MUNROE, JOHN CHARLES - Unexpectedly, at his residence on October 16, 2005, Mr. John Charles Munroe, husband of Helen Josephine (Noddin) Munroe of Beaver Harbour, NB. John was born in Guysborough, NS on January 18, 1939. A loving husband, father and brother, John is survived, besides his wife, by one daughter, Kimberley (Scott) Anderson of Bedford, NS; one son, Kevin Munroe of Moncton, NB; three brothers, Bob (Betty) Munroe of Montague, PEI, Cleveland (Edie) Munroe of Halifax, NS and Ainsley Munroe of ON; two half brothers, Paul Ehler of Queensport, Guysborough Co., NS and Graham Ehler of Antigonish, NS; one half sister, Margaret Ehler of Boston, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful companion, Jake the dog. He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Morgan. John worked as a foreman for Connors Bros. Ltd. in Beaver Harbour and Blacks Harbour for 45 years. He was an avid lover of hockey and was involved with local Minor Hockey for 15 years. He will be well remembered for his love of decorating his property for the Christmas season. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church on Thursday at 2 pm, with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating, followed by interment in St. George Rural Cemetery. PERLMAN, Dianne (Gardner). at fifty-three, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Montreal General Hospital, after a long and courageous battle. Beloved wife of Edward Perlman, cherished daughter of Julie Ferro and the late Henry Gardner of Dorval and loving sister of Susanne and Harvey Romoff. MORGAN, DONALD WILLIAM - At his residence on October 16, 2005 Donald W. Morgan of Browns Flat husband of Joyce (Parker) Morgan. Born in Fredericton N.B. on May 26, 1944 he was the son of the late George and Bernice (Atkinson) Morgan. Donald owned and operated the Gulf Service Station on Main Street West for a number of years and also drove Transport Truck and in the past few years he drove Pilot Car. Surviving in addition to his wife Joyce are three daughters Brenda Galliah (Mike), Cindy Richards (Dwight) and Lori Walker (Brian) all of Browns Flat; three brothers Robert Morgan (Carolyn) Browns Flat, Phillip Morgan (Jean) Jones Creek and Ronald Morgan (Carolyn) Saint John; one sister Phyllis Morgan Saint John; cherished grandchildren Nathan (Katie), Morgan, Dylan and Blake. VARJASSY-REGIMBAL, Ilona Born Ilona Toth on June 4, 1929 in Nagy Gencs, Hungary. Passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 14, 2005 with her beloved Pepper by her side. Daughter of the late Janos Toth and Ilona Iker. After graduating from the University of Budapest, Ilona arrived in Moncton, N.B. in 1957, where she quickly learned English to continue her love of being a journalist. She was proud to be the first camera woman in Canada hired by CKCW TV in Moncton. She later moved to CJOH and eventually joined the Public Service, working for the Centenary Commission and later as assistant to the Minister of Multiculturalism and several other departments. Ilona was particularly interested in underprivileged children, the disabled and world suffering. She worked tirelessly to make the world a better place. Ilona is survived by the Toth family and childhood friend Marta Kravianszki of Hungary, the Regimbal, Goguen and Panek families and her many friends from Hungary and across Canada. Unfortunately, Frontal Lobe Dementia prevented her from fully enjoying her many friends in her later years. Special thanks to Mr. Gauthier, Melinda, Zsuzsa, Susana, Anna and the other dedicated helpers that made her life comfortable in the end. A Celebration of Ilona's life will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Robert C. (George) Smith 1928 - 2005 Robert C. (George) Smith, 77, of Ellesmere Drive, Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, October 17, 2005 from complications of Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Born in Basingstoke, England, he was the son of the late Lillian and William Smith. George was former Manager of Audit Services with Co-op Atlantic, retiring in 1991 with 30 years of service. Prior to moving to Canada in 1956, he was a member of the Royal Air Force with service in England, Gibraltar and the British Embassy, Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Probus Club and a former member of Toastmasters. An avid reader, he also enjoyed classical music and traveled extensively until curtailed by illness. He is survived by his spouse, C. Frances Smith; four sons, Christopher (Linda), Evan (Judy), Craig and Richard (Elizabeth); one daughter, Marsha Greenan (Blair); four grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Laura Smith, Matthew Greenan and Ellen Greenan; and one sister, June Cooke of Goole, England. Ida Cecilia (Toots) Ramsay MIRAMICHI, NB - Ida Cecilia (Toots) (nee Phee) Ramsay passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi on October 16, 2005 in her 76th year. Ida is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Oland, of 59 years. Together they raised 12 children. Elaine Thompson (Leigh), Judy Foran (Bill) Miramichi City, N.B., Norman (Lynn) Arlington, Texas, Kevin (Cheryl), Richard (Shelley), David, Carolyn of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Gary (Cathy), Patty (Kevin) Jones, Cornwall, P.E.I., Paul (Cheryl) Stratford, P.E.I. and Danny (Marianne) Winnipeg, Manitoba. Predeceased by daughter, Marie (Campbell) and grandchildren, Bruce and Tracey. Ida also leaves behind 34 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Buddy (A.J.) Phee; sister, Marie MacDonald, both of Calgary, Alberta and Pat Spurles of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Ida was also predeceased by one brother, Lester Phee; sisters, Nora Halman, Phyllis McCarthy, Lilian King, Bertha O'Brien, Jen Flanagan and Marg Walsh-Hay. At Ida's request there will be no visitation. Following cremation a Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi, N.B. BISHOP, CLOWES M. Clowes M. Bishop passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB on October 17, 2005. He was 87. Born in Fredericton NB, he was the son of the late Henry & Mary (Clark) Bishop. Clowes was a retired funeral director and founder of Bishop's Funeral Home. A member of the Fredericton Horseman's Association & the USTA having owned & raced horses for over 65 years throughout the Maritimes, Maine & Ontario. A drill sergeant during WWII here in Fredericton, he went on to join the Fredericton City Police Force following the war and later became Fredericton's 1st Detective Sgt. In early 1964 he bought the Mundle property on the Woodstock Road which he renovated and opened as Bishop's Funeral Home on July 16, 1964 retiring in 1977. Surviving are son Donald (Stephanie) of Fredericton, daughter-in-law Kathy Bishop of Fredericton, sister Frances Dixon of Bedford N.S, grandchildren Jim, Andrew, Mike, Lee, Lisa & Joseph. Special friend Shirley Raymond, as well as five great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents, wife Margaret Irene (Giberson) Bishop, a son Gerald Bishop, one brother Allan, sisters Betty Dupuis, Edna Barlow & Joyce Clark, grandson Daniel Bishop. MOFFATT, James Joseph, Peacefully surrounded by his loving children, on October 16, 2005 at the age of 81, Jim passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital following a very brief illness. Jim was predeceased by his mother Lillian Burke (1975) father John Moffatt (1929) and brother Jack (2004). Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan Flannery, his sister Betty Daniel of Thornhill and brother Kenneth of Louisiana. He is survived by his much loved children, Maureen (Wayne Squib b), Marilyn (Robert Kram), Gary (Lorri Metcalfe) and Greg (Dr. Vivian Liu): and his adored grandchildren, Cristin (Adam Lazier), Jessica, Elizabeth, Geoffrey, Jonathan, James, Jaclyn, Allison, Bryan, Jordan and Clare. Born in Toronto, graduating from commerce at Malvern, Jim joined the RCAF in 1942. Following his discharge, he moved to St. Catharines where he co-founded and presided as president of Niagara Welder's Supply until selling his interst to Union Carbide in 1991. During his career he s erved several terms as Chairman of The Canadian Welding Society and The Ontario Welder's Supply Association. Jim and his wife Joan were active golf and curling members of The St. Catharines Golf and Curling Club for over 55 years. He served several y ears on the Board of Directors, becoming on Honorary Member in 1999. At his Tribute it was stated: "Jim is a mild-mannered man of integrity and gentlemanly qualities. Many of our older members have known him for decades and what we have written will not be news to them. However, we would bet that every one of them considers themselves to be one of his friends and you can be sure that they carry that distinction with pride. That is the essence of Jim Moffatt." Jim was also an active member of the Niagara Falls Club, Rotary Club and Rodman Hall. Antonia Noella Fouillard (née Houle) August 16, 1909 - October 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel ANTONIA (TONI) NOELLA FOUILLARD (Nee HOULE) “Toni” peacefully left us for her eternal home on October 17, 2005 at Taché Centre with her family by her side. Toni was born on August 16, 1909 and raised in Letellier, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Babe) in June 1977, her brother Ferdinand in 1910 and her sisters Denise in 1936 and Victoria in 1997. Mom was a devoted wife and mother. She took great pride in her family and was always willing to lend a hand and never expected anything in return. She was always very appreciative of anything she received and displayed everything with great pride. Mom could always see the brighter side to any dilemma and was always there with words of encouragement. She loved hockey and was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s biggest fan. Toni will be cherished and lovingly remembered by her sister Madeleine Morin, Port Dover, ON; her five children, Roland (Ruth), Denise (Jack), Claire (Wayne), Claude (Marguerite), Terry (Ash); her nine grandchildren, Raymond (Lisa), Rick (Barb), Gisele (Mike), Dinah, David (Lori), Brenda (Al), Catherine (Brent), Jennifer (Andrew), Nicole (Tyler) and her eleven great-grandchildren. Il fut également médaillé de la Reine. HOLYOKE - Kathleen J. (Maloney) Vachon, 76, passed away Monday October 17, after a long illness at Loomis House in Holyoke. She was the daughter of the late David Sr. and Margaret (Kelleher) Maloney and a graduate of Chicopee High School Class of 1941. She received training at Providence Hospital to become an X-Ray Technician. Kathleen lived in Willimansett and Holyoke and was an X-Ray Technician for Dr. Zalinski for many years. She leaves her son Joseph Vachon and his wife Noelle of Holyoke and one granddaughter Jamie Lee Vachon whom she cherished with all of her heart. A brother David Maloney and his wife Claire of So. Chatham, a sister Rita White of W. Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by another son Patrick Vachon in 1993 and her sisters Mary Maloney and Cecelia Delmonico. She will be missed by many dear friends. She is also survived by her former husband James Vachon and his wife Joan and their son Tom of Brewster, and her brother in law Ben Delmonico. ADAMS, Irene - Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully, after a short stay at the Grace Hospital, Irene Adams, age 98 passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2005. Irene was predeceased by her husband "Babe" and sons Dean and Jim. Irene will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Luella Lumley (Jack); sister Grace Haig; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Irene was long time member and a Past Noble Grand of St. James Rebekah Lodge No. 47, I.O.O.F., and in 1978 she was the first member of that lodge to have earned the Decoration of Chivalry. This decoration is given for volunteer work. As well, Irene was an active member of Sturgeon Creek United Church and took up painting with their “Crafty Crafters”, producing some beautiful paintings, which she graciously gave to family members. The family thanks the staff at West Park Manor for their many years of loving caring for Irene and also thanks the Grace Hospital nursing staff and Dr. Borrett for the tender care given to Mom. A celebration of Irene's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Irene may be made to the St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, R2M 3Z9.

MUNN, RAYMOND EARL The death of Raymond Earl Munn, husband of the late Pauline Elsie (Norrad) Munn, occurred on October 16, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Gordon Vale, NB, he was the son of the late Earl and Sarah (Scott) Munn. Raymond was a retired Millwright, a Veteran of WWII, a Member of the Masonic Order, a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Raymond joined the Canadian Army at #7 Depot in Fredericton, NB. From there he was transferred to Halifax, NS. After completing his training he was sent to Gander, Newfoundland. From Gander he was later sent across the Atlantic Ocean, on the HMCS Andes, serving at Aldershot England. From England, Raymond was transferred to Germany and most of the time he spent in the War Zones serving in Belgium, France, Holland, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Raymond saw a lot of action while in this War, but was lucky enough to escape with his life. He returned to Canada on December 22, 1946, arriving at Pier 47 in Halifax on the HMS Dutchess of Bedford. Since the War, Raymond was employed mostly as a Federal Fisheries Officer, Commissionaire and a Millwright. He retired on his 65th birthday from Ashley Colter's Mill in Boiestown. Raymond was the loving Father of his children, MaryGayle McKinley (Douglas) of Noonan, Sereta Stewart (Stanley) of Maugerville, Heather Darrah (Mel) of Fredericton and Darrell Munn (Susan) of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harvey, Scott and Delbert Munn; four sisters, Addie Norrad, Audrey Abernethy, Loretta Peacock and Marguerite Calhoun. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Herschel and his sister Ada Merle. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 2 pm from the Boiestown Pentecostal Church with Rev. Steven Ashfield and Rev. Robbie Hanson officiating. Normandy Branch #78 will be holding a Legion Tribute Service on Wednesday at 7 pm from the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, followed by a Masonic Service. WOODLAND - Jeannine "Jean" Ouellette died Oct. 16, 2005, at her home in Woodland. She was born April 2, 1937, the daughter of Albert and Madeline Chabre'. Jean "Nannie" enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Bryan and Katelin, in which she shared a special place in her heart for them. Jean was also fond of her many moments that were spent at the Kingdom Hall, practicing the Jehovah Religion. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Roland J. Ouellette in 2000. She is survived by her son, Garry and daughter-in-law, Melissa, and their children, Bryan and Katelin Ouellette, all of Woodland. She is survived by her brother and sisters, Clemence Gagnon, Edwina Michaud, Corrine Michaud, Rodrique and his wife, Debbie Chabre', Richard Chabre', Juliette St. Peter, Irene and her husband, Gene Rowland and Romeo and his wife, Martha Chabre'; and many nieces and nephews. Jean will be remembered for her great sense of humor and loving laughter that touched all of the lives that she came in contact with.
