffert; sister Marj Halfso; brother Jim (Exilda) Smith; granddaughters Laurie (Vern) Ell and Terrie (Rick) Hoffman; great grandchildren Carrie (Brad), Kristy (Brandon), Brittany, Tanner; great great grandchildren Corbin and Sydney as well as her extended family Vern, Carla and Glenda and nieces and nephews. Mum was born in Antwerp, New York on March 28, 1907. When mum was 6 weeks old her family came and homesteaded outside of Ernfold, SK. Throughout her life she lived in many locations, including Assiniboia, Radisson, Kerrobert, Morse, Reno Nevada, Saskatoon and Regina. Mum attended Normal School in Saskatoon and began her teaching career at Charlotte, just outside of Ernfold. During this time she met Charlie Snedden who she married April 6, 1929. Ten years later their only child Lynn was born. Over the years mum had many triumphs and tragedies. Mum taught school in Ernfold for over 2 year when she and dad purchased the General Store, which they owned and operated for 52 years. In 1945, after they finished remodeling their home over the store and paying off their mortgage everything was lost to a fire – home and store. Not to be defeated they preserved and rebuilt and new store and house. This house has since been destroyed by a tornado. They sold the store in 1977 and 10 years later moved to Regina. Mum and dad were always very active in the community of Ernfold and enjoyed many, many friendships. They also loved to travel and saw most of the United States and Canada. Many of their holidays also included their two granddaughters. Mum loved to dance, play cards – particularly bridge, and belonged to many clubs such as Eastern Star, UCW, Cemetery Association, Bridge Club, Curling Club, Lioness Club as well as participating in all kinds of drama and fashion shows. Mum loved to dance – and spoke often of the Charleston as one of her favorites. Mum was young at heart and took extreme care of her appearance, always wearing the latest fashion and always looking younger than her years. Mum was very passionate about her family and had a special love for her two granddaughters Laurie and Terrie. As years passed she extended that love for her great grandchildren Carrie, Kristy, Brittany and Tanner and later still to her great great grandchildren Corbin and Sydney as well as her step-grandchildren Vern, Carla, Glenda and families. In November of 2000, Mum moved from her apartment in Palliser Place into Pioneer Village where she resided until her passing. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Pioneer Village who have looked after mum (Grandma) over the past 5 years, and in particular the staff of 2East. Your compassion and care has been truly appreciated. At Mum’s request, there will be a private family memorial with her final resting place at Ernfold, SK where she will join dad. Dolly was born January 30, 1929 in Oakriver, MB, the daughter of Jack and Jane Maitland. Dolly spent her early years in Oakriver and later in Winnipeg where she met and married Tom, who was in the Armed Forces. She moved from Winnipeg to Toronto and then onto Kingston ON and back to Winnipeg. She worked at Eaton’s (Polo Park) for many years. She loved to travel, curl, golf and bowl. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. We will all remember Dolly as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. May she rest in peace.
